Mikhail Porechenkov: “They started removing me from roles without explanation”

“Krasko and Tolubeev are always with us”

— According to the apt remark of one of the screenwriters, your hero, Lekha Nikolaev, for the last 15 years after leaving service in the FSB, he lived in the forest of the Pskov region, smoked moss and...
— He ate moose poop. This is true.

- How did this affect him?

- No way. Internally it hasn't changed at all. We solved the following problem: to show a person in the conditions of a world that has changed during his absence. He returns to St. Petersburg after working as a huntsman in the wild forest, and the reality is completely different. At the same time, he is still the same Lekha, a fighter for justice, a man from the past. With vintage concepts.

In the new episodes, Lech Nikolaev will again meet with Filipich (Vadim Yakovlev). photo: Proline Film, still from the film

“However, during his life in the forest, he became noticeably heavier. Just like you. And now he looks more like a general than a cheerful operative.

- Still would! We started in 1999, when I was not yet 30 years old. And this also has a certain purpose: as soon as in our country someone becomes like a general, he instantly becomes modernized - he forgets himself, and his previous principles and concepts. But Lech, despite the years he has lived and his appearance, has not changed internally. So it's okay.

— Could you imagine that the series would be revived?

- No, I thought that it would never continue. But apparently God wants it that way. The circumstances are as follows: I will be glad if the audience likes it.

— Many colleagues on the project are no longer there: Andrei Krasko, Andrei Tolubeev. Did you remember them when you gathered on the site?

- Of course, we can’t forget them. They are always with us. We film about them, and they are always there.

...but he will only come to his friend and partner Krasnov (Andrey Krasko) at the cemetery.

“Very often now, geopolitical background has begun to be woven into the plot of even historical series—the confrontation between our country and the West. Will there be something similar here?

— Petrov and Boshirov? (Laughs and waves it off.) Oh well. We didn't have that. Humor and self-irony are one thing, and another... Let's focus on psychology.

— Nevertheless, you have never shied away from politics and expressed your position on Crimea, Ukraine, and not so long ago you commented on the tragic death of the head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko. Has this started to affect your work?

- Yes. Certainly.

- How?

— They began to remove me from roles.

- Are you seriously?

- Absolutely. Already from approved projects.

- Well, how? You passed the audition, you were approved, there must be some reason? What are they saying?

— (Spreads his hands.) It happens in any way. They simply tell me that the role has been given to another person. All. At first I thought it was a coincidence. Then this was repeated over and over again. Then I started to look where the threads led and who was releasing the project. Everything fell into place. What to do.

— Does this upset you or were you ready?

- No, it doesn’t bother me. So that's how it should be.

“All the bumps, stones and blows are all yours. You will have to be responsible for everything alone."

— In your youth, did you have superheroes that you looked up to? Zheglov, Sharapov.

— Zheglov? Sharapov? What kind of childhood is this? This is childhood for you. (Laughs.) Pinocchio is my childhood! This was a hero. Artemon and all the others. From books? Captain Daredevil, Pavka Korchagin.

- Do children need a superhero now?

- The devil knows. I look at my children and I can’t understand! The paradox and horror is that children are not interested in anything. They are focused on garbage and trash, on materialism. From the series: “What do you dream about?” — “About Louis Vuitton sneakers.” Pfft, why did I dream about sneakers as a child?! Traveling around the world, flying into space - yes. What about the current ones? About the new iPhone, about the new console. What? Unfortunately, I observe a comprehensive debilitation. They are not even interested in talking. They become people “out of the box” (points to the phone). There are, of course, other young people, but there are fewer and fewer of them.

Mikhail tries to raise children with words, not with a belt. In the photo - with his wife Olga, daughter Masha and sons Misha and Petya (junior). photo: Boris KUDRYAVOV/Express newspaper

- This is bad?

- Hard to tell. They are very suggestible. The like system works like a drug addiction. And it's a tough system. God forbid you said something against the party - you were immediately demoted and thrown out. This works tougher than any repressive apparatus! Just try to argue. And this suppresses the personality. They are the most unfree, although they shout about the opposite - they do not know how to collect information, process it and draw conclusions. Only reposts, without regaining consciousness. The horror is that the number of likes overcomes common sense. The majority liked it - and I will go too. Look at the shit bloggers - opinion leaders - this is horror! Catastrophe.

“There is a cult of dad in the family”

— It turns out that you, like Lekha Nikolaev, remained with vintage concepts while the world around you changed?

- Absolutely! This is true. In any society there is right and wrong. Or you are not alien to conscience, love, mutual assistance, compassion. Or everything else, from another planet, let's say.

— Do you influence your children?

- Still would! Sports, books, everything is there. But at some point we realize that they become black sheep in their society. If they get into this system and don't agree, they are dealt with harshly. I dare to hope that they have an inner core that will not allow them to go with the flow.

- What is the reason?

- Nobody pays attention to the inner world of children. Including the education system. School grades and spiritual education are two different things. Any faith is good, they immediately become different people. As soon as it disappears, that’s it! This border is getting bigger and bigger. If parents and teachers do not pay attention to the spiritual education of their children, this is actually a disaster. There are a lot of smart people. They invented the atomic bomb, and concentration camps, and the Internet, they really had a mind. But those who are good at heart, believers, did not do this. They were doing something else. As it turns out, nothing saves us except faith.

— Many are guided by conscience.

- And what is it? How to determine this? What are the basic concepts? “Don’t do something bad”—what is bad? Who are you targeting? Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy. Well, okay. And they’re still so aggressive, it’s amazing.

-Can you be hard on children?

— For now we talk to the children and, I hope, they listen to us. Sometimes the middle one (Mikhail) bucks, of course. But such is the age. We are trying to convey and explain.

— Does your status affect them?

- Don't think. At our house this is all stopped. If there was a cult of a star... No, we have a cult of the pope. That's all. Dad can.

— But surely fragments are reaching you too: rap battles, Oksimiron, Gnoyny?

- Of course, they arrive. Purulent... I don't like the nickname. Oksimiron? A very gifted, intelligent guy. I don't understand half of what they say. But obviously both are very talented. I'm not a stupid, calloused retrograde who comes out of a cave during filming. No. Just not my culture. What about talent? It can lead you into different jungles. The talent of destruction is also a talent. The talent of seduction is also a talent. The artist himself measures where he is flying. This is his area of responsibility.

- Sounds like a sermon.

- But I don’t teach anyone. I'm just broadcasting my view of things. I don’t force you to do this or not do that. The teacher is not the one who teaches or wins all battles. A teacher is someone who lives like a teacher. That's all! As he speaks, so he lives. Whether students flock to him or not, time will tell. And students are children, colleagues, friends. They will appreciate it.

— You didn’t come to this understanding of the essence of things right away, did you? Was it dark where you started?

- You can come to God either through books, or through your feet - the road, having gone through everything yourself. As a rule, we choose the second path. Remember the parable of the return of the prodigal son? Remember Rembrandt's painting? Tattered, in worn-out shoes, bald, on his knees. Our entire path was a road: sometimes we came out onto the asphalt, sometimes onto the stones. The main thing is aspiration, the main thing is where the road leads. We are all moving to heavenly Jerusalem. Here it is - ahead of the Jaffa Highway. We are all travelers. And, of course, there are different periods. Shocks, disbelief. Sometimes you think: “Oh, you! Did you think that everything in life was different? And you are really alone." And every traveler is lonely. Every. All the bumps, stones, blows - it's all yours. Friends, other travelers, parents, spouses meet - for a longer period or not. But you will go alone. And you will reach your goal alone. And you will also appear alone. And you will also answer alone.

And as soon as you think about it seriously, something immediately begins to happen in your head. If you believe in that final conversation, then somewhere along the way you won’t do anything bad. You will come, open your book, and everything about you will become clear to everyone. You grab your head: “Lord, what have I done?” And it will be too late. Therefore, you must believe in the final conversation.

The series “National Security Agent. Return,” which is being filmed by the ASDS studio, will air on Channel One in the next television season.

Mikhail Porechenkov: I’m a guy from St. Petersburg, and my life is interesting

Photo: from open sources They say that when producer Alexander Kapitsa was looking for the main character in the series “National Security Agent,” he “tried” a dozen actors for the role of Lekha Nikolaev, but... Desperate to choose the right character, the famous producer turned to the female half of the film crew . And they without hesitation gave their votes for Mikhail Porechenkov. How did the little-known actor bribe the fair half of humanity? Of course, with his brutality, openly masculine appearance, the image of a real hero, and undisguised sexuality. The actor himself hates talking about appearance, and does not believe that he is a “sex symbol.” He simply lives without thinking ahead. He considers Vyacheslav Tikhonov a brilliant actor, especially after his role in the film “They Fought for the Motherland”; he does not dream of playing Hamlet at all, but, having no hearing and voice, he dreams of singing on camera.

From the author.

Once upon a time there were wonderful times and there were no “black lists”. For any journalist, it’s freedom to communicate with popular, honored, and beloved artists. Time passes, and the “black list” is replenished in the Baltic countries. Personally, as a journalist, I yearn for those times when an actor, a performer could feel at ease... Yes, those are the times. But there is also the memory of archives. Especially for the Baltic bureau “Arguments of the Week”, a conversation with one of my favorite actors, Mikhail Porechenkov.

- Mikhail, you give a huge number of interviews, answer all the journalists’ questions, but... From these interviews it is completely impossible to understand, excuse me, how you appeared in Russian cinema...

- Yes, I often ask myself: “Where did he come from?” I'm a St. Petersburg guy with a very interesting life.

So let's talk about how your adult life began.

- Let's. I grew up in a completely ordinary Soviet family. Mom worked as a builder, and dad was a sailor. Naturally, with my family’s busy work schedule, I often found myself “in the hands of my grandmother.” She practically raised me. Where have I not lived? Born in Leningrad, he spent part of his childhood with his grandmother in the Pskov region, and then my father got a job in Poland and my mother and I came to him in Warsaw. In a word, young Misha had no time to be bored! Constant moving, new schools, new friends. The ordinary life of a Soviet child.

— Who did you want to be as a child, in your youth? And what of this came true?

“I, like everyone else in those Soviet times, dreamed of becoming an astronaut. I have always been attracted to purely “male” professions. I did not become an astronaut, but decided to serve my Motherland: I chose the military-political school in Tallinn. But it didn’t work out there either. I was expelled from school ten days before graduation. There were only two state exams left to pass, and I would have received my first shoulder straps, gone to serve somewhere, and it’s unlikely that you would see actor Mikhail Porechenkov now. Why did it happen? One fine day I realized that being a political instructor was definitely not for me! But it’s just so difficult to leave school. And I cheated: I stopped doing my homework, went AWOL, and turned in blank papers in exams. Of course, the teachers decided that I was just having a whim and tolerated my quirks for a long time. But I’m a stubborn person and the result is “expulsion for unwillingness to study.” But I don't regret it at all. This was my conscious choice. Of course, the parents were shocked! I'm 22 years old and don't have a stable profession. But I didn't care at all. I decided so! I decided that I would not be a military man, but an actor!

Why didn’t you immediately enter the theater school?

— I was still thinking about becoming an actor at school, but these were purely spontaneous thoughts. And the military profession seemed very courageous to me. I remember how in the first grade I told my mother that I wanted to become an actor, but in response I heard: “Forget it! There are only thieves there." So my ardor has diminished. But, apparently, the secret dream remained. When I was expelled from the military school, I quite seriously announced to my parents that I was going to enter the theater school. Moreover, he said that very soon I would become a famous actor. Of course, my parents didn’t believe me, but I took a risk. This is how my life “in art” began (laughs). He collected his simple belongings and went to Moscow to enroll in VGIK. Why did you choose Moscow? I can’t give a specific answer. I didn’t want to study in Moscow at all, but the capital beckoned. I understood that studying in Moscow was cool! And there are more opportunities for a beginning actor. But failure awaited me! I did not enter VGIK. And I was glad about it! Glad! He returned to St. Petersburg and went to audition for LGITMIK. And they accepted me. It was luck and a concrete chance to become famous (laughs). And I threw myself into my studies. I understood that I would have to work very hard to get noticed. And our course was “hard-working”! Everyone plowed! My morning began at six, and my day ended at two in the morning. But I liked it all! In 1996, I graduated from college and started going to castings. I'm lucky! Producer Alexander Kapitsa noticed me and Lekha Nikolaev from “National Security Agent” appeared. And then off we went. I kept my word - I became famous (laughs).

— Mikhail, in your interviews you talk little about your personal life. But at the same time, like many actors, you don’t hide your children. You enjoy taking pictures with your family, and constantly say that the most important thing for you is family. Maybe we can talk more openly about your personal life?

- Okay, let's talk. However, I have never hidden my family. I understand that popularity comes with certain responsibilities. People want to know!

I met my wife Olga on the eve of 1999 at the Manhattan restaurant in St. Petersburg. My friends and I were relaxing in a cheerful group. When Olya came in, I immediately noticed her: a beautiful girl in jeans and a white sweater... And it stuck in my head - my destiny. Of course, I came up and introduced myself! We're still together! By the way, we didn’t organize weddings as such. We signed quickly and I flew off to the filming of “National Security Agent.”

— Do you have your own traditions in your family?

— Olga and I love to receive guests. It's great when you gather around the grill with friends, grill kebabs and just chat. Complete relaxation. We have many friends: the godmother of our children Masha and Petya is Anya Mikhalkova, and Masha’s godfather is Fyodor Bondarchuk. When they come to visit us, complete madness begins: children are running around, laughter, fun, noise. But most importantly, we relax and enjoy each other’s company. You asked about traditions... Of course, once a month we have get-togethers with friends.

Mikhail Porechenkov with his daughter

— Is it possible, after many years of marriage, to maintain a romantic relationship with your wife?

- Certainly! Personally, we have a conscious marriage. We didn’t get married right away: we got to know each other and understood each other. Yes, we weighed the pros and cons. And this is natural! This is not the first marriage behind me. And there is a daughter, Varenka, from a previous marriage. But we are together. We love each other, understand each other, respect each other. We have virtually no disagreements. Sometimes I can explode because I can't find something. There are no other reasons. I'm very lucky with my wife. Today we live in complete prosperity, but there was a time of lack of money. Never in my life did Olya reproach me for this. I felt bad that I couldn't give my family everything they needed. I was tormented by the fact that I could not adequately provide for the life of my loved ones. But my wife always supported me and said: “Wait, everything will work out!” And today I am grateful to her for giving me the opportunity to achieve what we have now. And today I really like to pamper my loved ones: with gifts, trips. I want and do everything to make my loved ones feel happy. I think that children should definitely be pampered! Then throughout their lives the light of love will emanate from them. Did you say it nicely? But it's true! Everything comes from childhood... I had a lot of love as a child, and now many people think of me that I am a cloudless, happy and rich person. By the way, they think correctly.

— Mikhail, you practically don’t talk about your eldest son. Why ?

- I don’t want to talk much on this topic. Yes, I have an eldest son, Vladimir, who was born in Tallinn. During my studies at a military school, I had a relationship with a beautiful girl, but alas... Life scattered us. And the child was born. I learned about its existence not long ago. And I’m glad that I have an eldest son! He's a great guy, a smart guy. But the main thing is that he has character. Sorry, but it’s not time to “show all your cards” yet.

— Do you think intuition should be trusted?

- Absolutely. My intuition helped and protected me. When I hear my inner voice: “Stop!”, I definitely listen to it. And after a while I understand that I was right.

— Mikhail, why don’t you like to talk about your appearance? Today it has become fashionable to talk about the secrets of “youth”.

— Apparently, I have a different perception of life. What should I tell? Why do I go to a beauty salon? Why do I make a cucumber mask once a week? Rave! I go to the gym three times a week. I think this is enough to feel great.

Do you want to play the hero-lover?

-Will you look at me? With my appearance, I can’t play hero-lovers!

Is it easy for you to apologize?

- Sometimes it’s difficult. It can be difficult to step over yourself and say “sorry.” But this is from weakness. Why are you surprised? Yes, I have weaknesses. But I always apologize when I feel like I’m wrong.

— Do you easily find contact with your colleagues on the set?

- Yes Easy. You just asked, and I thought... Yes, easy. When I was offered to star in the role of Krechetov in “Liquidation,” I was completely unfamiliar with Mashkov-Gotsman. Honestly, I was a little afraid to meet him on the set. Volodya is a brilliant, powerful talent. He really has “star” status! But when we met, I realized that this is a very subtle partner. He was so able to win over. It went completely unnoticed. The filming was very fun and easy. And after filming we continue to communicate.

Are you familiar with the word “envy”? Professional envy?

- Interest Ask! As far as I remember, I never envied my colleagues. And no one envied me. What for? Yes, I didn’t even think about envy. All my friends and colleagues are successful and famous people. And everyone is plowing! The secret of success is simple: you have to plow! We don't have time to envy each other.

— Do you plan your life? Do you think about what will happen in ten years, for example?

— I don’t plan my life at all. This is silly. We all walk under God. I'm living now! I have a wonderful family and a job I love. What more could you want? Why make a wish?

Thank you.
