Kairat Erdenovich Metov was born on September 19, 1964 (zodiac sign - Virgo) in Karaganda, and then moved with his family to Alma-Ata. His nationality was made up of two nationalities: his mother was from the Moscow region, and his father was a Kazakh with Argyn roots.

However, the main prize for the young musician was non-competitive admission to the Central Music School, which operated at the Moscow State Conservatory. Kai studied there for a couple of years. After receiving a diploma of secondary specialized education in 1982, he went into the army, where he served for two years.
Military service did not encourage creativity, but Metov did not give up music. In the period from 1982 to 1984, the singer was a member and then the leader of the vocal and instrumental ensemble “Molodost”, which was based in their unit.

The artist does not like to talk about his first and so far only official wife, Natalya. It is reliably known that the young people met when Kairat returned from the army. A 21-year-old boy and a friend went into the store where 16-year-old Natalya worked and fell in love with a charming girl.
According to the singer, he made many mistakes in his marriage. At one time, the temperamental man was not only extremely jealous, but also had an exaggerated idea of human relationships. The artist met his second common-law wife and part-time ex-soloist of the group “Love Stories” Olga Filimontseva on tour in Kemerovo. Initially, the eminent singer communicated with Olya’s father, who was a creative person and knew firsthand what music was. It was he who introduced the charismatic composer to his 15-year-old daughter. According to Olga, their romance is a classic example of love at first sight.
