Childhood and adolescence
In May 1945, a girl was born into the family of US Air Force pilot James Wagner, who was named Priscilla. When she was three years old, her father died. My mother’s second husband was Paul Beaulieu, who was also a military pilot. He gave Priscilla his last name. The family moved frequently due to Paul's work.
When the girl turned 14 years old, she and her parents ended up in Wiesbaden (Germany), where Elvis was serving in the US Army at the same time. They met at the Eagle entertainment club. Despite the fact that Presley was 10 years older than the girl, this did not bother either side. For them it was love at first sight.
When Elvis met Priscilla, he had a girlfriend whom he introduced to his acquaintances as his bride. Her name was Anita Wood. But she was not destined to become the star’s wife, since young Miss Beaulieu settled in his heart from the first meeting. It took Elvis a lot of effort to convince his chosen one’s stern stepfather of the purity and seriousness of his intentions.

Childhood and youth
Priscilla Ann Beaulieu was born in Brooklyn in May 1945. The girl did not remember her father James Wagner, a US Air Force pilot - she was only three years old when he died in a plane crash. The second husband of Anna Lillian Iversen's mother again became a military pilot, Paul Beaulieu. It was he who gave Priscilla her middle name, Anne. The girl learned that Beaulieu was not her own father only in adolescence, and then by accident, when she found a childhood photo with her parents.
Priscilla Presley in her youth
The officer's family often moved after Paul. At the age of 14, Priscilla found herself in Wiesbaden, Germany, where Elvis was serving at that time. The young people met at the local entertainment club Eagle. Presley was 10 years older, but this fact did not bother either side.
Life with a star
When the musician returned to Hollywood, the lovers wrote letters to each other, and Presley sent the girl records. After breaking up with Anita, Elvis invited her to his estate. According to Priscilla, she found herself in a golden cage. The famous musician had his own opinion on how she should look and how she should behave. Even preparations for the wedding were carried out in secrecy. It took place in May 1967. If it weren’t for the persistence of the girl’s parents and Elvis’s manager, the wedding might not have taken place.
She is a fierce pro-horse advocate.
Taking a look at Priscilla Presley's Twitter page, her strong affinity for horses is obvious. She took this passion to the next level, becoming a strong advocate for ending soring. In Jackson Sun, Soring "practices deliberately abusing the gait of Tennessee horses and related breeds to exaggerate their gait, causing pain to the animals with each step, so that they lift their front legs higher, in what is known as a "big lick."
In January 2021, the newspaper reported that Priscilla (who kept horses at Graceland for years) called on President Donald Trump to issue a rule that would ban equipment used for sorning and train inspectors through the USDA to prevent the practice. As recently as April 2018, she continued to speak out on her social media pages about passing the Prevent All Tactics (Past) Act.
According to its official website, under Priscilla's look, Graceland is even before the horse rescue.
Birth of a daughter and divorce
Daughter Lisa Maria was born to the couple in 1968, and after 4 years this marriage broke up.
Priscilla began a relationship with her coach. After the divorce, she took her father's surname. She admitted in an interview that it was not easy to live with Elvis Presley - he demanded too much from her. Her husband's fame did not go to her head. The young and beautiful woman turned into the shadow of her famous husband, and she wanted to build her own life.

When Presley passed away, Priscilla made a lot of efforts to ensure that his name was not forgotten. It was she who turned the estate of the musician and singer into one of the most visited museums in the United States.
To freedom with a clear conscience
On February 1, 1968, 9 months after the wedding, a daughter, Lisa Marie, was born into the Presley family, who became a celebrity at the moment of her birth. However, this happy event became fatal: it was this, according to Priscilla, that put an end to their marriage with Elvis. Despite the fact that Presley loved children and dreamed of fatherhood, he was disappointed that Priscilla became pregnant so early. And the newly minted Mrs. Presley herself was not delighted: she dreamed of shining in the world in expensive outfits and traveling the world, but instead she had to spend time in doctors’ offices and wear shapeless suits that hid her pregnancy. But abortion was out of the question.
Lisa-Marie recalled: “You wouldn’t envy your mother... After I was born, my parents’ marriage turned into a formality. Both my father and mother had connections with others.” Elvis Presley remembered his single life and went all out, Priscilla met with her karate coach Mike Stone. A beautiful marriage was bursting at the seams. In 1973, Elvis and Priscilla officially filed for divorce, while remaining friends. Marty Lekker, Elvis's best friend and best man at the wedding, recalls the divorce process this way: “In October, Elvis and Priscilla's divorce was finalized. They entered the judge's room and held hands while the judge completed formalities, and then went outside. Priscilla waved goodbye to her ex-husband, and Elvis winked at her. That's all…"

Film work
After divorcing her husband, Priscilla came to cinema. Elvis's death was a huge blow to her. She tried to distract herself from difficult thoughts, and work helped her with this. She often appeared in TV series and films about her husband, playing the roles of herself and television shows.
The role of Jenna Wade in the popular TV series “Dallas” became very successful in her career. Then she played the main roles in the series “Stuntmen” and the melodrama “Love Forever”. After that, she played the role of Jane Spencer, the girlfriend of a drug lord, in a series of comedies that were united under the title “The Naked Gun.” Her partner was Leslie Nielsen.
Over time, Priscilla acted as a television producer and writer. In the book "Elvis and Me" she described her life with her famous husband.
She "humanized" Elvis's dark side
In April 2021, HBO premiered his critically acclaimed documentary Elvis Presley: The Searcher, which examines the arc of Elvis' personal life and career all the way through his death. According to people, Priscilla Presley was closely involved with the film as an executive producer.
She told the magazine that it was difficult to review the details of Elvis' death, and that her ex-husband's drug addiction became unmanageable towards the end of his life to the point that she was unable to intervene. “People are coming, why didn’t anyone do anything?” she said. “Well, that's not true. The people there in the inner group did it, but you didn't tell Elvis Presley what to do. You did not know. I mean, you could get out of there faster than a scratched cat. There's no way they'll try. He knew what he was doing."
Priscilla believes that by exploring the gritty details, the film paints a truer portrait of Elvis for his fans. "[W]e are exposing what happened behind the scenes," Priscilla told the panel (via Parade). “If you loved him, you will love him even more after. Because the film humanizes him. You'll really get to know him."
Charity
Priscilla is actively involved in charity work. As an ambassador for the Dream Foundation, she helps people who are struggling with incurable diseases. Along with other celebrities, she participates in the Citizens Commission on Human Rights.
Priscilla Wagner (Presley) is a prime example of the fact that, if desired, a woman can step out of the shadow of her husband to create her own name.

She published a children's book
In 2021, the children's illustrated book Elvis Presley Love Me Tender, based on the Elvis song of the same name, was published. It was billed as "a touching ode to the special bond between children and the adults who love and care for them - be they parents, grandparents, stepparents, aunts, uncles or guardians."
As Priscilla told People, the book (for which she wrote the ending) was inspired by Lisa Marie's twin daughters, Harper and Finlay. “I can’t imagine they don’t like the book,” Priscilla said. “Firstly, they will instantly recognize the title, and secondly, it is a good story of love, acceptance and a happy ending. Isn’t that what children want?”
Presley's grandmother told the Today show that Elvis' song was always intended as a tribute to family, despite its seemingly romantic lyrics. "Every race, every culture can relate to it, every country... it can be the first book for a child to learn to read."
And the grandmother is awarded...
Priscilla was extremely involved in her daughter Lisa Marie's life, publicly supporting her through personal and financial turmoil. In March 2021, ABC's Good Morning America reported that Lisa Marie's twin daughters remained with Priscilla while Lisa Marie pursued a highly contentious divorce from Michael Lockwood.
As of November 2021, Priscilla was still caring for the twins, telling us weekly: "It's great, it's absolutely great. I love it... having twins is quite an experience I must say. They are both very different."
Meanwhile, Lisa Marie is reportedly still fighting in court with her husband and her former business manager. According to a February 2021 article in the Telegraph, Lisa Marie claims he seriously mishandled her finances to the point where her entire estate was reduced to thousands of dollars.
Along with the twins, Priscilla also regularly sees her granddaughter and actress Riley Keough, Lisa Marie's daughter with musician Danny Keough.
She went on tour to 'speak out'
Priscilla took her show on the road in 2021 and 2021, touring "An Evening with Priscilla Presley: An Open Conversation." According to the official website, the presentation was billed as "an extremely rare opportunity to gain insight into a world only a few entered...an intimate interview format where she will answer questions from the audience and share stories that will spark curiosity and conversation."
