It often happens that the starting point for the development of someone’s creative career is the “Club of the Cheerful and Resourceful,” which has been delighting viewers with humorous performances for more than 50 years. One of these people from KVN is Kirill Kokovkin, who fell in love with all those with a good sense of humor, performing as part of the Soyuz team. She has been successfully participating in various stage projects for many years, and now she has also acquired her own show on the television screen. How was Kokovkin’s path from a young artist to the creative director of his own show? Everything about the life and work of Kirill in this article.
Early years
Kirill Kokovkin does not like to talk about his biography. On the Internet you can find only rare facts from the life of Kirill before his participation in KVN. He was born on November 11, 1983 in the city of Yekaterinburg. At a young age, Kirill was fond of football, and also attended a music school, where he learned to play various instruments, such as the timpani. His favorite song is Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple.
After school, Kirill Kokovkin received a degree in computer science and foreign languages and even taught for some time. However, he still did not think about working in this area; he was attracted to a completely different activity - creative.
Family status
Not much is known about the personal life of Kirill Kokovkin. In an interview, he admitted that his busy work schedule leaves much less time for his family than he would like. Kokovkin has a wife, Yulia, and not so long ago he became a father for the second time. The couple is very protective of their personal life and tries not to show it off. Now Kirill lives practically in two cities, “torn” between Yekaterinburg, where his family is, and Moscow, where all his creative activities take place.
Passion for KVN
Like many other participants in this beloved game, Kirill got into KVN by accident. During a performance at his native university, while still a freshman, his older comrades liked him for his artistry and ease. They invited him to join their team, and the game captivated student Kokovkin for many years. During his career in the Club of the Cheerful and Resourceful, Kirill managed to play for many teams: Legion-45, Kontor, Moliere and Mol. The latter represented the city of Shadrinsk. Then he joined the KVN team "Soyuz", which brought him popularity. Together with Kirill, his friend Alexander Alymov moved from Moli to Soyuz. Kokovkin calls the “Simples” team his favorite team in KVN.

Participation of Kirill Kokovkin in KVN
Two regional KVN teams “Mol” (Shadrinsk) and “Harvard” (Tyumen), having become quite famous among the local public, decided to join forces to conquer new heights. This is how the Soyuz team appeared. The name spoke for itself. This merger took place in 2011, and three years later the team became the champion of the KVN Major League. Kirill’s role on stage is as follows: he announces the numbers, directs the other participants, and also expresses dissatisfaction with the repertoire and stops his singing colleagues at the very moment when the audience has already burst into laughter and it is necessary to move on to the next part of the performance. Kirill Kokovkin calls himself “the artistic director of singing idiots.” Kirill’s teammates are Viktor Shchetkov, Artem Muratov, Aidar Garayev, as well as the only girl in the “Union” - Elena Gushchina. Recalling his funniest meeting with fans, Kirill says that it was funny when a fan who did not recognize Kokovkin asked to take a photo of him with Aidar.
“Soyuz” is a very titled team. She has won many KVN musical awards: gold and light KiViNs. The team also managed to win first prize at the KVN Summer Cup. Musical numbers became the highlight of the team. This is probably why, when they left KVN in 2014 and decided to create their own show, the guys from Soyuz made it musical.

Own program
After leaving KVN, Soyuz participated in various humor festivals for a long time, but the guys always wanted something more. In 2021, they organized their show on the TNT channel, which, after filming the first (pilot) episode, which the editors liked, immediately went on air. This significant event occurred on August 10, 2021, and a month later the project became one of the most popular programs on this channel. The idea of creating such a program belonged to the team members themselves, since they imagined a creative future after the “Club of the Cheerful and Resourceful” exclusively together.
The concept of Studio Soyuz was supported by the chief producer of the TNT channel, Vyacheslav Dusmukhametov. It is based on finding out which of the invited celebrity guests is better versed in the work of representatives of the Russian stage. The program is filled with jokes, musical numbers, and funny competitions. The main “highlight” of the program is the live reaction to what is happening from both the guests and the team members themselves. The following people have already visited the Soyuz Studio: Sergey Zhukov, Yulianna Karaulova, Yegor Creed, Mot, Alexander Panayotov and many other celebrities. Here Kokovkin plays his usual role of entertainer. He notes that in the entire history of the project, he was most struck by TV presenter Ksenia Borodina, who was able to remember and sing almost the entire text of the song “Sex Without Interruption” by the group “Malchishnik.”
To the question: “What will the team members do when all the funny and ridiculous songs of Russian performers run out?” Kirill answers in his characteristic manner that our stars will never run out of such “masterpieces.”
Best Performances
Kaveen artists claim that they write the miniatures themselves. There are no taboo topics for them. Therefore, political and social jokes become a calling card. As Aidar Garayev says, the team received carte blanche on such topics after the famous “Social Rock Opera” number about roads, cinema and football in the country.

“They made it clear that in this direction we can do a little more than others,” explains the Tyumen captain.
Garayev does not agree with the statement that an indecent word was used in this number.
“There was no unprintable word as such. It can be heard from the English phrase Godknows (“God knows”) in the famous song by Queen,” explains Aidar.
And he adds that everyone thinks to the extent of their depravity.
Viewers remembered Soyuz not only for its sharp jokes, but also for its musical numbers. The participants have excellent vocals, which they demonstrate in every performance.

Viewers still remember the Tyumen team’s musical number “Song about Jennifer Psaki,” which the team prepared for Nikolai Rastorguev’s song “Horse.” Thanks to the mix, the result was a sharply political joke on the actions of the official representative of the US State Department, Jennifer Psaki, known for her statements.
Among the best performances of the “Union” is a song about Chinese trade turnover. Aidar Garayev sang from the stage in the company of representatives of the Celestial Empire about the full wagons that are rushing to Russia with strange goods:
“The Chinese have found an approach to the nature of all Russian people, because everything we named is cheaper than 40 rubles.”
Aidar Garayev also performed the “Tatar boy” number “Kurban Bayram” about the unhappy love of a ram for a sheep, which accumulated fat over the winter and ended up in a cauldron. This is a hint for girls to stick to a diet in winter.

Tyumen residents often perform musical performances based on popular hits. Among them is Valery Leontyev’s composition “The Sunny Days Have Disappeared,” which the comedians remade into “The Former Enthusiasm Has Disappeared,” about fattened lovers.
The cult numbers of KVN were such jokes from the Union as “Song about Ferrari”, “Instead of lies a song”, “Aidar’s life in Moscow”, “War and Peace”, “In the cold winter season”, “Bar “At Semyon’s” "".
Other projects
Kirill Kokovkin worked for a long time as a screenwriter for the KVN team “Kefir”. His Soyuz colleague, Aidar Garayev, helped him in this. Among Kirill’s unusual activities, one can note writing jokes for a Russian publication located in China. He also works a lot on the Studio Soyuz project, being its creative director and the author of many jokes, despite the fact that most of them are completely impromptu. After successful participation in KVN, Kokovkin began to be invited as a presenter to various events. After the release of Studio Soyuz on the TNT channel, prices for Kokovkin’s celebrations increased even more, as did his popularity.
Command structure
The Tyumen team consists of 8 people. Six play constantly on stage: captain Aidar Garayev, Alexander Alymov, Elena Gushchina (Lelya), Kirill Kokovkin, Artyom Muratov and Viktor Shchetkov. There is also director Irina Neuimina and sound engineer Maxim Morozov.

Alexander Alymov adheres to the image of a drinking player and can make rude jokes. Artem is a dancing participant who also sings well. Victor tries to joke, but Kirill constantly thinks that he is doing everything stupidly. Elena sings songs about the relationship between a man and a woman.
“There are no deep acting mysteries in the existing roles of our team. Each of us simply exaggerates one of our character traits on stage,” says Aidar Garayev.
The guys have such a good relationship that at the very beginning of their careers in KVN, the Tyumen team didn’t even want to choose a captain. However, the rules of the game forced me to make a choice.
