Four attempts
Then Yuri began pole vaulting, and for some time he even planned to connect his life with athletics. But the young athlete did not last long, and at the age of 16 he returned to the local theater studio, where he plunged headlong into studying acting. Having received a matriculation certificate, Belyaev went to undergo compulsory military service in the missile forces.
After demobilization, Yuri worked for some time as a janitor, DOSAAF instructor, and auxiliary worker at the Moscow Art Theater. To obtain a diploma of higher education, Belyaev stormed the examination committee of the capital’s university for four years. In 1972, he finally managed to enroll, and he became a real student at the Shchukin School.
After receiving his diploma, Yuri was sent to the A. Ostrovsky Theater, where he worked for about two years. Then he transferred to the Taganka Theater, where he served for 35 years. Belyaev's dismissal was loud because he did not leave of his own free will. Due to the machinations of the director's wife, the actor had to leave the walls of his native institution. Yuri challenged the unfair decision in court and won the case, but did not return to the theater.
Rich filmography
For the first time on television, viewers saw the actor in the 1972 short film “Boots.” Following this work there were many small, diverse roles in such films as:
- "On the trail of the ruler";
- "Powder";
- "Airport from the service entrance";
- "Descended from heaven".
In 1987, Belyaev played the main role in the melodrama “Having Lied Once...”, in which he played the role of a physiognomist artist who knew no boundaries or refusals.
In the early 90s, Yuri continued to actively act in domestic cinema. He did not separate the main and minor roles; if he liked the plot, then he completely devoted himself to the work. Among the most popular works of that period are the following:
- "Sheremetyevo-2";
- “The Sukhovo-Kobylin Case”;
- "That woman in the window";
- "Thief".
In 2001, Belyaev played Nikita Banin, the main character in the 3-part action-packed film “Cobra,” dedicated to the special forces unit of the same name. This picture was liked by many Russian television viewers. In the same year, he starred in such famous films as “The Lion’s Share”, “Family Secrets”, “Russian Amazons”. 2007 was a busy year for Yuri, in which he replenished his creative treasury with nine projects at once.
A new wave of popularity overtook Belyaev in 2012, after the premiere of the multi-part film “The Personal Life of Investigator Savelyev.” In it, he brilliantly transformed into the image of the head of the Investigative Committee. In 2021, Yuri played the main roles in two films: “Petrovich” and “Teacher in Law. Fight,” but they did not bring much popularity to the actor.
In October 2021, Belyaev appeared in the guise of an FSB lieutenant general. It was a breathtaking dramatic picture of Sleepers. After the first episodes were shown, the project established itself as a rating project. Now Yuri is involved in the filming of such films as: “White Shaman” and “Miraculous”.

Love has no age
In 1971, Yuri met his future wife Galina, whom he dated for about a year. Then the young couple decided to legalize their relationship at the capital's registry office. In 1981, their daughter Olga was born, and six years later their son Alexey. When the children grew up, the Belyaev family broke up by mutual agreement.
Then Belyaev married a second time, but the actor never talks about this relationship. It is only known that in this marriage another heir was born - the son Alexander. In 2013, Yuri began an affair with actress Tatyana Abramova, who is 27 years younger than him . A year after they met, the creative couple, secretly from friends and relatives, signed in one of the St. Petersburg registry offices. Soon Tatyana and Yuri got married in church.
Love will come unexpectedly...
Before his fateful meeting with actress Tatyana Abramova in 2013, Yuri Belyaev was sure that he would never contact the actress. Many of his colleagues seemed deceitful and unreal to him. But one day at the Kinoshock festival in Anapa, he suddenly met a beautiful stranger with charming curls.
He watched raindrops flowing down the woman’s hair and realized that some unknown feeling was arising within him.
That evening, Yuri Belyaev and Tatyana Abramova, whose wedding took place a year after they met, could not stop talking for a long time. Belyaev was so excited and interested that he gave Tatyana a real interrogation. The actress even joked that he was probably a former journalist: Yuri literally bombarded her with questions.
But most of all Abramova was surprised that the actor knew nothing about her. And this despite the fact that they once starred in the same film, only without sharing scenes on the set!
Tatyana was immediately captivated by the fact that Yuri was able to find an approach to her sons. And one day he simply handed over the keys to his Moscow apartment so that the actress could stay there while he was on tour. Belyaev made his marriage proposal to Tatyana with a caveat: after the wedding, we’ll go get married right away!
The almost 30-year age difference does not prevent Yuri and Tatyana from living in perfect harmony.
Belyaev admits that his wife captivated him with her cheerfulness, and he even loved celebrating birthdays. And Tatyana admits that no one has ever surrounded her with such love and care as her current husband.
We learned about Yuri Belyaev, biography, personal life of the actor, his wives and children, and now let's look at a photo from the personal archive of the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
