Valery Todorovsky children from his first marriage. Love and honesty. Biography of Victoria Tokareva: personal life of her daughter

Valery Todorovsky became a worthy successor to his father, director Pyotr Todorovsky, and from his very first works declared his undoubted talent. The director's biography began in Odessa, where he was born on May 9, 1962, and in cinema he made his debut as a screenwriter, and only later did he declare his directorial abilities. Personal life of Valery Todorovsky

is also divided into two stages. He met his first wife at VGIK - Natasha studied, like him, at the screenwriting department, only a year younger. They quickly found a common language, started dating and after some time got married.

Their marriage lasted about twenty years, largely, according to Valery, thanks to Natalya’s incredible tolerance. She was an excellent housewife, a caring wife and mother, who took upon herself all the everyday problems, because Valery never had time for that - he was completely immersed in his work. They raised two children - son Peter and daughter Ekaterina, however, having met new love, Todorovsky decided to leave the family. Valery Todorovsky decided to make such changes in his personal life because of the actress Evgenia Khirivskaya, who later took the name Brik as a pseudonym.

He met her at the casting for his film “The Law,” and although the actress did not get a role in this film, she received much more - the hand and heart of a famous director. After Valery Todorovsky’s second wife gave birth to his daughter Zoya, she moved to Los Angeles, so the director has to live in two countries, like his wife, who has to travel to Russia for filming. The director’s youngest daughter, born in 2009, like him once, is growing up in a cinematic family, and this may affect her future biography.

Since childhood, Valery himself often went to filming with his father, and filming stages have always been a home for him. Watching his father work, he also wanted to be like him. Since then, cinema has become the main thing in the life of Valery Todorovsky. For him, cinema is both work and passion, and, in general, the most important thing in life.

Valery Todorovsky cast his wife Evgenia in his film “The Geographer Drank His Globe Away,” and this role raised the popularity rating of the actress, who had previously played in his film “Hipsters” as Komsomol member Katya. Evgenia Brik also starred in her husband’s other films, such as “The Thaw”, “Count of Montenegro”, “Vise”.

For the first time, Valery Todorovsky married the daughter of screenwriter and writer Victoria Tokareva, Natalya. “Natasha became pregnant, what could she do? She was 20, Valera was 23. However, I love and respect my daughter-in-law, like her mother, Victoria Tokareva, very much. I never approached Valera with advice, did not say: “Don’t get married,” or vice versa, “Get married,” this is not accepted among us. I am grateful to Natasha for her grandchildren Peter and Katya. The eldest is now 32 years old, he himself is already a father twice, raising Sergei and Anna, my great-grandchildren. True, Petya is more drawn to another grandmother, Victoria Tokareva, but does not often communicate with me and Valera. The second daughter of the son and Natasha Katyusha, who is now 22 years old, too. Alas, there was no great love between us. We all work, busy people, so we don’t have tea parties every week,” said Mira Todorovskaya.

Now Valery is happily married to actress Evgenia Brik. However, according to the director’s mother, she has no relationship with her daughter-in-law. “It turned out that I avoid my daughters-in-law and we don’t see each other at all. Zhenya (by the way, I don’t understand why she took the pseudonym Brik instead of her last name Khirivskaya) gave birth to another child for my son - Zoya. She's eight. In the case of Evgenia, by the way, Valera, like a noble man, also got married because Evgenia became pregnant. My granddaughter also rarely communicates with me. I haven’t seen Zoya’s other grandparents, Evgenia’s parents, at all, apparently they don’t need it. I didn’t look for them, if they wanted, they could communicate, but so why do I need it?” – Valery Todorovsky’s mother quotes Eg.RU.

Mira appreciated both marriages of her offspring. “He and his first wife were together for 20 years. She is very good, strong, wise, but they turned out to be too different. A wonderful woman, but not his. Of course, he is better off with his second wife, despite the fact that she is 20 years younger. And he behaves distantly towards me. I don’t know if there is crazy love between Valera and Zhenya, but they live – and thank God. For me, the main thing is that my son feels good,” Todorovskaya concluded.

Valery Petrovich Todorovsky is a world-famous director, producer and screenwriter. He is called a man who, thanks to his outstanding abilities, played a decisive role in the stylistic development of cinema of the late twentieth - early twenty-first centuries. His creative biography is eventful: Todorovsky, as one of the leading directors, was involved in the creation of many truly brilliant films. Valery is the winner of more than twenty awards in the field of cinema. However, Todorovsky’s personal life is not replete with such rainbow and bright colors and is not distinguished by the impeccability of his love relationships. It is known that Valery Todorovsky’s ex-wife Natalya Tokareva was left by a man because of suddenly flared up feelings for another woman, a new object of passion and love.

Collaboration

In 2007, the director made the film “Vise”. This film is about a young man who is unwittingly involved in a criminal drug business. In this film, Evgenia Vladimirovna Brik played the minor role of the girl Taya. Of course, the role was not serious, but it allowed me to gain some experience and skills. In general, incredible prospects awaited her.

In 2008, the famous musical film “Hipsters,” which was also directed by Valery Todorovsky, was released on cinema screens. The wife got the role of Komsomol member Katya, who fought against violations committed by the youth of that time. Brick played a negative character, and she did a great job with this image. For her work in her husband's film, the actress was awarded several prestigious film awards.

Another major role in Valery Todorovsky’s film was played in the TV series “The Thaw”. Initially, Evgenia Brik was in contention for the main role in this film. However, she liked the image of Larisa more, so after consulting with her husband, she played this particular role. Viewers remember Evgenia Brik for her candid shots in the series, where the actress was filmed naked.

All major roles of Evgenia Brik, of course, were played in the films of Valery Todorovsky. However, it cannot be said that these roles were obtained only because the actress is married to a famous director.

Valery Todorovsky at work

On the contrary, Evgeniy Todorovsky is quite picky about his wife’s work, always expresses constructive criticism and never offers her roles that she cannot cope with. In addition, film critics highly appreciate the actress’s acting skills.

Valery Todorovsky's wife photo

Todorovsky prefers not to dwell on the topic of personal relationships. Valery’s behavior is indicative in this regard - he is rarely seen at social events and noisy parties. This person is completely consumed by work. He has no time left, and no desire to attract people’s attention to his person through stories and interviews on the topic of relationships with women and the topic of family.

It is known that Valeria’s first wife is the daughter of the famous writer Victoria Tokareva. He met Natalya while still a student. They studied together, but the girl was a year younger. The young people communicated a lot and were mutually fascinated by each other. This love resulted in twenty long years of marriage. The couple had children: son Peter and daughter Ekaterina.

Todorovsky's wife strived to be an ideal wife, housewife and mother. She completely took upon herself all household issues and affairs, so as not to interfere with her husband doing what he loved, which took a lot of effort and time. But, despite such an understanding, loving, sacrificial wife, Valery Todorovsky, while at the casting of his film “The Law,” met a young charming person named Evgenia Brik. At first sight, he fell in love with a girl who, it is worth noting, was 19 years younger than him. Because of her, Valery left his wife, children and left home. The family broke up. Nothing is known about how the future life of his first wife developed.

Todorovsky’s new darling was warmly received by his parents. Instead of waiting for a role in the film, Brik after some time became the owner of the honorary title of the wife of the famous director, producer and director Valery Todorovsky.

The actress herself is not at all embarrassed by the significant age difference. Evgenia has a vivid example of a similar relationship - her father is much older than her mother. The famous husband soon began filming his young wife. According to Brick, it is not easy for her to get roles, since Valery Todorovsky adheres to a strict principle that characterizes him as a true professional: on the set and at castings, the director is the same as everyone, at this moment he does not care who is related to whom outside of his professional activities.

Todorovsky’s wife starred in the film “The Geographer Drank His Globe Away,” the film “Hipsters” and the TV series “The Thaw,” which, thanks to Brick’s brilliant performance, raised their ratings. We can say that the spouses are also work buddies, which further unites and brings them closer.

Evgenia gave Valery a daughter, Zoya, who followed in her mother’s footsteps. The girl has already managed to star in one American TV series. According to the latest information in 2021, Valery Todorovsky lives happily and peacefully with his wife and children. Evgenia must really be exactly the woman the famous producer dreamed of.

Victoria Samoilovna Tokareva (nee Shefter). Born on November 20, 1937 in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). Soviet and Russian writer, screenwriter.

Victoria Shefter, who became known as Victoria Tokareva, was born on November 20, 1937 in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg).

Has Jewish (paternal) and Russian (maternal) roots.

Father - Samuil Nasonovich Shefter (1907-1945), engineer, originally from Belarus.

Mother - Natalya Khlopova (1913-1995), originally from the Donetsk region, worked as an embroiderer.

The family lived in a one-room apartment on Lesnoy Avenue.

During the war, Victoria, her mother and sister were evacuated to the Urals. During the war, my father was drafted into the militia. He returned from the front very sick, then died of esophageal cancer in January 1945 at the age of 36.

After the death of his father, the family was helped for a long time by his elder brother Evgeniy Nasonovich Shefter (1900-1961), who worked as director of the Leningrad Metal Plant.

According to Victoria, at the age of 12-13, her mother read to her “Rodsheld’s Violin” by A.P. Chekhov, and she considers this moment her “plug-in” - then the desire to write was born.

During her school years she graduated from a music school in piano.

After school, she planned to study to become a doctor, but she was not accepted into medical school.

In 1958 she graduated from the Leningrad Music College, majoring in piano. Then she studied at the Leningrad State Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov.

After getting married, Victoria Tokareva moved to Moscow. She worked as a singing teacher at a children's music school. Later she worked as an editor at the Mosfilm film studio.

At the same time, I started writing prose.

In 1962, Tokareva, under the patronage of the poet, entered the VGIK screenwriting department, from which she graduated in 1967.

According to the writer, this was the brightest page in her life. She said: “The fact is that he is a very interesting person. The Lord God created nature, the animal world, but it cannot express itself through the sound of rain, through barking, meowing or croaking, it can express itself only through man. But not through everyone, but through very rare specimens that he chooses. Danelia is one of them.”

Their relationship was supported by the director’s mother, Mary Andzhaparidze.

At the same time, Danelia himself denied a relationship with Tokareva, saying that they simply worked together: “And she came up with everything. Tokareva is a writer. We worked together."

In October 2021, Victoria Tokareva became the heroine of the “Human Fate” program, in which she spoke. She stated that not only her husband, but also the director’s wife knew about this. “She gave me beads when he went out with me,” the writer said.

Daughter Natalya Viktorovna Tokareva graduated from the screenwriting department of VGIK. Later she graduated from the College of Psychoanalysis. My second specialty is psychoanalyst.

She was married to a director, screenwriter and producer.

The marriage produced two children: son Pyotr Valerievich Todorovsky (born 1986) and daughter Ekaterina Valerievna Todorovskaya (born 1995).

However, the marriage did not work out and Natalya and Valery divorced. However, they raised children together. Victoria Tokareva said about her former son-in-law: “Valery Petrovich Todorovsky behaved very well in this situation. He absolutely loves his children and is very supportive of them.”

- Wonderful. You need to live not only well, but also for a long time. My brain works the same way as before. I look pretty good, I dress in the best boutiques in Italy, I have luxurious children and grandchildren. What is my age? The Creator is no more stupid than man. As I came up with, so be it.

– Are you happy with your daughter and grandchildren?

– Once, when my daughter was studying at VGIK, assistant directors came to the acting department there to look for a beauty for the film, and they were told that they needed to go to the screenwriting class. The most beautiful girl there is my Natasha. I looked and admired the beauty I had released into the world. Grandson Petrusha (Petr Todorovsky Jr. - son of director Valery Todorovsky and Natalya Tokareva. - Note "Antennas"), as a director based on his own script, made his first film and received a prize at the festival "Window to Europe" (film "Lovestory." - Note . "Antennas"). I haven’t seen the picture and won’t watch it. I'm afraid that if I don't like it, I'll tell Petrusha so, and he'll hate me. True, the grandson objected: “Well, not for the rest of my life.” I raised Petrusha, and now I’m giving him a big gift: I don’t call him, I don’t pester him, and I don’t get in his way. Granddaughter Katya will be a producer, like Mira’s grandmother (Mira Todorovskaya is Valery Todorovsky’s mother. – Note “Antennas”). And I see that she has the character for this. I love her passionately. In general, I love beautiful, young people, they have fire, desires, aspirations. Why do I need wise turtles? I'm wise myself.

– Have you always achieved what you dreamed of in life?

“I used to want fame, recognition, love, and I got it.” And, which happens very rarely, having gotten married at 20, she kept her husband for life. There he is still sitting, reading books. Not mine. He recognizes that I have talent, but he is such a gloomy person, he doesn’t express emotions clearly, he has a different energy. It is impossible to say whether it is more powerful or weaker than mine. Another. If he was some kind of suffocating person, why would I need him? We have a degree of kinship that is based on a common child, grandchildren, on a former great love that does not go anywhere, but is simply reborn.

– What is the happiest time for you?

– From the age of 16 to 20, I studied at the Leningrad Conservatory, but for me music was something secondary, so that time seemed painful and uninteresting. But when I wrote my first story, “A Day Without Lies,” and at the age of 26, as they say, woke up famous, everything changed. I realized that I had found my way. Recently Danelia told me: “You lived an interesting life because you did what you liked.” This is happiness.

– You openly talked about an affair with director Georgy Danelia, although you were married, and he is married. Has your husband come to terms with this situation?

– And our great feelings with Danelia have not gone away. He calls me three times a week, he needs to discuss something with me, and I’m interested in his opinion. Danelia is such a powerful talent that I couldn’t help but admire her. Even now, being old and sick, practically a wreck, he thinks and speaks interestingly. I laugh until the sky with him. Then he is Georgian, they are different: like children, sunny people. We wrote six films together, “Gentlemen of Fortune” and “Mimino” became incredibly popular. I once told him: “Your contribution is greater than mine. You are a director and a wonderful screenwriter." And he replied: “When you were around, I became a genius.” It's so nice to hear that. And I can’t imagine living with one man all my life, and never again. What nonsense! A creative woman needs to experience strong feelings. The husband didn’t exactly resign himself. He cannot live without me, and I cannot live without him. This is where we live.

– What are you writing now? Do you have a routine: how long a day should you work?

– My book “Houses Last Longer Than People” was recently published. I always do the same thing: I write novels and short stories. There is no mode. I never had to force myself to write. Talent is a battery that keeps ticking. If you chirp, you start working; if you stop chirping, you don’t work. That's all.
