To Yuri Kuznetsov-74: how the actor who saved someone else’s son, married his mother and became a father at 50 lives with his 24-year-old daughter

Childhood and youth

Yuri Aleksandrovich Kuznetsov is a representative of Siberia, Russian by nationality. The Honored Artist of Russia was born in Abakan (Republic of Khakassia). The father of the future celebrity was a police officer and dreamed that his son would follow in his footsteps, fulfilling his duty as a servant of the law. But in high school, Kuznetsov began studying in a theater group and realized that he wanted to connect his life with art. However, ironically, a large number of Yuri’s characters wear uniforms - either military or police.

Yuri Kuznetsov in his youth
In his youth, Yuri Kuznetsov went to Vladivostok, where he graduated from the Faculty of Performing Arts at the Far Eastern Pedagogical Institute. The young actor was assigned to the Khabarovsk Regional Drama Theatre, where he would serve for exactly 10 years. In 1979, Yuri already lived in Omsk, where he continued to perform on stage, and after another 7 years he joined the Leningrad Comedy Theater. The artist played there until the end of the twentieth century.

There are legends in the acting world about the kindness and warmth of actor Yuri Kuznetsov, the famous Fly Agaric from “Streets of Broken Lanterns”. Kuznetsov knows how to make friends, always responsive to someone else's misfortune. Actually, his indifference to human grief was once rewarded - by showing compassion and empathy, he himself found personal happiness.

One of Kuznetsov’s friends told us his personal story in confidence. We clarified this story with the actor’s wife Irina.

“Of course, my husband is a fortress for all of us - for me, for my whole family,” Irina admitted. — Yura has a true heart, he is a very devoted person.

— Do you have an unusual dating story?

- Yes. To be honest, I’m still going through all this. I have a son from my first marriage. My son and I were at the hotel when he became ill. They called an ambulance. They helped our son, and the ambulance took us back to the hotel. And by chance a stranger helped carry the boy to our room. It was Yuri Aleksandrovich Kuznetsov...

That day, Irina, left alone with her misfortune, was touched by the attention of an unfamiliar man. And he offered his help, took the phone and promised to call and inquire about the health of Irina’s son. He called, visited and literally warmed me with compassion and care.

At the first meeting, Irina did not recognize the man who showed concern for someone else’s child as an actor. When we got to know him better, I began to respect him, became a fan, and then his wife.

Yuri Kuznetsov turned into the family's guardian angel. Irina could no longer imagine her life without him. Moreover, he became her not only a loving and faithful husband, on whom the family rests to this day, but also actually saved her son!

“If it weren’t for Yuri, I would have lost my son,” says Irina. “He has a blood disease and needed an expensive drug. There wasn't enough money. And Yura ran around, looked for funds, and did the simply impossible! Actor Gosha Kutsenko responded to his call for help, to whom I am incredibly grateful. You can express your deep gratitude to him through the newspaper! I couldn’t have done it alone, I couldn’t have done it without support! If it weren’t for Yura, not for his friends, I would have lost my son, it would have been very scary! But everything ended well. The son was saved. Today he is already an adult, married, everything is fine with him, he lives separately from us. And my husband and I have a daughter together, pah-pah, no health problems!

By the way, after Yuri Kuznetsov proved himself to be a real man, capable of making his beloved woman happy and helping a step-child, his career took off. From a little-known theater artist, he turned into a screen star. Role offers pour in like a cornucopia. Today Kuznetsov is a sought-after, respected and highly paid artist. And in his personal life he has complete order.

AND AT THIS TIME

The actor continues to amaze the audience with new roles and his best spiritual qualities. The other day, as we learned, he suffered a mini-stroke, but did not postpone the tour because of this. I went to Vladivostok, despite all the doctors’ prohibitions. Still would! The audience is more important.

Movies

Kuznetsov made his film debut in 1973 in the legendary Eastern film “A Friend Among Strangers, a Stranger Among Our Own.” The actor had to wait almost 10 years for his next role in the military drama Torpedo Bombers, but his hopes were not in vain. This film was soon followed by another famous film - the drama “My Friend Ivan Lapshin”.

In the 80s, the performer was in demand in Soviet cinema. The artist’s filmography included films that gained popularity in the USSR: the philosophical and satirical comedy “Heart of a Dog,” the action film “Burnt Sun,” and the historical film “The Adventures of Quentin Dorward, Archer of the Royal Guard.” Subsequently, the actor participated in the filming of the social drama “Cold Summer of '53...”, the military-historical film “Special Forces Squad” and the melodrama “I Hate You.”

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the performer did not lose his position in cinema, like most of his colleagues. Yuri Kuznetsov, together with Alexander Abdulov, starred in the detective story “Genius”, with Nikolai Eremenko Sr. in the socio-psychological thriller “Defector”, with Vladimir Ilyin in the melodrama “Over Dark Water”, with Ingeborga Dapkunaite in the drama “Moscow Evenings” .

The press has repeatedly reported that while working on the cult action movie “Brother,” Kuznetsov even had to film with real homeless people. The actor got into character so much that the tramps believed that the artist really belonged to him and lived on the street. Fans of Russian cinema will easily recognize Yuri Alexandrovich’s photo after the film.

The next round of popularity came to the artist in 1997, when the series “Streets of Broken Lanterns” began airing on television. There, Yuri plays police lieutenant colonel Petrenko, nicknamed Mukhomor, the chief of a valiant brigade of operatives. The film also stars Mikhail Porechenkov, Evgeny Dyatlov, Alexander Lykov, Evgenia Evstigneeva, Alexander Bezrukov.

For 20 years, the “mushroom” nickname has not gotten rid of the artist, but he is not worried about this, claiming that he even likes this situation.

“Once, in some city, at a meeting, a guy about 15-16 years old came up to me, handed me a program for an autograph, looked down and said: “I don’t know your name, but I know your nickname - Fly Agaric.” This didn’t upset me at all—it amused me. No, I'm not offended. Well, okay, he became famous for his role as a cop, and that’s good,” Kuznetsov said in an interview with reporters.

Later it turned out that in “Streets” the character Yuri Kuznetsov did not have any nickname, and the designation Fly Agaric did not appear in the script at all. This nickname stuck with Kuznetsov, since actor Sergei Selin, who played the role of Dukalis, jokingly called his colleague that, and the creators of the film decided to use the new idea, implementing plans on the set.

Yuri Kuznetsov in the series “Plot”
It’s interesting that initially it was planned to make only a couple of episodes, but in the end the project lasted for many years. Kuznetsov was a participant in the series until 2003, and then played the same role in the films “Opera. Chronicles of the Homicide Department" and "Liteiny, 4".

In 2021, Kuznetsov played the Kolychevs’ servant in the film “The Duelist,” which was noted by critics. But the artist himself remembers Pavel Lungin’s creation “Tsar” more. Oprichnik Malyuta Skuratov is the celebrity hero in this film.

As Kuznetsov said, he initially applied for the main role - Ivan Lapshin. And his candidacy was even approved by the artistic council. Unlike the director, who decided that “Lapshin is open, and Kuznetsov is too cunning.” As a result, he got the role of the head of the regional police department - the first of many law enforcement officers in his filmography.

Then began filming the famous film story by Semyon Aranovich about the life and exploits of military pilots of coastal aviation - “Torpedo Bombers”. In the film, awarded the USSR State Prize, Yuri starred in the role of air regiment commander Fomenko.

In 1994, at the festival in Cannes, the premiere screening of the drama “Moscow Evenings”, created by Valery Todorovsky based on the story “Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk” by Nikolai Leskov, took place. About the mistakes of youth, mediocre TV series and the quality of cinema But Yuri Kuznetsov became widely recognizable after the release of the cult detective series “Streets of Broken Lanterns” in 1995, based on the works of Andrei Kivinov. The actor said that the character of Amanita is his personal invention. Of course, the fact that his father worked all his life in the Ministry of Internal Affairs added to the realism of the image, but “dad was not the policeman from whom Amanita is based.” "Streets of Broken Lanterns." Fragment The television series was filmed over 12 years (if you count all the “branches”), and almost everyone in the country knew its key characters. In addition, during the six years of filming in “Streets of Broken Lanterns,” the artist managed to take part in other projects that he considered interesting.

So, in 1998, in the company of Nikolai Karachentsov, he played a Cossack in Vladimir Bortko’s drama with elements of mysticism “The Circus Burnt Down and the Clowns Ran Away,” which contained discussions about the lack of meaning of human existence and the ephemeral nature of existence. Film critics called this gloomy film project “atypical” for both Karachentsov and Kuznetsov.

A small but bright role went to Yuri in Alexei Balabanov’s film “Brother”. He plays a homeless German in a St. Petersburg cemetery, greeting the hero Sergei Bodrov. According to the actor, the makeup and clothes were so convincing that the local homeless people whom Balabanov asked to appear in the crowd took him for one of their own.

In the psychological detective drama “Kamikaze Diary”, which premiered in 2002 at the “Window to Europe” film festival, Yuri Aleksandrovich masterfully played the difficult leading role of Victor, a deeply religious man, but mentally unhealthy and tormented by passions. For her brilliant embodiment, he was awarded a special festival prize for the best male role, as well as the Golden Aries award from the Guild of Film Critics of the Russian Federation.

In 2003, the artist portrayed the disabled man Duganov in the TV series “Plot” with Sergei Bezrukov, which was one of the highest-rated projects on Channel One. In addition, as always, reliably and professionally, he played the role of Stepanych, the father of Zoya (Oksana Akinshina), in the crime film “Games of Moths”.

A year later, he played the role of an admiral in Pavel Lungin’s drama “The Island”. In the story, his hero brought his possessed daughter (Victoria Isakova) to the monastery, and Father Anatoly (Peter Mamonov) healed her. Lungin liked working with Kuznetsov, and he invited him to his next film - the historical drama “Tsar”. In “Tsar,” Kuznetsov played the guardsman Malyuta Skuratov. Although critics' opinions on the film were divided, the actor himself especially highlighted his work in this film.

He convinced the director to move away from the standard image of the guardsman, presenting his character as a professional, the creator of the power structure under the tsar, and not a cruel maniac, although at first Lungin complained that Malyuta Kuznetsova was not at all scary. Yuri himself believed: In 2007, Yuri Alexandrovich, demonstrating the breadth of his creative range, reincarnated as the former titular adviser Marmeladov in the film adaptation of Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novel Crime and Punishment. He noted more than once that it was this role that fully revealed his acting talent.

Then the artist played the central role of a school principal in the comedy youth melodrama “The Prank.” He also played one of the main roles (Uncle Vasya) in the eight-episode life drama “Moscow Yard”.

The actor's notable works were the crime films "Alien District 2" (2013) and "Resort Police", released in 2014. In the first of them, he starred in the leading role of retired police colonel Sukharev, and in the second - as an old-school investigator "Dynamycha".

Theater

After parting with the Khabarovsk Drama Theater, Yuri Aleksandrovich worked at the Omsk Drama Theater (from 1979 to 1986). The film actor often recalls this period in his creative biography, claiming that he had to work a lot. “The school, I tell you, was unique. The provincial theater is not like the Moscow-St. Petersburg theater with three premieres a year. On the periphery, 7-8 performances are produced per year. Every actor in such a theater is busy every day,” recalls Kuznetsov.

In 1986, the artist was accepted into the Leningrad Comedy Theater. Akimova. Yuri Alexandrovich worked on this stage until 1996. Spectators celebrate the performances “Mad Money” and “Clean Waters of Kitezh”, because these particular productions turned out to be very interesting and successful.

Personal life

While still in Khabarovsk, Kuznetsov got married for the first time. Together with his wife he raised his daughter Natalya. The family moved to Omsk, then to St. Petersburg. But in 1991, the actor went to Moscow to film the film “The Defector,” where one day, returning to the hotel, he met 36-year-old Irina, who was raising her son alone. The boy had a blood disease.

Yuri quickly realized that he was not ready to let go of his beloved. The artist divorced the mother of his child, leaving her the apartment and all his property. Natalya was already an adult at that time, so she was able to correctly understand the situation and did not harbor a grudge against her father. A few years later, she gave Yuri Kuznetsov a grandson. The guy has already grown up and graduated from the State Maritime Academy. Admiral S. O. Makarov.

Irina did not have her own living space, so at first the couple had to live in rather difficult conditions, because the theater brought Kuznetsov almost pennies. At the age of 45, Yuri Alexandrovich began life, as they say, from scratch.

In 1995, the couple became parents - their daughter Alexandra was born. They lived as a friendly and loving family. Kuznetsov was happy in his personal life until Irina’s death in 2012 - the woman suffered from diabetes for a long time and took strong medications that weakened her body. Against this background, a stroke occurred. Doctors said that the situation was serious, but the actor continued to hope and believe in the best.

The artist looks great for his age: with a height of 177 cm, his weight does not exceed 82 kg. The actor is still ready to play diverse roles in films and continues to perform in theater productions.

Independent achievements

In 1995, Yuri Kuznetsov began to be recognized as a separate performer. Having released a remake of the legendary song from the film “Spring on Zarechnaya Street”, the man becomes a laureate of the “Song of the Year” competition.

Soon Yuri released his debut album, “Seasons,” and by 1999, the second, “Zhasso,” was released. If not for the crisis, Kuznetsov-Tayozhny would have continued to develop in the musical field, but, faced with difficulties in the field of promotion, he decides to radically change the type of activity.

In the first half of 2021, the actor’s cinematic collection was replenished with the comedy “Naughty.” Vladimir Kott's project to some extent stood out among those who have ever demonstrated the life of clergy. The fact is that the film was filmed on the territory of an active monastery.

The monks received the film crew warmly. One of them, as it later became known, was a film buff and asked for an audience with Kuznetsov. He, by the way, became the leading actor in the film and masterfully portrayed himself as a mentor. In addition to him, Viktor Khorinyak, Taisiya Vilkova and Aglaya Tarasova were involved in the acting ensemble in the positions of key characters.
