Nikolay Alexandrovich IVANOV

Childhood and youth

In early childhood, Nikolai and his parents moved to the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug to the city of Noyabrsk . It was there that Kolya spent his childhood and youth. He was brought up in strictness, sometimes the father even flogged his son for misdeeds. Often during the holidays, during the warm season, the family went to the Penza region to the village to visit relatives in Novy Shustrui (Nizhnelomovsky district), where spring came much earlier. When Kolya was ten years old, the whole family moved there permanently. Kolya, like all children, loved to ride a bike with his friends, swim in the pond,

The young man spent his teenage years in a village in the Penza region, where he grazed cows, chopped wood, mowed grass and learned to light a stove. I got up at five in the morning. Vocal talent was passed on to the young man from his grandfather (an opera singer). Soon, in 1991, the Soviet Union collapsed, and the millionaire collective farm in this difficult time began to disintegrate, and people left in search of a better life. Nikolai's family remained to live in the village.

The young man learned to play the guitar and began composing songs, working part-time at various events and weddings. I dreamed of becoming a professional musician. In the difficult 90s, the family survived due to household farming (geese, chickens, piglets) and a vegetable garden. After graduating from secondary school, the young man enters a pedagogical school in the nearest regional center - Nizhnelomovsk.

He studied at an educational institution to become a primary school teacher with the right to teach music lessons. There were no other options related to music education nearby. While studying at the school, the young man simultaneously began studying in a drama club, where its leader was Boleeva Larisa Fedorovna. The young man really enjoyed performing on stage as an actor. It was then that Nikolai first thought about the acting profession.

The turning point in Nikolai’s life was the arrival of the capital’s Maly Theater in Penza in 1996. The director of the theater group, who was a teacher at the Shchepkinsky School, Viktor Korshunov, announced the enrollment of his course. Nikolai went to Moscow, but did not expect to enroll, he thought he would just look at the capital and return. During the entrance exams I read Yesenin’s “Confession of a Hooligan.”

Thanks to his rural, punchy character, the young man managed to enter the Moscow Theater University (VTU named after Shchepkin). The whole village was happy for their fellow countryman, who managed to become a student at the famous Shchepkinsky School.

The young man studied acting in the workshop of the People's Artist of the USSR (1984) Viktor Ivanovich Korshunov (1929-2015), who recognized the young man’s extraordinary talent. Many famous Russian actors became graduates of the talented director, among them were: Svetlana Nemolyaeva, Vasily Bochkarev, Marat Basharov, Alexander Domogarov and many others.

Nikolai was a favorite of the teacher of the Shchepkinsky School for stage speech Natalya Vasilievna Sharonova. With his classmate Ilya Isaev, Nikolai constantly participated in various musical skits and concerts, where they performed solo. He loved to compose songs and put them into different voices with a friend. These songs were a success at the Shchepkinsky School.

The young actor took part in the student play “Zoykina’s Apartment ,” where he played the role of Amethyst. Nikolai graduated from the theater university in 2000.

Childhood, youth: Temirtau – Nizhny Lomov – Moscow

Kolya was born in the spring of 1980 into the musical Ivanov family.
The boy’s grandfather, an opera singer, once moved to the city of Temirtau, Karaganda region. Dad, Alexander Ivanov, at one time toured the entire Soviet Union as part of VIA. Little Kolya spent his childhood in the Yamalo-Nenets Okrug, where the family moved to the city of Noyabrsk. The constant cold and harsh winters did not leave any special memories; the boy liked the village in the Penza region, where he came on vacation, much more. After some time, the parents decided to move to warmer climes and moved to the village of Novy Shustrui.

Rural life taught the boy a lot: he fed livestock, took cows to graze, chopped wood, and helped manage the garden. For entertainment, there is a guitar, which Kolya learned to play with the help of his father. He composed songs himself and was always happy to earn extra money at weddings or village celebrations.

Having received a school certificate, Ivanov took the documents to the Nizhny Lomov Pedagogical School. There were no other educational institutions nearby where one could get an education, and Nikolai liked the fact that he would become a primary school teacher and dreamed of teaching children music. At the school, Ivanov also enrolled in a drama club.

The failed music teacher decided that village arrogance should help him, and in the end he actually passed the first round, after which he was invited to Moscow for the final selection. It was the mid-nineties, Ivanov decided that it would be interesting to “drive to the capital”, since he did not particularly expect to become a student at a theater university. But he was accepted. The actor later recalled that he spent the first six months in the capital in a fog: he fell madly in love with a classmate, learned all the delights of life in a hostel. He was forced to believe that he was, after all, a student of the famous Sliver, by a teacher who threatened to expel Ivanov if he did not come to his senses. Nikolai came to his senses and by his senior year he had already participated in the Maly Theater’s productions of “Zoykina’s Apartment” and “Krechinsky’s Wedding.” At the beginning of the 2000s, he was invited to join the troupe of the Theater for Young Spectators. He was constantly silent when she came to the village, watched her from afar, but did not have the courage to speak. Because of his indecision, his love remained unrequited.
