The future artist was born in Krasnoyarsk on October 16, 1962.
Dmitry received his first basics of musical education at an early age, thanks to his father, who loved song and played the piano. He also had a large collection of records by world opera stars. It was them that little Dima listened to throughout his childhood. From the age of four, his father taught Hvorostovsky to play the keyboard and two years later he entered music school without difficulty. The teachers saw the guy as a successful pianist, but problems arose with singing lessons. After secondary school, Dmitry enters a pedagogical school, where he receives a diploma as a music teacher.
But the teacher’s portfolio was not of interest to the future artist, and he entered the Krasnoyarsk Institute of Arts to study opera vocals. Throughout his training, the aspiring singer was taught by a world-famous teacher, Ekaterina Iofel. As the artist himself admits: “I carried the instructions of this amazing teacher throughout my entire creative career.”
In his final years at the institute, Hvorostovsky performed as an opera singer on the stage of his hometown. She quickly gained popularity in Krasnoyarsk among spectators and directors, who began to invite the young talent to all opera and ballet productions. In 1987, in the city of Baku, Dmitry won the All-Russian vocal competition. And since this year he has been touring the cities of the Soviet Union.
A great success that opened the door to fame was the victory at the “Cardiff Voices” competition.
