Preparation
We found each other quite a long time ago, about 8 years ago, and maintained sincere friendly relations for a long time until we realized that we were family. When we are together, we don't need anyone at all. We both have a very strong passion for travel and are able to limit ourselves in everything, but not in travel. Lesha always knew that I loved the sky very much, and one fine day, when we were in Holland, he gave me a hot air balloon flight, where he proposed to me.
This is what served as the main symbol of our holiday. There were a lot of ideas on how to spend our wedding day to make it memorable, so that the decor embodied our hobbies and was unique. The task was not easy, but even then we both knew who would help us. I can’t say that we chose ArtJem - we just knew that this agency would be able to organize the wedding of our dreams.
The theme of travel and balloons in wedding decor is not new, but we did not want to repeat ourselves, although it was very difficult to come up with something new. Our coordinator helped us, and in the end we combined a mixture of our favorite color shades, a travel theme, and the exclusivity of the wedding design.
Where to start organizing a wedding?
You need to decide on the location of the wedding. It is ideal to celebrate a wedding in the summer outdoors where the decorations can look organic. However, if this is not possible, it is worth finding a premises in the Victorian style - a cafe, restaurant, old manor or estate. Considering the growing popularity of this style, you can find both premises and even ready-made decorations. The premises where the wedding will take place should have a lot of wood, stone, and iron. It would be ideal if the walls and floors are decorated with stone, and the tables and benches are made in a rustic style - wooden, wrought iron grilles, fireplaces. The rest can be supplemented with various kinds of antiques.

It is necessary to send out unusual wedding invitations. The creation of invitations must be taken very seriously, as this is a kind of wedding calling card. The simplest and cheapest option is invitation cards decorated with gears and clock hands that point to the time and date of the celebration. We boldly combined these elements in one style, which not only gave us scope for creating decorative details, but also helped us effectively realize, on the one hand, the romantic style of the past, and, on the other, preserve our wedding history.
Any meeting with contractors was not complete without happy laughter from all participants in the process. Everyone wanted to suggest, draw, talk about what could have happened on this wonderful day, which will always remind us of the brightest and most sincere emotions. And this day has come. The joy and warmth of the guests, happiness and love, everything shone with bright rays of positive emotions. The meeting of guests began with a wonderful welcome cocktail and a fabulously beautiful and delicious sweet table on the veranda among the pine forest.
And now, the exciting moment when two hearts become one has arrived. Guests were transported in a few minutes to the atmosphere of the last century, because the check-in area was decorated in the style of a retro train station: a wonderful entrance in the form of an arch with a delicate line of floral compositions and stylized benches where everyone could find a place for themselves, plunge for a moment into another world, into your romantic memories.
In the hall, wooden models of transport hung over each of the guest tables and served as a guide when choosing their seat. During the evening, our guests were entertained by a breathtaking amusement park-photo zone, where everyone could leave a piece of memory of this wonderful day.
Meeting point - steampunk laboratory
The first priority is to find a restaurant or premises in the style of the Victorian era. And then the only thing left to do is decorate the wedding hall.
Romantic and fantastic banquet hall
The aesthetics of the steampunk style are elements made of copper, leather, and mahogany. Antique chronometers, barometers, Victorian-style keys, metal candlesticks, an old typewriter, vintage photo frames - all these things are perfect for creating a steampunk atmosphere.
The wedding table menu should be exquisite: oysters, foie gras, truffles, beef consommé, steak, eclairs, strong brandy, wine. But we can say with confidence that not everyone knows exactly what they preferred in the Victorian era, so you can safely create your own menu. The main thing is to give up sandwiches and herring “under a fur coat”: they certainly couldn’t exist in prim England.

A wedding cake is not just a culinary masterpiece, but also a perfect mechanism. Therefore, to make the pastry chef understand you, show him a couple of photos of a steampunk cake.

They say that a wedding is a celebration of two people, and they can afford whatever they want, especially when choosing wedding images. This is a lie! No matter how extraordinary we wanted to look, we understood that our images had to match our event. Moreover, we were aware that at the wedding there would be not only friends, but also relatives who might not appreciate the flight of our imagination.
Therefore, our choice fell on a classic suit, matching the color scheme of the decor, and a dress with a matching belt. Since we were unpretentious in the design of our outfits, we spent very little time searching. True, there was a second dress, which was originally purchased for a wedding dance, but I also wore it for a photo walk.
Wedding in steampunk style: veil - no, top hat - yes
In the Victorian era, corsets, bows, lace, bustles, and high-top shoes were in fashion. The men wore equally elegant military-style clothing and goggles.
Steampunk bridal look
The bride's dress must be fluffy, with a narrow corseted waist. The dress can be either traditionally white or more original colors: blue, brown, purple, black. It is better to replace elegant high-heeled shoes with lace-up boots. We place a small cylinder with a flirty veil or feathers on the head.

We dress the groom in a tailcoat with a vest, a top hat and goggles. By the way, glasses do not have to be worn for their intended purpose: they belong on a hat.

Wedding rings can also be unique: silver with built-in clock gears.

- • When planning a wedding, base it on your priorities. What would be important for you to see on this day? What do you want to avoid? In our case, the main emphasis was on decor, music and program. These three components are equally important for us and for our guests.
- • Be sure to pay attention to the banquet menu: it is very important to understand which dishes are appropriate and which are not. Don't forget about allergies.
- • Consider a welcome table! We stayed late for the photo shoot and, so that the guests would not get bored and simply go for a walk in the forest, they were offered welcome drinks and treats.

A steampunk wedding, by definition, cannot be boring. Guests sitting at a table are not steampunk. Organize various kinds of contests and competitions. Let it be navigation in the area with a search for treasures, experiments, tricks, experiments, create decrees, etc. For games, come up with costumes, decorations, and tools. It’s good if the wedding banquet takes place in a spacious old hall. For example, the walls are decorated with antique maps and candelabra, the tablecloths are made of high-quality velvet, and the table is set with silver. A great idea is to hang a specific flying machine from the ceiling. In bouquets, use dried flowers along with fresh flowers. Add more steam (after all, steam means “steam”), both from dishes and special appliances. Create the illusion of the era of steamboats, steam locomotives and steam cars.
