Biography of Vera Brezhneva's husband - Konstantin Meladze
On May 11, 1963, a boy was born into an ordinary family of Batumi engineers Shota and Nelly Meladze, who was named Konstantin. Later, Kostya had a younger brother, Valery, and a sister, Liana.
The boy liked music from early childhood, but he decided to study at a music school after watching the film “Oginsky’s Polonaise.”
At the boy’s request, he was enrolled in a music school (violin and piano class). But the mere desire to learn how to play was not enough.
According to the teachers, the boy had neither an ear for music nor a sense of rhythm. And his appearance did not in any way correspond to the image of the future artist. He has always been tall (now his height is 1 m 90 cm), and he also stuttered. Most likely, the latter led to the boy's isolation.
The persistent guy did not listen to the teachers’ verdict and taught himself to play the guitar, and then was able to master other musical instruments.
After graduating from high school, Kostya entered the shipbuilding institute in Nikolaev. Over time, his younger brother will follow his example.
In addition to studying at the university, the guys were engaged in creativity. A talented musical tandem began to form during their student years.
1989 became a turning point in the life and work of the brothers. Their recording got to the leader and producer of the Dialogue group, Kim Breitburg. He liked the work of beginning artists, so he invited them to his musical group.
1990 was marked by the release of a music album recorded with the participation of new artists. Since 1993, the brothers began working independently. In their own program, Valery sang only those songs that his brother wrote.
Since 2000, Konstantin’s collaboration with Ukrainian producer D. Kostyuk began. This year the partners founded the VIA Gra group. The musical group very quickly gained popularity in their country and in the Russian Federation.
Meladze is a producer of many famous singers and musical groups, and he also writes songs for them. We are talking about Valery Meladze, Vera Brezhneva, the groups “VIA Gra” and “MBAND”.
Konstantin's songs are in the repertoire of Alla Pugacheva, Sofia Rotaru, Ani Lorak, Kristina Orbakaite, Valeria, Polina Gagarina, Grigory Leps, Anastasia Prikhodko, Taisiya Povaliy, Verka Serduchka, VIA Gra, BiS, Yin-Yang and others .
In February 2003, the composer became a co-founder of First Musical Publishing House LLC.
For several years in a row, Meladze acted as a producer and wrote songs for musicals released during the New Year holidays. In 2001 it was “Evenings on a farm near Dikanka”, in 2002 – “Cinderella”, in 2004 – “Sorochinskaya Fair”. In 2008, Konstantin became the producer of the acclaimed film “Hipsters.”
In 2007, the next “series” of the Russian “Star Factory-7” was released, produced by both Meladze brothers.
Ukrainian television also worked on creating its own version of the “factory”. In 2009, “New Channel” invited Konstantin to head the “Star Factory-3”.
Project participants were selected from many cities of Ukraine and already in October of the same year, viewers were able to plunge into the world of the music show.
Cooperation with Ukrainian television continued in 2010. This time the composer acted as producer of the talent show “Ukraine Doesn’t Believe in Tears.”
The elder Meladze’s production activities do not end there. In 2011 and 2012, he acted as a producer for “The Voice of the Country” (the Ukrainian version of the popular vocal competition “The Voice of the Country”). Next was another interesting project “Voice. Children", which aired on the channel "1+1" (Ukraine).
In 2012, the next International Competition of Young Performers “New Wave” was held in Jurmala. As part of this competition, a creative evening of the composer took place on July 27, 2012. His songs have been performed by more than 30 famous and emerging performers.
In the same year, on August 12, the talented composer and producer was awarded the honorary title “Honored Artist of Ukraine.”
After the announcement of the demise of the group “VIA Gra” (December 2012), the producer spoke about the start of a new talent show “I want to go to VIA Gra”, which will be aired on the NTV channel.
In September 2013, the producer decided to assemble a new girl group through this show. Wonderful representatives from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan arrived for the casting.
When the new lineup was assembled, Meladze began another project - creating a boy band. The casting of young talented artists from different CIS countries was announced on April 30, 2014.
In the fall of the same year, a new show “I want to go to Meladze” began, thanks to which the vocal pop group “MBAND” was created.
On December 11, 2012, K. Meladze officially registered Via Gra Group LLC in the Russian Federation, becoming its founder and general director.
Continuing his production activities, Meladze in 2015 worked on a new musical project called “Main Stage”. The direction of this competition is neoclassical. As a result, the winner was Sardor Milano, whose coach was Konstantin.
Season 7 of “The Voice,” released in October 2021 on Channel One, did not go unnoticed and the active participation of the elder Meladze. His ward Petr Zakharov became the winner of the competition.
Konstantin served as a coach for the competition participants in the 8th season of the popular show “The Voice” (October 2021).
Vera Brezhneva's first husband
