DIY photo zone - types of frames, photo zone theme. Step-by-step instructions for making it yourself

Types of frames

Anyone can make a frame for a photo zone with their own hands, you just need to choose the appropriate materials and the method of their construction. Here is a list of common, simple variations:

The base for a banner or fabric fastening is easily assembled from a system of pipes and fasteners. With this assembly, urgent, quick replacement of connecting components is possible. In this regard, it is possible to easily edit the size and proportions. The only drawback of this design is the difficulty of attaching today’s PVC plastic to it.

One of the universal options is a structure made of wooden beams. It is not entirely comfortable to assemble, but this is compensated by its low cost and the ability to easily attach many materials to wood. Actually screwing, nailing, gluing and so on. For the base you can take wooden, metal supports, specially prepared cement forms.

Plywood board is a budget-friendly, easily processed material. It is easy to process and can be given almost any shape using a jigsaw. In addition, it is durable, which allows it to be used more than once

The outer side can be decorated with corrugated paper, multi-colored fabric, decorating components, self-adhesive film, or simply painted with paint. For the base of the structure during installation, you can use a support made of wood or metal.

A similar design is obtained from PVC sheets or foam board. But due to their weak strength, they are rarely used for large photo zones and for long periods of use. The ideal option from these materials is tantamaresque.

In cases where a large photo zone with evenly stretched fabric is needed, a frame or box made of timber is preferably used. Sometimes it makes sense to choose photo zones in the form of a screen. To make them, plywood panels are connected with special hinges.

DIY photo zone

Making a frame does not fully answer the question: how to make a photo zone with your own hands? This is only the first part of the work. The next significant point is the formation of decoration. There are a lot of decoration options. You will need various tools, materials and fun ideas.

You can make the blanks yourself using available materials, buy them in specialized stores, or order them from a craftsman. In one case or another, it is possible to create an unusual, individual photo zone for a celebration.

Fantas and other paper decorations

To be honest, this decorative element is called differently everywhere. This is simply a decorative fan folded from a long strip of paper. With phantoms you can very quickly cover a fairly large surface of the most inconspicuous wooden or plastic shield that you decide to turn into a photo zone. Here are many examples of their use in holiday decor.

There are quite a lot of master classes on the Internet that contain step-by-step instructions for making such a forfeit, and you can buy ready-made ones in “Everything for the Holiday” stores. Fant is also called a “decoration fan.”

Oh, by the way, by hanging pom-poms or Chinese hanging lanterns tightly, you will also get an excellent holiday backdrop. There are also paper stars, honeycomb balls, accordion balls, and tassel pom-poms. Follow the red links, everything is there with examples.

Wedding photo zone

When creating a photo zone for a wedding with your own hands, you can opt for snow-white bells for decorative elements. They are easy to make and do not take long, and the composition of them looks airy, light and is cost-effective.

To make it you will need: satin ribbon (from 10 meters), parchment paper, needle and thread, scissors and glue. In the first step, paper semicircles are cut out. Then they are rolled into a cone and secured with glue. After which the finished pieces are strung on a thread at a distance of about two centimeters from each other.

The edge of the thread is tied into a loop to be put on the ribbon. The more such conical chains there are, the more impressive the garland will look. You can tell the story by attaching a ribbon to the ceiling.

Garlands on strings

Surprisingly simple and amazingly beautiful at the same time. What’s even nicer is that such a photo zone can certainly be decorated according to the theme of the holiday. Who's stopping you from stringing... or even paper soccer balls? Hearts, flowers, birds, even simple triangular colored patches, and the background for photography looks great.

Instead of garlands, you can use Hawaiian beads, which are simply hung vertically next to each other. Very good!

Everything ready-made is now sold - Hawaiian beads and paper garlands.

Girl photo zone

You can make a photo zone with your own hands for the spring holiday of March 8 using paper flowers. They are formed from thin corrugated paper of any color. Rectangles of 0.5 by 0.25 m are cut, folded like an accordion, and one of the narrow edges is rounded using scissors.

The assembly unfolds, and the opposite rounded ends are fastened with glue or double-sided tape. All that remains is to straighten the flower and slightly crush it at the base. It is convenient to attach such bells to fabric using a needle and thread or a pin.

Thematic

Often, photo zones are designed in full accordance with the chosen wedding style , supplemented with accessories that match the theme:

  1. In rustic style (pastel shades, light chairs, light wooden background, flowers, barrel, straw hat and other attributes).
  2. Marine style usually involves a blue and white color scheme, and the area itself imitates part of a sea vessel (ship, boat, yacht or separate cabin). Possible decorative elements are a fishing net, ropes, anchor print, inflatable lifebuoy, steering wheel, etc.
  3. “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” – turquoise color and similar shades (blue, mint, silver), flowers, draperies, vintage font and black/white photographs printed on the banner.
  4. In nature - just choose a beautiful natural location with a picturesque landscape (garden, park, river bank). The option does not require complex preliminary preparation or high costs, but there are risks - weather and seasonal conditions.
  5. The autumn photo zone can be decorated in yellow-orange tones (decor - natural materials - physalis, fruit baskets, pumpkins, tree branches, voluminous paper flowers, leaves, etc.).
  6. Popular winter decorations are New Year's and Christmas themes (red and white shades, a small Christmas tree, candles or garlands, lanterns). An interesting winter option is to use a decorated bright sleigh as a shooting location. In a room, an area with a stylized fireplace is often chosen.
  7. The summer zone offers the widest choice of options and allows for almost all of the ideas listed. It is in the summer that most outdoor ceremonies are held, so natural locations are often used.
  8. The spring photo zone involves decorating with delicate fabric draperies and flowers.

In this case, a combination of several stylistic options and appropriate decor is possible.

Composition for the birthday boy's company

A DIY photo zone for a birthday will delight any birthday person. The most basic option is a small figured frame that you can easily hold in your hands. It can be used both at home and outdoors. Its main advantage is considered to be ease of movement.

Balloons are something that both big and small love. In this regard, a photo zone made from balloons with your own hands is especially popular.

It is recommended to use more matte, soft colors so as not to dull the brightness of the guests' clothing. For kids, it is appropriate to choose compositions from cartoons.

There are a lot of variations for a DIY birthday photo zone. Hanging pompoms, Chinese lanterns, balls, and stars will look festive and impressive.

They can be made from paper, felt or crocheted from floss threads. Or use garlands, to create which you need to glue butterflies, fish, and circles cut out of paper onto threads. Another option is to simply hang a lot of satin ribbons on a bar at a height of about two meters.

If the holiday takes place on the street, then the choice may fall on a themed fence. It’s good if there is a real one, but if not, then a separate fragment is built and decorated in a certain theme. It could be a nautical theme, a pirate theme, a superhero theme, and so on.

Balls

Helium balloons can fill the space against which your guests will pose. You can make several helium chains one above the other or put fountains of balloons on the floor (these are bundles of balloons on ropes of different lengths with a weight on the floor).

I don’t recommend making balloons that are too bright for the photo zone, as guests in colored clothes will get lost. Delicate colors (shades of green, gold, pink) or even balls of the same color will be very helpful in this case.

Vintage theme

In the modern world, many people want to be in the past, at least in photographs. To do this, you don’t have to go to expensive photo studios, since you can create a photo zone at home with your own hands. To do this, cover the wall with old newspapers and decorate it with vintage items. In addition to photography, this can be the highlight of a themed party.

Old, restored wooden furniture is suitable for outdoor photography. It will serve not only as decor, but also as a comfortable component for posing. It is important to choose a harmoniously looking background in this topic.

Paper plastic

It just seems that any of us can easily turn white sheets of paper into fantastic flowers. In fact, this work requires quite a lot of skill and patience. Of course, there are companies that specialize in making such decor, but you can make simple elements yourself.

If you also think about original lighting in soft colors, the flowers will come to life and turn every photo into a masterpiece. A great idea for a photo zone for a woman’s anniversary or wedding anniversary. Paper wedding :-).

I photographed such beauty at a recent exhibition.

Original ideas for any holiday

How else can you decorate a photo zone with your own hands? From a variety of available materials and even things that are unnecessary at first glance, you can uniquely decorate the frame.

Here are some possible unconventional and quirky ideas:

  • A stand with various clocks, which symbolizes seconds of happy moments spent together.
  • A book spread symbolizing the beginning of a new life together for the newlyweds.
  • Ajar doors are suitable for romantic photo shoots.
  • Disposable cardboard plates attached with double-sided tape to a wall or prefabricated frame will look killer at many parties. You can make any shape out of them: a circle, a heart, a rhombus, a number, a letter, and so on.
  • You can rent a chromakey background. It is often used in professional photography and videography. The idea is that the green background can be easily replaced on the computer with any other: space, farm, sea and other landscapes.

If there is no time left to create a photo zone, then a ready-made photo booth on sticks can come to the rescue. With their help, guests can have funny mustaches, glasses, ears, and hats in their photos.

Ready photo props on sticks

All these accessories can be placed in vases next to the photo zone. Guests can borrow and pose with the hat mustaches. By the way, at one holiday the photo zone itself was decorated with these items. These elegant pictures were simply attached with double-sided tape in a chaotic order on a white background. Very good! The cost is low, the design of such a photo zone is quite cheap, and it looks original.

Ready-made sets can contain from 4 to 30 items; you can find them based on a holiday theme or simply “about a birthday.” The photographs always turn out spectacular, since guests behave more relaxed with their accessories. Apparently, it seems to them that they have somehow covered themselves up)).

You can buy photo props HERE.

Pros of the photo zone

The photo zone has many advantages:

  • For a beautiful photograph, you just need to stand next to it and smile, without waiting for comments from the photographer about the pose and selection of the background.
  • If the hero of the occasion is late, then the guests will not have to be bored with nothing to do.
  • At the end of the holiday, you will be left with juicy and spectacular photographs.

DIY photo zones have a unique design and become a real decoration for any holiday. And creating them is not only interesting, but also economically profitable.
