Boorish attacks of the traitor Alexei Serebryakov: where the actor lives now and why he continues to make money in Russia

Biography

Alexey Serebryakov was born on July 3, 1964 in the family of an engineer and a full-time doctor in Gorky's studio.
Since childhood, Lesha was drawn to creativity and his parents enrolled him in a music school. Alexey made progress in secondary school and was one of the best students in the music institution. In 1977, Alexey, at the age of 13, appeared on stage for the first time.

He was noticed by Mosfilm assistants; they came across a photograph of Alexey, where he plays the button accordion. It was filmed by journalists, it was completely accidental.

The journalists were writing a report about one of the music school teachers and took a photo of the honored specialist giving instructions to his student.

After graduating from school, Alexey could boast of six main roles in famous films. Alexey played a son in the film “Father and Son”. He was very similar to the actor Spiridonov, which played a big role. Then the artist played in the serial film “Eternal Call”.

Medicine and education

Since Alexei’s wife Maria has Canadian citizenship, both she and the children receive free medical care from the state. The artist does not plan to become a Canadian citizen, so he has to pay for all services. For example, last year Alexey was hospitalized and forked out nine thousand dollars for five days in a medical facility. The reason why the actor ended up there is unknown. He himself comments on this situation like this: “I was saved.”

Regarding education. Stepdaughter Daria received both secondary and higher education in Canada. Even then, Alexey noted the quality of the educational system. The artist always spoke kindly about the school where Dasha studied. True, the class teacher did not know Russian, but this did not become an obstacle to their communication. Computer translators came to the rescue.

Stepan and Daniil now attend a private school. A year of training costs an artist twenty-four thousand dollars. However, Alexei is happy with everything. There is a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the school and class, there is no bullying, and there have been no particular disagreements or scandals with the teaching staff.

From the Syzran Theater to Taganka

Serebryakov had every chance to enter a theater university after school. But desire alone was not enough and the actor could not pass the exams. Then Alexey went to study at the Moscow Energy Institute. But nothing went beyond passing the exams.

He did not want to spend precious years of his life studying at the radio and television department. Having received an offer to become an actor in the Syzran Theater troupe, he immediately went there. At that time, the actor was 17 years old.

Today Serebryakov notes that it was just an adventure, he wanted to sow good and eternal things, and salary and public attention came in second place. The actor worked there for season 1 and returned to the capital of the Russian Federation. His plans were to continue his studies, but at a theater institution.

In 1982, the actor passed exams at the Shchepkin School. In 1984 he moved to GITIS. In 1986, he received a diploma and joined the troupe of Oleg Tabakov’s studio, and in 1991 he left work in the troupe and began collaborating with the Taganka Theater.

Student years

After graduating from school in 1981, the young man decided to enroll in Pike, but, oddly enough, he didn’t succeed the first time, despite his impressive experience. Having given up on everything, Alexey went to Syzran and got a job as an actor in the local drama theater for 70 rubles a month. For some time he lived in a shabby hostel, dreaming of bringing good and eternal things to people, but, as the actor recalled with slight sadness, the province quickly put him in his place.

After 8 months, he returned to Moscow and tried his luck at the Sliver selection committee. This time he managed to get in. Two years later, he transferred to Oleg Tabakov’s course at GITIS, which he graduated in 1986.

It is widely believed that as a student Serebryakov was a notorious rowdy and womanizer. The actor’s classmates debunked this myth - he drank no more than the rest, and against the backdrop of violent passions on their course (just the story with Oleg Tabakov and Marina Zudina), Serebryakov’s amorous affairs seemed dull.

The actor considers “Leviathan” the main film in his career.

Appeared on screens in the tragicomedy “How Vitka Chesnok took Lekha Shtyr to the nursing home.” The actor appeared in the role of a seasoned criminal with a disability. Alexey can also be seen in the fantasy blockbuster “The Legend of Kolovrat” in the role of Prince Yuri.

Personal life and charity

In 1980, Alexey met Maria. There was no passionate romance between them, and therefore the couple broke up.

Maria even married a Canadian. In the 90s, fate brought the young people together once again in Moscow. Maria divorced and soon got together with Serebryakov.

After the wedding, the family lived in the Moscow region. Alexey and his three children (adopted daughter and 2 sons) took care of 5 dogs.

In 2012, the Serebryakovs moved to Canada permanently. The actor himself wished for this and even refused his Russian passport.

He notes that he wants his children to live in a country where education, career and personal freedom are put in the foreground, and not the desire to reach the pinnacle of success using connections, as is customary in his homeland.

Alexey Serebryakov is engaged in social activities. Together with his acting colleagues, Alexey Serebryakov organized a charity foundation called “Time to Live.” True, the actor does not talk about his charitable work to the press.

Life in a new place

Actually, it was precisely because of the spouse’s citizenship that there were no doubts regarding the choice of a new place of residence. As a result, the family moved to Toronto, where they lived in a townhouse. Alexey admits that he enjoys the peace and tranquility here. The house is located in a cozy area remote from the metropolis. There is an opportunity to enjoy nature and breathe fresh air. The environmental situation is amazing, so now Alexey does not worry about the health of his children.

Another huge advantage of living in Canada is that the artist can easily walk around the city and go into any shops. In Russia, he was unable to pull off such a trick: the actor was immediately surrounded on all sides by fans who asked for an autograph. There is no excitement around his person here.

The Russian diaspora lives in another area, where Alexey rarely visits. But even when he meets with his compatriots in Canada, he notes that they are calm about his appearance and do not impose their society.

"The escape"

After the release of the series “Penal Battalion,” almost every actor’s film work is worthy of special attention. In 2005, Alexey Serebryakov played the role of a police colonel in the film “Escape.” Films with a similar plot are known to both Russian and foreign viewers. The main character's wife dies, and he is accused of her murder. Then the widower has no choice but to restore justice. However, the creators of the film “Escape” assured that its plot was absolutely original. One way or another, the film became the box office leader. And Serebryakov has embodied the image of a strong, honest, courageous police officer more than once on screen.

"Afghan break"

In the early nineties, Alexey Serebryakov became quite a popular actor. His filmography was replenished with new roles every year. But real fame came to him with Vladimir Bortko’s film “Afghan Break”.

The film tells the story of the events that accompanied the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. Filming took place in 1990 in Tajikistan. Of course, the film owed its popularity primarily to the leading actor, Italian film star Michele Placido. In addition to Serebryakov, such domestic actors as Tatyana Dogileva, Philip Yankovsky, Yuri Kuznetsov, Nina Ruslanova also played in the film. The hero of this article played the role of Sergeant Arsenov - a man who cannot imagine his life without war.

Actor Alexey Serebryakov, whose filmography includes about seventy roles, starred in the following films before the 2000s:

  1. "Squadron".
  2. "Key".
  3. "Casanova's Cloak."
  4. "Lube Zone".
  5. "Train Arrival"
  6. "Hammer and sickle".
  7. "Thin little thing."
  8. "Tests for real men."

"PiraMMMida"

In the nineties, everyone knew the name of Sergei Mavrodi. Many people still remember him today. In 2011, Eldar Salavatov made a film based on the story of this extraordinary personality. Serebryakov played the main role in this film. But his hero has little in common with the famous swindler. For the role of Mamontov, Serebryakov was nominated for the Golden Eagle award.

Alexey Serebryakov biography

Stars' reaction to Serebryakov's statement

Serebryakov's revelations caused a flurry of discussions in the press. A person who lives comfortably in Canada with funds received from Russians, including “elements” living at a distance of 30, 50, 70 kilometers from Moscow, with money that boors and ignoramuses brought to the cinema to see a picture with Serebryakov, has the courage to throw out Russophobic statements.

The immediate reaction to the actor’s statement in the cultural environment was not long in coming. It is not surprising that Serebryakov left Russia with a scandal, because only a few came to his defense. Most are sure that Alexey is not feeling well and his mind is clouded.

The famous singer Edita Piekha suggested that actor Serebryakov is not himself and he urgently needs to “see a doctor.”

Karen Shakhnazarov, a film director who heads the Mosfilm film concern, believes that Serebryakov’s statement is “ugly and dishonest.”

Alexander Zhuravlev, State Duma deputy (Rodina party), called for Serebryakov to be deprived of citizenship.

Vladimir Bortko, director, sympathized with Alexey. He noted that he shot Serebryakov in two films, and both were patriotic. There were no anti-Russian statements from him during that period.

The national idea in our country should be considered love for the motherland. Thanks to her, the Russian people steadfastly endured trials for centuries, being in a not so friendly environment. Alexey, by the way, is a good artist, but a good artist is not necessarily a smart person.

Andrei Konchalovsky joined Bortko’s sympathies regarding Serebryakov. Despite the fact that he had to live and work in the West for many years, Konchalovsky’s attitude towards the country and the people living in it has not changed.

Honestly, I have nothing but sympathy for Serebryakov. I want to believe that the artist will continue to work in Russia and live here, since hardly anyone in the West needs him.

Dmitry Pevtsov, who noted that he has not yet seen the interview with his colleague, but believes that the stupid hype around Serebryakov, who left Russia with a scandal, was deliberately created by people engaged in self-PR.

Representatives of the media turned to the actor for clarification, and Serebryakov explained that he spoke unambiguously about Russia, and if he needs to add something else, he will finish it off to Dudu.

Childhood and youth, family

Alexey Serebryakov was born in Moscow in 1964. No one then on the third of July could even think that a future film actor had been born. None of the relatives in the family were actors, but the mother was close to this environment, as she worked as a doctor at the Gorky Studio. The father of the future star actor was a simple man and worked as an engineer.

Alexey Serebryakov in childhood
Alexey's childhood was very ordinary: he loved to spend time in the yard with his friends. He read a lot and was a very inquisitive boy. Serebryakov studied well at school and was even an excellent student. He also managed to attend music school, which later played a huge role in his cinematic career.

The fate of man: Serebryakov by Boris Korchevnikov

In April 2021, the artist took part in Boris Korchevnikov’s famous program “The Fate of a Man.”

“The Fate of Man” with Alexey Serebryakov

Alexey talked about his move to Canada, career, family. Serebryakov said that he and Masha had long dreamed of having a child together: “I wanted natural children, I won’t hide it. But, apparently, fate decreed otherwise.”

about family and children

Alexey Serebryakov with Boris Korchevnikov

The actor said that the boys Stepan and Danila are family to him. The first time after adoption was not easy with them: “Dana was given various bad diagnoses, he looked like a small animal. It was even more difficult with Stepan: he didn’t eat from the plate, didn’t talk.”

story about yourself

Alexey spoke about his wife and children

According to Alexei, his wife needs to “erect a monument”: “She suffered a lot until her sons recognized her as a mother. I’m still amazed at how much strength and patience she has.”

"My children"

Alexey Serebryakov is an exemplary family man. He is raising three children. And they are all adopted. In 2007, the actor played the role of a man who is also raising someone else's child. But he understands that “all children are his own” only at the end of this heartbreaking story. Alena Babenko and Liza Arzamasova became partners on the set.

The film “Own Children” tells the story of the life of a lonely but still young figure skater, whose career was interrupted after a serious injury. Dina – that’s the name of Babenko’s heroine – gets a job in a boarding school for mentally retarded children, where she meets a difficult but talented girl, Lada. Later, the woman meets her future husband, played by Alexey Serebryakov.

"Gloss"

In the film by Andrei Konchalovsky, released in 2007, Serebryakov appeared before the audience in an unusual image for himself. The main character of the film is a provincial girl who is not distinguished by her beauty, but demonstrates incredible determination. She leaves her native Rostov and goes to the capital, where she meets people whose faces regularly appear on the covers of glossy magazines. One of them is the glamorous, not at all courageous Stasis, played by Alexey Serebryakov. His hero is a fashion critic. He once, like the main character, came from Rostov. He got rid of the provincial dialect, made a career and is now the brightest representative of the Moscow gloss.

Moving to Canada. Further career

In 2012, Alexey Serebryakov and his family moved to the Canadian city of Toronto. The actor cited the growth of aggression and intolerance in Russia, the unfavorable social situation and the disregard for the norms of the rule of law on the part of the authorities as the motive for this decision. “A person should live where he can realize his best,” says Alexey. I want my children to understand that knowledge and hard work can be valued, that it is not necessary to push elbows, be rude, be aggressive and be afraid of people. Serebryakov’s wife (more about personal read the actor’s life below) is a Canadian citizen, originally from Toronto. They met in Russia, and the actor’s eldest daughter was born in her mother’s hometown. So the choice of the Serebryakovs’ new place of residence is quite understandable.

However, attacks from overly patriotic citizens could not be avoided. Andrei Zvyagintsev’s film “Leviathan” added fuel to the fire, after which Alexey Serebryakov was branded a “traitor.” Interview with Alexey Serebryakov about life in Canada In the film, nominated for an Oscar and won a Golden Globe, which received 11 nominations for Nika and a prize Cannes Film Festival for best screenplay, Serebryakov plays the main role - an honest, hard-working auto mechanic Nikolai from a provincial town in the Arctic Circle. A local official (Roman Madyanov) had his eye on his land and decided to take away the tasty plot at any cost.

“Leviathan”: Alexey Serebryakov as Nikolai After the premiere of “Leviathan”, society was divided into two camps: some admired the realism with which the creators of the film conveyed Russian reality, others were indignant: “An exaggerated, disgusting prop with moral monsters!”

Photos from the filming of “Leviathan” By the way, Serebryakov himself does not consider the move to be immigration - he just wanted to know what it was like to live in another, peaceful and calm territory. He continues to work in Russia and has no plans to renounce Russian citizenship.

So, in 2015, he joined the cast of the detective series “Method” with Konstantin Khabensky and Paulina Andreeva, taking on the role of a maniac nicknamed Strelok. In the same year, the premiere of the film “Clinch” by Sergei Puskepalis with Serebryakov in the title role took place in Toronto.

Serebryakov about Putin

Along with the actor’s dissatisfaction with the presence of “elements of the 90s” in society, he speaks about the current government in a far from rosy manner. Alexei Serebryakov, People’s Artist of Russia, explained that what he doesn’t like about President Putin is “endless lies and theft.” You can find the full quote in the interview with actor Yuri Duda at the 58th minute.

According to Serebryakov, he and the president have different views on the world. “No matter how I speak out, it doesn’t change anything, it won’t remake him,” the artist explained.

I'm tired of the events happening in Russia. If you want, consider yourself to have escaped. Life isn't that long, I'm not going to wait for people to wise up. No one knows how long he has left, but it is important for me that children learn: there are many opportunities in the world and you can live differently. We believe that in the West they smile insincerely, but for me, a fake smile is better than outright anger.

After Serebryakov left Russia with a scandal, journalists compiled a list of actors who spoke harshly about our country and their compatriots, but, as a matter of course, received income in the domestic theater and cinema. Today, the unofficial list of Russophobes includes: Alexey Serebryakov, Anatoly Pashinin, Dmitry Dyuzhev and Konstantin Raikin, artistic director of the Satyricon Theater. Alexey Serebryakov commented on this matter: he called the list “stupid.”

"Leviathan"

The premiere of the film by Andrei Zvyagintsev took place in 2014. Leviathan is a terrible mythical monster. In the film, he is symbolized by state power. Its representatives are capable of destroying human life. And then they build temples and tell their children about God, not realizing that they violate the basic commandments every day.

Serebryakov plays a car mechanic in this sensational film. Sergeev is an ordinary person, he has worked all his life. Family and home are the only values for him. But one day his peaceful existence is disrupted by a corrupt official who dreams of taking over the land that has belonged to the Sergeev family for decades. A car mechanic loses in a war with a government official. Under unclear circumstances, his wife dies. He is also accused of murder. Sergeev's house is demolished, and after some time a temple is built in its place.
