Biography. early years

The future actress and director was born in the capital of the USSR in the family of physics teacher Vitaly Pavlovich and elementary school teacher Galina Naumovna (nee Belotserkovskaya).

For the first six years, Vera and her family lived in Moscow on Alexei Tolstoy Street near the Patriarch's Ponds. This was the house of the People's Commissariat of Railways. Vera’s maternal grandfather Naum Ovseevich, who worked in the People’s Commissariat in the 1930s until he was shot, received an apartment there. His wife Sheina Moiseevna was sentenced to 8 years in the camps; she served her sentence in ALZHIR*.

In 1962, the Glagolev family moved to Izmailovo, but did not stay there for long, as they soon moved to the GDR. There, Vera’s parents worked at the 103rd Russian school in the town of Karl-Marx-Stadt (now Chemnitz). They lived there for four years.

In her youth, Vera was fond of archery and even became a master of sports at the age of 19. According to Wikipedia, she played for the youth team of the capital.

Start of a film career

Vera's film debut took place in 1974. The girl who had just graduated from school was noticed at Mosfilm by the cameraman of the film “To the End of the World...”. Vera was invited to audition, and the director of the film, Rodion Nakhapetov, was pleased with the relaxedness of the recent schoolgirl, approving her for the main role.

Glagoleva also starred in several more films by Rodion (“Enemies”, “Don’t Shoot White Swans” and “About You”), which was facilitated by the fact that she became his wife.

After Anatoly Efros invited Glagoleva to appear in his film “On Thursday and Never Again” in 1977, she had a chance to end up in the theater on Malaya Bronnaya. However, Nakhapetov advised his wife not to go to Efros, which she later regretted.

All-Union fame came to Vera in 1985 after the release of Vitaly Melnikov’s film “Marry the Captain.” For her role in this film, she was even recognized as actress of the year according to Soviet Screen.

Since the late 90s, the actress has starred mainly in TV series such as “Maroseyka, 12”, “Heiress”, “Island Without Love”, etc. Also in the 90s, she appeared in Tigran Keosayan’s New Year’s comedy “Poor Sasha” , where her partners were Alexander Zbruev and Valery Garkalin, who became famous from the film “Shirley-Myrli”.

Glagoleva’s last work as an actress was the role of Anna in the drama “Ark”, directed by Alexander Kott.

Happiness to be together

Natalya Shlyapnikoff and Rodion Nahapetov became husband and wife in the fall of 1991, and then got married in the Orthodox Church. Natalya also led Nakhapetov to faith. He saw how important this was for her, and began to think about the meaning of life and go to church.

Not everything in their life was always simple. There was a time when they couldn't even pay the mortgage on the house they bought and had to rent it out. The couple themselves temporarily lived in a summer house with relatives.

Over time, things began to improve, but one day a telephone rang in their house. An unknown man said that his daughter has a heart defect and the operation can only be performed on her in America. This man remembered Nakhapetov from his roles in films and decided: if an actor plays good people, then he himself is a good person.

Rodion and Natalya did not have the money to help their inconsolable father. But Natasha, with her characteristic energy, began calling cardiac surgeons in the morning and found one who agreed to perform the operation on the Russian girl for free.

After a successful operation, the girl returned home, and more and more people began to turn to Nakhapetov and Natalya for help. This is how their fund for helping children with heart defects, the Nakhapetov Friendship Fund, was born, which has already saved hundreds of lives.

Natalya Shlyapnikoff and Rodion Nakhapetov have been together for almost 27 years. And they know for sure: happiness exists and it has no expiration date. Then, many years ago, they made a difficult but correct decision: to be happy together.

Unfortunately, the 15-year marriage of Rodion Nakhapetov and Vera Glagoleva

broke up, but both had the wisdom to maintain an even relationship for the sake of the children. When the actress died, he flew to Moscow to say his last “sorry” to the woman he once loved.

Director's career

Glagoleva's directorial debut came in 1990. Based on the script by Svetlana Grudovich, she made the film “Broken Light,” which tells about actors who were left without work during the collapse of the USSR. The film was released only in 2001 due to copyright issues. Glagoleva not only took the director’s chair, but also assigned herself one of the roles.

In 1991, at the Odessa Film Festival, she met businessman Kirill Shubsky. She asked him to finance the film, he refused, but a spark ran between the two people, and they later got married.

After “Broken Light” Vera Vitalievna took a long break from directing. She decided to return to filming only in the mid-2000s. It was then that her second film, “Order,” was released. Glagoleva wrote the script for it herself, and starred Larisa Guzeeva, Alexander Baluev, Vladimir Sterzhakov and Natalya Vdovina. For this film, the director received the audience award at the Pacific Meridian festival, which traditionally takes place in Vladivostok.

The third film didn't have to wait that long. The melodrama “Ferris Wheel,” starring Ilya Shakunov, Alena Babenko and Vladimir Zeldin, received the Grand Prix of the 1st Golden Phoenix festival in Smolensk.

Vera Glagoleva’s fourth film, “One War,” was awarded at more than 30 international film festivals (in Monte Carlo, Vyborg and St. Petersburg, Smolensk, Kazan, Cairo, Sofia, etc.). He talks about the difficult fate of Soviet women who gave birth to children from German soldiers. Alexander Baluev again starred in this film from Glagoleva.

Vera’s fifth film was the film “Casual Acquaintances”, after which, under the name “Two Women”, she brought to the screen Ivan Turgenev’s play “A Month in the Country”. This is the second film in the creative biography of Vera Glagoleva, for which she also wrote the script herself. The film was awarded at festivals in Blagoveshchensk, Smolensk and Kaluga.

Glagoleva’s latest directorial opus was the film “Not Strangers.” Vera Vitalievna managed to film the main part of the film, and after her death the producer and her good friend Natalya Ivanova completed the work. The premiere special screening of the film took place at the Kinotavr festival in June 2018.

Almost an office romance

Then the Paramount studio still rejected his idea, but Nakhapetov decided not to give up. With Natasha's help, he met the right people and conducted a lot of negotiations. When his constant presence in Los Angeles was required, Natalya invited him to stay in her house, where there was a free room.

He watched Natalya’s life and was amazed at how energetic and enthusiastic she was. She was enthusiastically involved in his affairs, and most importantly, she believed in him.

He was endlessly grateful to this pretty woman, and later his gratitude began to grow into something more. Natasha, too, initially did not even think about any relationship with Rodion. She just wanted to help him.

But when two halves meet, it is difficult to avoid getting closer. The more they had to communicate, the clearer it became: they have the same views on life, very similar tastes and a similar attitude towards people in need of help.

By the time Vera Glagoleva arrived on tour in America, Rodion had already decided to divorce. At the same time, the actress acted very wisely: she brought her children with her so that they could communicate with their father and not harbor resentment towards him. No matter how difficult it was for her, she did everything so that the girls did not feel left out.

Death and funeral

For the last 10 years of her life, Glagoleva fought stomach cancer as best she could. He became the cause of her death. Vera died in a German clinic, where she was undergoing treatment at that moment.

Before this, the last time she appeared in public was at the wedding of her daughter Anastasia. Photos of Vera Glagoleva from that wedding went viral on the news.

Vera Vitalievna outlived her parents. Vera Glagoleva's parents died in 2007 (father) and 2010 (mother). She also survived her older brother Boris. He lived in Hamburg and was involved in editing documentaries. He also died of cancer in January 2017 and is buried in Germany.

After Glagoleva’s death, her services were recognized with a number of awards. So, in December 2017, during the TEFI-Region award ceremony, she was posthumously awarded a special prize for her contribution to the development of domestic TV, and in early June 2018, she was posthumously awarded an honorary prize at the Kinotavr festival. The award was given to her daughter Anna.

The couple registered their marriage in 1976. According to Rodion's memoirs, their relationship was not love at first sight. Vera always looked up to him, like a student to a teacher. First of all, it was work, but romantic feelings appeared gradually until they grew into love and marriage. By and large, it was an office romance.

The couple were considered the most beautiful and talented couple in Russian cinema. From their marriage two daughters were born, two beautiful girls - Anna and Maria Nakhapetova.

Personal life of Vera Glagoleva

The actress's first husband was director Rodion Nakhapetov, who was 12 years older than her. She lived with him until the late 80s, when the director left for the USA, where he began dating producer Natalya Shlyapnikoff. After this, the couple divorced.

In her marriage to Nakhapetov, Glagoleva gave birth to two daughters - Anna and Maria. Anna, born in 1978, became a ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater and a film actress. As a child, together with her mother, she starred in the film “Sunday Dad”, and already as an adult she performed one of the roles in the film “One War”, which was directed by Glagoleva Sr. At one time, Anna was married to her colleague from Bolshoi Yegor Simachev, with whom she gave birth to a daughter, Polina (now she is 13).

The second daughter from Nakhapetov, Maria, was born at the end of June 1980. After getting married, she moved to the States. After the divorce, Maria returned to Moscow, where she still lives. Now married again. She gave birth to her mother two grandchildren - Kirill (now 12) and Miron (now 7).

Meeting overseas

She and Vera Glagoleva had been married for 15 years. It was he who saw her huge acting potential and convinced her to act in films. He took her to the main role in his film “To the End of the World,” after which they never parted. The marriage produced two daughters, Anya and Masha. Rodion Nakhapetov filmed her in all his films. And the very first film, in which there was no role for his wife, was the beginning of the end of their family life.

It was this film, “At the End of the Night,” that was bought by the American studio 20th Century Fox. Natasha Shlyapnikoff attended one of the film screenings. After viewing, she approached Oleg Rudnev, who was presenting the picture, to express her admiration.

When six months later Nakhapetov was invited to participate in an advertising campaign, he himself met Natasha. She invited the director to represent his interests in the States as a manager.

Returning to Moscow, he began working on ideas for new paintings and sent them to his new friend. She carefully studied each synopsis, almost all ideas were rejected by her, only one found a response. With the assistance of Natalya, the application was seen by Paramount studio president Barry London, who invited the author for a conversation.

Natasha met Rodion Nakhapetov at the airport. It was at that moment that some spark flashed between them, but each of them pushed away thoughts about the possibility of a relationship. Rodion still had a wife and two children in Moscow, Natalya had a husband and a daughter was growing up.

Kirill Shubsky: husband of Vera Glagoleva, lover of Khorkina and father-in-law of Ovechkin

Vera Glagoleva’s second husband is businessman Kirill Shubsky. He was eight years younger than her. In marriage with him, Vera Glagoleva had a third daughter, Anastasia. She graduated from the production department of VGIK and starred in several films, but her wedding with Russian national team and Washington Capitals hockey player Alexander Ovechkin brought her fame. A year after her mother’s death, Anastasia’s son Sergei was born.

There is also an unpleasant scandal associated with Shubsky. In 2011, the father of Olympic gymnastics champion Svetlana Khorkina stated that Kirill is the biological father of his grandson Svyatoslav (previously the actor Levan Uchaneishvili was called the father). Khorkina herself, in her autobiography “Somersaults in Heels,” described in detail how she met with a billionaire, although he was married to Glagoleva.
