Marina Zhadan, performing under the pseudonym Marie Crimebreri, is a popular singer of Ukrainian origin who writes the lyrics for her songs. The girl belongs to a new wave of performers who became famous not thanks to production assistance, but as a result of regularly posting tracks of their own composition on the Internet.

The girl started out on her own, but soon she was offered cooperation by the famous production studio Velvet Music. In high school, the girl began to study poorly, behaved impudently and closed, often conflicted with her father, and did not find contact with classmates. Marina felt and understood that her classmates did not like her, she assumed that the reason for this was envy, because the girl performed with a choreographic studio, her parents dressed her well and fashionably.

The teachers were concerned that Marina was a poor student and did not listen attentively in class. In fact, the girl was simply very tired from rehearsals and performances. The only school subject that Marina liked was literature. The teacher assigned me to write either a long essay or a short Japanese Hoku poem on the topic covered. Marina chose what seemed simpler to her. So she gradually developed a love for writing poetry.

In the song, Marie spoke about her experience of unhappy love. The guy she came to Moscow to legitimize the relationship betrayed and left her. Marie Crimebreri never said what exactly caused the breakup, but there was a rumor in the media that the singer’s Moscow lover turned out to be aggressive, quarrelsome, and prone to alcohol abuse.

1992—2010: childhood and youth

Marie Crimebreri was born on August 21, 1992 in the Ukrainian city of Krivoy Rog. The singer's real name is Marina Vadimovna Zhadan. The pseudonym was invented at school at the age of 13, when she dreamed of becoming a singer[12]. In those same years, she began to write poetry secretly from everyone. In 2007, with the help of her older brother Oleg, she released a collection of poems “Alone with the Sky”[13].

From the age of 4 she performed on stage as a soloist in a children's dance group, but a knee injury received at the age of 15 ruined her plans for a career as a dancer. After that, Marina began choreographing numbers for groups and teaching others to dance. Today, Marie dances again during performances[13].

After graduating from school, she entered the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) at the Department of Finance and Credit[5].

2011—2017: beginning of career, “NNNK”, success

Having moved from Krivoy Rog to Moscow to live with a young man, she got a job as a choreographer at a production center[3].

Marina started thinking about becoming a singer, according to her, after the betrayal of her loved one. She turned to the management of the production center where she worked with a proposal: she would work for free for some time, but record in the studio[14].

At the age of 19, Marie Crimebreri began her career as a singer-songwriter, writing a composition for the group “5sta Family” for $2,000, which, however, was never released.[3] Since then, she began writing songs on her own. In addition to writing music and lyrics for her compositions, Marie also produces them[5]. Crimebreary claims that all her songs are autobiographical: about difficult periods in life, love, betrayal[15].

The singer’s first big release was the song “Let’s Forever”, written by her together with T-killah[16]. A video for the song was released in 2015. In 2021, Marina, together with the performer Lx24, shot a video clip for the joint song “We Will Be Alone in the City”[17].

Success came to the singer with the release of the album “NNNKN”[18] on April 7, 2021, which included 13 songs, the most popular of which was “Love Me Drunk”[12].

2017: collaboration with Velvet Music

Marina did not work with producers for a long time until she was offered cooperation in the Velvet Music production center, under the auspices of which Vladimir Presnyakov, the Vintage group, Yolka, the lead singer of the Burito group, Zvonky and others perform.[19][2] Velvet bought the demo recording of the singer “The Right Girl” for the group “MBAND”, and then offered cooperation, and she agreed. Since 2021, Crimebreary began to appear on radio stations and television. On November 28 of the same year, Marina held her first big solo concert in Moscow ““Not adequate!”: Live in Moscow”[21].

2018-2021: “Changed my shoes”, “Golden Gramophone”, “The whole world will recognize us (Part 1)” and other projects

On March 30, 2021, the second studio album “Changed Shoes” was released, which included 14 singles and video clips were shot for 7 of them[20].

In 2021, Marie Crimebreri released 2 hits: “Hidden in the Bathtub” and “Ocean”, which were later included in the album “The whole world will recognize us, Pt. 1" and received a platinum disc. In December of the same year, she won the Golden Gramophone statuette with the song “Hidden in the Bathroom”[11]. During the performance, a scandal broke out with Svetlana Loboda: “Loboda refused to perform at the anniversary concert of the Golden Gramophone award because of the bathtub, which was used in the number as a prop by Marie Crimebreri, because this prop was also present in Svetlana’s number.”[22] [23]. In 2021 she won again, but with the song “Ocean”[24].

On March 19, 2021, she presented her third studio album, “The whole world will recognize us, Pt. 1"[25][26][27], which reached the highest positions on the charts[9] and was certified platinum twice. On February 8, she was nominated for the ZHARA Music Awards 2021 in the category singer of the year, and in April for the MUZ-TV and RU.TV awards as the best performer[30][31].

Personal life of Marie Crimebreri

For fans, the personal life of Marie Crimebreri is of great interest, but the singer does not allow anyone into her family and does not talk about relationships with the opposite sex.
