Elizaveta Andreevna Gyrdymova
(born June 1, 1998, Yekaterinburg, Russia) is a Russian singer, musician, composer and songwriter.

[edit] Biography

Elizaveta was born on June 1, 1998 in Yekaterinburg. His father is a builder by profession, his mother works in the tourism industry. In 2005, Lisa went to first grade at MAOU Secondary School No. 32 with in-depth study of individual subjects (music, fine arts, literature, MHC), where she studied for 9 years, receiving general and musical education in piano; In addition, she attended a ballet club. In 2014, Elizaveta entered the tenth grade at the UrFU Scientific Research Center. After graduating from school, Elizaveta applied for admission to EGTI (Literary Creativity),[1] UrFU (Philology),[2][3]GITIS (Producing)[4] and VGIK. After graduating from eleven classes, in 2021 Lisa will enroll in the specialty “Producing” at VGIK as a correspondence course.[5][6] The reason why Lisa chose VGIK was her love for classical cinema. The choice of the specialty “Producing” was based on the fact that at this faculty one can also gain knowledge in the field of economics and law, and Elizaveta preferred the correspondence course of study because she would like to have a more or less free schedule to work[7]. Currently, Elizaveta continues her studies at VGIK and is doing an internship in her native Yekaterinburg on the ETV channel, where she regularly produces joint projects with Alexandra Aksenova.[8]

Lisa really likes to play the piano and write poetry[9], she also loves to cross-stitch and read Russian classics[10], and her work consists of simple but ironic songs on socially important topics[9][11]. In terms of texts, Elizabeth prefers simple meanings that are understandable to everyone. She is attracted to the Internet and everything connected with it. The choice of topics for songs is related to Lisa’s attitude to the things around her: from everyday life to extremely unpleasant or, on the contrary, joyful phenomena[9].

Initially, Elizabeth saw her target audience as fifteen-year-old girls “with pink hair,” but eventually people of completely different age categories, regardless of gender, began to pay attention to the singer’s work[9]. 80% of Monetochka’s audience are men from eighteen to thirty[12]. At first, the popularity of her own creativity surprised and even frightened Lisa a little, but she is glad that there are people around who are ready to support her[9].

Frank banter in Lisa's texts is combined with common sense on the verge of cynicism. Excellent command of words and precise orientation in the signs of the times are seasoned with charming naivety[13]. Elizabeth believes that every person should have an active civic position and not be indifferent to what is happening around him, even if it does not affect him personally. Lisa clearly separates the concepts of show business and creativity and gives preference to the latter[14]. Elizabeth gives the impression of a modest girl, but not shy and able to politely communicate with listeners[15].

Who is Monetochka’s producer, who writes her songs, why does she have such a voice?

The singer’s angelic appearance and her touching voice seem to be created for lyrical and romantic songs in the pop style. But Lisa decided otherwise and began to sing caustic and sometimes a little rude songs on social issues.

Why does such a voice, a little childish, a little naive, sing such controversial and socially relevant songs? Who writes music and lyrics for Lisa? Monetochka is the author and performer of her own hits. She doesn’t have a producer yet, but it’s probably a matter of time. After all, many “mastodons” of Russian show business are probably already rubbing their hands in anticipation of cooperation with a promising star.

The phenomenal success of the Ekaterinburg schoolgirl shook up the entire, slightly silted cohort of Russian performers. Many of them did not fail to criticize the young talent, they say, “he didn’t eat a ton of salt,” but he immediately broke through to Olympus. They wonder how a simple schoolgirl became popular?

But the fact remains a fact, and the daring red-haired girl goes further and further, pushing aside the “stars” who have already set their teeth on edge. The new generation dictates new rules. Among the millions of similar girls who post their creative impulses on YouTube, it was Monetochka who found her listener. The people choose and the people have their own reasons for this.

Biography and personal life of Monetochka (singer)

As already mentioned, Lisa was born and raised in the Urals, on the first day of summer 1998. It is noteworthy that her family is in no way connected with show business. Her father, Andrey Gyrdymov, is a builder by profession, and her mother, Elena Gyrdymova, previously worked as a manager at a travel agency, and now helps her daughter with organizing performances.

An interesting fact: until the ninth grade, little Lisa studied at an art school, with an in-depth study of poetry and music. It was there that the little girl learned notes and learned to play the keyboard. At the same time, Lisa went to a ballet club. She eagerly participated in a variety of performances and competitions. But it is worth noting that she never seriously thought about becoming a musical performer.

The biography and personal life of Monetochka (singer) changed dramatically when the girl turned fifteen and she entered a special school at a state university. There they devoted a lot of time to the direct formation of the students’ personalities and their cultural development. Thus, Lizaveta began to compose lyrics and music for them, and then publish them on her profile on social networks under the special nickname “Monetochka”.

According to Elizabeth herself, when she registered on the social network, she had no desire to write her real last name. That’s why she wrote in rhyme – Lizaveta Moneta. And in fact, the pseudonym “Monetochka” itself was created independently. The girl was very surprised when her songs began to gain popularity among young people, and even the first fans began to appear. There, on the Internet, the young performer met famous rappers, including Noize MC and Gnoyny. They appreciated the girl’s work and even invited her to work together. Lisa certainly could not have dreamed of something like this.

After graduating from school, Lizaveta was able to decide for herself to leave her parents’ home to move to the capital. There she entered correspondence studies at VGIK with a degree in Producer. I settled in a dormitory for out-of-town students. It was there that she was able to immerse herself in the atmosphere that she so missed in her parents' home. And she chose this specialty because of her great love for classical cinema, as well as to satisfy her desire for knowledge in economics.

Biography and personal life of Monetochka (singer) photo

Elizaveta posted her debut song, called “For Classmates,” on her VKontakte profile back in the fall of 2015. Next, several more songs were posted, performed in an innocent, gentle voice to the accompaniment of keyboards. Despite the singer’s rather gentle appearance, the topics she raised in her songs were far from the most childish. The theme for her songs was irony over the values of today's youth, the political situation in Ukraine, and so on.

It is interesting that, if at the very beginning of her musical career her fans were exclusively teenage girls, then over time men began to join the audience of listeners. What is remarkable is that they are of completely different ages. Lisa’s personal acquaintance with such famous rappers as Noize MC and Gnoyny, as well as collabs with them, added much more popularity to Lisa.

Having moved to the Russian capital, the young performer recorded her debut album, which included co-authored works with the above-mentioned musicians. The album, released two years ago, was called “Psychedelic Cloud Rap.” It’s impossible not to notice that the music video for the song “G. Rubchinsky” the rappers filmed without Lisa. Instead, in the video there was a certain girl with her face covered with a coin. At first, the singer was very upset by this, because it turned out that the rappers took all the glory for themselves. But over time, she began to view the incident more as a learning experience, and from it she was able to draw useful conclusions. Currently, all compositions from this disc are completely freely available, and on the social network Vkontakte you can find the official public page of Monetochka with the so-called “opposition” compositions, as stated in the description of the public page.

Currently, all of Elizabeth’s personal space is occupied by study and the creative component. Therefore, she has absolutely no time left for romance. Of course, she had a boyfriend whom she dated in high school. But they broke up when Lizaveta began to gain fame - to put it simply, he could not stand the test of fame and decided that he had had enough. Despite this very unfortunate incident, Lizochka has not at all lost faith in romance and has absolutely no doubt that she will meet the love of her life. If only because men make up the majority of her listeners.

This year, Monetochka released a new album called “Coloring Books for Adults.” To support him, a concert was organized in the capital right on the performer’s birthday, and the official video “Zaporozhets” was released. It contains irony over a recent event that occurred in Elon Musk’s corporation - Tesla was launched into space.

Shortly before this amazing event, Lisa visited the “Evening Urgant” program, where she sang one of her last songs. The quality of her songs has increased significantly, and this was appreciated by both music critics and listeners. It is noteworthy that absolutely all the songs from this album were included in the TOP 100 Yandex Music rating. The first position was taken by the song “Nymphomaniac”.

Childhood and adolescence

Lisa was born and raised in the Urals in a family that had nothing to do with music and creativity. Father, Andrey Evstigneevich, is a builder by profession. Mom, Elena Alekseevna, used to work as a manager in a travel company, then she began helping her daughter with organizing concerts.

From early childhood, Lisa was distinguished by her love of music and literature, had a keen sense of poetry and tried to write poetry herself. Until the ninth grade, she studied at an art school, where a lot of time was devoted to music and literature. There the girl learned to play the piano and mastered musical notation. At the same time, Lisa studied ballet, willingly took part in various creative competitions and concerts, but did not seriously think about a career as a singer.

Everything changed at the age of fifteen, when Gyrdymova moved to a specialized school at the Ural University, where great importance was attached to the development of students’ personalities and their individual development. Lisa began writing songs and posting them on her social media page under the pseudonym Monetochka.

According to Lisa, when she registered on social networks, she did not want to indicate her real last name, so she introduced herself as “Elizaveta Moneta” - simply because it rhymed. And the pseudonym Monetochka came up with itself.

To her surprise, the songs aroused the interest of the youth audience, and the number of her fans began to grow rapidly. The girl met famous rappers on the Internet, including Noize MC, who appreciated her work and offered cooperation.

After graduating from school, Lisa made the difficult decision to leave her father’s house and moved to Moscow. She entered the correspondence department of the production department of VGIK and settled in a student dormitory, where she plunged headlong into the unique atmosphere of creativity and freedom, which she so lacked in her hometown. The choice fell on the specialty “Producer”, as it could satisfy the girl’s love for cinema and teach knowledge in the field of economics.

[edit] Interviews and media publications

On January 25, 2021, the large daily youth Internet site “Furfur.me” published 12 tracks by Elizaveta, titling them as the album “Psychedelic Cloud Rap.” This was the first publication of the singer’s work on such a large Internet platform, which played a significant role in Monetochka’s gaining popularity.[63]

After the publication on “furfur.me”, various Internet media, for example InterMedia, began to actively write about Elizabeth, presenting the same album “Psychedelic Cloud Rap”.[64]

The Flow website published a few words about Monetochka and the sensational album.[65]

The informal portal “Dystopia” published an interview with Elizaveta and her album.[66]

On February 1, the AfishaDaily portal published an interview with the young Internet star.[67]

On February 4, 2021, Elizaveta became a guest on the Ekaterinburg channel ETV. The interview and several songs were broadcast live. At the time of the interview, about fourteen thousand people had already subscribed to the singer’s official public page.[68]

The Internet news portal IMC interviewed Elizaveta, asking questions about both musical creativity and the singer’s personal social position.[69]

Correspondents of the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper interviewed Elizaveta and found out what the Internet star was doing during school quarantine.[70]

Even in March, the excitement was still not dying down: “Arguments of the Week” wrote about Monetochka and the unusual style of her texts.[71]

In April, Elizaveta became a guest of the “Let's Go Home” programs on the Dozhd TV channel.[72]

On April 18, 2021, the case of Semyon Kochkin thundered throughout the world: the British broadcasting organization BBC published an article about the criminal prosecution of Cheboksary resident Semyon Kochkin for reposting a song and picture containing Nazi symbols from the official Monetochka page on VKontakte.[73]

After being published by the BBC, the news was broadcast by media in many other countries.

On the day of publication of the video for the song “Went to the Realists,” Monetochka again gave an interview to the AfishaDaily portal.[74]

Childhood and youth

Elizaveta Gyrdymova was born in 1998 in Yekaterinburg. The girl celebrates her birthday on June 1st. Despite the fact that the parents’ professions are far from art (father works as a builder, and mother is a manager in a travel agency), adults have always supported their daughter’s interest in creativity and music. In an interview with The Flow, Lisa said that they even watched the meeting of rappers Oxxxymiron and Gnoyny together.

The girl composed her first couplet at the age of 4. The family archive contains a video in which Lisa, drawing water from a spring, says: “Trickle, trickle, give us water for tea.” As she grew older, the schoolgirl began sharing her creativity on poetry websites. The theme is unrequited love and war. Monetochka is skeptical about her own poems of that time.

Monetochka and her dad
Seeing their daughter’s desire for creativity, her parents sent her to study at MAOU Secondary School No. 32. In this school in Yekaterinburg, special attention is paid to the study of painting, music, literature and world artistic culture. At the same time, the future performer begins to study ballet. Here Lisa received not only a general education, but also a musical education in piano.

After nine grades, the girl enters the specialized educational and scientific center of the Ural Federal University, where she completes the 10th and 11th grades. In her free time from studying, Lisa did cross-stitch and read Russian classical literature. She also liked “stupid shows on TV.” In an interview with the E1.ru portal, the artist recommended “Fashion for dogs from Beverly Hills” to “rest the head.”

Before popularity fell on her, the girl dreamed of becoming a teacher. From music I preferred “Ranetok” and Zemfira. In high school I became a fan of Noize MC - I liked simple and at the same time accurate texts. Posting her own tracks on the Internet with simple chords, Monetochka least of all expected that she would receive a response from Noize MC himself.

Creative path

Lisa posted her first song “For Odnoklassniki” on her VKontakte page in the fall of 2015.
It was followed by seven tracks performed in the singer’s signature style. Despite her touching voice and angelic appearance, the topics raised in the songs were not at all childish, such as the situation in Ukraine and irony over the values of modern youth. If at first her fans were teenage girls with multi-colored hair, then over time the majority of her audience began to be men, and of completely different age groups. The singer’s acquaintance with the rappers Gnoin and Noize MC and subsequent collaborations with them: “Chilfdri”, “Gosha Rubchinsky”, etc. added to the singer’s even greater popularity. Noize MC feat. Monetochka - Childfree Having moved to Moscow, the girl recorded the album “Psychedelic Cloud Rap” (2016), which included joint tracks with these performers. True, the video for the song “Gosha Rubchinsky” was filmed by Zamai and Slava CPSU without Lisa, replacing her in the video with an abstract girl with a coin instead of a face. The singer was at first upset by the behavior of the rappers, who took all the laurels for themselves, but over time she began to perceive this incident as a useful experience, from which she drew appropriate conclusions. All songs from the album were available for free download, and an official Monetochka group appeared on VKontakte with “opposition songs for girls,” as stated in the description. Monetochka - The Last Disco In the spring of 2021, the mini-album “I-Lisa” of 6 tracks was released. The singer also recorded several songs that were not included in the albums: “I went to the realists” (her first official video was recorded for the same song), “The Last Disco” (a story about a school graduation with a spectacular video), “Mom, I’m not zigging” (a parody of “Woman, I don’t dance” by Stas Kostyushkin). In 2021, Monetochka’s new album, “Coloring Books for Adults,” was released. In his support, on June 1, the singer’s birthday, a concert was held in Moscow and a presentation of a new video for the song “Zaporozhets”, where the performer sneered at the recent feat of Elon Musk’s company - the Tesla launched into space.

Monetochka - “Every time” in the “Evening Urgant” program Shortly before this significant event, Monetochka became a guest of the “Evening Urgant” program and performed one of her new compositions in it. The increased quality of the new compositions was noted by both listeners and critics. All songs from the album were included in the Yandex Music top 100 chart, with the composition “Nymphomaniac” taking first place. In August, the singer posted a video online for the song “90” - a parody of the film “Brother”. Coin – 90
