The scandalous statements of the actor, who knows a lot about the underbelly of show business, cause a strong reaction - many condemn the actor for his harshness and shamelessness towards his colleagues. But Sadalsky has always been distinguished by courage and a principled civic position, so he does not hesitate to voice his point of view, even if it runs counter to the opinion of the majority.

Sadalsky at the center of scandals

Because of some of his actions, the artist is called nothing less than the “king of scandal,” after which he becomes the main character on the pages of many magazines and newspapers. The actor repeatedly told reporters about the relationship of his colleagues with their children, which caused a lot of dissatisfaction, both among the stars and among the artist’s fans.

Stanislav Sadalsky during an interview

Most recently, Sadalsky, in an interview with journalist Dmitry Gordon expressed his opinion about the activities of Patriarch Kirill ; he explained his harsh assessment by the fact that Kirill is a disgusting person who promises a lot, but does not bring anything to life.

In 2015, he criticized the behavior of the relatives of the deceased singer Zhanna Friske, with whom Stanislav had friendly relations during his lifetime.

In 2021, the actor publicly expressed his opinion about the financial difficulties of his girlfriend Anastasia Zavorotnyuk; he openly discussed her debts to the bank.

Stanislav can not only criticize, but also morally support his close friends, so he supported the mother of the famous opera singer and former deputy Lyudmila Maksakova, calling the actress’s communication with media representatives quite witty.

Childhood and adolescence

Stanislav was born in the small Tatar village of Chkalovskoye (now Shygyrdan), then located on the territory of the Chuvash Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. His parents, Yuri Aleksandrovich Sadalsky and Nina Vasilyevna Prokopenko, teachers by profession, were assigned there after graduating from university. My father taught physical education, my mother was a geographer, and later, when the family moved to Kanash, she headed the local city education department.

Stanislav’s childhood can hardly be called happy - his father was a cruel and authoritarian man, often raising his hand against his wife and sons (Sadalsky had a younger brother, Sergei, who died at the age of 33 under tragic circumstances). The boys were left without a mother early - Nina Vasilievna died when Stas turned twelve. He doesn’t like to talk about this topic, but from some of his interviews one can understand that the cause of the woman’s premature death was the consequences of beatings from an aggressive husband.

Having buried his wife, Sadalsky Sr. placed his sons in Voronezh boarding school No. 2 and practically did not communicate with them anymore. They also did not receive any financial assistance from their father and were completely supported by the state. My hero. Stanislav Sadalsky Stas stood out among his peers from early childhood - he loved to make faces and fool around, and also had a funny lisp due to an incorrect bite. He hated school subjects and studied poorly, but he read fiction avidly. He always dreamed of becoming an actor; in boarding school he attended the Orlyonok theater studio. The first role was Signor Tomato in the play “Cipollino”, in which Stas looked very colorful.

After graduating from boarding school, Sadalsky went to Moscow to enter the theater institute. But due to a speech impediment, the young man was not accepted into any of the capital’s universities, and he decided to try his luck in Yaroslavl, which was famous for its theater school. There he also failed, and the guy had no choice but to get a job as a turner’s apprentice at a local engine plant. Very soon he became a leader in production, but not because of any special craving for physical labor, but simply out of a desire to earn good money and dress fashionably.

Stas liked to spend time in noisy and cheerful youth companies, where he gave free rein to his artistic abilities. At one of these parties, he learned the story of actress Alisa Freindlich - she also had an overbite. And then Sadalsky went to Leningrad, ambushed the actress after the performance and, plucking up courage, shared his story. Freundlich advised Sadalsky to go to Moscow again and try to apply again, and if it didn’t work out, she promised to help in this matter.

Stas did just that, and in 1969 he again submitted documents to GITIS. This time he was lucky - the course was taken by People's Artist of the RSFSR Grigory Grigorievich Konsky, who also had a speech impediment. He stood up for Sadalsky before the admissions committee and insisted that the guy be accepted. So the young man became a student at one of the best acting universities in the country, for which he is immensely grateful to his teacher. After Konsky’s death, Sadalsky, with his own money, erected a monument on the grave of the master who gave him a start in the world of art.

Film roles

Konsky loved Sadalsky very much and even let him go on filming, although this was usually not welcomed in theater universities. Already in his second year, Stanislav made his debut in the military drama “City of First Love” (1970), where he played the young defender of Stalingrad, Vladik Sergeev.

This work was followed by a cameo role as a groom in Rolan Bykov’s tragicomedy “Telegram” (1971). In the same year, Stanislav appeared in the cult comedy by Leonid Gaidai “12 Chairs”, where he played a fireman at the Columbus Theater.

But the real gift of fate was his participation in the filming of the legendary Soviet film “The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed” (1979), where Stas appeared in the image of a pickpocket Brick. This role became Sadalsky’s calling card and his calling card for a long time. After the triumphant release of the picture on the screen, wherever he appeared, he was followed by: “Koselyok - Koselek.” This annoyed Stas incredibly, but that was the price of popularity.

Director Stanislav Govorukhin invited Sadalsky to audition after seeing him on the stage of the Sovremennik Theater. Borislav Brondukov auditioned for the same role, but Stas, thanks to his lisp, seemed more charismatic to Govorukhin. But Sadalsky himself dreamed of playing Sharapov, which he directly stated to Govorukhin. He just smiled into his famous mustache and, without much ceremony, noted that the role of Sharapov requires “an actor with the appearance of a Komsomol member, not a moron.” Stas was no stranger to such attacks, so he was not offended. Moreover, on the set he was lucky enough to meet Vladimir Vysotsky, who shocked him with the power of his talent.

Another striking work of Sadalsky was the role of the brave cornet Alexei Pletnev in Eldar Ryazanov’s comedy “Say a word for the poor hussar.” It’s interesting that the director had never seen Stas in the role of Brick before, otherwise (according to Ryazanov himself) he would never have taken him into the film. But these are all jokes - in fact, Sadalsky coped well with his role and became one of the most charismatic characters in the film.

This is not the only film in which Stanislav played a representative of the noble class. In the film adaptation of the play of the same name by A.N. Ostrovsky's "The Forest" he got the role of high school student Alexis Bulanov, which he coped with brilliantly. True, in order to get to the audition, he had to connect personal connections, since director Vladimir Motyl did not immediately discern a deep character actor in the lisping guy with an unprepossessing appearance.

During the work, it turned out that Sadalsky was a real find, Sadalsky looked so harmoniously in a duet with the great Lyudmila Tselikovskaya, who played Raisa Pavlovna Gurmyzhskaya. The only pity is that this picture lay on the shelf for six years, since, according to film functionaries, the images of the main characters were too reminiscent of representatives of the ruling party elite.

And Sadalsky’s favorite film was the comedy “Whom God Will Will” (1994), where he played the role of Professor Khlyuzdin, who in his youth worked as a sperm donor. Many years later, his biological son turned out to be among the students, a meeting with whom entailed a whole series of curious situations. The script was written specially for Sadalsky, and his partner was the charming Larisa Udovichenko. True, in real life the actors do not like each other, but this does not prevent Stas from appreciating Larisa for her undoubted talent. Sadalsky about Udovichenko It is worth especially noting Sadalsky’s participation in the filming of the magazine “Yeralash”, in which he appeared with enviable regularity. Sadalsky starred in nine episodes, which was a record among guest stars. The actor can rightly be called a co-author of the famous film magazine - he invented many roles for himself.

Stanislav also took part in dubbing cartoons, the most famous of which is “Last Year’s Snow Was Falling.” True, his name was not in the credits for a long time, because before the release of the cartoon on screens, the actor was detained in the currency bar of the Cosmos Hotel with a foreign citizen who turned out to be his relative. But director Alexander Tatarsky still found an opportunity to celebrate Sadalsky’s work, thanking him “for providing his voice.”

Work in the theater

Compared to a successful cinematic career, the theatrical career did not go entirely smoothly at first.
Although already in his fourth year he was invited to join the Mayakovsky Theater troupe by Goncharov himself, Sadalsky stayed there for exactly one day. The artistic director was known for his formidable temper, which many actors experienced. The young man was not ready for such a turn of events, and responded to the director’s elevated tone in kind, for which he was immediately fired. Stanislav Sadalsky. Visiting Dmitry Gordon A few years later, Sadalsky came to a performance of Mayakovsky's theater as a spectator and was again humiliated by Goncharov. Since then, he has never crossed the threshold of the Mayakovsky Theater again, although his offender has long been dead. Then Galina Volchek invited Sadalsky to Sovremennik. He worked in this theater for eight years and during this time he played three main roles: the Woodcutter in the fairy tale “The Princess and the Woodcutter”, Faryatiev in “Faryatiev’s Fantasies” and Nervous in “In the Morning They Woke Up”.

Realizing that he couldn’t count on more, Sadalsky left the theater, making a choice in favor of cinema. And with the advent of the enterprise, he returned to the stage again, this time as a free artist who has the opportunity to independently choose his own roles. For a long time, Tatyana Vasilyeva was his constant partner, but due to Sadalsky’s scandalous nature, their relationship deteriorated, and now they have only one joint performance left.

Sadalsky’s classmate and partner in the play “Family Comedy - Love Tragedy” said that Stanislav has a narcotic effect on women. “My mother is 87 years old. She and Stas are close friends. Sadalsky prolongs her life with his daily calls. Mom whines: “I’m already old and sick!” Stas replies: “Princess, I can’t stand sick people! Tell me when the funeral is, I’ll come with flowers.” Mom immediately changes her mood: no, no, everything is fine, just call.”

According to Olga, her mother tries every day to find out which of the many women Sadalsky loves more and whom he will eventually marry. “And he takes it and starts an intrigue: “Vasilyeva and I love each other!” “Olechka,” says my mother, “Sadalsky is going to marry Vasilyeva, mark my words!” Bogdanova’s mother has long dreamed that her daughter would become his wife. The actress remembers the young and slender Stanislav and even regrets a little that at one time she did not answer “Yes!” to his marriage proposal: “We were young, Stas, a thin, slender boy, had just starred in “The Poor Hussar” and proposed to me. At that moment I had other hobbies. It's a pity...On the other hand, living with him in everyday life - God forbid! He is always at his peak, he has a volcano and fireworks at home. But you can’t do it all the time..."

Stas grabbed Zhanna and put her in a limousine, and ordered the driver to go to the center.
