The final touch: how to choose a bracelet for a wedding

Bracelets for weddings

What can you do with your own hands for a wedding ceremony? People usually remember decorations made of polymer clay for glasses or bottles of champagne, which are placed on the table for newlyweds. And that seems to be all. The rest needs to be purchased at a wedding salon or rented from an agency. There is a lot of interesting things there, but somehow there is no room for creativity. Of course, we are not talking about the fact that if you use only rented and purchased items, all weddings will be similar to each other. But still, there are other opportunities to make the holiday a little more unique and brighter. For example, using bracelets for bridesmaids. In general, such decorations - boutonnieres made from fresh or artificial flowers - are useful not only for weddings. We’ll tell you who else they might be suitable for at the very end of the article. In the meantime, a little more about what these bracelets are needed for, how to make them with your own hands and what materials are needed.

Why do bridesmaids need bracelets?

First of all, it’s beautiful.:) Yes, yes, no jokes now, it’s actually beautiful.
Look here. Just imagine: every guest at a wedding tries to dress as best as possible. This is, in general, an understandable desire. But at the same time, the newlyweds spend money on floristry and restaurant decor (or a site for off-site registration, this is not so important). And here’s the question: will the guests’ outfits match the overall style of the wedding? To be honest, not always.

But it's not as sad as it seems. It will not be possible to change the clothes of all the guests, but this is not required. It is enough for just a few people to be dressed in the desired style. Yes, here I immediately remember bridesmaids from American films: everyone in the same dresses. Beautiful, no doubt. But a little expensive. And if you don’t have the Hollywood budget to sew custom dresses, then here’s the good news: the same effect can be achieved for much less money. It is enough to make a bracelet for each bridesmaid. Yes, it’s so simple, but the wedding looks completely different.

Another plus: the design of the bracelet can be easily adapted to suit any wedding style. The choice of materials and design options is almost unlimited. A bracelet for bridesmaids can be made of satin ribbons, fresh or artificial flowers, beads, chains and pearls. But don’t forget: some options are more labor-intensive, while others can be done with your own hands in one evening.

Thirdly, such a bracelet is difficult to lose or forget somewhere. It's hands-free and looks great in wedding photos. No need to explain, just take a look.

How to make a bracelet for a wedding with your own hands

There are, as already mentioned, a lot of ways.
In general, nothing prevents you from making a classic bracelet made of beads for your bridesmaids (more about such jewelry in this article). But it can take a lot of work and time, depending on the design. So take a look at a simpler and downright versatile wedding bracelet made from satin ribbons and artificial flowers. It’s easy to make with your own hands, even with minimal needlework skills. That's all you need.

Choose a spool of tape of a suitable color. Cut a strip of about 60 cm. Do not forget to melt the edges, otherwise the bridesmaids at the wedding will get tangled in the threads from the unraveling ribbons.

Choose artificial flowers that suit your style. No one forbids the use of living ones, but usually they don’t live to see the restaurant or the end of the wedding walk. However, if you really want originality, you can make flowers yourself. From foamiran, for example. In our store you can buy material in a variety of shades.

When the flowers and ribbons are ready, all that remains is to connect them together and distribute them to your friends. An additional advantage of this bracelet is that it fits any hand. The length of the ribbon allows you to neatly tie it on both wide and narrow wrists.

And now the promised bonus. A story about when bracelets made of satin ribbons and artificial flowers can still come in handy. In general, you probably already guessed it yourself. You don’t have to wait for a wedding; these bracelets look great on any big occasion. From graduation in kindergarten (children from different groups are tied with bracelets with different flowers), to a corporate party with the participation of different departments (unless, of course, you have the most strict company in the world).

Types of Bracelets for Bridesmaids

To appreciate the variety of options, consider photos of bridesmaid bracelets and possible materials for creating them.

One of the most common options is bracelets made from fresh flowers. These bracelets are usually made from the same flowers as the bride's bouquet.

They look impressive and help maintain a unified style of celebration. Putting a bracelet made of fresh flowers on your hand means emphasizing the unity of the bride and her friends.

Bracelets made of polymer clay come in a variety of shapes and colors. But working with polymer clay requires special skills, so if you want to give preference to this material, you should start getting acquainted with it in advance.

Bracelets made of rhinestones and beads will fit perfectly into the wedding theme due to the variety of shades and shapes. They will perfectly complement your girlfriends' outfit. The ability to choose beads of any color will allow you to make bracelets suitable for any wedding theme.

Ribbon bracelets are suitable for many wedding styles. Ribbons are a very affordable and easy-to-work material, so using them is a good solution when creating bracelets for bridesmaids.

An alternative to fresh flowers can be artificial flowers made from a variety of materials: beads, ribbons, fabric, etc. they can be either an exact copy of real flowers or have no natural analogues.

Therefore, the appearance of bracelets is as diverse as your imagination allows.

What does it take to create bridesmaid bracelets?

Making beautiful bracelets for bridesmaids with your own hands is not difficult. In most cases, you will not need special skills or a lot of time for this.

Let's look at several ways to make such bracelets

Bracelet made of beads and ribbons

To make such a bracelet you will need:

  • Satin ribbon about one and a half centimeters wide;
  • Beads;
  • A lighter or other small fire source.

You should start making a bracelet by treating one end of the ribbon with fire. Then we tie a knot in the ribbon and put on the beads, tying knots after each of them.

Having finished stringing the beads, you need to treat the second end of the ribbon with fire. The bracelet is ready. All that remains is to iron the ribbon and tie it on the hand of its new owner.

DIY flower bracelet (first master class)

To make a flower bracelet with your own hands we will need:

  1. Flowers of your choice
  2. Pliers
  3. Wire (one skein thick, one skein thin)
  4. Tape tape
  5. Scissors
  6. Satin ribbon. (1 cm wide)
  7. Thermal gun

Step 1

We cut a thick wire the width of the wrist and use pliers to round its ends, then give the wire a rounded shape for the wrist and wrap the tape with tape. This will be the basis for the bracelet, the bracelet itself.

Step 2

Then, we prepare the flower. Take a thin wire and bend it into a loop so that you can pass it through the bud to the center of the stem.

Step 3

Leave about 7 cm of wire at the bud, cut off the rest, and twist the wire. Wrap the wire with tape.

Step 4

The flower is ready. If we use several flowers, twist their stems and wires together. Now let’s connect it to the base: holding the bud with one hand, and forcefully rotating it around the base of the bracelet with the other hand.

Step 5

Now we decorate the base of the bracelet with a satin ribbon, wrapping it around the bracelet. Where required, you can drip hot glue.

We enjoy the result!
