Dmitry was born in the town of Ruza near Moscow. A rather large baby was born in 1957, on July 4th. From a very early age the boy was very artistic. He enjoyed performing for audiences including parents, kindergarten teachers, teachers, and ordinary passers-by. He was not shy, unlike many children, to tell people poems and sing songs. Dmitry did not see himself in sports. He was attracted to art, he simply dreamed of the stage, of acting in films. One day, a mother, looking at her son’s attempts to achieve success in school productions and get the main role, told him one moment of his birth.
It turns out that when the boy was just born, he screamed so loudly that other newborns did not scream. The elderly midwife, who had already seen everything in her life, said: “Well, he will definitely be an actor, believe me!”
After hearing the story, Dima became one hundred percent sure that his future was predetermined - he would have to conquer the world stage and become a TV star.
Working in a bakery
Few people know that actor Dmitry Nazarov, remembered by millions of television viewers as a restaurant chef from a television series, began his adult life working as a baker. Yes, he dreamed of a career as an actor and even tried to enter a theater university after graduating from school, but he was not accepted there. Then Dmitry thought that in the legend of his birth there was nothing but the imagination of a midwife, and he was not destined to become an artist. And he went to work, because he needed to live on something, and for a whole year before the next attempt to enroll in studies somewhere, he could not sit on his parents’ necks.
The guy was hired to work at a bakery, as an ordinary baker's assistant. The duties included not getting in the way and not watching over the baked goods. But Dmitry closely watched the work of the bakers, and they gladly taught their skills to the inquisitive guy. Soon he received a rank, and lush baked goods and delicious muffins came out from under his hands. Dmitry worked like this for three whole years and managed to become a professional in his field, receiving the fourth category.
Students
The biography of actor Dmitry Nazarov could continue to develop in the given direction: he could calmly work at a bakery, receive a decent salary there, and build a career in the world of baking, if he had stopped dreaming of the stage and acting. Having come to the exams at the Shchepkinsky School, Nazarov did not encounter any obstacles on the way to admission, and he was easily enrolled in Viktor Korshunov’s group. Dmitry was beside himself with happiness, and until the first classes he could not believe that he was admitted.
He was the best student on the course; he was able to complete assigned tasks with particular ease. Dmitry also became the soul of the student company, and here he finally felt in his element.
Theater career
After graduating from the Shchepkinsky School, Nazarov ended up in the Maly Theater troupe. Dmitry worked there for 15 years, performing about 60 roles.
Among the productions with his participation were “Maslenitsa is not for everyone” and “Warm Heart” (based on Alexander Ostrovsky), “Stone Flower” (based on Pavel Bazhov), “The Shore” (based on Yuri Bondarev), “Leshy” (based on Chekhov) and etc. The artist left the Maly Theater due to a creative conflict with the management and the lack of leading roles.
The small artist changed to the Sphere Theater. In it he appeared in such productions as “Farewell, Gyulsary!” (after Chingiz Ai (after Carlo Gozzi), Shukshin’s “Until the Third Roosters” and Chekhov’s “The Seagull”.
“Sphere” was followed by the Russian Army Theater (CATRA). In it he took part in the plays “Much Ado About Nothing” and “Othello” (based on William Shakespeare), “At the Bottom” (based on Maxim Gorky) and “The Heart is Not a Stone” (based on Alexander Ostrovsky).
While working at TsATRA, the actor received the Crystal Turandot award for best actor in 1998 (Satin in Gorky’s play “At the Lower Depths”). By this time, Dmitry had already been an Honored Artist of Russia for five years. While a member of the troupe of the Russian Army Theater, Nazarov became a People's Artist of Russia.
Since 2003, the actor has been working in the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater troupe. Among the productions with his participation are “The Bourgeois” (based on Maxim Gorky), “The Forest” (based on Alexander Ostrovsky), “The Noble Nest” (based on Turgenev), “Duel” (based on Chekhov), “The Master and Margarita” (based on Mikhail Bulgakov ) etc. For “Forest” Dmitry received the “Seagull” award.
Theatrical beginning
In 1980, Dmitry was awarded the long-awaited diploma. The graduate of the Shchepkinsky talent workshop was not left without work and immediately after completing his studies was accepted into the Maly Theater troupe. Actor Dmitry Nazarov reminded many of Roman Filippov, and these people did not forget to express their thoughts about the similarity to him. Dmitry was offended by this and said that he was not the second Filippov, but the first Nazarov.
After the production about the famous Jeanne, burned at the stake, Nazarov began to be compared with Depardieu. And Dmitry already liked this comparison.
Theater
Dmitry Nazarov graduated from the Shchepkinsky School in 1980. Even in his student years, teachers noted the talented guy. After studying, the young artist easily found his first job. He believes that dragons once lived on earth, he believes in science fiction stories, in life after death, and other miracles.
