Igor Krutoy is a producer, composer and singer who, at different periods of his creative work, collaborated with almost all modern pop stars. Today, the artist lives in two countries and flies to Russia exclusively for work. Krutoy’s wife, Olga, lives in New Jersey and is engaged in business. Their common daughter Alexandra is also there. My parents had nothing to do with art. Father - Yakov Aleksandrovich - a dispatcher at a local plant, mother - Svetlana Semyonovna - a housewife who raised children. Krutoy has a sister, Alla, who is not related to music. The girl got married, lives in Italy, does not appear in Russia.

When the boy discovered impeccable hearing during his school years, his parents decided to develop this talent, unknown to anyone in the family, and sent him to a music school. Krutoy studied piano, but, thanks to his father, he also played the button accordion beautifully. Already in the 6th grade, the future pop star created her first creative team, with which she performed at school festivals, participated in amateur performances, and city festivals. Then Krutoy began to earn his first money, to help his family, which at that time did not live well.

After school, Igor entered the Kirovograd Music College on his first try, and upon graduation, he found a job as a button accordion teacher in one of the music schools in his hometown. In 1975, the musician continued his studies, this time entering the conducting department at the Nikolaev Institute. After studying, Krutoy moved to Moscow by invitation. Since 1980, he became a member of the Blue Guitars VIA.

In 1986, the musician’s cherished dream came true: he entered the composition department of the Saratov Conservatory. Sobinova. A year later, Krutoy released his first hit, “Madonna,” which was brilliantly performed by singer Alexander Serov.

Composer career

Serov enjoyed collaborating with the young composer so much that he decided to continue. The following songs were no less successful. Among them are “Do you love me”, “How to be”, “Wedding music”. Soon Krutoy’s compositions were already being sung by: Laima Vaikule, Alexander Buinov, Valery Leontyev, Irina Allegrova. Since 1994, Igor began organizing creative evenings as a composer.

In 2000, Krutoy wrote his own album of instrumental music, which he called “Music without Words.” Next, together with Allegrova, he sang a duet “Unfinished Romance” and shot a video for the song, and later independently performed the touching composition “My Friend”.

In 2010, Krutoy fruitfully collaborated with the French performer Lara Fabian, and the recorded album “Mademoiselle Zhivago” became the composer’s “calling card” on the world stage. Igor is well known in Belgium, Canada, France, and Switzerland. In honor of his sixtieth birthday, Krutoy organized a concert “There are 60 times in life,” where major Russian pop stars were invited.

In 1979 he graduated from the conducting and choral department of the music and pedagogical faculty of the Nikolaev State Pedagogical Institute named after. V. G. Belinsky, student of V. F. Ivanov. In 1981, he was invited to work first as a pianist and then as the leader of Valentina Tolkunova’s ensemble. During this period, he collaborated a lot and toured concerts with actor Evgeny Leonov.

His first success came in 1987, when he wrote the song “Madonna” based on the poems of the famous poetess Rimma Kazakova, and it was performed by I. Krutoy’s longtime friend from his work in Ukraine, Alexander Serov. The song became a laureate of the “Song of the Year” television festival. Further, for Alexander Serov, the composer wrote such famous songs as “Wedding Music”, “How to Be”, “Do You Love Me”, also based on poems by Rimma Kazakova.

In 1986 and 1987, A. Serov won international competitions with the songs “Inspiration” and “Despite Fate.”

In 1987 he released the album “Confession” - his first original album, which presents four of his songs performed by different singers. Krutoy himself is listed on the record as the leader of one of the accompanying groups.

In 1988, Igor Krutoy became a laureate of the Lenin Komsomol Prize.

Since 1989, in addition to creative activities, he also began to actively engage in production activities. He heads the ARS company (original name ARS Youth Center), first as director - artistic director, and then, since 1998, as president. Over the 11 years of its existence, the ARS company, under his leadership, has become one of the largest concert and production organizations in Russia.

For many years now, since 1994, the ARS company has been holding creative evenings of the composer and People's Artist of Russia with the participation of Russian pop stars. The first creative evenings were presented for the composer’s fortieth anniversary at the Moscow Operetta Theater (1994).

Personal life

Krutoy was officially married twice and has an adult son and daughter. At the beginning, he was credited with an affair with Allegrova, but the composer explained that this union was exclusively creative. Today, Igor Yakovlevich already has two grandchildren.

Krutoy's first wife - Elena

The composer met his first wife in his hometown when he was 26 years old. After three dates, the ardent lover made an official marriage proposal and received consent. His chosen one was a certain Elena, then a young girl who had nothing to do with creativity. The lovers married in 1978, and soon the young wife gave her husband their first child, Nikolai.

Everything was not so rosy in the family life of Igor and Elena. The couple lived in his wife’s small apartment, there was a catastrophic lack of money, and Krutoy at that time did not yet have a regular income. Scandals in the family became more frequent, the last straw was Elena's pregnancy. In the third month, she kicked Igor out of the house and filed for divorce, and after the birth of her son Nikolai, she forbade him to see him. Cool even got hooked on the glass out of grief.

Much later, the woman admitted the mistake, and Nikolai established a family relationship with his star father. The composer is grateful to his first wife for her honesty, otherwise their unhappy marriage would have lasted for several years of despondency and mutual reproaches.

Igor Krutoy's wife - Olga

In the early 90s, the composer went to the USA to hold the traditional Song of the Year festival. At this event, Igor met the spectacular brunette Olga, who immediately fell into the man’s soul. After 10 years of loneliness, Krutoy realized that he had fallen in love again. But his chosen one was married, raising a daughter and had no plans to leave America, where she emigrated from Russia with her parents as a child.

Soon Olga filed for divorce and agreed to marry Krutoy. The man happily accepted not only her, but also his adopted daughter Victoria from his first marriage (he officially gave his last name). But Olga was in no hurry to return to Russia, especially since she managed a profitable business in New Jersey. So the composer had to live in two countries for many years.

In 2003, Olga gave birth to Krutoy’s daughter Alexandra, whom the happy parents hid from the public for a long time. Journalists even suggested that little Sasha has a form of autism. Later, all these speculations were dispelled.

The composer has been married to his wife for about 20 years and raised two daughters. Since the woman rarely accompanied her husband at social events, and, in general, did not appear in Russia so often, the topic of Krutoy’s divorce was regularly raised in the press.

Many years later, Igor is still happily married. There is no talk of divorce from Olga. The composer tries to spend his free time with his beloved family abroad.

Children and grandchildren

The eldest son Nikolai was born in 1981 and was raised by Krutoy’s first wife. For some time he did not communicate with his father, but later Elena stopped interfering with these meetings. The composer tried to prevent his son’s mistakes, but it didn’t work out.

Nikolai married unsuccessfully, and after a quick divorce, Krutoy’s granddaughter, Christina, and her mother Natalya left for Monaco, where she lives with her new dad. Nikolai did not follow in the footsteps of his star parent; he does business in the capital and is considered a financially independent person.

The adopted daughter Victoria, to whom Krutoy gave his surname, was born in 1985 in New Jersey. She gets along well with her stepfather, and since 2009 she has been studying vocals and building a career as a singer. The girl married restaurateur David Berkovich, Vika is happily married, and in 2015 she gave birth to a daughter, Demi-Rose. Lives with family in New Jersey.

About the wife of Kirill Safonov - Sasha Savelyeva.

The joint daughter of Igor and Olga was born in 2003. The girl was named Alexandra. The parents hid the child from prying eyes, which caused a lot of speculation in the press. They even said that Sasha had autism. Having matured, Krutoy’s youngest daughter became more active on social networks, and from recent photos it is obvious that she is completely healthy. Today Alexandra is 16 years old and lives in New Jersey.

Disease

A couple of years ago, fans were alarmed why Igor had lost so much weight. Then the composer explained that he had diabetes, and the doctors radically changed his daily diet and recommended him to adhere to a therapeutic diet. The result is obvious. The composer lost 15 kg in a short period.

The second version, which is confirmed by the composer’s famous friends, is that Krutoy is seriously ill with cancer. There have been no official statements in the press from his family, but it is obvious that in recent photos the composer has noticeably slowed down.
