Zhivopisny Bridge in Moscow - where it is and how to get there

An outdoor wedding ceremony is in fashion - it is unusual, beautiful and adapts to your desires. At the same time, thousands of couples every year choose official registration at the registry office because of two significant advantages: it is significantly cheaper, and does not require any time or effort for preparation. In addition, due to the correct acoustics, strict surroundings and classical music, the atmosphere is often more solemn than at some outdoor ceremonies. For those looking for a Wedding Palace that doesn't look like a relic of the past, we've collected 10 of the most beautiful registry offices in Moscow. The list does not include the registry office on the Zhivopisny Bridge, which has not yet opened, but we will definitely tell you about it as soon as it opens its doors.

Wedding Palace No. 1 (Griboyedovsky Civil Registry Office)

The most famous registry office in the country, although not the most beautiful registry office in Moscow, copes with the task of creating the right atmosphere - luxurious staircases, large halls, stucco moldings and gilding help in this. Celebrities love to get married here, so there is a high chance of seeing a media person and being the first to know about his wedding.

The popularity of this place has its drawbacks, because getting the coveted wedding ticket in the high season is not easy - in the first 2 months of summer alone, almost 1,300 applications were submitted to the Griboyedovsky registry office! Many couples still spend the night in front of the entrance, but this is not a guarantee of getting the time you need.

Where to take photos: inside the building, on stairs and in corridors. There is no room for photos outside; the front entrance leads onto the road.

Registry office in the Turandot restaurant

In 2021, you can conduct an official on-site marriage registration in Turandot. Only the standard state fee of 350 rubles is paid, as in any other registry office in Moscow. The application can be submitted through the Moscow government services portal, through the MFC or by visiting the Tsaritsyn Civil Registry Office department. Registration is held in the Silver Hall once a month. There are quite a lot of people who want to register a marriage in Turandot, so you need to book a place in advance.

From Turandot, several doors also lead to the halls of the Casta Diva restaurant. There I also shoot for a greater variety of interiors.

This place is unique in its beauty and variety of interiors. You won't find a similar place in Moscow. Of particular note is the Florentine courtyard, designed in the Renaissance style. Luxurious Central Hall and private rooms. Porcelain and Silver halls, a luxurious staircase. Such an abundance of diverse, luxurious interiors is very important for a wedding photo shoot. The number of photographs here is limited only by the time, imagination and capabilities of the photographer.

The transparent roof of the Florence courtyard creates soft natural light.

Feedback from newlyweds

about my work at their wedding:

Thank you very much to Alexey for the wonderful shots of our wedding! We received wonderful photos that are very nice to look at again and again! I couldn’t even imagine that I was such a beautiful bride!

Alexey chose the best locations, the perfect light and helped us convey in the photo all the emotions that we wanted to express to each other! Wedding photos only have one chance to succeed and cannot be remade. We completely trusted our photographer, we were very worried, but the result exceeded our expectations!

A wedding photographer is a friend and assistant, and we are very glad that Alexey helped us!

A selection of beautiful wedding photos

Photography in Turandot is paid. You purchase a certificate that gives you the right to conduct a wedding photo shoot in the interiors and have dinner for the amount of the deposit. In general, for a full-fledged, high-quality shooting, you need to allocate 2-3 hours of pure time. I recommend shooting with an assistant, because... the interiors are quite dark, and only with good key lighting can you get high-quality, artistic photographs.

Meshchansky registry office

Not popular, but, in our opinion, one of the most beautiful registry offices in Moscow. The halls in blue tones are decorated impressively and tastefully, and the formal hall is in no way inferior to them. The building was designed by the architect V.I. Bazhenov for a wealthy merchant, so the atmosphere inside is appropriate. Important practical information: The registration hall is small, so it is recommended to invite up to 20 guests. In addition, there may be difficulties with parking - it is very small.

Where to take photos: inside the building, make full use of the blue halls.

Book romance

Photo: Shutterstock This story began in 1992 after the publication of the novel “Three Meters Above the Sky” by the Italian writer Federico Moccia. The plot of the melodrama is not new and rather banal, if not for one “but”: on the Ponte Milvio bridge in Rome, the main characters of the book - a 17-year-old excellent student and a 19-year-old street hooligan - perform a romantic ritual. The action is simple: they wrapped a chain around a lamppost and hung a lock on it. And they threw the key into the Tiber River, vowing to love each other forever. In 2014, the novel was filmed, and the original book sold a million copies. But the filmmakers did not calm down, and made three more films based on the tear-jerking literary bestseller, exciting fragile minds and hearts around the world. For hundreds of thousands of undecided couples in love and already decided newlyweds, the Milvian Bridge became a place of pilgrimage: under the pressure of surging feelings, tourists hung so many locks on it that in 2007 one of the lampposts collapsed under their weight. Realizing that love is a terrible force, in order to avoid further destruction, the authorities collected all the “artifacts of passion” and sent them to the Capitol for storage, and imposed a fine for unauthorized “wetting” of the bridge.

The film “I Want You” is a sequel to the drama “Three Meters Above the Sky” (2007, Italy). Be that as it may, the script idea invented by the Italian romantic writer began its victorious march across the planet: following the ancient city, the “keyhouse” The epidemic also spread to other cities. And already in 2014, a difficult fate befell the Pont des Arts in Paris: the railings could not withstand the 45-ton locking mass and were swallowed up by the abyss of the Seine. In addition, apparently preaching the principle “love is blind,” the lovers rushed to attach symbolic locks not only on bridges, but in general on everything that came to hand - lanterns, benches, fences... Municipal authorities were puzzled by the question of how to protect the city infrastructure from such promiscuity and emotional vandalism? And they came up with an idea: they began to install artificial baits in parks and embankments - “trees of love”, specially designed to be hung with locks.

Zheleznodorozhnensky Civil Registry Office

The registry office is a surprise, there is no other way to call it. Behind a dubious-looking facade that looks like an inexpensive shopping center building lies a stunning registry office! Spacious, modern, with a magnificent interior. Just look how beautiful it is here:

Where to take pictures: inside the building, the interiors of all the halls are good. Near the registry office there are many attractions that are also worthy of photos, for example, the Troitskoye-Kainaradzhi estate in Pavlino.

Tagansky Civil Registry Office

Not only one of the most beautiful registry offices in Moscow, but also one of the most sincere. In the reviews, many newlyweds praise the elegant reception hall and friendly staff, always ready to help.

The hall is small, so it is recommended to invite up to 20 guests. The parking lot nearby is very small. In addition, there is a monastery nearby and many people can gather on weekends, take this into account when planning your wedding.

Kuskovo

If you find fault, then this, of course, is not a registry office, but a place for on-site registration. But it is carried out officially and carried out by the Perovsky Department of the Civil Registry Office (the application is submitted there). An 18th-century Italian house located on the pond of a small lake in the heart of Kuskovo Park is rented for the ceremony.

Where to take pictures: inside the house and, of course, on the territory of Kuskovo.

Story

In the early 2000s, local authorities announced a competition for the development of a bridge project, which was planned to be installed across the Moscow River between the Serebryany Bor ecological park and the Krylatsky Hills conservation area. The presence of two important natural monuments near the construction site created some restrictions. Traditional bridge structures were no longer suitable, so we had to look for a special solution in the development of the project. As a result, the bridge began to be built along the river, and not across it, in order to leave the protected areas of the parks untouched and not interfere with passing ships.

Nikolai Shumakov, known for creating the interiors of the Moscow metro, Vnukovo airport, and the Moscow monorail, was appointed the architect of the Zhivopisny Bridge. For the project of the Zhivopisny Bridge, Shumakov was awarded the Auguste Perret Prize.

Construction of the bridge lasted from 2004 to 2007, and in 2009 it was planned to open a restaurant in a glass capsule located at the very top, under the arch. But the project had to be suspended due to flaws in the bridge design. Today, construction work continues inside the ellipsoid, so the capsule is closed to the public.

Wedding Palace No. 5

If not the most beautiful registry office in Moscow, then definitely the most unusual - Izmailovsky. It is located on the territory of the Izmailovo Kremlin and from the outside it looks like a gingerbread house or a fairy-tale tower. Inside, everything is quite standard, although nice.

Where to take pictures: against the backdrop of the Izmailovsky registry office, the Kremlin territory and next to it.

Wedding Palace No. 4

Inside, the Savyolovsky registry office looks solemn and spacious; the staircase to the second floor looks especially impressive. There's plenty of space and even on a weekend it doesn't feel like you're wading through a crowd on a busy street.

If you marry a foreigner, you will be sent here without fail - in Moscow, only Wedding Palace No. 4 registers marriages with citizens of the USA, Europe and other countries outside the CIS.

Zhivopisny Bridge design and observation deck

© Denis Erofeev

The Zhivopisny Bridge is a cable-stayed arched structure. The cable stays are fixed to the bridge foundation, which is supported by 20–40 meter piles. In turn, the piles rest on cement-filled limestone. To prevent the bridge arch from swaying in the wind, one of the supports is equipped with German-made oil shock absorbers.

The roadway is divided into eight lanes; there are sidewalks on both sides of the roadway, to which staircases lead. At the bend of the arch, at an altitude of more than 100 meters, a glass capsule made in the shape of an ellipsoid is fixed. It is the central part of the observation deck of the Zhivopisny Bridge, and from a distance it resembles a flying saucer. On one side of the capsule there is a gallery bridge, and on the other there is an evacuation bridge to Serebryany Bor. You can climb to the observation deck using special lifts.

Muscovites are looking forward to the opening of the most unusual registry office in the capital. The Wedding Palace should start operating on the Zhivopisny Bridge in the near future. One hall of the registry office will be located at the foot of the bridge, on the right bank of the Moscow River, and the other will be in a glass ellipsoid, where the happy newlyweds and their guests will ascend on durable elevators.

As of 2021, not all technical problems have been eliminated, so exact deadlines for the completion of construction work have not been established.

The formal hall in this registry office looks cool - white color, modern interior, mirrors, and the registration area is located in a special decorative gazebo indoors.
