But on the night of March 27, in the central district hospital of the city of Fatezh, she was brutally killed. How could this happen in the midst of a night shift in the red zone of the Covid department, the “Live Broadcast” program on the “Russia 1” channel was examined.
The suspect is a 30-year-old doctor, head of the intensive care unit, Andrei Suragin. During a party in honor of an award for the high achievements of hospital employees in the elevator between floors, he first beat and then strangled a fragile girl. According to some reports, her jaw and ribs were broken, her head was pierced, and there were traces of kicks on her body. Two women, a nurse and an orderly, came running to Irina’s screams. Suragin pushed one away, and caused a traumatic brain injury to the second, and another criminal case has been opened against him based on this episode.
Having committed the murder, Andrei went to the staff room, where two more young girls were waiting for Irina, and attacked them. The bruise on the doctor’s face, which some later mistook for traces of an “interrogation” by the police, was from a blow from a male paramedic; he came and “knocked out” the fanatic.
The girl's parents are divorced. The mother had a new husband who treated her stepdaughter well. She did her internship at the Fatezh Central District Hospital, and it ended that day. In the morning, Natalya and Ira’s stepfather went to pick up their daughter from the night shift, and they were told: she was killed. “My mother screamed: I won’t live. An ambulance was called to her ten times,” laments the deceased’s grandmother.
Irina's father, Konstantin Zhuk, lives in Moscow. In the studio of the program, he said that in the summer, after finishing her fourth year, her daughter was supposed to get married - in Kursk she had a loved one whom they had been dating for a long time. And after that she was going to make a decision: to stay in the regional center or to leave, as she dreamed, to the capital, where an apartment “signed off” by her father and a place in residency, which he had agreed upon, were already waiting for her.
According to Konstantin, his ex-wife told him that the married doctor was harassing their daughter. Zhuk does not understand how a person like Suragin was kept at work at all: it turned out that he harassed not only many young hospital employees, but even patients!
“Suragin is a creature and cannot be called a person,” says Yana Poplavskaya. For monsters like him, the actress suggests returning the death penalty. And the artist, whose both grandmothers and many of her friends are doctors, proposed introducing a psychological examination of doctors: they are experiencing the effect of burnout from work, professional deformation of the personality.
Medical expert with 30 years of experience, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Irina Filatova also agreed with Irina’s proposal. At the same time, she emphasized that resuscitators are generally a special caste among doctors: therapists and especially surgeons see in them their support and hope.
At the same time, experts are sure: no burnout can lead to what Suragin did. Initially, there was something wrong with his head, and he should not have gone into medicine at all. They cannot attribute Andrei’s action to his possible intoxication at the party: “It is in the blood of any normal doctor to do no harm and save. No matter what condition you are in.” Meanwhile, according to public figure Roman Alekhin, Suragin was registered in a mental hospital in Uzlovaya, Tula region, where he is from and where he is still registered.
“I understand that my actions caused a murder. But there was no intent. I didn't want her to die. If you think that I’m some kind of malicious killer or someone, then no,” says Andrei Suragin, who was taken into custody from behind bars. Irina’s uncle, Sergei Zhuk, is amazed that no one from the hospital came to the murdered woman’s family, did not apologize, or express condolences. “Suragin is trying to reclassify the charge from premeditated murder to negligent murder,” a lawyer in the studio comments on the murderer’s statement. “But the hospital does not make itself known, because it does not want to even indirectly admit its involvement in the crime.”

- Already built. During quarantine, we also completed a bathhouse and a guest house. We also have a large four-room apartment. My son and his wife, my grandson, and Varyusha (Klim’s wife’s daughter from a previous marriage - editor’s note ) will live in my Moscow apartment for now. But, naturally, we will move between the house and the apartment. Although we are mostly in the house now - it is near Moscow, in Sofrino. It’s very convenient for us, it’s very close, we built it for this purpose. The drive is about 45 minutes or an hour. By Moscow standards, when you can drive around the city for two hours, this is very fast. For example, I get to Ostankino in an hour.

And my foundation cooperates with the Khabensky Foundation, we are engaged in educational programs for children who are seriously ill. And it seems to me that using a woman like me as just hands is ridiculous. I believe that parental work, affection, love and understanding of what a difficult parental lot is, appear only when you yourself grow your own piece of a person who becomes big. And then you will attribute all your mistakes or parental victories to yourself, and not sort things out with your grandmothers. Therefore, I will be a gift option.
