A bouquet of irises as an option for a wedding bouquet. Is the risk worth it?

Iris flower - meaning, symbol

Iris petals have a bizarre, unusual shape and resemble strange butterflies fluttering in flight. This is especially noticeable when a light breeze blows and the flowers sway. The iris is so loved that it is not only worshiped as a beautiful flower, but dances are also dedicated to it. This is what the iris looks like when dancing.

In Japan, irises represent the fortitude and courage of warriors. Probably because the leaves of these flowers resemble Japanese swords. The flower itself, with its unusual shape and color scheme, echoes the universe, which is boundless in its uniqueness.

  • Blue and light blue irises , reminiscent of the color of the sky, represent calm and are believed to improve well-being and relieve stress.

Spring collection “Bouquet of Irises”

The creation of this collection was inspired by the paintings of Claude Monet. And, in particular, his garden with irises. The main idea when creating the collection was to create universal, laconic jewelry with exquisite decor.

Since 1883, Claude Monet lived and worked in his estate in Giverny, which he turned into a paradise on earth - with luxurious flowers, ponds with water lilies and the now famous Japanese bridge. This garden was Monet's main source of inspiration during the last period of his work. You can literally feel how in all his works he tries to capture and convey the atmosphere of a riot of colors of nature and flowers.

Iris translated from Greek means rainbow. I am fascinated by the color combinations in each fragile iris flower. I wanted to create jewelry that would repeat the color palette in a laconic form. It had to be something universal. For example, so that earrings can be worn both to the office and to a cafe with friends, and so that they fit organically into the image everywhere. For the most part, I create voluminous jewelry, but for everyday wear, for girls leading an active lifestyle, small but noticeable jewelry is more suitable - accents!

The rainbow is a variety of colors, beauty that can awaken sublime feelings in a person. The concept of this collection I conceived contains the message that wherever you go, no matter what the weather is outside, the calm colors of jewelry with bright accents will direct your feelings and moods in a calm, joyful direction and invite you to smile

The word “ring” is derived from the Old Church Slavonic root “kolo” - wheel, circle. In ancient times, it was believed that any knot tied on clothing, hair, or wrist protected a person from evil. The person in the next circle was inaccessible to evil spirits. Thus, our ancestors used rings primarily as a talisman...

I also “packed” the iris flower into this ancient form of symbol. I liked that the color of the skin sets off the yellow and orange veins of the irises on the ring pattern and they seem to glow from within.

Members of monastic orders and secret political societies used rings as a kind of pass or identification card. Despite its long history, rings remain at the peak of popularity today. What can a handmade ring say about you? Buyers of these products, first of all, are people who love art and at the same time have a fairly high level of income. Individuals who need a certain level of self-esteem. These consumers have a high level of education, as they can find out what is encrypted in the collections, while they monitor fashion trends.

And to what extent I was able to implement my plans is up to you to decide.

With love, me.

Bottom line

Despite all its beauty, the iris is a whimsical and capricious flower. It is worth taking good care of it so that it does not lose its colorful appearance by the middle of the celebration. The bride does not always manage to do this.

In this case, ask one of your friends or a witness to be responsible for the bouquet. For example, you don't always have to carry a flower. Let the girl take it during a walk and at least sprinkle it with water. In a cafe, make sure that the bouquet is in a vase in front of the bride and groom.

What flowers go well with irises in a bouquet?

How to choose?

The symbolism of irises means that spouses are faithful and sincere with each other. The flower itself is pure and naive, just like the connection between two lovers.

Many will be surprised, but in fact there are more than 800 varieties of irises in the plant world. If you look at summer cottages, you may come across one variety. When you go to a flower shop, you will be surprised to see a completely different variety of flower plants.

All of them belong to the iris genus. Florists are especially fond of the so-called bearded variety. It is best suited for making a bouquet. Its undeniable advantages are the color, size and shape, thanks to which you can easily create beautiful flower arrangements.

In order to decide on a wedding bouquet, it is worth considering what color combination you would like to see. In fact, another advantage of irises is their undeniable beauty and independence. The plants are so bright and colorful that they can easily be used separately.

How to compose

Irises are universal in the sense that they can look self-sufficient in a mono bouquet without adding other plants and decorations, but at the same time they look no worse in a composite composition. This flower allows you to create different bouquet shapes.

  • Hemispherical. This is the most common option for a wedding, since the bouquet is compact and convenient. It can be composed only of irises or with the addition of other plants, including field plants.
  • Cascade. In this case, the flowers fall from the bouquet, and the length can be different; there are even floor-length options. This composition looks good in combination with bright iris buds and a lot of decorative greenery.
  • On long stems. If you plan to create a mono-bouquet of irises, then the composition will look impressive without a porta-bouquet, where the long stems are trimmed to the same length and tied with a satin ribbon.

If the bride decides to make a bouquet on her own, she will need to purchase the irises themselves, additional plants and, if desired, decorative elements. If the composition is made up of different flowers, then you will need a porta bouquet with an oasis, which will not allow the buds to wither. They begin to compose the bouquet from the middle, choosing the largest and most beautiful flowers for it. You need to immediately add decorative greenery and decorations so that the composition looks harmonious.

With white roses

Roses are considered a classic wedding flower because they not only look attractive, but also symbolize love.

In particular, the white buds of this plant are identified with purity, innocence, sincere feelings and fidelity.

And now wedding bouquets with irises and roses have also become popular; a photo of such a composition shows that this is an almost ideal combination of colors.

After all, they do not interrupt each other; on the contrary, both flowers will maintain balance and create a harmonious image of the bride. The buds of the queen of flowers will look great with any shade of iris, but the most spectacular tandem is considered to be a classic wedding bouquet: white roses and blue or purple irises. It can be supplemented with sprigs of gypsophila, satin ribbons or rhinestones glued to some rose petals.

Blue mono bouquet

Deep blue color has always been considered a symbol of calm, mystery and nobility. In the case of irises, this shade symbolizes focus and achievement of goals. A wedding bouquet with blue irises is most common, since the bride’s image with it is irresistible.

The composition will not look too simple, since the blue buds of this flower have yellow petals closer to the core. Even in a bouquet without additional decorations, such irises look rich and elegant.

With tulips

Another harbinger of warm days is the tulip, which has been revered at all times.

The meaning of this flower varies depending on the shade of the bud, but in any case it is tenderness, love and passion at the same time.

Since the tulip comes in different colors, you can choose original combinations with irises.

This tandem is considered popular - a wedding bouquet of tulips and irises in blue or blue shades in combination with a large amount of natural greenery. To create a delicate image of the bride, you can combine pink tulips and purple or blue irises. The latter can be combined with red tulips to create a sensual look.

With chrysanthemums

Chrysanthemum is an unusual flower that personifies the sun in the countries of the East. At the same time, the plant symbolizes love and happiness; other nations have such meanings as fidelity, dignity, honor and greatness. A wedding bouquet of irises and chrysanthemums is a classic option for those who prefer a minimalist style.

Interesting! If you believe in omens, be sure to look at what flowers at a wedding can mean.

White chrysanthemums will harmoniously combine with bright blue irises; in some cases, large yellow roses are added to this tandem. Pink chrysanthemums will go well with lilac or purple irises.

Bouquet of irises and roses

A bouquet of roses is considered a universal gift for all occasions. Romantic meetings, weddings, anniversaries and even sad moments cannot be done without it. If such a bouquet is given to a woman by a man, she can be quite sure that this man is not indifferent to her and may even be in love with her.

A bouquet of irises and roses can be delicate if the roses have a soft shade and dazzlingly catchy if the roses have a rich, bright color.

In a bouquet of roses and irises, irises can play both a major and a secondary role. This way they can emphasize the beauty of roses and, along with these beauties, act as the main characters of the bouquet or be completely invisible. If you want to give a bouquet to a bright woman, choose roses of rich color and irises of the same rich color.

Symbolism and meaning

Iris flowers have different meanings. For some, this flower signified royal power, for others it was a powerful amulet. Today, this plant is interpreted differently by modern floristry. If these flowers are combined into a bouquet for the bride, they indicate the indestructible union of two souls, the sincerity of feelings, and the strength of the marriage.

A more accurate decoding of the symbolism can be obtained by talking separately about the shades of colors:

  1. A bouquet of blue irises means nobility.
  2. Violet shades - fidelity despite emerging difficulties.
  3. White flowers mean purity and innocence.
  4. Red shades - passionate love.
  5. Pink color - peacefulness, tenderness, affection.

A mixture of red and yellow shades denotes calmness and friendliness. Such flowers improve your mood and fill you with solar energy.
