History of the palace and interesting facts

The mansion was built in 1896-1899. for Konstantin Aleksandrovich Vargunin, a famous owner of manufactories and philanthropist. A rich social life took place in this house; concerts and theatrical performances were often held. The last owner, Count Ignatiev, did not live in the mansion, but rented it out.

From 1912 to 1916 the house housed the Spanish embassy. During the Civil War, the mansion was empty, the interiors were looted. Then educational institutions and administrative bodies were located here. Since 1962, the building was given over to the registry office.

The advantages of registering a marriage in this registry office are the convenient location, beautiful interiors for photo sessions, and the presence of a buffet hall. Cons: lack of parking, narrow street that does not allow large buses and limousines to pass.
