A'Studio
[1] (also
A-Studio
[2]) is a Kazakh-Russian pop music group.
The composition of the group changed several times. The group was created by Kazakh musician Baygali Serkebaev, the son of the famous opera singer Ermek Serkebaev. Until 1987, the group accompanied Rosa Rymbaeva. Currently, the team consists of five people: Baygali Serkebaev, Vladimir Miklosic, Fyodor Dosumov, Katie Topuria (soloist), Evgeniy Dalsky. Sergei Kumin (second guitarist) also works closely with the group.
Story
From the moment the group was created, it had the name “Alma-Ata”, then “Alma-Ata-Studio”, but after the group joined the “Song Theater” by A. B. Pugacheva, the name was shortened to “A-Studio”, later - A 'Studio.
Until 2000, the vocalist and face of the group was Batyrkhan Shukenov. After him, only girls are soloists in the group: first - Polina Griffis, now - Katie Topuria. Throughout its existence, the group has been collaborating with Kazakh composer Erkesh Shakeev. Among the hits of "A'Studio" are his songs: "Unloved" from the 1996 album of the same name, "Running to You" and "Soul" - from the 2007 album "905", "Fashion Girl" - from the 2010 album "Waves" .
In 2000, Batyrkhan Shukenov left the group (died of a heart attack in 2015)[3].
On August 2, 2006, composer, guitarist and lead singer Baglan Sadvakasov, who had previously been a member of the group for 17 years, died in a car accident in Moscow[4].
On November 18, 2007, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of “A’Studio”, the group’s anniversary solo concert took place at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow[2].
Another anniversary concert took place in 2012 in the Kremlin on the 25th anniversary of the group.
History of the group
In 1982, in Almaty, Baigali Serkerbaev, who had only recently graduated from the conservatory, worked at the Arai VIA.
The soloist of the group was the Kazakh singer Roza Rymbaeva, famous in her time, and Baigali accompanied her. Soon the group broke up, and Rymbaeva invited Serkerbaev to select a new composition for the team. From the old lineup, only guitarist Bulat Syzdykov remained. Then Vladimir Miklosic, who had previously worked in the RKhN team, joined the group. Ultimately, the new composition of “Aray” was presented by Baygali Serkebaev, Vladimir Miklosic, Nadzhib Vildanov, Bulat Syzdykov, Sagnay Abdulin and Batyrkhan Shukenov.
The musicians worked very successfully with Rymbaeva until 1987, and then it was decided to start their own project. At first it was called “Alma-Ata Studio”, which was later decided to be shortened to “A-Studio”, and then to “A’Studio”.
In 1988, the group released its first full-length record, entitled “The Path Without Stops,” which turned out to be quite good, but still did not receive wide distribution. The rapid development of the group’s success began in 1989, when the song “Julia” was released. This composition came to Philip Kirkorov, who liked the recording and decided to show it to Alla Pugacheva. Soon, the A-Studio participants were already working at the Song Theater, whose director was Pugacheva.
In 2000, Batyrkhan Shukenov, who had been the vocalist and main songwriter since the founding of the group, left A-Studio. After this, Polina Griffiths became the soloist, and today the soloist is Keti Topuria, a beauty originally from Georgia. The first album that was released together with Keti was “Flying Away”, which was released in March 2005. Both music lovers and music critics really liked the record, which became a real “baptism of fire” for Katie.
In August 2006, the group suffered a heavy loss - Baglan Sadvakasov, who was a guitarist, composer and lead singer of the group for 17 years, died in a car accident. Sadvokasov's place was taken by his son Tamerlan, who by that time was 17 years old. Later Tamerlan went to study in England, and Fedor Dosumov joined the group.
In 2007, “A’Studio” celebrated its anniversary, as a sign of which they held a large anniversary solo concert in the Kremlin Palace in Moscow.
During its activity, "A'Studio" released a total of sixteen albums, the last of which was "Waves", distributed by the record company Real Records.

An excerpt characterizing A'Studio
Anna Mikhailovna looked at Vera and stopped. The Countess shook hands with her friend. “Vera,” said the countess, addressing her eldest daughter, obviously unloved. - How come you have no idea about anything? Don't you feel like you're out of place here? Go to the sisters, or... Beautiful Vera smiled contemptuously, apparently not feeling the slightest insult. “If you had told me long ago, mamma, I would have left immediately,” she said, and went to her room. But, passing by the sofa, she noticed that there were two couples sitting symmetrically at two windows. She stopped and smiled contemptuously. Sonya sat close to Nikolai, who was copying out poems for her that he had written for the first time. Boris and Natasha were sitting at another window and fell silent when Vera entered. Sonya and Natasha looked at Vera with guilty and happy faces. It was fun and touching to look at these girls in love, but the sight of them, obviously, did not arouse a pleasant feeling in Vera. “How many times have I asked you,” she said, “not to take my things, you have your own room.” She took the inkwell from Nikolai. “Now, now,” he said, wetting his pen. “You know how to do everything at the wrong time,” said Vera. “Then they ran into the living room, so everyone felt ashamed of you.” Despite the fact that, or precisely because, what she said was completely fair, no one answered her, and all four only looked at each other. She lingered in the room with the inkwell in her hand. - And what secrets could there be at your age between Natasha and Boris and between you - they’re all just nonsense! - Well, what do you care, Vera? – Natasha said intercedingly in a quiet voice. She, apparently, was even more kind and affectionate to everyone than always that day. “Very stupid,” said Vera, “I’m ashamed of you.” What kind of secrets?... - Everyone has their own secrets. We won’t touch you and Berg,” Natasha said, getting excited. “I think you won’t touch me,” said Vera, “because there can never be anything bad in my actions.” But I’ll tell mommy how you treat Boris. “Natalya Ilyinishna treats me very well,” said Boris. “I can't complain,” he said. - Leave it, Boris, you are such a diplomat (the word diplomat was in great use among children in the special meaning that they attached to this word); It’s even boring,” Natasha said in an offended, trembling voice. - Why is she pestering me? You will never understand this,” she said, turning to Vera, “because you have never loved anyone; you have no heart, you are only madame de Genlis [Madame Genlis] (this nickname, considered very offensive, was given to Vera by Nikolai), and your first pleasure is to cause trouble for others. “You flirt with Berg as much as you want,” she said quickly. “Yes, I certainly won’t run after a young man in front of the guests...” “Well, I achieved my goal,” Nikolai intervened, “I said unpleasant things to everyone, upset everyone.” Let's go to the nursery. All four, like a frightened flock of birds, got up and left the room. “They told me some troubles, but I didn’t mean anything to anyone,” said Vera. - Madame de Genlis! Madame de Genlis! - Laughing voices said from behind the door. Beautiful Vera, who had such an irritating, unpleasant effect on everyone, smiled and, apparently unaffected by what was said to her, went to the mirror and straightened her scarf and hairstyle. Looking at her beautiful face, she apparently became even colder and calmer. The conversation continued in the living room. - Ah! here,” said the countess, “and in my life tout n’est pas rose.” Don't I see that du train, que nous allons, [not everything is roses. – with our way of life,] our condition will not last long! And all this is the club, and its kindness. We live in the village, do we really relax? Theaters, hunting and God knows what. What can we say about me! Well, how did you arrange it all? I am often amazed at you, Annette, how you, at your age, ride alone in a carriage, to Moscow, to St. Petersburg, to all the ministers, to all the nobility, you know how to get along with everyone, I am surprised! Well, how did it work out? I can't do any of this. - Oh, my soul! - answered Princess Anna Mikhailovna. “God forbid you know how hard it is to remain a widow without support and with a son whom you love to the point of adoration.” “You’ll learn everything,” she continued with some pride. – My process taught me. If I need to see one of these aces, I write a note: “princesse une telle [princess so-and-so] wants to see so-and-so,” and I drive myself in a cab at least two, at least three times, at least four times, until I achieve what I need. I don't care what anyone thinks of me. - Well, well, who did you ask about Borenka? – asked the Countess. - After all, yours is already a guard officer, and Nikolushka is a cadet. There is no one to bother. Who did you ask? - Prince Vasily. He was very nice. Now I agreed to everything, reported to the sovereign,” Princess Anna Mikhailovna said with delight, completely forgetting all the humiliation she went through to achieve her goal. - That he has aged, Prince Vasily? – asked the Countess. – I haven’t seen him since our theaters at the Rumyantsevs’. And I think he forgot about me. “Il me faisait la cour, [He was trailing after me,” the countess recalled with a smile. “Still the same,” answered Anna Mikhailovna, “kind, crumbling.” Les grandeurs ne lui ont pas touriene la tete du tout. [The high position did not turn his head at all.] “I regret that I can do too little for you, dear princess,” he tells me, “order.” No, he is a nice man and a wonderful family member. But you know, Nathalieie, my love for my son. I don't know what I wouldn't do to make him happy. “And my circumstances are so bad,” Anna Mikhailovna continued with sadness and lowering her voice, “so bad that I am now in the most terrible situation. My miserable process is eating up everything I have and is not moving. I don’t have, you can imagine, a la lettre [literally], I don’t have a dime of money, and I don’t know what to outfit Boris with. “She took out a handkerchief and began to cry. “I need five hundred rubles, but I have one twenty-five-ruble note.” I am in this position... My only hope now is Count Kirill Vladimirovich Bezukhov. If he does not want to support his godson - after all, he baptized Borya - and assign him something for his maintenance, then all my troubles will be lost: I will have nothing to outfit him with. The Countess shed tears and silently thought about something. “I often think, maybe this is a sin,” said the princess, “and I often think: Count Kirill Vladimirovich Bezukhoy lives alone... this is a huge fortune... and what does he live for? Life is a burden for him, but Borya is just beginning to live. “He will probably leave something for Boris,” said the countess. - God knows, chere amie! [dear friend!] These rich people and nobles are so selfish. But I’ll still go to him now with Boris and tell him straight out what’s going on. Let them think what they want about me, I really don’t care when my son’s fate depends on it. - The princess stood up. - Now it’s two o’clock, and at four o’clock you have lunch. I'll have time to go. And with the techniques of a St. Petersburg business lady who knows how to use time, Anna Mikhailovna sent for her son and went out into the hall with him. “Farewell, my soul,” she said to the countess, who accompanied her to the door, “wish me success,” she added in a whisper from her son. – Are you visiting Count Kirill Vladimirovich, ma chere? - said the count from the dining room, also going out into the hallway. - If he feels better, invite Pierre to dinner with me. After all, he visited me and danced with the children. Call me by all means, ma chere. Well, let's see how Taras distinguishes himself today. He says that Count Orlov never had such a dinner as we will have. “Mon cher Boris, [Dear Boris,”] said Princess Anna Mikhailovna to her son when Countess Rostova’s carriage, in which they were sitting, drove along the straw-covered street and drove into the wide courtyard of Count Kirill Vladimirovich Bezukhy. “Mon cher Boris,” said the mother, pulling her hand out from under her old coat and with a timid and affectionate movement placing it on her son’s hand, “be gentle, be attentive.” Count Kirill Vladimirovich is still your godfather, and your future fate depends on him. Remember this, mon cher, be as sweet as you know how to be... - If I had known that anything other than humiliation would come of this... - the son answered coldly. “But I promised you and I’m doing this for you.” Despite the fact that someone’s carriage was standing at the entrance, the doorman, looking at the mother and son (who, without ordering to report themselves, directly entered the glass vestibule between two rows of statues in the niches), looking significantly at the old cloak, asked who they wanted whatever, the princesses or the count, and, having learned that the count, said that their Lordships are worse off now and their Lordships do not receive anyone. “We can leave,” the son said in French. - Mon ami! [My friend!] - said the mother in a pleading voice, again touching her son’s hand, as if this touch could calm or excite him. Boris fell silent and, without taking off his overcoat, looked questioningly at his mother. “Darling,” Anna Mikhailovna said in a gentle voice, turning to the doorman, “I know that Count Kirill Vladimirovich is very ill... that’s why I came... I’m a relative... I won’t bother you, dear... But I just need to see Prince Vasily Sergeevich: because he is standing here. Report back, please. The doorman sullenly pulled the string upward and turned away. “Princess Drubetskaya to Prince Vasily Sergeevich,” he shouted to a waiter in stockings, shoes and a tailcoat who had run down from above and was looking out from under the ledge of the stairs. The mother smoothed out the folds of her dyed silk dress, looked into the solid Venetian mirror in the wall and walked briskly up the staircase carpet in her worn-out shoes. “Mon cher, voue m'avez promis, [My friend, you promised me,” she turned again to the Son, exciting him with the touch of her hand. The son, with lowered eyes, calmly followed her. They entered the hall, from which one door led to the chambers allocated to Prince Vasily. While the mother and son, going out into the middle of the room, intended to ask for directions from the old waiter who jumped up at their entrance, a bronze handle turned at one of the doors and Prince Vasily in a velvet fur coat, with one star, in a homely manner, came out, seeing off the handsome black-haired a man. This man was the famous St. Petersburg doctor Lorrain.
A-studio
The history of the A'STUDIO team begins in 1982 in the city of Alma-Ata (now Almaty). A graduate of the conservatory, Baygali Serk:)ev then worked in the Arai group, accompanying the famous Kazakh singer Roza Rymbaeva. “I was in my 20s,” recalls Baigali. “It so happened that all the Araya musicians went their separate ways, and Rosa invited me to form and lead her new group. From the previous lineup, only guitarist Bulat Syzdykov (now the Musicola group) remained. At first I looked at Volodya Miklosic, who was then playing in the group “RKhN” (“Russian, Croatian, German”), he was a Croatian there. I really liked Vova as a musician and a person, we quickly became friends, and I invited him to join the group. Being a member of another group, he refused, but soon RKhN disbanded: the German went to Germany, the Russian singer and composer Andrei Misin went to Moscow, and Miklosic went to work for us. This is how the new “Arai” was formed: keyboardist Baigali Serk:)ev, bassist Vladimir Miklosic, vocalist Nadzhib Vildanov, guitarist Bulat Syzdykov, drummer Sagnay Abdulin, and later they were joined by saxophonist Batyrkhan Shukenov.” Among professionals, new-“Arai” is famous for its instrumental compositions in the jazz-rock style. And already in 1983, without the participation of Roza Rymbaeva, “Aray” became a laureate of the VIII All-Union Competition of Variety Artists in Moscow. Meanwhile, the musicians continue to work with their soloist and jointly release 3 vinyl albums. But in 1987 they went into their own project. A new and already independent group starts under the name “Almaty” and in 1988 releases the 1st vinyl album “The Path Without Stops” (“), after the release of which the name changes to “Almaty Studio”. The group's concert program at that time consisted of songs with elements of new wave and funk and experiments with Kazakh folk melodies. Lucky lottery ticket named "Julia"
In the summer of 1989, the song “Julia” was born (music by B. Serk:)ev and B. Shukenov, lyrics by V. Miklosic), which becomes a lucky “lottery ticket” for the group - it accidentally ends up with Philip Kirkorov, who shows it to Alla Pugacheva.
“Philip said that this song was recorded and given to him by musicians from a tavern,” recalls Baigali Serk:)ev. “But Alla Borisovna replied that such songs are not given as gifts - and wanted to meet us personally. And we learned about this thanks to Vladimir Presnyakov, who came on tour to Alma-Ata.” The meeting takes place in 1989 in Moscow - at which Alla Borisovna immediately invites the musicians to work in her Song Theater. They accept the proposal and change the name to a more laconic one - A'STUDIO. At the “Christmas Meetings” in January 1990, Alla Pugacheva presented A'STUDIO as the best and most stylish group in the country - after this television broadcast, the whole USSR would know about the group. “This was our finest hour!” - recalls Vladimir Miklosic. Associated with this period are the first album “Julia” recorded in Moscow (1990) and the release of the full-length musical film of the same name (1991, directed by A. Berkovich), work at the Song Theater and 3 years of traveling to stadiums and huge venues, where musicians gain experience working on stage next to the prima donna of the Russian stage. Meanwhile, changes in the group are taking place in the composition: having taken up composing activities, vocalist Nadzhib Vildanov leaves the group - and Batyrkhan Shukenov becomes the frontman of A'STUDIO, and Baglan Sadvakasov comes to replace guitarist Bulat Syzdykov. Working “in English”
During their work at the Alla Pugacheva Theater, the A'STUDIO group becomes a regular guest of leading television and radio programs, and tours extensively throughout the country and abroad.
In 1990, A'STUDIO worked in London at the invitation of the English company Polygram in the studio of the famous British producer Greg Walsh and recorded 3 demo tracks in English. The musicians resumed their collaboration with Walsh in 1996 and 1998, inviting him to mix and record the albums “Unloved” and “Sinful Passion.” In May 1992, musicians perform in Dallas (USA) as part of the Kazakh-American festival. In 1993, the group performed at the Rhythm on the River festival in Little Rock (Arkansas, USA) and at the Asian Live Music Exchange festival in Shirataka (Japan). In 1994, at the invitation of pop singer Sergei Krylov, A'STUDIO worked as session musicians on the recording of his new album “Angel412” at the world famous studio “The Hit Factory” in New York. At this time, having accidentally entered one of the Russian restaurants, Baigali Serk:)ev and Murat Nasyrov meet Polina Griffis, who is speaking there, not knowing how this meeting will turn out in the future. From 1994 to 1997, the musicians collaborated with the Soyuz studio and released 4 albums: “Soldier of Love” (1994), a solo concert at the State Central Concert Hall “Russia” “A'STUDIO LIVE” (1995), “Unloved” (1996) and “ The Best" (1997). “We wrote the album “Unloved” together with Greg Walsh,” recalls Vladimir Miklosic. “And then we understood what it means to “work in English.” This means partying all night, and then getting up at eight in the morning and going to work in the studio with a greased head.” In 1997, A'STUDIO celebrated its tenth anniversary with large solo concerts at the Moscow Variety Theater and in its homeland in Almaty. In honor of the anniversary, the album “The Best” is released (on CD and VHS), which includes the best songs over 10 years. The following year, the group breaks the contract with and records a new album, “Sinful Passion,” on the ORT-Records label. For two songs from this album – “Sinful Passion” and “Snow in the Desert” – video clips were shot by directors Mikhail Khleborodov and Anatoly Bersenev, respectively. “To record the album “Sinful Passion,” we again invited Greg Walsh not only to mix, but also to record the tracks,” says Vladimir Miklosic. — It was winter and it was very cold. We brought a “goat” - a heating device with a stretched wire, and Walsh had never seen anything like this in Britain and said: “But this can be very dangerous...”, but then he got used to it and warmed himself next to it. In general, we learned a lot from Greg Walsh, and he learned from us.” In 1999, the A'STUDIO group again took part in Alla Pugacheva's "Christmas Meetings" with the song "Virtual Love", for which a video had already been shot by BS Graphics. Polina Griffis
In the fall of 2000, vocalist and saxophonist Batyrkhan Shukenov left the group.
“We felt that he was up to something, but Batyr assured us that everything was fine and there was nothing to worry about - he was not going to leave,” says Baigali Serk:)ev. - And yet it happened - he went on a solo “voyage”. It was a blow for the group: they stopped inviting us to concerts. To be honest, the existence of A'STUDIO was in question." Going through all sorts of options, Baigali remembers Polina Griffis, whom she met in the USA, and offers to invite her to the group. “So a woman appeared on the ship,” recalls Vladimir Miklosic. “Which fits perfectly into A'STUDIO,” adds Baigali Serk:)ev. “With her arrival, the opportunity arose to work in the genre of dance music, since Polina was aware of the latest trends in club life and moved well on stage.” In November 2001, the group released the album “Takie Dela” and shot new video clips: “Takie Dela” (director - Gleb Orlov, cameraman - Vlad Opelyants) and “SOS” (director - Oleg Gusev, cameraman - Maxim Osadchiy). Over the 3 years of cooperation with Polina Griffis, the group gives concerts not only in the USA, but also in England, Italy, Germany, and also represents Russia in concerts on the FOX KIDS TV channel in Holland. A new stage for A'STUDIO is the next work with the British Greg Walsh, who started promoting the song “SOS”. The composition is remixed by Skylark, Vertigo and other famous DJs in London. By the end of the summer of 2004, their creations, produced by the London record company Ark Records, headed by Greg Walsh, took first place in the charts of leading English club music publications. The song is a huge success in America and Europe. And at this time, Polina Griffis, like Batyrkhan Shukenov in her time, decides to engage in solo work and leaves the group. The dance floors of America and Europe continue to excite the remixes of “SOS”, and the group A’STUDIO, which has turned into a trio (Baygali Serk:)ev, Vladimir Miklosic and Baglan Sadvakasov), overcoming difficulties and disappointments, continues its “path without stopping”, because that’s exactly how it was the name of their first album. In an all-male lineup, the musicians are filming a video clip with director Oleg Gusev for the new song “Night-Girlfriend”, where Baglan Sadvakasov acts as the frontman. The composition becomes popular on Russian radio stations. At the same time, the group is preparing a concert program of the same name, which includes both old hits (“Julia”, “Unloved”, “Snow in the Desert”, “White River” and others) in new arrangements, as well as fresh songs. Keti Topuria, hooligan princess from Tbilisi
In the fall of 2004, a new vocalist, Keti Topuria, joins the group.
“Take care of this girl, she’s a real star,” said Murat Nasyrov about the new A’STUDIO vocalist Keti Topuria. The young and talented Katie bursts into the group like a hurricane: a 17-year-old girl finds herself in a team whose creative experience actually coincides with her age. Before joining A'STUDIO, Keti, who began her singing career at the age of 8, was already quite famous in her homeland. “I lived in Tbilisi and as far as I can remember, I was always the leader: in the kindergarten I played only the main roles. Even though I was a girl, I was a real tomboy,” recalls Keti Topuria. — I also really loved to sing, everywhere. One day I was singing in my yard, right under the windows of a local singing teacher, who heard my voice and called my mother with an offer to let me study vocals.” “At the end of 2004, our friend, the famous Georgian producer Nato Dumbadze, invited us to listen to a disc with Keti’s songs,” recalls Baigali Serk:)ev. “We became interested and, while in Tbilisi, met with her.” Already at the first meeting with the A'STUDIO musicians and the group's concert director Evgeny Seleznev, Keti showed a creative approach to the situation, mixed with childish spontaneity. “We met in a small cozy restaurant,” says Keti, “Baigali was sitting next to me, they brought us Turkish coffee, and I said: “And I can tell fortunes on coffee grounds!” I was joking, of course, because I had never told fortunes in my life. Baigali guessed about my plan and wrote in SMS several facts from Zhenya’s life that I had no way of knowing - for example, that he has a daughter, a wife, what their names are and other secrets. And he put the phone next to me. I looked at him and read. You should have seen how Zhenya’s face gradually became white! He actually believed that I learned all this from the coffee grounds, and even invited me to go with him into another room, where he showed me a photograph of his wife so that I would tell something about her. Then I realized that there was no point in joking, and I said a lot of good things, which, by the way, I was not mistaken about. Zhenya continued to believe in this story literally until recently, when we told him everything.” The presentation of the group’s first album, recorded together with Keti Topuria, “Flying Away”, took place on March 29, 2005. Stylish, light music, beautiful words, fashionable sound and bright performance of the hits “Flying Away”, “Night-Girlfriend” and “You” brought this The record has earned the well-deserved love of both music professionals and ordinary listeners. In the same year, A'STUDIO leader Baigali Serk:)ev, as the author of the words and music of the song “I'm Flying Away,” received the “Song of the Year” prize in the Kremlin from the hands of Alla Borisovna Pugacheva. With this composition, the group soars to the top of the charts of radio stations and television channels in the country, breaking all records for the number of performances on air. The musicians are filming a video of the same name, which is in hot rotation on MTV and Muz-TV. For “Flying Away”, based on the results of voting by Russian television viewers, the group receives 2 Golden Gramophone awards from Russian Radio, and a year later (in 2006) wins the “Best Ringtone” nomination at the RMA MTV Award. At the end of July 2006, the group takes part in the Jurmala festival “New Wave”, where as guests they congratulate the hero of the day, Raymond Pauls, with his song “Fiddler on the Roof”. The joyful summer is cut short by the tragic loss of A'STUDIO guitarist, composer and singer Baglan Sadvakasov, who died in a car accident in August 2006. “We lost our brother, our creative like-minded person, with whom we went through many difficulties, conquered many peaks, like climbers in one team, always feeling the shoulder of a friend...” Baglan’s place in the group is taken by his 17-year-old son Tamerlan, who already in October takes part in the filming of the video “I Still Love...”. Federico
After working in the group for a year, Tamerlan Sadvakasov leaves to study in England.
His place is taken by Fedor "Federico" Dosumov. This wonderful guitarist, who previously played in many jazz projects, appears in the group as unexpectedly as Katie did before. “Since the musicians in A'STUDIO are very good, I joined the team so quickly that I didn’t even notice how it happened,” says Federico. — Before A'STUDIO, I worked with several performers, and it so happened that they invited me to a concert dedicated to the memory of Baga. Then we played a few more shows and recorded guitar tracks for the new album. They began to invite me more and more often. I remember how the guys said in one of their interviews that I was the band’s new guitarist. That’s how I found out that I was now working in the A’STUDIO group.” At the presentation of the album “905” Federico shows the full range of his performing skills. A'STUDIO musicians say about him this way: “Someone is born with a shirt, but Federico was born with a guitar.” With his arrival, the band's sound becomes even more guitar-based. “Nine zero five”
The eighth numbered album of the group A’STUDIO, called “905”, is published by Veter Entertainment (formerly “Prof-Music”), which also released the previous disc “Flying Away”.
The number “905” is significant for A`STUDIO: many important events for the group take place on the street of 1905. Here, at the Cinema on Krasnaya Presnya, the first rehearsal base was located, where the musicians recorded the album “Sinful Passion”. In Krasnopresnensky Park, the musicians walked with Alla Pugacheva and discussed future creative plans. Here, in Baigali Serk:)ev’s home studio, the album “Such Things” and the single “SOS” were recorded. In addition, the studio where A`STUDIO created two albums is located across the street from the Ulitsa 1905 Goda metro station. “Our studio at 1905 Street is our Abbey Road,” explains Baigali. “Here we experienced the brightest days of our lives, joys and sorrows, meetings and partings.” In the new album, the musicians go for a genre experiment. So, along with the already traditional compositions in the styles of dance and pop (“Goddess Of The Dance Floor”, “Coat”), the disc includes tracks in the styles new to A’STUDIO orient (“Heart between two fires”) and R’n 'B ("Love covers"). In addition, the band members themselves note that the sound of their songs has recently become heavier and, in connection with this, the number of compositions in the rock ballad styles (“Angel”, “Still Love”, “Why?”) and pop is increasing. rock (“Running to you”). The new record includes songs with completely different moods: gypsy motifs in “Heart Between Two Fires”, childish spontaneity in the composition “Coat”, light sadness in the rock ballad “Angel”, dedicated to the tragically deceased A’STUDIO guitarist Baglan Sadvakasov, who wrote the melody of this song. “In the album “905” we used all 20 years of experience in musical creativity within the framework of A'STUDIO,” says Baigali Serk:)ev. – The record turned out to be completely diverse in mood: there is the sun of Miami, nostalgic sadness, and a little hooliganism, which we serve as dessert. We can say that the first part carries a semantic load, the second is created for entertainment. So the album will have something to listen to both musical gourmets and youth audiences.” “The bright guitar accent gave the new songs of A`STUDIO additional “muscle”, and the vocals of the new frontwoman simply fit perfectly into the competently weighted sound,” Ilya Legostaev, the author of the “Sound Track” of the newspaper “MK”, assessed the release. The presentation of the new album, which the team has been working on for two years, takes place on May 29 at the GQ Bar club. On the filled VIP balcony of the club there are “stars” of Russian show business and politics: the prima donna of the Russian pop scene Alla Pugacheva, Dima Bilan, Valery Meladze, Dmitry Malikov, Vlad Topalov, as well as Vladimir Presnyakov Jr. with Natalia Podolskaya, Anita Tsoi, Karina Koks, Jasmine, Arkady Ukupnik, producer Joseph Prigozhin, group UMA2RMAH and many others. “You know very well what A’STUDIO means to me, I adore them,” says Alla Pugacheva. - This is a whole planet. They have no competitors." During the presentation, the video clips “Running to You” and “I Still Love You” are broadcast on the monitors; at the press conference, the band members’ clothes are decorated with red “905” embroidery, and journalists vying with each other to ask about the meaning of the album’s name, the change in sound to a more “guitar” one, and possible involvement of the foreign singer Pink in the creation of the composition “Running to You”. The celebrity guests who came this evening to congratulate A'STUDIO on the release of their new record admire the music and willingly share their impressions. “I have a long-term friendship with the A’STUDIO group,” says Valery Meladze, who presented Katie with a gorgeous bouquet of flowers. – There is no more humane and soulful group than A'STUDIO. They were always “on the crest of the wave” - both in fashion and in music. They are always interesting and relevant. During the presentation of the album “905,” in addition to new hits, A’STUDIO performed the composition “Guli Gepereboda” (“Your Heart Caressed”) in Georgian, the native language of the group’s lead singer, Keti Topuria. Dima Bilan, at the entrance to the club, admits to journalists that he is not indifferent to the A'STUDIO vocalist. “I go to a presentation with a vested interest in hearing a new song, and even a red light won’t stop me,” he says, clearly alluding to the “running to you at a red light” refrain. “And I like Katie as a girl!” In September 2007, the group filmed the “Angel” video. The director of the video is Alexander Igudin, the cameraman is Alexey Stepanov. In October, A`STUDIO becomes the winner of the MTV Russia Music Awards in the “Best Group” category. In addition, the musicians are among the contenders in three more MTV RMA nominations. The track “I Still Love” from A`STUDIO’s new album “905” was nominated for the title of “Best Composition”, the video for the same song was nominated as “Best Video”, in addition, A`STUDIO was nominated in the category “Best Artist”. The crystal matryoshka - a symbol of victory - was handed to the musicians by broad-shouldered fighters of the anti-terrorist group "Alpha" immediately after the quartet's performance on the stage of the Ice Palace, which caused a standing ovation even in the VIP stand. “A`STUDIO are one of the most musically gifted people who make high-quality music and never slack on stage,” says singer Zhanna Friske, a guest at the MTV RMA ceremony. “These are people who work from the heart, it’s clear that they were simply born to make music.” “Total”
In November 2007, A`STUDIO celebrated its 20th anniversary by staging the “Total” show at the State Kremlin Palace.
For the first time, vocalists from different years appeared on the same stage: ex-members of the group Batyrkhan Shukenov and Polina Griffis sang together with Keti Topuria. Starting with the song “Julia”, met by applause of the hall, the group played almost three dozen compositions, presenting not only gold hits, but also songs from the new album “905”. A surprise for the audience was the performance of folk songs: Batyr performed the Kazakh, and Keti - Georgian to the accompaniment of the royal of Baigali Serk :) Eve. In the final of the show, Batyr, Polina and Keti performed popular songs together: “Remember this”, “Night-girl” and “White River”. “We brought the“ Total ”line,” says Baigali Serk :) Ev. “All viewers were able to see how our music is changing over the years: from jazz-rock and Fanku through electron-dance tracks to the current more severe sound.” To achieve a high-quality “lively” sound in the A`Studio Kremlin, their composition intensified: the percussionist Ilya Pokrovsky and the guitarist Sergey Kumin, as well as the BEK vocalist trio (Anna Abramochkina, Sergey Kranova, Natalya Naskova) and the chamber string orchestra, entered the stage. The old friend of A`studio Andrei Kosinsky conducted. The sound producer of the concert was the old friend of the group - the Englishman Greg Walsh, who collaborated with Tina Turner and Pink Floyd. He was helped by sound engineers Ilya Khmyz and Konstantin Rezanov. The Todes ballet also took part in the concert, and GOGO dancers worked to create a club atmosphere on special cabinets. Everything that was happening broadcast on huge screens installed on the stage. In addition, 9 television cameras were filmed - the anniversary of the A`Studio group will be shown one of the federal television channels, and then they will release DVD in a new HD format that provides high -clay video. “On their anniversary A`Studio, several stereotypes accepted against large Kremlin concerts were broken at once. The musicians not only played entirely live, but also did without the participation of guests invited, ”writes Boris Barabanov, the observer of the Kommersant newspaper. “It turns out that a large concert with television can be pulled on itself one group.” Especially for the anniversary of A`Studio and the Veter Entertainment label, in November 2007, they released the XX CD, which includes 20 Golden Hits, as well as the Total DVD with a full collection of clips and archival video materials from private collection of musicians . In May, the group made its fans a special gift-the Total MP3-Disk, which included all A`studio albums and previously not published compositions. “heart to heart”
in March 2008 with a duet with the group “Otte scammers” The song “Heart to Heart”.
Paradoxically, for the entire long history of the group’s existence, this is the first joint work of A'Sstudio with “colleagues in the workshop”. “We like the music of“ plundered scammers ”, so we decided to work together, despite the general duration of the country,” comments Baigali Serk :) Ev. - For the first time, Keti performs in an unusual role for himself - fragmentarily performs a melodic rap. The composition contains Russian scumbag, and hip-hop, and r'n'b, and guitar inserts-it turned out a pretty, eclectic thing. ” Soon in the city of Tashkent, a clip is shot on the composition “heart to heart”. In the center of the film history were the soloist of the A'Studio group Keti Topuria and the “scammer” Sergey Amoralov, between whom, according to the script, true love capable of losing his mind and, at the same time, cure madness. According to the plan of the director of the Bachorn of Yuldashev (who worked with many Ukrainian, Kazakh and Russian artists, including Reflex groups, “Dances minus” and “dynamite”), the musicians of both groups fall into the labyrinth with many rooms, simultaneously resembling prison chambers and the chambers of a psychiatric hospital . For this, special scenery were built at the Uzbekfilm film studio. The labyrinth becomes a real trap for the heroes, to find a way out of which Amoralov is helped by his feelings for Keti. In search of love and freedom, Sergey had to fulfill two complex stunt stunts, run away from service Doberman and enter into a fight with the guards. A difficult story has a very romantic ending: Amoralov saves his beloved passionate kiss. “The song“ heart to heart ”is especially dear to us,” says Sergey Amoralov, “we immediately realized that this is a duet composition, and for a very long time looking for a team that could reveal its lyrical potential. We are very grateful to the A'studio group, which supported the idea of a duet, Keti personally - for the vocals and baigali Serk :) Eve for arrangement. " AFTER
-PARTY contest "New Wave" in Jurmala Baigali Serk :) Ev celebrated his double anniversary-his birthday and the 25th anniversary of creative activity.
“Baigali is a legend man,” said Vladimir Mikloshich, a bass player of A'Studio about the anniversary. - A talented musician, a wonderful producer and a great friend! He has already achieved a lot, but I am sure that the most important achievements are still ahead. Baigali is the most important whale on which our group holds! ” His friends of artists came to congratulate the A'Sstudio leader, who climbed the stage, in order to present A'Studio to the anniversary of his own interpretation as an exclusive gift. The first participants in A'Sstudio, accompanied by the group “Odty Fraudsters” and Timur Rodriguez, during whose joint performance the unique mix: the composition “Stop Night” smoothly moved into the hit of “Love me, love”. The next was Nikolai Baskov, who performed the song “Soldier of Love”. The musical gift of Larisa Valley was the composition “I still love”, performed by a singer in a jazz interpretation. By the middle of the holiday, the hall was covered with “snow in the desert” performed by Valery Meladze. In fact, it was the duet of the artist and guitarist A'Sstudio Fedor “Federico” by Dosumov, who struck all the guitar solo in the best traditions of Carlos Santana. Then, “plundered scammers” broke on the stage again: the musicians performed a joint hit “to heart” with A'Studio. “I sincerely congratulate Baigali on the fiftieth anniversary! - said a longtime friend and colleague in the musical shop Leonid Agutin. - I am glad, and, thank God, I am far from the only one that such a person, such a musician exists in our space. This is our cultural acquisition. God grant him health and joy in this life, as well as success in all endeavors. " The birthday person decided to thank the guests with a return gift - during the evening, a special collection of songs of Baigali Serk :) was played in various competitions in various competitions. The double disk, released by a limited circulation, included songs written by the leader of A'studio at different stages of the creative path. Among them are compositions created by the hero of the day specifically for the A'Sstudio group, Christina Orbakaite, Abraham Russo and other popular performers. The main guest of the evening was Alla Pugacheva, for whom Baigali saved a special gift-the leader of A'Sstudio presented Primadonna with a rare vinyl record released in Sweden together with the ABBA producer in the early 80s. “Autumn draws”
in November 2008 in the Mir short circuit, large solo concerts “Autumn draws” were held, where over the course of three concert days, two -hour live performances with an extended composition of musicians gathered full halls.
The name of the program was given by a line from the song "Autumn", which was performed by former soloist Batyrkhan Shukenov in A'Studio. “I know all the songs of A'studio from and to, literally every word and every chord,” the leader of the “Hands Up” group, Sergei Zhukov, admitted after the performance. - Moreover, A'studio is one of the few groups in which I honestly stole all kinds of ideas - took every chord on piano and tried to play like a baigali. All my first musical attempts are a jazz-rock education A'studio. The concerts have passed are another evidence that for success the group does not need to let people dust in the eyes, but you just need to go out, sit down for tools and do what they can. ” The A'Sstudio was successfully received by their musician friends, among whom Alexander Panayotov, Irina Toneva and the group “Odty scammers” who performed a duet with A'Sstudio a joint hit “Heart to Heart”. [edit] “Star Band” MTV at the MTV Russia Music Awards 2008 ceremony in November, A'Sstudio, among the best artists of Russia, who performed the main hits of the last decade in honor of the Russian anniversary of the Russian MTV. As part of the star band, who opened the main musical ceremony of the year, the soloist Keti Topuria sang the famous UMA2RMAH group, and the song A'Studio “fly away”, which became a real folk hit, was represented in the original interpretation of Alexander Marshal. Ovation
in December 2008 became a laureate of the XVII National Russian Musical Prize "Ovation" in the nomination "Popular Music".
At the official ceremony of the art festival for 2007, which was held in the Svetlanov Hall of the International House of Music, A'Sstudio performed the song “Nature has no bad weather” from the famous movie “Service Roman”. The figurine depicting a couple of applaising hands the group was awarded the famous music critic Arthur Gasparyan and the chief director of the GCZ “Russia” Valery Jacques. “This is our first“ Ovation ”, commented by the bass player A'Sstudio Vladimir Mikloshich. - For the artist, the most important thing is the recognition of the viewer - applause or, in other words, ovation. On the one hand, this award is an official assessment of our work by professionals, and on the other, a visual demonstration of the love of the public. Therefore, it is doubly nice to get it. ” “Just like everyone else”
in March 2009 A'Studio performed in the largest Moscow club “B1 Maximum”, where she presented a new composition “Just like everyone else”, a cover version of Alla Pugacheva’s famous “Song about me”.
In this way, the musicians decided to express their respect for the great singer and congratulate her on the upcoming anniversary. “Song about me” is one of my most beloved compositions by Alla Borisovna. Honestly, I would never have thought that such an unusual video can be shot on it, ”says Baigali Serk :) Ev. - The clip turned out to be moderately abstract: a little mystical, with a share of surrealism. I think this is due to the fact that I completely changed the arrangement - the composition has become more fatal, corresponding to the rigid rhythm of today's life. ” The shooting took place in Tashkent - the director, operator and author of the script of the video was the Bacciner Yuldashev, who had already worked with the group on the video “Heart to Heart”. In the new video, A'studio appears to the audience in two different images. On the one hand, these are abrasion glam-roles in fashionable designer costumes with a cecum Topuria in vicious and sexual soloist in the skin. And on the other, the image is radically different, more calm and romantic: musicians in stylish costumes, and Keti in a light gentle dress. According to the plot of the A'Sstudio video, they fall into the labyrinth, where, wandering along the white walls, they witnessed how black creatures who have lost the human appearance are blindly surrendered to the power of vices and atrocities. So in one of the scenes, the musicians face violence - fights, shooting, murders, then observe the scene of group sex, and after that they plunge into the atmosphere of everyday life of modern office plankton, where the employee is instantly replaced by a new one. Meanwhile, the labyrinth himself is just a toy in the hands of a little girl. The culmination of the video clip is the moment when the “lord of the Labyrinth World” unfolds the conveyor of life back. Batyr Shukenov is the first soloist of the Polina Griffis group tragically killed in 2006, the composer, guitarist and soloist of the Baglan Sadvakasov group Baglan Sadvakasov, Tamerlan. He collaborated with the group in 2007, after the death of Father Keti Topuria, the current soloist of the group just a few minutes ago accidentally stumbled upon the first channel and watched the program “Let them talk” about the A-Studio group, and decided to make a post about them.
