We’ll also talk about how to get a video as quickly as possible and what the average price for wedding video shooting is.

Why do you need a professional videographer?

We've revealed the secret, Fellini and Kubrick can stop spinning. We know where so many tasteless wedding videos come from. In these videos, people fuss for a long time and monotonously to solemn music. It's impossible to watch. Yes, no one will try, except those who ordered this video shooting.

Bad wedding videos exist because we want to save money. We think it's easy to make good videos and therefore they should be cheap. This is how we released amateur operators onto the market who work for little pay.

YesYes insists: for good wedding video shooting you need a professional cameraman . For three reasons:

  1. He is experienced . Therefore, he will not miss important moments: the mother of the bride furtively brushes away a tear of happiness; the indescribable emotion of a friend who did not expect to catch the bouquet; the groom clasps his hands excitedly before the ceremony; the delighted nephews saw the cake.
  2. This is also a skilled . He will edit the video so that it looks like a complete story of your life.
  3. And a professional operator has expensive equipment , which he changes after wear.

In our Catalog you will find real professionals and you won’t have to worry - your memories will be in good hands.

A wedding videographer will tell you about your wedding day in the language of cinema. This story will turn into a real family heirloom that your children and grandchildren will see.

Do you need a wedding video: 7 reasons to invite a videographer

Few couples refuse the services of a videographer, but some still prefer to do without video shooting. True, they really regret it later: according to surveys, the lack of a wedding video ranks high on the list of the main regrets of the bride and groom about their wedding day. Here are a few facts that will convince you that you absolutely need a videographer.

1. Video can become an element of entertainment.
The popular SDE (same day edit) wedding film format is a wedding clip edited on the same day. It can be shown to guests during a gala dinner and made a separate number in the program.

2. You will not miss any moments of the wedding.

It's impossible to be in two places at the same time, and therefore you may miss some touching, funny or important moments while you are busy with the groom or guests. If you invite a professional videographer, he will definitely capture the brightest moments of the special day, and you will be able to see everything you missed.

Many couples note that their wedding day flew by unnoticed. Having a wedding video will give you a complete picture of the day.

3. You will not forget what you were told.

On your wedding day, you will hear so many toasts and nice words that you will definitely not be able to remember everything. But really, in 10 years you will hardly be able to reproduce the groom’s solemn vow. But you can always watch the video and refresh your memories.

4. You will be able to look at yourself from the outside.

On your wedding day, you see everything that is happening with your own eyes and do not see yourself at all - the main character of this event. Wedding photos and especially videos are a great chance to see how amazing you looked in your wedding dress, how touchingly you shed a tear during the registration ceremony, what emotions were reflected on your face. And even if you don’t really like being photographed and think that static poses don’t suit you, the video won’t disappoint you - it will definitely make you look natural and at ease.

5. You will remember people who are no longer around.

Many years from now, you will be pleased to watch a video of you having fun with a friend who has now moved to another country, and your beloved granny tenderly hugs you and congratulates you on your big day. Unfortunately, some people leave our lives, and a wedding video is a wonderful memory of them and how they experienced wonderful emotions with you.

6. You can show the video to your children.

When your future children ask you about what your wedding was like, you won't have to describe your outfit, decor, and feelings in words—you can just show them a movie about your big day.

7. You will watch the video many more times.

And every time it will become more and more valuable to you. This is a memory of the birth of your family, and therefore in 10, 20, 30 years it will be even more pleasant for you to plunge into the atmosphere of that very day when it all began...

What does the job of a wedding videographer include?

Each specialist has several package offers that determine:

  • number of hours of shooting
  • length of finished video
  • installation and processing
  • digital recording

The operator may include a short wedding clip or a movie trailer in the offer package. We’ll talk more about the trailer below, answering the question “What’s fashionable in wedding videography now?”

The finished film lasts 60-80 minutes, the music video with the best moments lasts 3-5 minutes. The video should ideally be HD quality.

What do you need to know before choosing a videographer?

Before you start your search, decide with the groom what exactly you expect from a wedding video. Should it be a short clip with music, including the most important moments of the day, or do you want coverage of the ceremony? What style of shooting and editing do you like? Do you need quadcopter photography? What budget are you willing to allocate? Are you planning a pre-wedding love-story shoot?

Most likely, you will have to watch quite a lot of wedding clips to clearly formulate your requirements for filming, but do not waste time on this - after all, like photos, video from a wedding is a memory that will remain with you for many years.

How much do videographer services cost?

Prices depend on the region of Ukraine, the specialist’s work experience, the format of filming and editing. Hourly pay is approximately 500-700 hryvnia, and a package offer will cost from 2,000 to 10,000 thousand. The bride and groom often ask: “Why is it so expensive?” YesYes will share knowledge so that you understand what you are paying money for.

Work on the wedding day (number of hours)

A videographer at a wedding is a service provider; he doesn’t walk around and have fun. He works at the gathering, at the ceremony, at the walk and at the banquet. It takes into account angles, light, composition and further editing. And all this time he is filming.

Fare

The videographer usually follows you all day in his personal car. He not only needs to be on time everywhere, but also transport equipment: camera, batteries, microphones, batteries, stands, image stabilization system and other equipment.

Material processing and installation

After the wedding, the main body of work begins. Making a film can last from several days to several months.

Cost of equipment

Good craftsmen do not skimp on technology. Because the quality of work and the reputation of the videographer depend on the equipment. One professional camera is designed for approximately 1000 hours of work. If a shooting day lasts approximately 12 hours, after 80 holidays the camera will need to be replaced.

Equipment depreciation

In other words, maintaining equipment in proper working condition, repairing or replacing it.

Finished product packaging

Good service includes a pleasant presentation. A flash drive with a wedding video will be beautifully designed by a professional videographer. The costs of printing materials and submission are his responsibility.

Remember: the video that a professional makes for you will outlive your wedding manicure and the taste of the cake for a long time.

Reviews of videographers and photographers

Hi all! We had a wedding on September 20, 2014. I would like to leave a review and parting words for brides! They decided to have the wedding 2 months after the proposal; they didn’t plan anything before that. And September is again just the season for weddings. All the photographers I checked and scheduled turned out to be busy, leaving either inexpensive and not particularly professional ones, or professional ones with a price tag of 30 thousand. The wedding budget was limited, so we chose from inexpensive ones... (10-15 thousand). One of my friends was also getting married at the beginning of September, and drew my attention to the photographer Evgenia Satskevich (it was her who was recommended to them by friends). We met with her, looked at her work (well, not super-duper, but not bad either), easy to communicate with, and with a lot of all sorts of attributes (inscriptions, letters, ribbons, balls...) In general, we decided to opt for her. Our next meeting took place at a friend’s wedding (yes, there really were inscriptions (surname, wedding date), large letters LOVE, all sorts of frames). She worked for them full day, leaving quite a pleasant impression. Our next meeting was directly on our wedding day. Zhenya arrived earlier than we agreed, but she came absolutely without any attributes, with the words: “Well, that’s what I thought, and I decided not to take anything, so that you and your friend don’t have the same thing!” ? It was the first shock that day... But she promised to fix everything and bring it. After she removed my fees, she went to meet the groom (to take a few photos before the ransom). 30 minutes later the groom calls asking where is the photographer? We started to find out. It turned out that Evgenia, taking our videographer with her, WENT HOME!!!!!!!!!!!! ? As a result, the groom waited for almost an hour!!!!!! The ransom began at a time when it was already necessary to go to the registry office.. As a result, the ransom in 3 minutes, take a sip of champagne, and run to the registry office.. in the end, half of the guests simply did not have time for registration, including parents! In addition to Evgenia, local photographers worked at the registry office, from whom we also took photos (as it turned out, it was not in vain. Although they are classic Soviet ones, they were taken very professionally. Every detail was provided for and excellent processing for light. These turned out to be the best photos from the wedding). Then a walk, everything was filmed... I looked at some of the shots from the camera - they were very good. The wedding passed and the wait for photos began. My friend (whose wedding was 2 weeks earlier) received the first photos, and the reviews alarmed her. The result did not live up to expectations. A couple of days later we also received the photos... For a whole day of shooting, you can choose 3-4 photos, and among those that we received, there were none of those that were shown to me on the camera on the wedding day. The colors of the photo are eye-popping! The witness's dress, instead of coral, became acid pink... the grass was acid green, the faces were white, the dress in all the photos looked like a white spot (as if there were no embroideries or rhinestones on it...), the blue shirts of the guests became almost white. And half of the photos are simply missing.. (they weren’t even shown to us, with words - they were unsuccessful). We asked to meet and look at all the photos taken that day in their original form without processing - refusal (the photographer has no time for meetings), asked to send them by email - refusal, asked for the source files of those who gave us the photos - refusal. And once upon a time, sweet Zhenya turned into a rude vixen!!!! When I expressed my dissatisfaction with her departure, the lack of props, and the fact that the colors in the photo did not suit us, they answered me: “We did not agree on the need to take anything. She left and there’s nothing wrong with that. the colors are not acidic, look at other monitors. In order to do the processing you want, buy equipment and take pictures for fun! And process it yourself as you want!” As a result of the wedding photography: 600 photos were received from the photographer, from which you can choose 3-4 and those need a little modification. Several days of negative communication in order to get at least some opportunity to get good photos. After watching it, my friends unanimously said, “The photos hurt your eyes!” And the parents asked the question: “Which of them are professional?” Advice before choosing, do not make my mistakes, be sure to enter into an agreement that will specify when, where and what time the photographer should arrive and what he should have with him. And it’s better to go to him a few months in advance, at least for a love story, so that if the result is unsatisfactory, you will have a choice of who to replace him with!

PS, fortunately, there were relatives who had DSLRs, and as a result, their shooting in AUTO mode resulted in photos of much better quality than from the “photographer”. And we looked at the photo processing time - Zhenya is such a master that he can process more than 4 photos in 1 minute (select brightness, contrast, remove or add penumbra... and save!).

How long does it take to get a wedding video?

It all depends on what month the wedding is scheduled for. The wedding peak is between July and September. At this time, due to the high demand for services, you will have to wait the longest.

It takes approximately 2-3 months to process video materials. This is a lot, but there are reasons for this. Putting together a wedding film is not just a mechanical job, it is a creative process. For a video to be aesthetically pleasing, the videographer needs to invest skills and artistic flair into it.

What's trendy in wedding videography now?

European trends. Today it is not enough just to shoot well in the “cine picture” format. The cameraman must understand drama, be a director and understand the art of screenwriting.

Beautiful shots are not created in one take. They are diverse and shot from different angles.

Wedding teasers (wedding day trailers) are small 15-second videos that show the main events of the holiday and create an irresistible desire to watch the entire film. You can post them on Instagram, Facebook or VKontakte to create a stir of anticipation among guests.

Forever in fashion: sincere emotions, real, skillfully captured by the cameraman.

Professional wedding photography: one camera or two?

Single camera shooting

A budget option. It's a bit like a home video. The shooting is done in one shot, because all manipulations with the camera will look unpleasant.

Shooting with one camera is used for clip editing. The specialist knows that he will “cut” the video. He has “interruptions” - neutral shots shot in advance and close-ups of faces and objects. He inserts these “interruptions” between individual scenes.

But filming a beautiful exit registration with one camera can turn into a disaster. A good videographer won’t even undertake such work.

Two-camera shooting

There are no problems with changing plans; cameras switch almost instantly. Different lenses are used. Close-ups are ideally conveyed: faces, emotions, position of hands, details of clothing, and general plans: architecture, nature, room decoration.

If you shoot a holiday with one camera, many moments are lost, and most angles turn out to be average. Video shot with two cameras is more enjoyable to watch.

You can simultaneously capture the bride and groom getting ready without losing a single emotion.

A more complete picture of the wedding

Your wedding vows, favorite music, and guest toasts cannot be photographed.
But these moments are so beautiful and unique! And the first dance of the bride and groom, for which you have been preparing for so long, is much better to watch in video format rather than photos. And no matter how great a professional your wedding photographer is, he simply cannot be in two places at the same time, and perhaps those moments that he unwittingly misses will remain in the wedding video. In addition to photographs, the film creates a complete, three-dimensional picture of the holiday and, without a doubt, evokes a strong emotional response.

Wedding videographer - who is he and how does he differ from a cameraman?

The happiest day of your life is just around the corner - your wedding day . The outfits have been purchased, the restaurant has been booked, and the guests have been invited. All that remains is to find a person who will professionally and creatively photograph your wedding, who will capture on film not only the external surroundings of the holiday, but also your feelings, emotions, and reverent attitude towards each other. And he will not only shoot with high quality, but also edit a bright, memorable film that you will want to watch again and again, with bated breath, with a beating heart...

Video caster himself

Such a specialist is called a videographer . Its functionality is universal: in one person it combines the work of a screenwriter, production director, cameraman, video processing and editing specialist, and designer. To ensure continuous filming, the videographer usually works in tandem with an assistant.

The cameraman , as a rule, is responsible for the technical process of filming any event - for example, a news chronicle, a cultural event, a society column. It would also be appropriate for a wedding, but the celebration filmed in chronological order is of interest only as rough material for a future wedding film. You can just as easily entrust the camera to one of the newlyweds’ relatives who knows how to take good pictures.

So, a videographer is as different from a videographer as a one-man orchestra is from a flutist. If you need a super-quality wedding film, you should choose the former over the latter.

Preparing for the shooting day

How does a wedding videographer work? To begin with, he must meet with you, find out your wishes regarding the future film: discuss the script, shooting style, and conclude an agreement for a certain package of services. The standard package of videographer services includes:

  • 10-16 hours of shooting;
  • working on creating a wedding film;
  • recording a film to disk in the required number of copies and in the selected design;
  • assistant services;
  • shooting and editing a video with music selection;
  • recording all footage onto disk for delivery to the customer.

In addition, at the first meeting, the videographer takes a test shot of the couple and explains to the newlyweds how to stay in the frame in order to look natural and not be distracted by external stimuli. It is very important that a trusting, friendly relationship is immediately established between the newlyweds and the shooting master, then there will be no unnecessary problems or negative emotions on the shooting day. You should definitely familiarize yourself with the master’s portfolio and read reviews about him.

Subtleties of the creative process

A wedding videographer uses two types of shooting – reportage and staged . Reporting involves documenting an event in the form and sequence as it actually happened. Usually this is how the bride's ransom ceremony, episodes of the wedding ceremony, the moment of congratulations of the newlyweds by guests, all sorts of undertakings and competitions held by the presenter are filmed.

The quality of sound recording is very important when shooting reportage: there should be no extraneous noise or interference. Sometimes the sound is recorded separately and then synchronized with the video sequence. This type of shooting requires a minimum of equipment: a professional camera with on-camera light, a powerful battery (it’s good if you have an additional one), and storage devices. But what is most needed is the professionalism of the videographer, his invaluable experience.

Staged photography is filming in pre-prepared conditions, according to the wedding day scenario. It is used when creating a video, transmitting such fragments of a wedding as the preparatory preparations of the bride and groom, a walk of the newlyweds along a pre-planned wedding route, a banquet in a restaurant. For this type of shooting, additional equipment is used - autonomous light sources, reflectors, so the videographer needs the help of an assistant.

Newlyweds and guests must follow the videographer’s instructions and trust his experience and creative instincts. Staged photography is designed to improve and embellish reality, to bring it closer to the ideal, while at the same time maintaining the illusion of complete naturalness. Life should sometimes resemble a fairy tale, at least on your wedding day... The quality of staged shooting, and therefore the future film, depends entirely on the skill of the videographer.

The magic of editing: creative flight and hard labor

Finally, the wedding ended, the shooting day ended, a huge amount of material was filmed... Then the most interesting and most difficult thing begins - film editing . In order to select and compose the best, unusual, iconic fragments from the vast mass of rough material, you need the virtuoso skill and hard work of a videographer. Yes, there are special computer programs, but the main thing when creating a film is still the artistic taste and creative flair of the master.

Some episodes of the wedding day are included in the film entirely, using the linear editing technique; Usually these are reportage fragments. But there is also a technique of non-linear editing, which is much more labor-intensive - this is what enlivens the film and makes it attractive to the viewer. The editor deliberately changes places of the episodes, speeds up or slows down the video sequence, and assembles each fragment of the wedding celebration from the most interesting “pieces,” like a mosaic.

The process of editing a wedding film lasting 40-60 minutes, as a rule, takes at least 50-70 hours of painstaking work by a specialist. Watching such a professionally made film is a pleasure, and showing it to friends and acquaintances is also a reason for pride.

Drawing the right conclusions

So, now you know what kind of beast a videographer is and why you can’t do without him if you want to have a beautiful, exciting video report about your own wedding. Order a wedding film from us: our highly professional professionals will perform the full range of services with high quality and at attractive prices. We are recommended to friends and family! We are always glad to see you happy and successful: capturing your happiness for history is our calling!

“Our videographer”: what to pay attention to

  • The videographer must have a spare set of equipment: batteries, lenses, equipment for recording sound.
  • Listen to your videographer. His job is to know how to make a beautiful video. He is interested in not delaying and delivering a good result.
  • Special effects a la 90s are in poor taste. Transitions in the form of hearts and doves look cheap. If such romance is stuck in a videographer’s portfolio, look for someone else.
  • During negotiations, resolve all organizational issues. For example, will it be possible to pick up the sources, what is the processing time for the video, how will he travel and where will he eat on the wedding day.
  • Select at least one operator's work and rate the picture, screensavers and music. If you managed to watch the film at least halfway through, you have a good videographer in front of you. After all, watching the wedding of strangers is very difficult.
  • Assess how creative the videographer is: whether he departs from working patterns and stereotypes, how he embodies ideas. Creative people don't work boringly and the same way.

Describe your style and aesthetics of your work

Of course, before the meeting you have already looked at the videographer’s portfolio and chosen him among many others, and yet you should not neglect to discuss the style of his work. Without being a professional, when watching a video it is difficult to separate the work of a videographer from the work of other professionals at a wedding: decorator, host, organizer, even lighting designer!

In addition, the video is the live dynamics of the wedding, and therefore a lot in it depends on the atmosphere of the holiday, on the newlyweds themselves and their guests. So let the videographer describe his approach to filming and see if his vision resonates with yours. Some professionals make a report, while others make a small movie with a plot; some use additional effects and filters, while others prefer a natural picture, etc.

How to work with a videographer?

A real videographer works under a contract. A contract is an indicator of a person’s professionalism and reliability. It indicates: the duration of work at the wedding, prepayment, cost, deadlines for transfer of finished material. The contract can include a question about the sources and indicate on what digital media you want to receive your film.

The contract discusses force majeure circumstances and how best to resolve them. They can happen to anyone. But a professional has an action plan for such a case.

A specialist who values his reputation always wants to do the best job possible. And a random person is not afraid of scandals or negative reviews on social networks.

Gratitude to the toastmaster

Thanks to the toastmaster for hosting the wedding.
Traditionally, a toastmaster is a respected person at the festive table who makes toasts in honor of the heroes of the occasion and gives the right to say a toast to other guests. The wedding officiant has a much wider range of responsibilities.

He, of course, also gives the floor to the guests to congratulate the newlyweds and make toasts, but besides this, he leads the event, coordinates everything that happens and is responsible for the entertainment program of the banquet. But many people prefer to call the wedding host a toastmaster. Therefore, in the article we call the host of the wedding celebration, among other things, a toastmaster.

At the end of the banquet, the newlyweds are given the floor to express gratitude to everyone who took part in the preparation and organization of the event. You should definitely express your gratitude to the host who conducted your wedding from start to finish.

Prepare a short speech in advance, because at the end of the holiday emotions will overwhelm you. If the newlyweds express gratitude in the form of a toast, inviting the guests to raise their glasses to the host, then they need to drink with him.
