Childhood and youth

Soso was born in the Georgian capital Tbilisi in the family of architect Ramin Iosifovich, a Georgian by nationality, and housewife Aza Alexandrovna. Pavliashvili’s musical biography began in early childhood. And this is no coincidence: under the zodiac sign Cancer, which patronizes the singer, many creative personalities were born.

While still a preschooler, the future singer entered a music school, where he began to master the violin. Hard work and many hours of practice yielded quick results: the boy soon began performing at regional and republican competitions and festivals.

The violin really fascinated Joseph, so after graduating from music and secondary schools, he entered the Tbilisi Conservatory, specifically in the field of violin playing. Pavliashvili did not study classics for long: after the first year he was drafted into the army.

He was assigned to Latvia, in the air force, and soon showed his creative side here too. During his mandatory service, Soso moved away from classical music and joined the stage. Therefore, after receiving a university diploma, the young man got a job in the vocal and instrumental ensemble “Iveria”.

The guy only worked there for a year, because one day Pavliashvili had to put the instrument aside and go to the microphone. This happened in Canada as part of a concert dedicated to the Winter Olympic Games in Calgary. Soso presented to the public his own performance of the famous Georgian song “Suliko”, and this performance literally shocked those present.

Soon Pavliashvili, as a solo artist, received the Grand Prix at the vocal festival in Jurmala and gradually gained more and more popularity. A notable feature of Soso’s repertoire is that the singer writes music for the vast majority of his own hits, occasionally resorting to the services of the most famous Russian and Georgian composers.

The first wife of the famous singer was Nino Uchaneishvili, with whom Soso maintained warm friendly relations even after the divorce. Moreover, these people are united by a common child, son Levan. Pavliashvili’s first-born, by the way, did not follow in his father’s footsteps.

Soso Pavliashvili in his youth
The man’s second love was the pop star Irina Ponarovskaya. They did not enter into a formal agreement, but lived in a de facto marriage for several years. And since 1997, Pavliashvili has lived with singer Irina Patlakh, with whom he has two children - his beloved daughters Elizaveta and Sandra.

Soso met the future mother of his children in the recording studio where Irina came to work. The girl was 16 years old at that time. The age difference (16 years) initially confused the artist; for a long time he did not dare to show feelings for Irina. The platonic romance lasted until the singer came of age, after which a serious relationship began between them.

Soso and Irina lived in a civil union for 17 years, and in 2014, right from the stage where he performed, the singer proposed marriage to his beloved. Patlakh was touched by her husband’s action, but they decided to postpone marriage: both consider going to the registry office a formality. But at the end of 2020, Pavliashvili and Patlakh got married.

Music

The success of Soso Pavliashvili’s hits lies in the fact that the musician is one of the few performers who are able to express strong passion, tenderness, and love through singing from a masculine perspective.

The first studio album, “Music for Friends,” was released in 1993 and immediately attracted the attention of a female audience. The following records “Sing with me” and “Me and You” only strengthened Pavliashvili’s popularity.

Soso has released many full-length albums and collections, each of which contains love lyrics, soulful lyrics and gentle romantic melodies. “To please,” “You and I,” “Let’s pray for our parents,” “I won’t call you by name” became big hits over the years.

The celebrity often performs in duets with other artists. For example, together with Lyubov Uspenskaya Pavliashvili sang the song “Stronger than before”, with Leonid Agutin - the hit “Some Thousand Years”, and together with Larisa Dolina he sang the soulful composition “I Love You”.

In 2015, at the New Wave, Soso Pavliashvili performed “Without You” together with the A-Studio team. Later, the artist’s repertoire was enhanced by the song “Good Evening,” which he presented together with Alexander Buinov. And the man actually fought with Abraham Russo in the TV show “Musical Ring”.

Pavliashvili’s solo hit of 2015 was the song “Don’t Guess at Love,” as well as the music video released for it. In addition, the Georgian singer often goes on stage with his compatriots. The song “Night Without You” recorded with Tamara Gverdtsiteli and the composition “White Veil” with Valery Meladze were loved by fans. Often the guests of the artist’s concerts are his friends. So, together with Stas Mikhailov, Pavliashvili performed a song from his repertoire, “The Sky in the Palm of Your Hand.”

In 2021, Soso wrote a letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, asking the ministry to lift the ban on the singer from performing in the country, which he received back in 2004, when, together with other artists, he gave a concert on the territory of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.

The government condemned the actions of the artists and recognized the performance as a threat to the development of relations between Russia and Azerbaijan. After this, it was decided not to invite the musicians who performed in Nagorno-Karabakh to the country, and also to ban radio and television broadcasts of their performances.

After a letter in which Pavliashvili recognized the value of Azerbaijani culture and expressed respect for the traditions and people of the country, and also noted the famous hospitality of the residents, the musician received permission to perform in the country.

A month after this, Soso Pavliashvili performed in Baku at the Heydar Aliyev Palace. He gave a solo charity concert.

In the summer of 2021, the performer performed in Baku again, this time becoming a participant in the Zhara International Music Festival.

In 2021, Soso presented the composition “My Melody” and began filming a video for this song.

At the same time, the musician’s producer Georgy Gabelaev, who is also the singer’s godson, suffered greatly during a conflict with neighbors. He came to the capital for work and stayed with friends in a communal apartment, where after a conflict the neighbors beat the man with a metal pipe and then shot him.

Movies

Soso Pavliashvili tried his hand at cinema. Moreover, this was not only participation in a cameo format, which happens with other musicians. The man played full-fledged roles in the comedy sitcom “Daddy’s Daughters,” the ironic series “Matchmakers,” and the crime film “Ice Age.”

Most of all, the singer has performed musical holiday tales such as “The Newest Adventures of Pinocchio”, “The Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors”, “The New Adventures of Aladdin” and others. It’s not just his friends who talk about Pavliashvili’s sense of humor. The public was able to verify this during Soso’s performance at the Comedy Club concert in Jurmala, where he shared the stage with Demis Karibidis.

Murder charges

As often happens, joyful days were suddenly darkened by tragic events. In March 2013, Soso's friend, famous businessman Avtandil Aduashvili, was found murdered.

The public was dismayed that the Tbilisi police had issued an official arrest warrant for the singer. Soso Raminovich was the main suspect in the case - it was believed that he could be the mastermind of the murder.
