It is not for nothing that St. Petersburg is called the “Venice of the North” - the city is located on islands. Its central part is intertwined with a network of canals and rivers, across which are thrown many beautiful, unique bridges, including drawbridges. There is a special atmosphere here. And the wedding celebration can be held in such a way that it will definitely be remembered for a lifetime. Most registry offices are located in beautiful historical buildings - real palaces. We invite you to familiarize yourself with the top most beautiful registry offices of the northern capital.

Wedding Palace No. 1 on the Promenade des Anglais

The main staircase of the Wedding Palace No. 1. Photo by Alexey Vertoletov An ideal place for those who decided to unite their hearts. This is the first Wedding Palace in the country. The building was built at the end of the 19th century by architect A.F. Krasovsky , and its walls remember many historical events and owners. After the revolution, various government agencies were located in the building. But for more than half a century, Leningraders, and then St. Petersburgers, have been linking their destinies with family ties. The palace was created in the Florentine style; its facade is decorated with excellent stucco decoration. Inside, the interior is also magnificent. The grand marble staircase leading to the richly decorated ceremonial halls has the largest number of steps of any similar establishment in the city. And the walls are decorated with life-size sculptures.

Wedding Palace № 1.
Photo by Alexey Vertoletov The registry office has two ceremonial halls for ceremonial registration. The large hall is very spacious and can accommodate a couple of dozen guests. A small hall will be a good solution for “compact” ceremonies. It’s quite difficult to describe the interior decoration in words, and it’s hardly worth it. It's better to see everything with your own eyes. As befits the main registry office of the city, the number of people wishing to have a wedding here is off the charts. It is sometimes necessary to submit an application for the summer season as much as six months before the cherished date.

On the second line

Wedding Palace No. 2 is a little more modest than its predecessor, but this does not affect its demand. The building was built at the end of the 19th century according to the design of A.I. Gauguin, and the first marriage registration took place here in February 1963.

The palace has a wardrobe, rooms for the bride and groom, and a shop where you can buy balloons, marriage certificate covers and other wedding accessories. The celebration hall pleasantly surprises with its interior in noble white and blue shades. Magnificent photographs are taken on the landing of the main staircase, decorated with elegant wrought iron railings.

Primorsky registry office of St. Petersburg

One of the main advantages of the Palace is its proximity to the Tauride Garden - a favorite place for newlyweds.

Many registry offices in the districts of St. Petersburg have their own parking, but Wedding Palace No. 2 is not one of them. Future spouses should arrive early so that all drivers of the wedding procession can find a place for cars.

Wedding Palace No. 2 on Furshtatskaya Street

The main staircase of the Wedding Palace No. 2.
Photo by Alexey Vertoletov It also has a rich history and is extremely popular. Not only St. Petersburg residents, but also guests from other cities, as well as foreigners, can register their relationships here. The building was built in the 19th century according to the design of academician of architecture Alexander Ivanovich von Gauguin for the major industrialist K. A. Vargunin . Excellent decor gives the two-story mansion a thoroughbred look and elegance, both outside and inside, despite the fact that the style of the building is somewhat eclectic.

An exquisite grand staircase with wrought-iron railings that fit very organically into the overall interior leads to the ceremonial hall, leading to a happy future. The registration hall itself is done in beige and blue tones and has enough space. The interior decoration fully corresponds to the status of one of the most popular registry offices in the country.

They are made in different styles and will add interior variety to your photographs. Also next to the mansion is the Tauride Garden, a popular place for photo sessions of newlyweds. The only negative is that the Palace does not have parking. Very often, it is only possible to drive up to the registration place in order to get out of the wedding car and let the car go in search of a parking space. Therefore, do not forget to take the driver’s phone number so that he can pick you up later.

The best Wedding Palaces and registry offices for ceremonial registration in St. Petersburg

The most popular places for marriage so far are registry offices and wedding palaces, despite the growing popularity of on-site registrations, today we’ll talk specifically about palaces. I'll tell you about the best and most beautiful!

Wedding Palace № 1

Wedding Palace No. 1 is located in the very center of St. Petersburg on the English Embankment overlooking the Neva. The palace has two halls: large and small. It is noteworthy that you place the paintings on the forms in the Great Hall of the Wedding Palace No. 1 while sitting on the sofa facing your guests, you exchange rings at the counter also facing the guests, which allows them to feel the process and capture this moment for themselves in the photo.

In the Small Hall of the palace you place the painting while standing, but also facing the guests.

I will show you some photographs of the interior decoration of the First Wedding Palace.

Wedding Palace No. 2

Wedding Palace No. 2, located on the street. Furshtatskaya is my favorite. It is slightly smaller than the first palace, it has only one registration hall, which means fewer weddings and fewer people. The palace has a gorgeous grand staircase and a stunning registration hall in blue shades. The only thing that still terrifies me as a photographer is the waiting room for young people to register. This room is made in red shades, and therefore it is very difficult to shoot there, both with and without flash.

The newlyweds sign while facing the guests, exchange rings with their backs or sides (usually their backs)

Wedding Palace No. 3 (Pushkin registry office)

Pushkin Registry Office or Wedding Palace No. 3 is a luxurious building in the park with convenient parking next to it! The palace has small living rooms on the ground floor, there is also a Small Celebration Hall, and on the top floor there is a large registration hall.

The interiors are laconic and minimalistic. There is a lot of space, you can invite more than a hundred guests here!

The exit from the Palace is incredibly photographable, since there are no roadways, there is only a park with flowers and trees around.

I will show you both the Great Hall and the Small Hall.

Civil Registry Office of Petrogradsky District

One of my favorite registry offices, where there are the friendliest staff, a cozy atmosphere and an incredibly beautiful, bright hall! Yes, the registry office of the Petrograd region is much smaller than the Wedding Palaces, but no less beautiful! See for yourself!

If you were unable to submit an application for the desired date to the First and Second Palaces, then be sure to consider this registry office!

The newlyweds also sign here facing the guests at the table and exchange rings in the center of the hall.

Civil registry office of the Petrodvortsovo district in Peterhof

One of the brightest, most modern in decoration of the registry office. There is not much space for general photos and portraits inside the registry office of the Petrodvortsovo district, but the hall is simply stunning! Here you place the painting while sitting at the table facing the guests, exchanging rings in the center of the hall. The downside is the inability to film the meeting right next to the registry office, any firecrackers and confetti are only across the road from it. But maybe this is not necessary? ;)

District Vyborg Civil Registry Office of St. Petersburg

Vyborg Civil Registry Office.
Photo by Alexey Vertoletov Located in a two-story building designed in Art Nouveau style. Outwardly, it resembles the silhouette of a ship with a towering “mast” in the form of a marriage registration hall tower above the main part of the building. The registry office is well known and loved by many for its internal atmosphere, spacious halls, abundance of greenery inside and its own parking lot. The interior of the registry office is dominated by white and beige colors. Renovations were carried out here relatively recently; the interior is very different from similar institutions. The halls are divided into two zones - guest and formal, with rooms for the bride and groom.

The bridge of love of the Vyborg Civil Registry Office is a transition from the guest area to the ceremonial area.
Photo by Alexey Vertoletov And the main highlight and difference from other registry offices: The Bridge of Love - a transition from the guest area to the formal area along a corridor with columns and a whole garden of tropical plants.
An undeniable advantage of the registry office is the green park around the building, where you can arrange a buffet and hold a wedding walk. This is a real green oasis with luxurious flower beds.

The Malyutka Palace, where newborns are registered.
Photo by Alexey Vertoletov Departing slightly from the topic, for those who like to look at the future, one cannot help but mention the Malyutka Palace on Furshatskaya.
This is a special department of the registry office of St. Petersburg, in which ceremonies of birth registration take place - the only place of this kind in our country. So, if you are planning a new addition to your family, keep this in mind. You have the power to make your own wedding a happy and unforgettable event in your life. And the luxury and charm of St. Petersburg wedding palaces will serve as a good decoration!
