Alexander was born in Moscow. Nevsky is a pseudonym. At school, Sasha Kuritsyn (the actor’s real name) was called nothing more than “wet chicken.” And it’s not just the last name: the lanky and thin guy couldn’t do even one pull-up on the horizontal bar. At 15 years old, the teenager was almost 2 meters tall and weighed only 60 kg. Out of pity, the physical education teacher gave him a C in the subject.

Sasha was an excellent student, read the classics, dreamed of entering the Institute of Management and read poetry to girls. But the fair sex did not like the refined romantic, and the boys mocked him. The guy grew up without a father, and his mother didn’t know how to teach her son to fight back against bullies. It was decided to enroll the young man in a boxing school, but the training was not successful until Sasha saw a photograph of Arnold Schwarzenegger in a magazine.

The tanned and muscular American actor impressed Alexander so much that he decided to become the same. Sasha traded his boxing gloves along with his textbooks for the gym.

The guy was so carried away by training that he failed the entrance exams to the institute. The next year, Alexander entered, but his priority remained sport. He participated in all kinds of fitness and bodybuilding competitions, seizing on the slightest opportunity to express himself.

In 1997, the bodybuilder wrote his first book, “How to become Schwarzenegger in Russia.” For the next 2 years, he tried his hand at television: he was a co-author and TV presenter of the programs “Good Morning”, “Party Zone” and “Under 16 and Over”. In addition, his series of bodybuilding video tutorials were broadcast on air. The Russian hero also made his film debut, playing a cameo role in Eldar Ryazanov’s film “Quiet Whirlpools.”

By his example, he inspired many Russians to lead a healthy lifestyle and engage in bodybuilding.

He was an Expert on the physical education of children and adolescents at the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, and is currently an Advisor to the Governor of the Tula Region on physical culture and sports. Conducted hundreds of free fitness seminars and attracted the attention of the general public to the problem of anabolic steroids.
