10 best places for a wedding photo shoot in Moscow

Wedding photo shoot at the Baltschug Kempinski Hotel

The Baltschug Kempinski Hotel is a respectable place for a wedding photo shoot in the center of Moscow. It impresses not only with its appearance, but also with the luxury and sophistication of its interiors; it is a real pearl of architectural and design art.

The location in the very center of the city is a huge plus; the main attractions of Moscow are just a stone's throw away. There is a panoramic platform on the roof of the hotel, which offers views of Red Square and the Kremlin.

The hotel has many halls, a hall with wrought-iron staircases and crystal chandeliers, a library and a giant atrium with tropical plants; stylistic unity is felt in all interiors.

You can continue your wedding photo shoot with a walk through the center of Moscow; you leave the hotel, and in just a couple of minutes you find yourself in the very heart of the capital!

Red Square and Zaryadye Park

Red Square can rightfully be called the main symbol of the capital; this is where many tourists go when visiting the city for the first time.

It is not surprising that many couples want to have a wedding photo shoot on Red Square. There really is something to see here; the historical center of the city is replete with ancient architecture, the scale of which is impressive.

Zaryadye Park

The landscapes of Zaryadye Park will help diversify the architectural background of wedding photographs; despite the fact that it opened only recently, Muscovites and guests of the capital have already fallen in love with it.

Here, many unusual plants are collected in one place, there are paths, bridges and benches. Well, the location is very good; you can walk here from Red Square in a few minutes. I don’t recommend Zaryadye Park as a separate place for a photo shoot; it’s better to combine it with Red Square, this way you’ll get more diverse shots.

GUM

If suddenly the weather on your wedding day is bad, you can go for a photo shoot at GUM, another bright symbol of the capital. Inside there are many bridges and beautiful large staircases. And the transparent roof of the second floor allows you to photograph with natural light during the day.

The only thing that is important to take into account is that prior permission is required for filming in GUM; it is free and can be obtained on the website. Security rarely, but still asks for permission, so I recommend getting it in advance.

Wedding photo shoot in Zaryadye

Advantages of the location

  • Lots of beautiful scenery in one place
  • There is both architecture and parkland
  • In bad weather you can take photos indoors
  • The location is well located in the heart of the city

Flaws

  • Very very crowded
  • To show the beauty of locations, you need to take a lot of panoramic shots, which means there will be unnecessary people in the photo
  • It's almost always windy on Red Square
  • The paving stones are uncomfortable to walk on, the bride needs flat shoes

Wedding walk in the Main Botanical Garden

Many couples strive to spend their summer wedding photo shoot outdoors. The Main Botanical Garden and the Apothecary Garden are perhaps the two most popular indoor green areas in Moscow. The advantage of the Apothecary Garden is that it is located closer to the center, but because of this it is always crowded. The main Botanical Garden is located further from the center, and there are much fewer people there, which is good for a wedding photographer.

The botanical garden is striking in its scale - a huge well-groomed area with paths, flowers and lawns, plus several halls with high glass vaults, which are spacious and light; it seems that this place was created for photography. The bride in a wedding dress stands out impressively against the background of tropical plants.

Last summer was rainy, and the main botanical garden became a lifesaver for me. Rain on your wedding day is a good omen, but not all brides are ready to walk through puddles in a white dress. A big plus compared to photo studios is that you don’t need to book a shooting location in advance, you can just show up and decide everything on the spot.

Botanical Garden

An unforgettable photo session in Moscow can be held in the Main Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

photo 3

Just walking along the alleys of the garden, you can see a lot of picturesque places, as if specially waiting for the bride and groom to be captured in their photographs. There are six expositions in the garden, which present plants from the botanical and geographical zones of Russia and, separately, “Useful plants of wild nature.”

The Japanese Garden deserves special attention - in the spring, during the cherry blossom period, the atmosphere here becomes simply magical. Above the ponds there is a garden of coastal plants, not far from it there is a rose garden, not far from it there is a stock and new greenhouse. The botanical garden is open all year round; no prior approval is required for wedding photography.

It is enough to pay for the entrance ticket and a ticket for the right to take photos and videos.

The main botanical garden certainly has its pros and cons:

  • advantages - nature, in almost every corner of the garden you can find an interesting panorama for filming, there are few people;
  • disadvantages - lack of a toilet, long distances, in winter only the central alleys are cleared of snow.

It is advisable to invite a creative photographer who loves his job.

Having shown imagination, he will be able to take advantage of the landscape and make photographs look like fairy-tale illustrations.

The Loft Club on Tulskaya

Most lofts are located in old factory buildings, so they look similar from the outside, with red brick walls that can provide a vibrant, textured backdrop for wedding photos. If you are lucky with the weather and the sun comes out, the terracotta color will appear even brighter.

Such sites are usually not highlighted like the top ones, but they are very interesting for shooting, so when I walk around the city, I always mark them for myself. It is not necessary to go to this particular loft; they are scattered throughout the center of Moscow. It was here, near The Loft Club, that we ended up, because the banquet was held nearby - at Space & Place.

Wedding walk in Tsaritsino

The palace complex is surrounded by a beautiful park; you can have a beautiful wedding photo shoot here against the backdrop of recognizable places, or climb somewhere deeper; there are a lot of locations - lawns, ancient buildings, flower beds, a pond, bridges, and a relatively “wild” forest. In Tsaritsino you can implement many ideas for a wedding photo shoot in nature.

The large area allows you to take a walk away from crowds of tourists, and during rain, you can travel back several centuries to the palace interiors.

Advantages and disadvantages

Pros and cons of including a botanical garden in your wedding itinerary
If you choose the Main Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences as the location for your wedding photo shoot, you will definitely get a lot of positive emotions and beautiful photos.

pros

pros

  • there are many areas in the garden where you can take beautiful photographs;
  • noticeable variety of flowers and plants;
  • close location to other interesting places for a photo shoot.

Minuses

Minuses

  • The huge area of the garden means a long walk to the filming locations;
  • visitors rollerblade and bicycle;
  • Hundreds of people regularly walk here, which can somewhat interfere with a photo shoot.

Wedding at the Turandot restaurant

Palace interiors are easy to find in an old estate outside the city, but in the center of Moscow this is more difficult. Restaurant Turandot is an exception to the rule; it is located in the very heart of the city, and the interior amazes with palace luxury - gilding, stucco, heavy chandeliers, exquisite table settings.

A wedding photo shoot can be organized not only inside, but also on the summer terrace. When photographing, you need to take into account that the inside of the restaurant is quite dark, and additional lighting sources will be useful.

Wedding walk in Kolomenskoye

Many couples are looking for places of interest for a wedding walk, but this approach is not at all close to me. I like Kolomenskoye Park because here you can find secluded untouched corners of nature, where the main emphasis will be on the bride and groom, and the greenery plays only the role of a neutral background.

In this shoot, we took a series of photographs in the thicket of the forest, additionally using a white smoke bomb for a fog effect. In spring, the couple will look beautiful against the backdrop of a blooming apple orchard. Since the territory is very large, there are several entrances to the reserve, thanks to this it is possible to approach from the right direction, without having to walk through the entire territory and waste precious minutes.

Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow

A photo session in the Botanical Garden always leaves a pleasant impression, since you can not only take colorful photographs, but also take a romantic walk through picturesque places.

One of the favorite places for wedding walks in Moscow can be considered the Main Botanical Garden named after N.V. Tsitsin RAS, which is one of the largest botanical gardens in Europe. The garden contains exhibitions of tropical and subtropical plants, an arboretum, as well as ornamental and cultural plants. Exotic lovers can visit the Japanese Garden, where you can find flowering plants, streams, and terraces. What’s not a great backdrop for wedding photos?!

The garden has a rich collection of plants, many of which are not typical for the vast expanses of Russia. Every 200 meters the landscape of the garden changes: cozy shady alleys smoothly “transition” into incredibly beautiful flowering compositions, majestic groves give way to romantic ponds where you can take a boat ride. A photo shoot in such a place will allow you to choose a wide variety of angles for photos.

The main building of the Botanical Garden looks beautiful, which has high arches and columns and is located next to the pond. This ancient building makes a wonderful backdrop for wedding photos, where peeking out from behind the columns in your crisp white wedding dress can capture some amazing shots.

It is especially beautiful in the garden in summer or spring, but autumn landscapes are also mesmerizing, especially in sunny weather. You can always find a couple of cozy corners where there will be practically no vacationers. Fresh air and pleasant scenery will allow you to have a great time surrounded by your loved one and the photographer.

Pros:

  • The Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow has a total area of 361 hectares, which will allow you to spend hours walking around the park in search of the most successful shots.
  • The Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences has many exclusive exhibitions that will make your photo session unforgettable.
  • In the garden you can not only have a photo shoot, but also relax on a bench by the pond or in the shady alleys.
  • Thanks to the large area, you get the feeling that the garden is not full of tourists and vacationers, and here you can take a break from the bustle of the capital.
  • There is a boat station in the garden where you can rent a boat for a photo shoot.

Minuses:

  • Like most parks, the Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences does not have enough cafes and WS, but this fact may not bother you if you visit the park for just an hour.
  • Be careful with ideas for a photo shoot, as in the Botanical Garden it is strictly forbidden to walk on the lawns, or pick any plants or berries.

Time for inspection: 2-3 hours.

Entrance fee: yes.

Location: outdoors.

The website www.svadbagolik.ru is confident that you will be greatly impressed if you decide to visit the Botanical Garden. Lots of great photos and a boost of energy are guaranteed.

Photo session at Bridge Studio

New fresh studio in the very center of Moscow near the Kuznetsky Most metro station. When we rented it for a wedding photo shoot, the building was just being reconstructed, the façade was covered with a screen and the windows were covered with beams, but this only worked to my advantage - an unusual geometry, a rhythm of light and shadow arose.

The advantage is not only the location in the city center, but also the fact that hall rental starts from one hour. On your wedding day, when every minute is important, choosing studios where the minimum rental time is 3 hours is not at all profitable. At Bridge Studio you can take photographs in several interiors at once.

Places for a wedding photo shoot in Moscow in summer

Summer is the time of year when you can realize almost any idea for a wedding photo shoot. Here are some ideas.

Banquet ship

Do you want to go on a trip with your guests on your wedding day? Rent a banquet ship and set sail along the Moscow River. The landscapes around you will be constantly changing, so you will have time to take a large number of bright shots - alone or with guests. A photo session can be arranged on the upper deck, and a banquet can be organized in the lower part. When the shooting is completed, guests can be invited to the open deck and have a barbecue or open air party.

Photo session at the airport

A private airfield is an unusual place for a love story. If on your wedding day you want to take impressive shots with airplanes in the background, go to Verkhneye Myachkovo (Ramensky district of the Moscow region). At the Condor-M flying club you can rent the entire territory of the airfield and several pieces of flying equipment for a photo shoot: Robinson helicopters, Cessna-172, Yak-52, L-29 aircraft. Rental cost: 5,000 rubles for 3 hours. To add even more romance to your holiday, rent a plane or helicopter for a short air ride. You can also take a photographer with you.

China town

If you want to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of old Moscow, go for a walk through the narrow streets in the Kitay-Gorod metro area. We were lucky - not only ancient buildings appeared in the frame, but also a charismatic retro car.

This place is perfect for a beautiful wedding walk or a love story photo shoot.

Wedding morning in loft style – Loft 1905

The morning of the wedding day, which I will tell you about, we filmed in the Loft 1905 studio in the Gray Loft hall. The hall is very large, designed in the same style, and I like this, because often new studios try to create several areas for shooting in one interior - one wall in one style, another in another. And here there is a solid interior - no matter where you turn, it’s a single space. Plus there is access to your own terrace where you can continue filming.

Lofts are characterized by a combination of old and new. Against the background of antique brickwork, walls with plaster showing through in places and a wooden floor with cracks, modern designer furniture looks advantageous. In this room, the loft style is fully manifested, as it should be.

The hall has its own dressing room with lamp lighting, this is convenient for the makeup artist, and makes it possible to take several unusual shots along the way.

Photo session in Gorky Park

Gorky Park is a convenient and beautiful place for a wedding walk or a love story photo shoot in the center of Moscow. Recently, the territory was connected to the Muzeon art park, and the common space now seems endless.

You can go on a photo trip for the whole day - Gorky Park smoothly flows into Neskuchny Garden, which overlooks the Sparrow Hills, so you can walk here for a very long time. Cafes and restaurants scattered throughout the area will provide a cozy shelter when it rains. The Pushkin Bridge is adjacent to Gorky Park, where you can also hide from the rain, but I would advise visiting it in sunny weather, because at such moments amazing light appears and geometry appears.

Beautiful places for a wedding photo shoot in the city

In addition to filming in the studio, a wedding photo shoot can be held in other interesting places in Moscow. Here are just a few of them.

Apartments in Moscow City

Do you want all of Moscow to be at your feet on your wedding day? Rent an apartment for a business photo shoot. Four rooms with panoramic views are located in the Moscow Tower on the 63rd floor. The apartments are decorated with balloons and rose petals. Here you will be offered a glass of sparkling champagne, and romantic music will be in the background.

Rental cost is from 3900 to 6900 rubles per hour (depending on the time of day and day of the week). The services of a professional photographer and 30-40 processed images are included in the price.

Secret balcony for two

If you are looking for unusual places in Moscow where you can arrange a wedding photo shoot for two, pay attention to this location. A small secret balcony is located on the roof of one of the houses on Nikolskaya Street. From here you have a stunning view of the center of the Russian capital: you can even see the towers of the Moscow Kremlin. Spend some time alone, stopping the wedding bustle. After the photographer takes a few striking shots, you can go to another beautiful place and continue shooting.

City parks

A walk through one of the Moscow parks is a classic and win-win option for a wedding photo shoot in good weather. You can go to Khodynskoye Field with its hilly landscape and panoramic swings. Or take a few shots near Novodevichy Pond against the backdrop of weeping willows, the crowns of which descend into the water. In Neskuchny Garden there are locations with thickets of ferns and tall pine trees, in Zaryadye there are secluded corners with views of St. Basil's Cathedral. Consult a photographer - a true professional will know the best places for your photos.

Wedding photo shoot in Morozovka

The modern park hotel is located in an old noble estate, as if created for a beautiful photo shoot.

You can take a wedding walk in the park surrounding the mansion. The well-groomed grounds with trees, perfectly trimmed lawns, rotundas and lush flower beds are impressive. If it suddenly rains, it is easy to continue the walk in the estate itself. A luxurious library, music salon, vintage staircase and billiard room will be excellent settings for photographing a couple. In the old days, balls were given in the halls of the estate, and the bride in a formal dress looks very organic in this interior, it seems that at any moment a mazurka or polonaise will be announced.

On the territory of Morozovka there is an active church where it is possible to get married. Nowadays, many people strive to hold a wedding on one site, so as not to waste time on long journeys. This is especially true for Moscow, with its enormous size. In Morozovka, a wedding can be organized from start to finish, with on-site registration, a beautiful photo shoot, a banquet, and guests can be comfortably accommodated.

Wedding walk in the Hermitage garden

A picturesque location for a wedding photo shoot in the center of Moscow near Red Square. Ancient buildings with textured brick walls are surrounded by greenery, there is a lake in the park, but the main attraction, in my opinion, is the gazebo-pavilions with lace latticework, similar to giant Chinese lanterns.

The gazebos are quite spacious - inside you can not only conduct on-site registration, but also hide from the rain with your guests.

Vorontsovsky Park

The colorful “Vorontsovo Estate”, more widely known as “Vorontsov Park”, is a historical and architectural complex and recreation area in the South-Western district of Moscow. You can start wedding photography right at the entrance to the park. The entrance gate with a guard tower looks very elegant and will become a good backdrop.

photo 8

Then you can take a series of photographs at the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity, and from there walk along the picturesque Northern Alley to the Northern Wing, which is part of a group of buildings in the center of the park.

Although these buildings are far from palaces, especially since some of them are under restoration, those that have already been restored look very presentable . Nearby there are five cascading ponds and several wooden bridges across them, a good place for romantic photos. The park has picturesque nature, well-groomed oak and birch alleys, an oak grove with 200-year-old trees.

Like other places for a photo shoot in Moscow, Vorontsov Park has positive and negative sides: advantages - free entry and free photography, disadvantages - there are many vacationers on weekends.

Park "Trubetskoy Estate in Khamovniki"

A beautiful place for a wedding photo shoot in nature is the Trubetskoy estate. The park with a large green area with deciduous trees is located near Gorky Park.

I like that it is not crowded here, you can calmly walk along the paths among the trees, meet squirrels, feed the ducks on the pond, and, if you wish, do a photo shoot on horseback.

Boring Garden

Neskuchny Garden is probably one of the oldest parks in Moscow. Located in the historical center of the city, on the right bank of the Moscow River. Founded at the beginning of the nineteenth century, during the reign of Nicholas I, the park is a real work of landscape art.

photo 1

The abundance of greenery, almost a “forest” landscape, makes the park an excellent backdrop for wedding photography. Also in the park there are many attractions, against which you can take excellent, colorful photographs.

You should probably start your photo session with the Ivan (Giovanni) Vitali “Boys” fountain, in front of the Alexandrinsky Palace, which can be accessed from Leninsky Prospekt.

In this case, during the wedding walk, it will be possible to visit almost all the beautiful places in the Neskuchny Garden one by one and finish filming at the Hunting Lodge, where the program “What? Where? When?".

photo 2

Another remarkable architectural object is the Summer House of Count Orlov - a two-story mansion surrounded by trees. The Grotto and Bath House are interesting only from a historical point of view, since they fell into disrepair. Next comes the rotunda gazebo in honor of the 800th anniversary of Moscow (1947) and the “Alley of Lovers” located nearby.

The photos here come out light with excellent perspective. Of course, the huge openwork arcade made of wood deserves attention, against which not only the newlyweds, but also “ordinary” visitors to the park consider it their duty to take photos.

Of course, when choosing a place for a photo shoot, you should take into account its positive and negative sides.

The following can be said about Neskuchny Garden:

  • advantages - architectural monuments, picturesque landscapes, many good angles for staged photos, free entry;
  • Disadvantages - lack of parking and inconvenient access; you will have to get to the garden on foot.

Not far from the park there is the Pushkinsky (Andreevsky) Bridge, in the covered gallery of which you can wait out the rain and continue your photo shoot.

Love story photo shoot in the Arma Zavod business center

An urban loft space with interesting light and a combination of glass and brick. I noted this site for myself when I was once looking for places to photograph a couple with a car. It’s convenient that cars have free entry here, you can take cool shots against the backdrop of unusual architecture and drive around the territory.

In Armagh I shot a love story, and in this shoot my love for geometry was fully demonstrated, we caught the rays of the sun, the play of light, and silhouettes. A wedding stroll here will also look cool.

Stock greenhouse. Photography.

In the Old Stock Greenhouse you can conduct private, wedding, advertising photo/video shooting.

During photography, it is PROHIBITED to bring live plants (potted plants, cut flowers, bouquets) into the greenhouse, move plants in the greenhouse, go beyond the paths, damage plants, attach any decorative elements to plants, step on plants, or expose yourself. There are fines for violating these prohibitions.

Wedding photo shoot at the Milan Hotel

In the center of Moscow there are many studios and venues where you can photograph a wedding walk, but there is practically nothing near the Moscow Ring Road, and every find becomes valuable for the photographer, because if the banquet is organized somewhere nearby, it’s time to spend time traveling to the center for the sake of a walk I do not want. Hotel Milan is located in the Orekhovo metro area. Last year I had several weddings that took place far from the center, the summer was rainy, and this hotel became a real Must Have.

Why do I like him? First of all, Milan has a glass roof! During bad weather, when the sun goes down and it gets dark outside, there is enough light coming into the hotel to take natural-lit shots.

Secondly, the stylish modern interior with contrasting black and white solutions and classic elements - a staircase with wrought iron railings, spectacular chandeliers and expensive furniture - attracts attention. Plus an exclusive detail - a helipad on the roof!
