Olga Ushakova, TV presenter: biography, career, personal life

Olga Ushakova is a TV presenter who has long had a staff of loyal and devoted fans. From the comments on various forums it is clear that there are people who watch programs with her participation only for the sake of the presenter. The girl built her brilliant career on Channel One on her own, coming to television as an ordinary trainee in 2004. Like many public people, she attracts special attention of ordinary people to her person. Olga Ushakova, a TV presenter whose personal life is of great interest to an impressive part of her regular audience, tries not to disclose information about her beloved man. But this only increases the public’s interest in the personal life of the screen star.

An example to follow

Looking at television presenters, many get the feeling that their freedom, sociability, ease of communication and perfect command of speech are exclusively innate abilities. But few people think that some screen stars had to develop all these qualities through hard work over many years. The beautiful Olga Ushakova is a TV presenter who belongs to this category of people well-known in the media space.

She acquired many of the qualities that now make the girl a unique screen star thanks to her difficult childhood. Olga Ushakova, a TV presenter (whose age, height, weight interests all her fans), is without a doubt an example to follow. Today, the 35-year-old woman has almost ideal parameters: her height is 172 cm, and her body looks slim and toned. But few people think that the presenter’s attractive appearance and excellent figure were also not a gift from above. In order to maintain ideal shape after two births, Olga has to make a lot of effort.

TV presenter career

Olga did not stay as the head of the branch for long, as she moved to Moscow with her young man. It was then that she remembered her childhood dream and decided to try her hand at television, especially since the capital opened up enormous opportunities. During body tests, they noticed the photogenic Olga, but they pointed out her southern accent.

During body tests, attention was paid to the photogenic Olga. The girl was nevertheless accepted into the position of an intern, within which she trained speech techniques, searched for informational reasons for news stories and wrote them.

In 2005, Olga became the presenter of morning news on Channel One, broadcasting to the eastern regions of Russia (alternating with Andrei Ukharev for a week).

In 2005, Olga became the presenter of the morning news of Channel One. In 2009, Olga Ushakova appeared on the screen again, but as the presenter of the nightly news of Channel One, broadcasting to Central Russia. A year later, the “Other News” program was added to Olga’s responsibilities, the main focus of which was apolitical stories.

In 2009, Olga Ushakova became a night news anchor from 2013 to 2021. Ushakova was one of the co-hosts of the annual “Direct Line with Vladimir Putin.”

In 2014, Ushakova began working as the host of the Good Morning program. At that time, the program underwent significant changes: the composition of the presenters became “younger,” and the headings and topics for the stories were also updated. Such innovations benefited the program, and in 2015 the Good Morning program received the TEFI award. After 2 years, the program was again encouraged by this prestigious award, and Olga Ushakova herself (together with Sergei Babaev) was among the finalists in the “Morning Program Host” nomination (the award was received by Yulia Vysotskaya with the “Eating at Home” program).

In 2014, Ushakova began working as the host of the Good Morning program.

Family and childhood of the future screen star

The homeland of this beautiful girl is Crimea. Olga Ushakova, a TV presenter whose date of birth interests many viewers of her broadcasts (since everyone is concerned about the same question: how old is this beautiful woman really), was born on 04/07/1981. The girl's father was a military man, and quite strict rules reigned at home.

In addition to Olga, two more children were growing up in the family: a younger brother and an older sister, who was mainly involved in Olya’s upbringing. Ushakova recalls that when the children in their family were 8-9 years old, they were already completely independent: they did their homework themselves, cooked their own food and cleaned the apartment. Such qualities acquired from childhood as perseverance, discipline and responsibility were very useful to Olga in her later life.

How did the first communication skills develop?

Since the father of the future TV presenter was a military man, their family moved from place to place quite often. It so happened that Olga did not stay in one school for more than six months. In order to join the new team, establish contact with peers and teachers, Olya had to be interesting, sociable and sociable. Largely thanks to such a childhood with constant moving, Olga Ushakova (TV presenter, whose photo is in our article) developed a talent for finding an approach to completely different people and the ability to find a common language with them.

About the childhood and early youth of Olga Ushakova

The Masliy family (this is the presenter's real surname) often moved from place to place because Olga's dad was a career military man. The nomadic way of life “slowed down” a little on the Crimean peninsula, where the family moved after Olya’s father’s next official assignment, and where the girl was born. By the way, the Masliy family had many children; in addition to the future “star” of Channel One, there were two more children in the family. Moving to a new place means new housing, and of course this is a new school, and Olya had to change schools more often than once every six months, so often her dad was sent to another place of work.

Children - they can sometimes be so cruel, especially in relation to the “new kids” in the class... A beautiful, self-confident girl did not always evoke friendly feelings among her peers when she found herself in an unfamiliar group. The Masliys moved first to Russia, then to Ukraine, and at each new place they began to tease Olya with “linking” to her previous place of residence. If she came to a Russian school, and before that she lived in Ukraine, she was immediately given the nickname “Khokhlushka.” And when it was the other way around (the move happened from Ukraine to a Russian city), they began to tease me with the offensive word “katsapka”. But we ran into the wrong thing! The girl immediately put the insolent people in their place, and when words did not help, she could gain authority with her fists.

She was sent to school at the age of six, and she immediately began to study with excellent marks. They write about many TV presenters, actors, and well-known personalities in show business: “He (she) dreamed (thought) about a career on television. Olya Masliy did not have a dream of getting on the big screen, but she often played out the interview process with her peers and relatives, picking up an object similar to a microphone: most often it was... a comb! The girl’s second hobby was to impersonate a newscaster: she would pick up a newspaper, sit in a “serious” pose at the table and read everything loudly, imitating TV presenters. And sometimes she simply began to retell a book she had recently read, or stopped a potential listener who had “fallen under attack” and spoke on some topic. And Olya could discuss anything: books, regardless of the content, scientific or fiction, she did not read, but “swallowed” in a few days, or even hours.

Then they got grades of four, even three, but as it turned out, Olga was given grades not for knowledge, but for behavior, or rather for fights. The girl’s parents were called to school by the angry teachers, the father or mother of the “victims” also showed up to show the bruises and abrasions on their children, and upon arriving home Olga’s mother and father scolded her a little (for appearances). No one could convince Olya that “teasing” on a national basis is normal: she was convinced that it didn’t matter what the last name was, who came from where, and to those who disagreed (after trying to persuade verbally) she still proved her point of view, giving into the eye. The result is that in the last school the girl graduated from, her authority was undeniable, and no one teased the beautiful and smart girl. The school was graduated with a gold medal, and Olya entered one of the oldest universities in the former Soviet Union - Karamzin Kharkov National University.

Education received and experience gained as a business woman

At school age, Ushakova loved to read and had a good memory. The girl got straight A's and graduated from school at the age of 16 with a gold medal. Then she entered Kharkov University. After graduation, together with her beloved young man, Olga began to actively engage in business. Living in Ukraine, the future star of the Russian screen was promoting famous foreign brands. Being quite a young girl, at the age of 23 she already headed one of the branches of a large trading company.

Biography

Olga Ushakova is a TV presenter at Channel One, co-host of the Good Morning program, and winner of the TEFI-2015 award.
Olga Ushakova is Crimean. The future TV presenter was presumably born on April 7, 1981. In addition to the girl, there were two more children growing up in the family.

The Ushakovs led a “nomadic” lifestyle: the head of the family was a military man. We had to move often. The family stayed in one place for no more than six months. Therefore, life itself taught Olga communication skills. The girl was forced to look for new friends at every new place, establish contacts with teachers and classmates.

For other children, such “migrations” turned into stress, but for Olga, moving turned into an adventure. The girl liked to settle into a new place and make friends. Olga got along well with her new classmates and learned to quickly gain authority in the team. Sometimes I had to use my fists to do this.

As Ushakova said in an interview, the conflicts took place on ethnic grounds. When the family moved to a Ukrainian city, Olga was called “katsapka,” when in a Russian city they called her “khokhlushka.” Being the most powerful argument, physical strength won. Parents were called to school, but Olya’s authority in the team was strengthened.

Olga Ushakova’s “nomadic” childhood turned out to be an excellent ground for developing the qualities necessary for the profession that the girl dreamed of from a young age. Olya often played the role of a television announcer. Having picked up any object that vaguely resembled a microphone, Ushakova could “cover events in the world” or “host a concert” for a long time.

And Olga Ushakova could talk for a long time and on any topic. The girl loved to read and “swallowed” books instantly. I went to school at the age of 6 and studied excellently. Any “four” or even more so “three” was perceived as a tragedy and was subject to immediate correction.

Ushakova graduated from school at the age of 16 with a gold medal. But I had to forget about my childhood dream for a long time. Olga entered Kharkov University. Upon graduation, I started doing business with my loved one. At the age of 23, Ushakova managed a branch of a trading company in Ukraine promoting European brands.

After moving to Moscow, finding herself in a new place, Olga suddenly wondered whether it was worth continuing her business or whether it was better to switch to something new. And then Ushakova remembered her childhood dream, which predetermined the girl’s creative biography. Olga did not take the decisive step, but her common-law husband convinced her to try.

Fatal move to Moscow

Olga Ushakova, a TV presenter whose biography changed dramatically after moving to Russia, dreamed of being an announcer or TV presenter since childhood. But life circumstances developed in such a way that the woman had to give up her dreams for a long time. Everything changed dramatically after she moved to Moscow.

In one interview, the TV presenter said that the move was due to the fact that her beloved man needed to be in the Russian capital, and she followed him. After the move, Olga doubted what she really wanted to do. Today she recalls that, seeing her swept away state, her beloved asked what she dreamed of becoming as a child, and Ushakova remembered that she always wanted to become a TV star.

Ushakova came to the main federal channel of Russia in 2004. The girl passed the audition and was accepted as a trainee. Only at first glance, Olga’s career on television developed rapidly. In fact, she, a person without a journalistic education, had to work hard before she was allowed on air.

First of all, Ushakova had to get rid of her accent and develop diction. Olga completed an internship in several departments to better understand the television “kitchen”. Learned to write and create news stories. And only after that the journalist was entrusted with running a news program, which she did for 9 years.

In 2014, Olga Ushakova “grew up” to host the “Good Morning” program on Channel One. Charge people with positivity and put them in a working mood. The bright and charming presenter coped with this task perfectly. This is evidenced by the TEFI award, which the morning program received in 2015 for the first time in the history of its existence. Of course, this is a huge merit of the presenter.

On the days when “Good Morning” is released, Olga Ushakova’s working day begins at half past two in the morning. After all, the program airs at 5 am. You need to get to work, put on makeup and get in a positive mood as soon as possible.

Coming to television

Initially, this idea seemed crazy, since Olya did not have a specialized education as an announcer or TV presenter. In 2004, auditions were held at Ostankino, and Olga Ushakova (TV presenter, who is loved by almost all viewers of Channel One today) decided to go to them at her own peril and risk. Unexpectedly, it turned out that the girl is very photogenic, the camera loves her, and she looks simply great in the frame.

But at the same time, the lack of experience in the media sphere, as well as a pronounced Ukrainian accent, could not allow her to instantly become the host of top programs. But at the same time, Channel One did not want to lose such an interesting type, and Olga was offered a position as an intern.

Interesting facts about Olga Ushakova

  1. She wakes up in the morning without problems (despite the fact that she is a night owl), but she always sets two alarms in the evening with an interval of ten minutes. And she has to get up on weekdays at five o’clock.

  5. Optimism is not just a character trait of presenter Ushakova, it is her way of life. “The only thing that can ruin my mood is the child’s illness, the rest is vanity and is not worth an ounce of negative emotions,” she says.
  6. Hard work does not leave much time for active recreation, but the woman sometimes manages to engage in her favorite sports - rock climbing and scuba diving.
  7. Books, as in childhood, occupy an important place in Olga’s life. When she is in Moscow and working, in her infrequent moments of rest she “unloads her brain” (her words) with mystical thrillers. Vacation, as she says, is a different matter, where you can get into a serious mood and read something from the classics.
  8. At over thirty years old, presenter Ushakova doesn’t even think about facial plastic surgery, and she doesn’t need it. Olga admits that she rarely goes to a cosmetologist, but tries to do it regularly: her favorite cosmetic procedures are ultrasonic facial cleansing and mesotherapy.
  9. Even in her youth she did not like meat, but then she completely abandoned it. Now she is gradually switching from vegetarianism to a plant-based raw food diet.

  11. The TV presenter explains the secret of her magnificent appearance simply: “If a person is immersed in sad thoughts, no procedures, no makeup will save him. And when a person is in a good mood, then there is no need for cosmetics - he shines with natural light.”

Hard work on yourself and well-deserved career growth

For almost a year, Olga Ushakova, a TV presenter whose husband supported her in all her endeavors and aspirations, studied the secrets of television behind the scenes. She took rhetoric lessons and studied speech techniques, tried to get rid of her accent and learned to write news articles and prepare news stories from them for broadcasts.

Gradually, the hope that someday she would be allowed on air began to leave Olga. And just at that moment a vacancy became available for a leading news program. Olga was offered this position, and she successfully held this position for 9 years.

In 2014, when no one doubted the professionalism of this woman, she became the host of the Good Morning program, which brought her recognition and love from viewers throughout Russia.

Olga Ushakova without cameras

Olga Ushakova’s sphere of interests is not limited to family concerns and professional activities. She is a very active person who does not accept passivity even during periods of rest.

Olga Ushakova

The TV star's hobbies include yoga, horse riding, gardening, expanding his horizons by visiting interesting places and, of course, traveling, where he practices rock climbing and scuba diving. The place of power of the optimist Olga is her native Crimea with its unsurpassed seascapes, healing air, and the intoxicating aroma of lush vegetation.

The secret of personal life

Olga really doesn’t like to talk about topics that concern the father of her children. In all her interviews, she emphasizes that she does not consider it necessary to make her personal life public. From time to time, completely different information appears in printed publications and on various information resources regarding the status of the relationship between Olga and the father of her children.

According to one of them, Ushakova and her husband are in a civil marriage. Others write that Olga and her husband divorced, but simply maintain good and warm relations.

Olga very carefully and tactfully avoids the topic of marriage and divorce, saying only that she and the father of her children have one common goal - to give them the best, make them happy and raise them to be worthy people. By the way, this mysterious couple has two children - two girls of the same age: Ksenia and Daria. For some unknown reason, despite the fact that the girls still have the same father, they are registered under different surnames. But Olga also does not expand on this mystery, just as she does not agree to name their father. Ushakova only says that this is a very correct person, who is much older than her and to whom she is very indebted, first of all, for moral support. The screen star also notes that this man always mentored her spiritually, encouraged her to spiritual self-development and self-improvement. It is simply impossible to find any negative statement from Olga that would concern the father of her children, since she always speaks about him only in the best way.

Personal life

By nature, Olga is a very versatile and cheerful person. In her spare time, she enjoys caring for her garden and animals. In addition, she likes to go to different museums and theaters.

Ushakova prefers not to talk about her personal life. It is only known that she has two daughters - Daria and Oksana, but there is practically no information about their father.

In any case, TV presenter Ushakova always speaks positively about her husband, which is already worthy of respect.

Olga Ushakova with her husband Adam and daughters

In 2021, news began to appear in the press that Olga Ushakova had a new boyfriend. According to some sources, the man does not live in Russia and works in the restaurant business.

In the summer of the same year, it finally became known that the young people had officially legalized their relationship.

The secret of a good mood and excellent appearance

Olga Ushakova, a TV presenter whose age haunts the majority of Channel One viewers, often becomes the subject of controversy and discussion on Internet forums, as she looks truly amazing. The TV presenter herself, apparently wanting to sometimes be a flirt, says that her make-up artists provide her with such a fresh and cheerful look in the morning. Of course, no one diminishes their merits, but Olga herself should be given her due. At the moment, she is 35 years old, but those who see her for the first time on television will never give her more than 25.

Olga endured two pregnancies, and, as she herself admits, after the second birth it was quite difficult for her to get back into shape. Ushakova said that after the birth of her second daughter, for the first time she began to like herself again only a year later. At first it was difficult to cope alone with two little girls, and there was a catastrophic lack of time for oneself. But when Olya got used to the role of a mother, she took care of herself. Of course, these were physical exercises, massages and cosmetic treatments. The main incentive that forced the TV presenter to achieve ideal forms was, of course, her daughters, for whom she wants to be an example in everything.

Olga also tries to ensure that there is always only healthy food in her kitchen, and, as far as possible, Ushakova tries to follow the principles of proper nutrition.

And, of course, her favorite work and the love of regular viewers is the catalyst that makes Olya remain cheerful and positive under any circumstances.

Work and career growth on Russian television

Olya’s internship lasted about a year, and her main task was to get rid of her very noticeable “southern” accent. She studied with specialists who taught her the correct speech and formed the correct pronunciation, studied carefully the “television kitchen”, agreed to any job, just to prove that she was worthy of working on Russian TV. She came for an interview at Ostankino in 2004: about a year of internship, and suddenly the position as a news anchor on Channel One became vacant. Olga is offered this position, and she agrees, although the working hours were extremely inconvenient for her: she needed a presenter for a news network broadcast to the Far East. Alternately with announcer Andrei Ukhachev, Olga Ushakova (she then took this pseudonym) worked there for four whole years, until 2009.

Many people write about the “rapid” and suspiciously fast career of the current “star” of the First. What if they themselves first tried to polish their pronunciation for a long time, interview completely different people every day, constantly “pass” a mountain of information through themselves, and then say it in a few words on the air. But note that Olya Ushakova does not have a journalistic education! This is how she later described the difficulties she faced then (and regularly has similar difficulties now):

“Announcers are no longer required to only “barely” read from a piece of paper; the presenter must freely present the news, add a fresh note to it, and interest the audience in the news. And if during the broadcast they “put” emergency information under your elbow, which must be voiced immediately, you must understand the topic!”

Olga was saved by her incredible erudition (thanks to all the books and magazines she read in childhood), excellent performance, ability to instantly navigate a situation, and of course, ambition - and how can you achieve success without healthy ambitions? After four years of a “rapid” career (this is sarcasm, if anything) she is transferred from “eastern” news to nightly ones. In 2010, the presenter’s work increased: she was entrusted with being an announcer in the “Other News” program. The project was opened due to the fact that often the story in the main news was topical and interesting, but there was simply not enough airtime to voice the story in detail. Presenter Ushakova, together with her colleague Sergei Babaev, told the audience about environmental problems, interesting events in sports, education, and leisure.

In 2013, Olga was entrusted with a responsible job: she was assigned the role of co-host in “Direct Line with the President of Russia.” She coped with this job brilliantly, and every year until 2017 she is the co-host of this annual program. The year 2014 for the First Channel of Russia is a period of new personnel changes: the working staff of the channel has become sharply younger, new interesting sections have appeared, the news now includes not only official topics, but also non-standard topical stories. Olga Ushakova, who was already a prominent figure on TV and has proven herself well, is being transferred to Good Morning.

The “Good Morning” project a year later received the TEFI award, and undoubtedly, Olya Ushakova had a lot to do with it. At the same time, the girl began to appear on a similar blog, “Good Day,” she is already truly popular and has an army of fans. In 2017, in collaboration with her Good Morning colleague Sergei Babaev, announcer Ushakova reached the finals of the All-Russian TV Workers Competition in the category “Best Morning Program Presenter.” Her competitor (alas, successful) in this competition was only Yulia Vysotskaya, who hosted the “Eating at Home” program at that time.

In interviews, the already well-known TV presenter of the main channel of Russia now often admits that in relation to her work, she has the “law of meanness in reverse.” Her way of life is a pronounced “night owl”: it is difficult for her to get up early in the morning, and it is difficult for her to start working early in the morning. However, over the years of working on television, she has managed to mobilize herself and “adjust” herself to an inconvenient schedule that she now gets up instantly, quickly gets herself in order, has breakfast on the run (more precisely, in the car), and now she is already sparkling from the screen with a radiant smile. Activity on television, as Olya Ushakova admits, has developed in her a kind of “live broadcast addiction”: she no longer imagines herself in another field of activity, only as a live broadcast announcer.
