He runs the author's blog ponkrat.ru. Publishes videos, texts, photographs of places he has visited.[3] Many entries contain reader opinion polls: more than 1.2 thousand polls have been conducted. In other categories of materials (programs, music, texts, photographs), there are much fewer entries (no more than 100 in each entry).

Born in the village of Bitsa, Moscow region on October 22, 1969. He graduated from Solntsevo secondary school No. 6 (now Moscow No. 1003). In the summer of 1990, after serving in the army, he entered the international department of the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University. Graduated in 1995. While still at the university, classmates brought Andrei Ponkratov to the team of teleworkers, which was headed by Dmitry Zakharov (now the host of the “Their Morals” program). Worked on the project “Stylish” and “Stylish Things” on STS and TV-6. In recent years he has worked in a group. Since 2009 - author and presenter of programs on the My Planet TV channel.
I love New York because it is a very positive city with good energy. He is the same as in the movies. And people there, as if from a movie, walk around as extras. It’s easy and convenient to live in – if you have the money! I really liked the night voodoo ceremonies in the north of Benin. There are mega-cool places in the Philippines: the beaches of the islands of Boracay and Panay, the capital Manila is good, it’s delicious, cheap and there are a lot of holidays. The Seychelles, Mauritius, and French Polynesia are magnificent. It’s impossible to forget Madagascar - it’s absolutely something... Especially the island of Nosy-Boraha. There are very beautiful women in Madagascar, only Russians are more beautiful. I dream of visiting Niger and Nigeria, because this is the real Africa. I want to go to Chad, because the salary of our ambassador in this country is the highest among ambassadors’ salaries, even higher than that of our ambassador to the USA. I want to go to Mauritania because there are a lot of shells and colors there. I want to go to Equatorial Guinea because a real African dictator rules there and because it is a former Spanish colony in Africa. I want to go to Gabon - the name is strange. I want to go to the Central African Republic because they were ruled by a cannibal president. I want to go to Angola because it is African Brazil. I really want to go to the Congo, because everyone wants to go to the Congo and because it is unthinkable not to want to visit the Congo. I want to go to Tanzania because Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar beckon and because I have already written five scripts about this country. I want to go to Brazil because it is dangerous and beautiful there. I want to go to Argentina because it’s delicious, fun and tango. I want to go to Bolivia, because the first Incas came from there. I want to go to Paraguay for the same reason I want to go to Gabon. I want to go to Colombia because there is a permanent revolution with cocaine there. I want to go to Venezuela because there are no ugly women there. I want to go to Nicaragua - Daniel Ortega, excellent cigars and Flower of Reed rum are very attractive to me. I want to go to Honduras for the same reason I want to go to Paraguay and Gabon. I want to go to Pakistan because it is a country on the edge and everyone there wears long shirts and white pants. I want to go to Papua New Guinea because I am a Papuan myself. I want to go to India, because there is only one place, but there are many people. I want to go to Tibet. Send to Tibet - the chakras and the third eye open there.
Case in Kuwait
If somewhere there was something unpleasant during my trips, then the bad thing is forgotten or over time you consider the disappointment as another adventure, another experience. There was an incident - now you remember it with a smile, but then it was a serious matter. We arrived in Kuwait. Usually we start collecting material immediately, from the plane into battle, without any acclimatization. And then we arrived - and nothing. We are sitting in a hotel. The hotel turned out to be good. Everything is included except alcohol. It simply doesn't exist. And what I had with me was taken away at the airport - it’s impossible. We sit in the hotel for a day, the second, the third - nothing. There is no permission to film, you can’t do it without it, they’ll tie you to the East. On the fourth day, it turns out that permission to shoot has not yet been received, and it is unknown when they will be received. The guide was a woman. I had to explain that normal people don’t work like that: they invite you to make several films, but they keep you in a hotel. I even scolded her in English, a little. The lady informed the ministry that I was dirty... I didn’t harass her, I called her names. They summoned me to the ministry and threatened me with prison (they can imprison you for insulting the fairer sex) and deportation. But they weren’t imprisoned or deported, but everything immediately moved forward. The bureaucratic machine creaked its gears and started working. We managed to remove everything we needed. This unpleasant incident was more than offset by a very pleasant acquaintance with Russian-speaking guys from North Ossetia. They worked in Kuwait as instructors for the mounted police, and at the same time gave riding lessons to civilians. Dear people, we still keep in touch. And another terribly terrible incident occurred in Bangladesh. But I can’t talk about him, otherwise they’ll get involved or the Bangladeshi special services will come...
