Masochist with a midlife crisis Anastasia Rakova

Work and career

1998-2000: meeting Sobyanin

Rakova’s career started in 1998. Then she got a job as a specialist in the apparatus of the Duma of the Khanty-Mansiysk Okrug, 1st category. Where, until 2000, the district parliament was chaired by Sergei Sobyanin. This is how she got to the post of head of the legal examination department. From that moment on, her career growth depended entirely on Sobyanin’s professional activities.

2000-2005: Tyumen region

At the beginning of the 2000s, the client was taken in by the first deputy chairman of the district government, Oleg Chemezov. He was a close friend of Sobyanin. In 2001, Sergei Semenovich won the election for the head of the Tyumen region and, of course, took a client as his assistant. She later became a member of the Legislative Works Commission.

2005-2010: moving to the capital

When Sobyanin’s term came to an end in 2005, Rakova headed the office of the governor of the Tyumen region for six months.

Having headed the Russian Presidential Administration, Sobyanin secured a place here for Anastasia as deputy head of the secretariat of the head of the presidential administration. By the way, she became the only one whom Sergei Semenovich grabbed from the Tyumen region.

In 2008, Sobyanin received a new position. When Medvedev took the presidency, Putin appointed Sobyanin to the post of head of the government apparatus with the rank of Deputy Prime Minister. Anastasia Rakova also updated her position during this period; she became Secretary of State and Deputy Minister of Regional Development.

2009: Separation

As expected, the next job change was not long in coming. In February 2009, Anastasia Vladimirovna Rakova was appointed director of the legal department of the government of the Russian Federation. Sounds important. All papers issued by the government passed through it. In October of the same year, she was appointed to the position of deputy head of the government apparatus.

2010-2018: return to the team

Having taken the post of mayor of Moscow in 2010, Sergei Semenovich first began to look for a place for his irreplaceable assistant. The mayor's chief of staff, Viktor Korobchenko, came across the situation. It was in his place that the newly appointed head of the capital wanted to see Anastasia Rakova. She became his right hand.

Working style of a vice mayor

At meetings, which the patient conducted in a rude manner, she considered only her opinion to be correct and did not recognize anything else. In her manner of communicating with subordinates, masculine traits prevail: severity, rudeness towards others. Anastasia Rakova considers this behavior effective and efficient. Uses profanity and moral pressure, regardless of the age and status of the interlocutors. Over the years, Rakova’s influence and authority in the Moscow mayor’s office only grew stronger. In September 2013, she took a warm position in the Moscow government - the head of the Mayor’s Office and the Moscow government. According to colleagues, Rakova often went beyond the powers of her position and interfered with the area of responsibility of other vice-mayors. She was even nicknamed the “shadow mayor.”

In 2021, at the initiative of Anastasia Rakova, a citizen voting program on the issue of renovation was launched. The idea of demolishing the five-story buildings did not belong to her. She was responsible for verifying the legitimacy of votes. In 2021, the client was charged with issues of social development of the capital.

Today, the departments of health, education, social protection, labor and others are subordinate to it. During the coronavirus pandemic, it was Anastasia Rakova who often appeared in the news with official information and statistics on the spread of the new disease. In April last year, the patient encouraged corona survivors to donate blood for a reward.

Dating in Kogalym

Despite the fact that the marriage between the spouses was officially dissolved, Irina, without exaggeration, can be called the main woman in Sergei’s fate. After all, it was she who gave Sobyanin two daughters: Olga and Anna. And recently, the former spouses had another significant reason for meeting and communicating - the birth of Seryozha’s grandson.

Irina Iosifovna was born in Tyumen on November 19, 1961, her maiden name is Rubinchik. She studied at secondary school No. 8. According to the recollections of her classmates, Irina was an excellent student, she was constantly set as an example to other children. The girl's photo hung on the honor board. Like many children of those years, she participated in amateur art shows, the Timur movement and collecting waste paper.

After graduating from school, Irina entered a university, and after 5 years she received a diploma in the specialty “civil engineer”. According to her assignment, the girl went to Kogalym, a small town in the north of the Tyumen region. It was there that a fateful meeting took place with Sergei Sobyanin, who at that time was just beginning to build his career. The lovers got married on February 23, 1986, and in October of the same year their daughter Olya was born. Ironically, the Sobyanins’ marriage was dissolved on the eve of their next wedding anniversary – February 21, 2014.

A heavy, devastated look indicates the patient’s inability to independently compensate for failures in life.

Irina Sobyanina, wife of Sergei Sobyanin - the beginning of a relationship

In the mid-eighties, Irina met her future husband in Kogalym, and after six months of dating, Sergei proposed marriage to her. As was repeatedly noted in numerous interviews at the beginning of their family journey, Irina and Sergei did not discuss his career or new job assignments in the domestic circle, explaining this by the fact that the wife completely trusts her husband’s decisions. Following her husband, Irina moved to new cities (more than eight times in total). Irina talked about how she won the mayor’s heart with a fish pie: after all, all Siberians love meat, but Sergei himself preferred fishing, so he repeatedly tried to instill his hobby in his ex-wife. Irina did not share his passion, but she enjoyed practicing preparing fish delicacies, her favorite being fish pie.

Painting is Irina’s true passion: she was a teacher of floristry and collage art at a children’s development center. At the school where her daughters Anna and Olya studied, Irina, a very open and active person by nature, took an active part in children's parties, competitions and additional education. Along with painting, Sobyanin’s wife collects ceramic vases - she already has more than forty unique pieces. The love for painting is reflected not only in the profession, but also in the house, where paintings with the nature of Siberia are especially loved.

The loudest mention of the name of Sergei’s wife was associated with her hometown - Tyumen and the scandal around curbs. According to unconfirmed reports, which Sobyanin completely denied, Irina owns a construction company that won the tender for the installation of granite curbs, which, due to their high cost, cost the budget an astronomical amount, thereby making her one of the richest in the region. However, even in connection with this incident, there was no stream of negative assessments and comments addressed to Irina either from the press or from the general public.

Why Sobyanin divorced his wife

After 28 years of marriage, Irina and Sergei filed for divorce. The press associates this with an affair between Sobyanin and his colleague Anastasia Rakova, but the mayor himself denies these rumors. In numerous interviews that followed the news of the divorce, Irina repeatedly notes that this decision was mutual and balanced. She says that they have been connected with Sergei for many years of warm married life, full of trust and mutual understanding, so after the divorce the spouses plan to maintain constant contact.

Now Irina travels a lot around Europe and practically does not appear on the pages of the press.

Navalny investigation

In 2021, Alexei Navalny’s Anti-Corruption Foundation calculated the approximate price tag for Rakova’s outfits and jewelry, in which she appears on screen and in public. In one of the official’s video messages to Moscow medical workers, she wrapped herself in a brown Loro Piana belt, which costs at least 52 thousand rubles.

In another video, Anastasia scolded the kebab makers, because of whom everyone was put in quarantine, and then touchingly talked about financial assistance to Muscovites. Anastasia Rakova offered to generously pay four thousand rubles to sick old people in Moscow, two of which were received immediately. As much as 4 thousand. But what’s more interesting in this video is not what the vice-mayor says, but what outfit she appears in. A T-shirt from the Italian brand Brunello Cucinelli worth 46 thousand rubles and a beautiful jacket from the same brand for more than 160 thousand rubles.

And that's not all

On the federal channel Russia 1, Anastasia Rakova performed in a blouse worth almost 100 thousand rubles and shoes worth almost 50 thousand rubles. This is because the Keaton brand is one of the most expensive in the world. Well, for dessert, let’s check out her outfit from a photo report from the Russian Academy of National Economy. 25 tailors worked all day long on the official’s cashmere jacket. In total, the cost of the suit was a little more than half a million rubles. These examples will be enough to understand how much the official loves luxury in clothing.

First Lady of the Tyumen Territory

Due to his duty, Sergei Sobyanin began working in Tyumen, and his family followed him to this large Siberian city. On Sergei’s official website, the Tyumen stage of life is designated 1993-2005. For Irina Iosifovna, these years were marked not only by her husband’s rapid career rise, but also by the birth of her second daughter (Anya was born in June 1997).

A significant milestone in the family was 2001, when, following the results of the elections on January 14, Sergei Sobyanin was elected head of the Tyumen region. At that time, the attention of many Siberians was riveted to Irina, because they were interested in knowing what their first lady was doing. In 2004-2005 Irina Iosifovna taught the art of collage and floristry in one of the children's creative centers. On the website of the weekly federal newspaper you can find an interview from those years, in which teachers from the music school speak warmly about the head’s wife and their eldest daughter Olya. The girl studied music diligently, and her mother brought her to classes, and not a nanny, as was customary in the families of high-ranking officials.

However, there were some scandals. At one time, information was actively discussed that during the years of her husband’s mayorship, Irina was listed as the owner of a road construction company that installed fabulously expensive marble curbs in Tyumen. They say that it was not without reason that orders to perform these works went to her company. In 2011, in an interview for the Izvestia newspaper, Sobyanin himself said that his wife works as a teacher in a kindergarten and has nothing to do with business.

Another reason for slander was the topic related to Irina Iosifovna’s cousin Alexander Gavrin, who at that time held the post of Minister of Fuel and Energy of Russia. Allegedly, it was he who contributed to such a rapid career of Sergei Sobyanin. It is worth noting that all this information remained at the level of rumors and speculation.
