Wedding in a Czech castle. 10 best castles in the Czech Republic for a wedding

Old Town Hall (Staromestska radnice)

The symbol of the city, located in its heart, is one of the most popular places for weddings. The Old Town Hall building houses a museum and hosts exhibitions and marriage ceremonies. Weddings are held in a beautiful Gothic hall that has been in operation for 150 years! After the ceremony, don’t forget to take a photo in front of the famous astronomical clock of the town hall – the pictures will be impressive.

pros

  • Old Town Center
  • Historically significant and beautiful place

Minuses

There are a large number of people wishing to register a marriage, so you will not be alone. In addition, due to the popularity of the location, very little time was allocated for the ceremony.

Wedding invitations

It’s worth making invitations 3-6 months in advance (Czech: Svatební oznámení

). At first, everything was so sad with the search for a company that we almost refused the invitations. Suddenly, Epsilon appeared on the horizon, with interesting designs and reasonable prices.

The design has been chosen, but here the problem begins: Czech companies don’t work with the Cyrillic alphabet! They simply don't have Cyrillic fonts. In the end, I found the Cyrillic fonts myself: I chose Good Vibes Pro for the headings, Arsenal for the main text.

As I already mentioned, we had a Czech-Russian mix in organizing the wedding. This was reflected even in the invitations. In the Czech Republic, it is customary to print one invitation for all guests, without indicating the guest’s name in it. But we decided to write everyone’s name, so the price rose sharply. Plus, we had guests aged from 1 to 68 years old, so we were racking our brains over a unified system of address in invitations. As a result, we came up with something brilliant:

  • up to 14 years old - a simple form of the name (Katya, Masha, Dima);
  • 14-35 years old - full form of the name (Ekaterina, Marya, Dmitry);
  • over 35 years old - first and patronymic (Ekaterina Ivanovna, Marya Olegovna, Dmitry Petrovich).

At the same time, a one-page website with information about the wedding was developed; a link to it was indicated in the invitation. I highly recommend creating a website so that guests know all the basic information about the day’s program, opportunities at the venue and, for example, do not manage to bring a set as a gift to the wedding.

I carefully packed the invitations in cardboard envelopes and sent them to Russia by regular mail. I decided to take care of my relatives so that they would not have to go to the post office to pick up letters. The catch crept up “unexpectedly”: even after 3 months, not all invitations were delivered by Russian Post, some are still wandering in the wombs of Russian Post. Never use regular letters towards Russia.

We also ordered a wedding book from Epsilon, names on the table (Czech: Jménovky

) in the same design. Taking into account the alteration of invitations due to the wrong font we chose, this cost item amounted to CZK 6,357.

Libensky castle

Most Czech castles are located outside the city - this made it easier to strengthen the structure and make it safer. Libeni Castle is a happy exception for newlyweds; it is located in the very center of Prague.

pros

  • City center - no need to organize transfers for guests and look for hotels
  • Fewer people want to celebrate a wedding than at the Old Town Hall
  • There is a park next to the castle where you can have a photo shoot

Minuses

Although there are fewer people willing than in the town hall, there are still a lot of people.

Photo corner and wedding book

During the wedding preparations, someone came up with the idea of using Polaroid cameras at the wedding, so that for entertainment guests could paste their snapshots into a wedding book (Czech: Svatební kniha

) and write wishes. We looked for a Polaroid for a long time, but there were few cameras, the prices for cartridges were very high (68 CZK per photo).

As a result, we accidentally stumbled upon a modern alternative in the form of the Fujifilm Instax product line. Their photographs are smaller, but they are convenient to paste into a book and cost 4 times less. And most importantly, in addition to cameras, Fujifilm produces the Instax SP-2 printer for these cartridges. Install a special application on your phone, connect via Wi-Fi and print pictures directly from your phone! There is no printer in the main Fotoškoda rental line, but for 14% of the price they rented me a new printer.

You can rent a regular Instax Mini 70 camera from Fotoškoda or other stores for one weekend for free, as long as you buy the cartridges.

I took a total of 100 photographs, having agreed in advance to return the unused ones - I returned 25 of them without any problems. Moreover, one cartridge deteriorated due to a printer failure, and its cost was also reimbursed.

We laid out the photo book, camera, printer and props on the terrace along with self-made instructions in an Ikea frame. A witness lived nearby and helped people take photographs; everyone really liked the idea. People took photographs for themselves and pasted them into a book. By the way, I recommend special Henzo stickers for gluing. If anyone needs it, write, I’ll give it to you for a symbolic amount, I have almost a whole box left.

Vrtbovska zahrada garden

The charming baroque garden, hidden behind high gates, is a good place for a wedding photo shoot. The garden is a UNESCO heritage site and is famous for its abundance of flowers and greenery, grottoes and sculptures. In addition, the upper terrace offers stunning views of the city.

pros

A suitable place for a beautiful photo shoot

Minuses

  • Only a walk and registration can be held in the garden, and the banquet will have to be organized in another place
  • There are a lot of couples, sometimes you have to stand in line to take a photo. You can consider less popular places - the Royal Garden and Petrin Hill

How to organize a wedding in Prague: tips and advice from experts

It is also worth noting the special atmosphere of the city, which in many ways distinguishes the city from other European capitals. Videographers from
Lovely Day Films
, whose film
about a wedding for two in Prague
we recently published, recall: “Prague is an amazing city!
This is the place where you feel at home on every street. Cozy, bright, breathing history .
Filming of Kirill and Dasha's wedding walk took place in the historical center of the city . Narrow streets near the Charles Bridge, Vrtbovsky Garden hidden from prying eyes, the surroundings of St. Vitus Cathedral, from the observation deck of which a beautiful view of the city opens. The day flew by in a flash and we enjoyed every second spent in the spring blooms of Prague.”

The videographers also shared with us another work from Prague - this time from a large wedding with guests, which took place in a picturesque suburb of the Czech capital.

Features of the organization

We are sure that after the first section of the article, many of you have already looked at a couple of photos from Prague and got excited about the idea of spending your special day there.

Now let's move on to the most important thing - how to properly organize a celebration

in the Czech capital?
Ksenia Godunova ( Be Happy agency
) gives universal recommendations.

“For all European weddings, we give the same recommendations on preparation time - from 6 months

. For hot countries with pronounced seasonality, these periods are even shorter (it’s best if you have at least a year in reserve). However, in our practice there were also weddings organized in 1.5 months, during which we managed to go to the site inspection and prepare a three-day celebration.

In the Czech Republic, and in particular in Prague, seasonality is not so pronounced

, both autumn and spring weddings, and even winter ones, will look charming.

The choice of time of day and location - in the city or in the countryside - very much depends on the format

. A wedding format for two (or with the closest 4-6 friends) can take place in the city center, since the main thing of such a wedding is a photo walk and beautiful city landscapes.

We specialize in turnkey weddings, so for the wedding day itself we most often give preference to country locations where privacy is possible, where there is some kind of history and atmosphere

. And we leave the big city with its tourist infrastructure for the second day.

When planning any European wedding, we will definitely organize one or two more days with a joint excursion program and interesting joint dinners, master classes and adventures

. Such time spent together remains in the memory of not only the newlyweds, but also their guests for a long time.”

Tatiana Malysheva

adds that
4-6 months
you should start looking for
a venue
for the celebration,
a photographer and a stylist
.
Contact the appropriate structure if you are planning a registration at the Old Town Hall, a wedding in one of the cathedrals, an outdoor ceremony in the Vrtba Garden or in a castle outside of Prague. The same rule applies if you want to sit that day in a specific restaurant on the banks of the Vltava with a view of the Charles Bridge, or with a view of the whole of Prague in one of the best pavilions in the Letensky Gardens. Therefore, if you start preparing shortly before the desired date, you may simply not get a place at the Old Town Hall
(this is
not only beautiful, but also the most budget option
for registration), at the chosen venue, or book your favorite photographer.

Speaking of the town hall and contractors, it’s time to understand how the market and bureaucracy work

in Prague.

Tatiana

says: “
The Town Hall
- essentially a registry office - in Prague 1 (district) has restrictions on opening hours and the number of guests received.
Only in an ancient building in the heart of Prague and without the phrase “today you are creating a new unit of society.” In order to submit documents and choose a
wedding date, you will have to
come to the Czech Republic
, having previously contacted the registry office, found out a free date and prepared documents in Russia.
During this visit, you can not only submit documents, but also choose a place for the wedding dinner, meet the photographer personally, and see the places where you would like to take a walk. On the eve of the wedding,
you need to arrive in advance to register with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Czech Republic, and it works on certain days, and take your documents to the registry office for verification. But you will be officially registered in the Czech Republic, and not fictitiously. Although the opposite is also quite popular - to register a marriage in Russia and do a symbolic exit registration in Europe.”

Oksana Kurtova shares an interesting fact

: “At the wedding ceremony
there is a court interpreter
who will not only translate all the ceremonial speeches, but also draw up all the relevant documents.
According to local laws, if you do not speak Czech, then a translator is a mandatory person in the marriage process, otherwise the wedding will be invalid
.”

Now let's talk about contractors. Of course, it is best to look for a photographer living in Prague

- this way you won’t have to pay additional travel and accommodation costs. At the same time, rest assured that people from Russia are often head and shoulders above their colleagues in terms of the quality of work. The same applies to stylists: the best ones also come from Russia. That is why it is best to look for these two specialists first!

Tatiana Malysheva

: “This season, clients from all countries are booking artists
6-8 months in advance
. It happens that they ask for a couple of countries at once - including for a trip to Germany and Austria, neighboring the Czech Republic. After all, it is located in the center of Europe and from here you can immediately “start” on your honeymoon, for example, to Italy – even by car.”

Location

As we noted above, the choice of location greatly depends on the format of the holiday. If you are planning a full-scale celebration with many guests, then take a closer look at country venues.

In addition to the Old Town Hall, there are many places in Prague

where you can hold the ceremony: Vrtba Garden, Lobkowice Palace of Prague Castle, Municipal Palace, Clementinum, Nusel Town Hall, New Town Hall, Havana Pavilion, Cathedral of Saints Cyril and Methodius... Whatever place you choose, it will undoubtedly be beautiful, and the ceremony will be remembered all life.

Oksana Kurtova

says that Prague and the surrounding area of the Czech Republic are famous for their incredible locations.
The most popular place located in Prague itself is the Town Hall, which we have already mentioned more than once. But the surrounding area is replete with small but very beautiful chapels, where both official and unofficial ceremonies are held
. For newlyweds who want to experience real luxury in Europe, palaces and castles are available for rent, but there is a highlight here. Such a place must be booked 6-8 months in advance, just like the priest-registrar. “By the way, we can recommend no more than 5 priests who really conduct the ceremony at the right level - an invaluable resource!”

Photoshoot

The wedding day is distinguished by clear regulations and traditions, notes photographer Anton Yulikov

. And to give free rein to creativity and spontaneity in the most incredible places in the world, shooting before the wedding “pre-wedding” or after the day of celebration on a honeymoon will help.

If you are planning a shoot like this, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. Wedding the image will be lost without a bouquet

! Take care of the flowers in advance and arrange with a local florist. If your shoot is at dawn, prepare the bouquet in the evening.

  2. It is equally important to find good stylist and makeup artist

. You can contact your photographer for a contact, because it is in his interests to create the ideal image for you.

  3. Plan your shoot at the right time of day

. In any hot places in Europe or Asia, only sunrises and sunsets are suitable for photography. Organize your preparations carefully to be in time for the first rays of sun!

  4. Don't take unnecessary things to the shoot

. If you are not transported by car or the photo shoot takes place in Venice, where this is impossible in principle, additional bags will have to be carried by an assistant, who already has a lot of work.

Useful tips

The main difficulties that you may encounter when organizing a wedding in Prague await you in working with English-speaking contractors and authorities, says Oksana Kurtova

.
“The organization process is significantly different from planning a wedding in Russia. The overlap of culture and bureaucratic patterns creates considerable problems for those who decide to organize a wedding on their own. In addition to collecting packages of documents, their copies and notarized powers of attorney, there is a different algorithm of actions with each authority
. Experience shows that without proper communication skills and cultural understanding, submitting documents can take an indecently long time.

There is also a fine line of communication with representatives of locations. The organizer can find out many important details in their native language and resolve hundreds of nuances, while letters from clients can sometimes remain without due attention. Different cultures and languages

– this, whatever one may say, is the main barrier to resolving sometimes very important issues.”
Oksana also advises developing a wedding concept and sketches in Russia, and then coordinating them with the capabilities of local decorators. It turns out to be such a creative collaboration. This allows you to create a unique project and optimize your budget .
But it is better to choose photographers and videographers in Russia, but be sure to have experience working in the Czech Republic. For example, you can contact photographer Ksenia Vereshchak , who works in Russia and abroad, including the Czech Republic - for example, on those Lovely Day Films projects that we talked about. If you are looking for a photographer who does not just state the fact of the wedding, but lives this day with all his soul with you and who is on the same wavelength with you. If you value natural, not forced smiles, lively emotional pictures that will reflect your day sincerely, then Ksenia is your photographer!

So, the main advice is to contact professionals who can organize your celebration the way you have always dreamed of!

Castle Chateau Baroque

One of the most beautiful castles in the Czech Republic is located very close to Prague and is an official architectural monument. Ten years ago, Chateau Baroque was completely restored, making it a convenient wedding venue while maintaining its medieval atmosphere. There is a large park around the castle, and for guests there is a 4-star hotel, a restaurant, a spa center and a wine library.

pros

  • No crowds of brides and grooms
  • In the castle you can organize a wedding from start to finish: accommodation with guests in the hotel, holding a ceremony, banquet and photo shoot

Wedding in an ancient castle in the Czech Republic: which one to choose?

If you're impressed by castle weddings in Europe, you should definitely come to the Czech Republic and have your ceremony in one of its castles. The site for young people Svadbaholik.ru will recommend you several chic places where you can exchange rings.

3 popular castles for weddings in the Czech Republic:

  • Castle in Liblitz "Chateau Baroque". If you dream of organizing a wedding in the Czech Republic, you can hold it in the castle in Liblice, which is located 40 kilometers from the capital. For a wedding ceremony, the castle has a luxurious marble hall where you can feel like a real princess. Near the castle there is a picturesque terrace and park with green lawns, flowering flower beds and amazing sculptures. The cost of a wedding package starts from 1,300 euros.
  • Wedding at Chateau Baroque

  • Karlštejn Castle. One of the most famous castles for organizing a wedding abroad is the Czech Karlštejn Castle, which is an ensemble of artistic, cultural and historical monuments. The castle is literally surrounded by greenery, and its ancient architecture enchants and fascinates with its beauty. The cost of a wedding package starts from 1,350 euros.
  • Wedding in the beautiful Karlštejn Castle

  • Hluboka Castle. One of the most luxurious castles in the Czech Republic attracts newlyweds from all over the world due to its luxury and beauty. The architectural structure is located on a rock and is one of the most visited castles by tourists. Next to it there is a beautiful English park where newlyweds can take a walk with a photographer. The cost of a wedding package starts from 1,550 euros.

Royal wedding at Hluboka Castle

Zbiroh Castle

Zbiroh is a medieval castle of the 13th century and incredible beauty. If you've ever imagined a castle from a fairy tale, this was probably it. It’s not for nothing that the place received the Wedding Place of the Year award twice – the castle hosts truly fabulous celebrations. They offer luxury service and everything you need for a decent wedding in Prague - a 4-star hotel, a restaurant, a chapel for the ceremony and organ music.

pros

  • You can have your wedding here from start to finish.
  • High service
  • A very beautiful place

Guest accommodation

Among the guests were elderly people and parents of small children. It would have been difficult for them to spend the whole day on their feet, and it seemed crazy to me to drive back to Prague late in the evening. Therefore, we made accommodation for us and all the guests right in the villa. Everyone arrived at 11-12 o'clock in the afternoon, calmly checked in, recovered and by 13 went to the ceremony in the garden in front of the villa.

During the day, guests could leave to change the children's clothes, relax, etc. This is incredibly convenient for everyone, no one gets tired and feels confident. Our number of guests almost exactly coincided with the number of rooms in Rezidence Liběchov - we occupied the entire villa. Actually, for a day the villa was completely at our disposal. The morning after the wedding, we all had breakfast there in the villa and, feeling refreshed, set out for Prague.

There were only a couple of people we couldn't invite to the wedding. Unfortunately, there was no more decent housing in the surrounding area. The cost of settling guests amounted to CZK 30,000.

Konopiste Castle

The Gothic Konopiste Castle is an example of a real medieval palace. There are towers, protective ramparts, and a huge park of 200 hectares. In the park you will find not only a rose garden with unique varieties of roses, but also majestic peacocks. The castle is famous for the love story associated with it. Its owner was the heir to the Austrian throne, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, who bought this place to retire to it with his beloved. The girl was not of royal blood, so Franz had to renounce his rights to succession to the throne for himself and his heirs in order to marry her.

pros

  • Beautiful castle and garden
  • You can hold a ceremony, banquet and photo session

Minuses

There is no hotel at the castle, but there is one outside the garden surrounding the building

Host and music

Never, remember, never skimp on the presenter! It's better to have pasta with balls from Ikea at a wedding, but get a good host. It creates the atmosphere of the second half of the day, preventing this important and literally expensive day from passing by dullly. You'll fork out almost 40,000 CZK, but it's definitely worth it.

Relatives from Russia came to us, they don’t know Czech, so we were looking for a strictly Russian-speaking presenter. There are literally 3-5 of them in Central Europe, but at the same time friends preparing their wedding found Konstantin Novikov. You may know about the Mad Head games - he also hosts them. By the way, on October 27 I will be at Mad Head, you can come too. We have already been to two weddings with the participation of Konstantin, in both cases everything went brilliantly.

DJ Sergio Bertolucci, also a professional in his field, works together with Konstantin. All the music was interesting and well chosen. You simply specify the desired vector, and they compose the entire program themselves.

When planning the program, we moved away from loaves, bride price, and other traditions and dogmas. We wanted to make everything interesting, fun and comfortable. On the one hand, we drew up a program for the day in Russian (a wedding in the morning, a banquet with the host in the evening), but at the same time we had no Russian traditions, only a couple of Czech ones: eating soup together with a holey spoon, picking up a broken plate, there was a first dance. By the way, we did Latin American dance, went to individual lessons with Elizaveta Kuklina - I highly recommend it, even a mediocrity like me can understand what and how to do.

We ordered the music for the morning ceremony ourselves, and ended up choosing Musica fesiva di Praga. In my subjective opinion, the difference in this matter is small, they play quietly in the background, but this pleasure costs only 5,000 crowns.

Karlstejn Castle

The Gothic Karlštejn was built on top of a 72-meter-high cliff as a place to store royal treasures. The place looks very unusual and atmospheric.

pros

  • You can register your marriage here if you decide to do it at the last minute.
  • You can have a ceremony and walk

Minuses

There is no hotel within walking distance of the castle

Dress, makeup, hairstyle for the bride

I have not touched on these issues in any way, so I won’t say anything specific. If you are interested in this question, then do not hesitate to ask in the comments, your wife will answer you.

I can only say that the dress was rented - we agreed that there was no point in storing a wedding dress that had been used once for centuries. It cost 10,200 crowns, although the price was not decisive. It happened by chance that she liked the dress, which turned out to be quite inexpensive. Makeup and hairstyle, including on-site travel (the previous night we slept on site) cost 4,600 CZK.

I already had my shoes and suit, but I had to decide on my hairstyle on the eve of the wedding, on the day of presenting the certificates in Poděbrady. As luck would have it, everything was busy everywhere, so I went to an expensive salon, where I paid 600 crowns. In fact, my hairstyle was the only noticeable failure in organizing the wedding.

Savoia Castle, Zamek Skvorec

Over the course of many years of history, the castle was completely destroyed, and later lovingly recreated from scratch by a married couple. The building is privately owned and under the tender care of the owners. The place is ideal for cozy family events, it is stylish and beautiful.

pros

  • You can hold a wedding from start to finish
  • The owners will do everything to fulfill your wishes
  • Cozy, modern and stylish

Minuses

If you want to have a wedding in an ancient castle, then Savoy will be too modern for you

Rings

I describe the sections in chronological order, so I marked the rings towards the end; you will order them a couple of months before the wedding. What an engagement ring (Czech: Zásnubní prsten

), that we bought wedding rings (Czech
Snubní prsteny
) in Prague at Zlatnictví Rýdl at Újezd 401/35. I highly recommend the company, which deals with the full cycle from production to lifelong maintenance.

Rýdl has everything beautifully designed, modern and laconic ring designs, many options to choose from. In many other places I saw outright squalor.

If in Russia rings are bought ready-made from the factory, then in the Czech Republic it is customary to make them to order. You choose the model, width, size, number and size of stones, metal, glossy or matte finish of the individual pieces, and then they are produced within a few weeks.

You can contact them in the future to change the size of rings, remelt them, etc. Moreover, they only use rings from their own production. Once every 2 years you can bring your rings in for free cleaning and change the type of polish if you wish.

It is better to choose rings closer to the warm season, so that it does not turn out that the ring is too small in summer. Otherwise, you are not limited by anything, there are a variety of types and types. Either from palladium, with Roman numerals, or from white gold and leaves. A pair of decent rings costs 15-20 thousand crowns.

I can recommend guys to choose engagement rings there, there are a lot of them. Let me remind you that engagement rings are usually made of white gold, with one or more diamonds. You need to know the size in advance, but if the size does not fit, you can increase or decrease the size for about 700 CZK. It's worth coming in advance, but in general you can do what I did - take a ready-made ring and then change the size. In general, such joy will cost you a couple of tens of thousands of crowns, but such is our hard lot. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me, I guarantee anonymity.

Video: symbolic wedding for two in the Czech Republic

A symbolic wedding in the Czech Republic is an excellent option for couples who have already registered their marriage in their homeland. This solution is also suitable for married couples who want to spend their wedding anniversary in an unusual way in a beautiful place, gain new vivid impressions and refresh their senses. A symbolic wedding in the Czech Republic is held as a traditional ceremony, but without the previous submission of a package of documents for the official registration of the marriage. A formal Czech wedding has no restrictions and is affordable for the newlyweds.

Wedding scenario

For a wedding day held in a Czech castle to be a great success, you need to think through an interesting and original scenario for the holiday. A good option for a wedding ceremony in the Czech Republic would be to stage a plot from knightly times - it’s unusual and fun. When the wedding guests and newlyweds gather in the prepared room of the castle, the host makes an introductory speech to immerse them in the medieval atmosphere:

– Soon we will find ourselves in the Middle Ages, in the era of beautiful ladies and brave knights! And it all started like this: once upon a time fashion gave the beautiful ladies of the Czech Republic lace scarves. They did not know what to do with this beautiful and, at first glance, useless thing. One day, ladies realized that with the help of a handkerchief they could attract the attention of men, they just had to wave it gracefully.

However, Czech beautiful ladies did not want to wave their handkerchiefs at soldiers or hooligans, so knights appeared. These were the kind of men whom you don’t feed with bread, but let them perform feats in the name of the lady of your heart and your own glory. We invite everyone present to try on the romantic roles of medieval characters and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of a wedding of that time.

All representatives of the stronger sex are included in the ranks of brave knights, and lovely women become beautiful ladies. Let's begin our acquaintance with you. In honor of the wedding, I ask each guest to write a couple of wise lines, comments or wishes for the newlyweds on the Coat of Arms of Family Happiness (this is a pre-prepared poster that is installed in the castle hall).

After this, the invitees begin to get to know each other and present wedding gifts to the newlyweds. Guests arriving for the wedding are called one by one to the center of the room, starting from the groom's side in descending order of proximity. Each invitee is given a certain rank, title.

Leading:

– Before you take your seats at the festive tables laden with rich dishes, let’s plunge deeper into our fabulous atmosphere of a Czech wedding in the Middle Ages. I ask the guests I named to come out to receive certain symbols. At our fairytale ball there are:

The prince, aka the groom. The princess is a beautiful bride. Kings are the fathers of young people. They are awarded orders (cardboard stars). Queens are mothers of the young. They receive beautiful magic fans. Fairies are matchmakers. They are given magic wands. Knights are matchmakers. They are awarded medals. The first knight is the young one's best friend. He is owed a boutonniere. The first lady of the heart is the bride's closest friend. She also gets a boutonniere. The brave warriors are the rest of the men. Beautiful ladies - the female half of the guests. The courtier is the leader. At your service, distinguished public. I will try to have a fun holiday, but not without your help.

Next, guests are taken to the castle hall with laid tables, where they are offered to try delicious festive dishes and enjoy noble wines.

Leading:

- Please fill your glasses. We have gathered here because two loving hearts have decided to bind themselves together by marriage. Let's raise our glasses so that the feeling that unites the young grows every year, charging the spouses and their future offspring with magical energy.

Next comes the time for wedding toasts. Parents and witnesses say warm words to the newlyweds, then all the other guests take turns.

Leading:

– From time immemorial, all holidays, and especially weddings, were accompanied by music, and the guests danced. Let's not deviate from Czech traditions. We invite brave knights and their beautiful ladies to the castle's dance hall, where charming newlyweds will dance their first wedding dance.

The young people's favorite song comes on and they dance. When the music stops, it's time for the wedding competitions.

Leading:

“The prince has a great responsibility on his shoulders - he must support his lovely princess. Let's lift the veil of the future and find out what kind of breadwinner the groom can be.

Figures are cut out of paper: house, car, money, beads, stroller, etc. They are attached to a thread or tape. The young man is blindfolded and given scissors, with the help of which he must cut off what the young family should acquire before the first wedding anniversary.

Leading:

– The time has come to conduct tests for brave knights and beautiful ladies. Let three brave couples come out, ready to complete the tasks. Hug each other with one arm, and with the other you should:

peel banana; tie a bow; tear a sheet of paper along the drawn line. Leading:

“I see that many warriors are tired and want to drink refreshing drinks, and the ladies are hungry.” Let's return to the holiday table for a moment.

After 15-20 minutes of feasting, competitions continue:

- It's time to get back to testing. During the Middle Ages, Czech knights were required to possess 7 virtues: horse riding, fencing, hunting, writing poems for ladies, swimming, javelin throwing, and playing checkers. We will offer slightly different tests. Let the most valiant knights come out and show how they can cope with a seemingly hopeless situation.

The men are seated on chairs. Music is turned on, to which they must, without getting up, dance with different parts of the body - arms, head, legs, lips, shoulders, eyes.

Leading:

“It’s time to appreciate what our beautiful ladies are capable of.” Women have long known how to earn a man's favor - he should be praised. I invite the fair half of the guests to continue the phrase “A knight is...” so that after these words the knights present in the castle will be inspired to new exploits.

Based on the applause of the guests gathered at the wedding, the winners of the competitions are determined, after which prizes are awarded to the ladies and knights in the beautiful premises of the castle. The main part of the wedding ends with the throwing of the bouquet and the bride's garter. Later, the wedding cake is cut. This is done in the armorial hall of the castle, after which the music is turned on and the dancing part of the holiday begins for the guests.

Honeymoon

To go or not to go on a honeymoon is not a question. This is a slightly less important component of the wedding than the wedding itself. You can go somewhere for a very small amount, calmly breathe out and relax after the wedding.

Choosing a place for our honeymoon was the last thing we did. We thought about Cuba, Israel, a cruise ship on the Mediterranean Sea, but in the end we went to Mallorca for 7 days. I liked it very much, we spent “only” 46,000 CZK in 7 days. Alas, a good half of the money went to the hotel. For details about the honeymoon, see a separate article.

Thousands of couples in love come to the Czech Republic to plunge into this fairy tale and receive beautiful wedding photographs as souvenirs. The beautiful streets of the Czech Republic do not require additional details for a photo shoot; against their background, the newlyweds will look like a medieval prince and princess.
