However, the main role in the fate of the future actress was played by His Majesty Chance. Walking one day near the walls of the Soviet Army Theater, little Natasha met the famous actor Mikhail Mayorov, who took her by the hand and took her to an audition for the upcoming play “30 Pieces of Silver.” The artistic director liked the 6-year-old girl, and Natasha received one of the roles in the theater production, in which she subsequently played for three years.
But this happy occasion was not the only one in the fate of the young star. In 1953, at one of the performances, the girl was noticed by the writer Agnia Barto, who subsequently insisted that Natasha Selezneva play in the film adaptation of her book “Alyosha Ptitsyn Develops Character.”

Despite the lack of filming experience, little Natasha did an excellent job with her role and subsequently began to often receive offers from famous Soviet directors. So, in 1956 she starred in the film “The Girl and the Crocodile”, and five years later - in the film “Alenka”. By the time she graduated, the girl had no doubt what she wanted to become in the future. In 1961, she successfully passed the entrance exams to the Shchukin Theater School and became a student in the workshop of Boris Zakhava.
