Read the biography of Olga Sumskaya and find out all the most important things about her personal life and family. Olga Sumskaya is a Soviet and Ukrainian actress and TV presenter. Honored Artist of Ukraine, People's Artist of Ukraine, Laureate of the National Award of Ukraine named after Taras Shevchenko.
The sex symbol of Ukrainian cinema, Olga Sumskaya, is the embodiment of femininity, grooming and style. It's surprising that a confident gait, graceful movements and straight posture were not always the actress's best friends.
Olga began to develop all this already at a conscious age, so Sumskaya’s biography is an amazing example of a self-made woman.
Childhood and youth
Olga was born into a family of actors in August 1966, in the western Ukrainian city of Lvov. My parents worked at the Ivan Franko National Drama Theater and were constantly absent from work. Fortunately, Olga did not grow up alone, but with her older sister Natalya Sumskaya. It was in her care that the girl often found herself. The sisters often visited the theater and grew up behind the scenes. This determined their future: both chose the acting profession.
Parents have achieved considerable heights in the profession. Mother Anna Opanasenko became an Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR, and father Vyacheslav Sumskoy became a People's Artist of Ukraine. The older sister Natalya is the leading actress of the Ivan Franko Theater.

Olga Sumskaya in childhood with her father
Olga first appeared on stage at the age of 5. She played a small role in the play "Jenny Gerhardt". And the girl appeared on the screens when she turned 17. In “Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka,” the young artist got 3 roles at once: Muse, Sotnikovna and Pannochka.
It is not surprising that Sumskaya Jr. saw her future connected only with the profession of an actress. Therefore, I entered the Kiev Institute of Theater Arts.
From ugly duckling to swan
The actress herself admitted in an interview that as a child she was an ugly duckling. According to Olga, she was the tallest in the class and always slouched. In addition, poor eyesight forced the girl to wear huge glasses.
“Around the age of 16, I really was an ugly duckling. Huge glasses, tall, taller than everyone in the class, always hunched over. I didn't know anything about myself. Only later, when I entered the theater school, the teachers opened my eyes, as they say,” Sumskaya confesses.
Personal life
The actress is happy in her second marriage and is the mother of two children. The first union, in which Olga’s husband was colleague Evgeniy Paperny, lasted 4 years. According to the performer, already at the first meeting with her future husband, she realized that they were destined to be together. The relationship developed rapidly, despite the 16-year age difference. This marriage gave birth to a daughter, Antonina Papernaya, who followed in the footsteps of her parents and today is making a career in Russia.
Sumskaya’s personal life received a happy continuation immediately after the divorce: the young actress married colleague Vitaly Borisyuk. The couple met at a rehearsal of a play at the Russian Drama Theater and have not parted to this day. In 2002, the lovers had a daughter, Anna Borisyuk.

Star role

The groom Stefan tries his best to save his beloved, but the attempt fails. A simple resident of Rohatyn finds herself a powerless captive in the harem of the padishah of the Ottoman Empire.
While working on the series, Olga refused the help of understudies. The actress even managed the dangerous horse chase scene on her own, which delighted all members of the crew.
The series gained many fans, so almost immediately a sequel was filmed, called “Roksolana: The Caliph’s Beloved Wife.” In this part, Anastasia Lisovskaya is already the legal wife of Suleiman the Magnificent. Her main enemy is the eldest son of the padishah, Mustafa, who should inherit the throne after the death of his father.
Hobbies
Olga is not only an actress, but also a writer. At 50 years old, Sumskaya looks great; ancient recipes inherited from her great-grandmother help her stay young and slim. The star gladly shared her secrets with the fair sex in the book “Secrets of Beauty.”
Also, the performer of the role of Roksolana loves to cook and feed her husband and children delicious and original dishes. It is not surprising that her second book is dedicated to this hobby. “Cooking Together” is a work containing many ancient recipes. All of them have been repeatedly tested by the actress herself.
