Nikolai was born in Taganrog, into a poor family. Dad worked as a policeman, and mother worked in trade. While still a schoolboy, the boy began to bring money to the family, working part-time as a loader and making potato sacks.
Nikolai's elder brother Alexander went to the capital after graduating from school, where he successfully entered the conservatory. Soon Nikolai himself followed his relative to Moscow. But he failed to enter the theater institute: during the entrance exams, the commission members were confused by the applicant’s southern dialect, so they refused to enroll him in the university.
But Nikolai did not despair. He returned to his hometown, entered the local theater school and at the same time began to work on his speech in order to get rid of the “shock” and “gek”. Exactly a year later he went to Moscow again. This time, luck smiled on Nikolai: he entered GITIS.
First marriage
As a student, Dobrynin met a girl named Oksana. She was from a wealthy family: her father was a famous radio host and journalist Andrei Barshev. The lovers quickly got married, Nikolai moved into his wife’s apartment. The housing was located not far from the Novodevichy Convent.

It is clear that the marriage was unequal: he is an ordinary guy from Taganrog, she is a metropolitan creature. One day, Oksana’s father asked his son-in-law if he loved his daughter, and when he heard an affirmative answer, he said: “If you love him, then provide for it yourself.”
After this, Dobrynin had to get a job in the metro. During the day he attended college, and in the evening and at night he earned money. I had to sleep a couple of hours a day. The aspiring artist lived with such a busy schedule for four years.
After graduating from the institute, Nikolai joined the troupe of the Satyricon theater. The actor and the fan never parted again. Their life together began in 1998, and four years later Nikolai proposed to his chosen one. Although there have been serious quarrels between the lovers over the years of marriage, Nikolai Dobrynin’s family is still very strong and friendly. The romance was stormy and passionate. As Anna Terekhova herself later admitted, both of them could not think about anything then. Then Nikolai Dobrynin divorced his first wife and became the husband of Anna Terekhova. He adopted her two-year-old son Misha, whom the actress gave birth to from her colleague Valery Borovinsky.

Misha always considered Nikolai Dobrynin his father, and then his parents told the boy that he had another dad. Mikhail was ten years old at that time, and he stoically endured the blow. After his divorce from Anna, the actor’s life went downhill. He was left homeless and virtually without work. Film directors stopped inviting Dobrynin to film, and the situation in the theater was also very tense. The girl was a theatergoer and for four years she did not miss a single performance with the participation of an actor. Nikolai fell into her soul so much that she decided to get to know him. Catherine was helped in this by her sister, who served in the same theater: she invited her relative to a banquet.
True, the first meeting with Dobrynin turned out to be a failure. Nikolai drank heavily and asked to spend the night. Catherine could not refuse. The actor, barely reaching the apartment, immediately fell asleep on the floor, and disappeared in the morning.
But Catherine did not give up: she reminded herself of herself a couple of months later, when she called the actor. The girl began to surround Nikolai with care and attention and returned him to normal life. He looked after his mother and took care of his adopted son (Misha often visited his stepfather while his mother was on tour). Now the actor admits that it was only thanks to Komissarova that he was born into the world for the second time.
The lovers legalized their relationship, but for a long time they were unable to have a child. The long-awaited event occurred when Nikolai turned forty-five years old: the couple had a daughter, Nina.

The biography of Nikolai Dobrynin is filled with paradoxes, which also applies to the actor’s personal life. The first time he married not for love, but for a bet, at a very young age, was to his classmate, the daughter of diplomat Andrei Barshev, Ksenia Larina. In order to support his family on his own, the proud student had to work part-time as a drainage worker in the subway. However, this marriage lasted only five years.
Dobrynin’s second chosen one was Anna Terekhova, daughter of Milady Margarita Terekhova. This union was truly for love, but, unfortunately, it also broke up. The couple had no children together, but Nikolai Dobrynin adopted Anna’s son from her first marriage and considers him his own. Until the age of sixteen, the father took care of and raised Misha, and did not even meet his ex-wife. Misha did not follow in the footsteps of his parents; he chose the profession of a psychologist.
For the third time, the already mature artist Nikolai Dobrynin married flight attendant Ekaterina Komisarova in 2002. A fan of the actor attended all of his performances, and a fateful meeting took place on the field of one of which. The couple began to live and work together, Ekaterina got a job as an assistant director at the Roman Viktyuk Theater. Six years later, the Dobrynins had a daughter, Nina. The family settled in St. Petersburg, but for convenience they have an apartment in Moscow. Ekaterina is raising her daughter, and Nikolai is torn between filming and the theater.
