Many people dream of giving their loved ones unforgettable romantic moments and holding a wedding, or at least a ceremony, in an unusual and beautiful place. And, of course, tropical islands are the ideal location for such an event.
Most recently, I was a special guest at a wedding ceremony and photo shoot that took place in the south of Bali. I know that some of our readers will find this very interesting. And today I will tell and show, including behind the scenes, how a wedding ceremony takes place in Bali.

About an hour and a half taxiing from Ubud and I’m on the Bukit Peninsula. Here, on a high cliff overlooking the ocean, between the two popular beaches of Dreamland and Balangan, there are beautiful golf courses.
And so they take me in a golf cart to the 15th hole, where a small wedding ceremony will take place today. I was invited here by the company GidNaBali.ru, one of whose priority areas of work is organizing original wedding ceremonies on the island of Bali.
I found myself on a private small beach, where an arch with flowers had already been installed right on the ocean shore, leading to it was a path of rose petals, a table with treats for the newlyweds and other attributes of the ceremony. Standing nearby is the person who will conduct the ceremony. Photographers, assistants, security guards and the rest of the team are ready, everyone is waiting for the newlyweds to arrive.
I got the impression that the director would now appear and click a special film clapperboard “scene such and such, take one” and... the action would begin! The bride and groom will come down the stairs, cameramen, their assistants, assistants and other characters will start working around them and will create a cool movie. For now, silence. And only the security guard politely explains to the lost surfer that this place is currently closed for a private event.
And so, the invisible director gives the go-ahead and everyone takes their places. The bride and groom are already descending onto the beach from a high cliff.
The first to appear is a smiling man of small stature. He plays one of the important roles; he is a wedding butler or personal assistant to the bride and groom. Behind him, a bride in a pale pink dress and an elegant groom in a respectable suit descend from the stairs. The newlyweds are a beautiful couple, I missed this moment, but as it should be in a good movie, they were prepared for the wedding ceremony with professional make-up.
The groom goes first to the arch, and the butler leads the bride. There are no guests at today’s ceremony, not counting me, but I’m more of an observer, all the other ten people present here are members of the team who are making this evening for two.
The man in the arch, dressed in the traditional white attire of the local priest, begins to lead the ceremony. He speaks in a quiet voice, with a beatific smile on his face. I don’t hear the words, because the ocean is raging with huge waves today, only the newlyweds hear them, and they are intended for them. A little further away, several photographers and a videographer are working; a pleasant romantic melody quietly sounds from a large speaker, complementing the whole picture.
Then, as expected, the bride and groom exchange a solemn agreement to be together, as well as rings, and sign a special certificate. And the romantic moment of kissing comes.
Then the ceremony quietly moves into the photo shoot stage, but at the same time the wedding process continues. Butler carefully adjusts the long hem of the bride's pale pink dress. The husband and wife are already emerging from under the flower arch, and at this time they are sprinkled with rose petals. The newlyweds approach the table where coconuts are waiting for them. They feed each other coconuts and wedding cake while the butler opens a bottle of white wine.
Romantic glasses, a brotherhood toast, kisses... and the photographers continue to work, inviting the newlyweds to walk along the beach, dance, sit on a stone near a small cave, and so on.
Darling Butler skillfully pulls out napkins to wipe drops of sweat from the faces of the newlyweds; it’s 25 degrees outside, but in wedding dresses, and even after a glass of wine, it’s a little hot. Butler skillfully masters the art of make-up; he skillfully corrects the bride’s makeup.
The sun is setting, the ocean is rising tide, and soon this little beach will be submerged. Photographers catch a few shots of the newlyweds in the rays of the setting sun, a few more shots with funny Mrs. and Mister “Just Married” signs, and the whole ceremony moves upstairs.
Next is a short walk along a green hill overlooking a beautiful sunset. Photographers and a videographer work here again. In the meantime, I’m admiring the views of both beaches. It should be noted that this is my first time on this hill and the views here are wonderful. Romantic hugs under the rays of the sun setting into the ocean, the photos should turn out nice for the guys.
And now the whole procession approaches the place of a romantic dinner on the top of a hill, from which views of the ocean open in three directions. Musicians with guitars approach a table decorated with flowers and begin to sing romantic songs. The photographers finish their work, leaving the newlyweds alone with the musicians and the festive dinner.
