Survival kit: what to put in a bride's purse

The closer the wedding day gets, the more brides realize that at a significant moment in life it is important not to forget to take with them not only the groom, bridesmaids and wedding dress, but also a lot of other things! And if the essentials, such as lip gloss and napkins, can be hidden in an exquisite wedding clutch, then what to do with everything else? The best way out is to put all the little things in the handbag of a responsible bridesmaid, who will not forget to take it with her, will certainly be next to you all the time and will save you from unnecessary hassle.

The most indispensable:

  • a mobile phone with a list of numbers of the organizers and all contractors, as well as an installed navigator (especially if the celebration is planned outside the city and there is a possibility that guests will check the address and location of the site). It would also be a good idea “just in case” to duplicate all phone numbers in a notebook, including the restaurant, immediate family and wedding specialists;
  • phone chargers that will keep you busy all day!;
  • spare batteries;
  • cash for unforeseen circumstances, for example, for additional services, as well as envelopes for settlements with contractors (if this issue is not handled by one of the newlyweds’ relatives or a wedding agency);
  • newlyweds' passports and wedding rings.

Wedding first aid kit:

  • tablets for headaches (analgin, panadol, citramon, solpadeine);
  • tablets for indigestion (activated carbon, smecta, mezim);
  • lozenges for sore throat (strepsils, septolete, faringosept);
  • allergy tablets (diazolin, loratadine, tavegil, claritin);
  • validol, painkillers, as well as patches and intimate hygiene products.

Chechen wedding: bride, Come to the corner, quickly!

The groom's brother takes the bride into the house and puts her in the most honorable place - in the corner! Yes, this is where she will spend her most important day in her life.

In order for a son to be born first in the family, a boy is brought to the bride, she takes him in her arms, pats his cheeks, kisses him and lets him go, rewarding him with a gift or money.

The Chechen bride stands with her head down in the corner of the room.

The feast begins, everyone congratulates the groom's parents, wishes for more grandchildren and all sorts of blessings in general. Everyone comes to a Chechen wedding - no invitations. As soon as the bride enters the house, dancing begins.

But here, too, everything is not so simple. The improvised dance floor is divided into two parts: a semicircle for men, a semicircle for women. A couple dances in the center, chosen by a man who takes on the role of “dance toastmaster.”

Chechen bride in a dance circle

A Chechen bride stands modestly in a dance circle.

All this time, the bride stands like a statue in the corner: she is not allowed to sit in the presence of her elders. Women come up to her and look under the veil. After some time, the groom's mother raises her veil. Next to the bride is a bridesmaid who is allowed to sit and eat. After some time, she is given a gift and taken home.

National weddings are famous for their traditions, and here the next test for the bride is the ritual of “untying the tongue.” The men approach the girl, bombard her with jokes and ask the bride to bring her water. She must break for a long time and be laconic.

The stingy “enjoy your drink” is the loosening of the tongue. For this, the man must give the bride money, otherwise she may not talk to him for the rest of her days (I must say that such cases do happen). In the end, the girl collects a decent amount of money, which she, as a rule, gives to her mother-in-law.

Wedding fun in Chechnya lasts up to three days.

Bride's cosmetic bag:

  • the necessary minimum to correct wedding makeup (powder, lipstick or lip gloss, concealer, mascara and eyeliner, compact mirror, mini bottle of perfume);
  • comb, super-strong hairspray, hairpins and bobby pins to fix your hair;
  • hand cream (if it’s cold outside and the bride has sensitive skin on her hands);
  • disposable handkerchiefs in large quantities in case of tears of happiness, wet wipes;
  • manicure scissors, nail file.

On your marks! Attention! March!

After the bride is ready, the groom's brother goes after her, takes her hand and leads her out of the room. But it was not there! The bride's sister is blocking his way, so he has to pay him off! That's it - the road is clear! The brother takes the bride out of the house, sits in the front seat, and the groom's girlfriend and sister sit in the car with her.

A Chechen bride is taken out of her home.

The motorcade starts moving - and then the racing begins! Each of the numerous cars tries to take a place behind the bride's car. This is both prestigious and profitable - an expensive prize awaits such reckless people in the groom’s house: for example, a carpet or a separate table of honor.

But don’t speed up too much: at any moment, adults or children may block the road, demanding payment for the journey. After all, a Chechen wedding is a holiday for everyone!

The groom's mother meets the bride at the house, helps her get out of the car and gives her a bite of candy or some other sweet, then takes a bite herself. At this moment, shots and even machine gun fire are heard. This kind of recklessness has now turned into real fun.

In fact, initially loud sounds were used to scare away evil spirits from the house, but previously it was enough to fire a couple of shots.

SOS kit:

  • needle and thread in the color of the wedding dress, as well as the groom’s suit;
  • pins (not a single bride is immune from the fact that someone will step on the train of her dress, and then she will have to eliminate traces of the “accident”);
  • transparent nail polish (you should use it if an arrow appears on your tights or if the rhinestones on your dress have come off);
  • a spare pair of tights or stockings (especially important if the bride chose a short wedding dress);
  • antistatic (if the dress “sticks” strongly to the tights)
  • extra stain remover;
  • ballet flats or other removable shoes for the bride;
  • chewing gum;
  • a bottle of still mineral water;
  • if necessary, an umbrella and a shoe sponge.

The bride's magic suitcase or What to take to a wedding?

Let's reveal the secret! A bride cannot go to her own wedding without a small suitcase. No, it does not complement her image. Its place is behind the scenes: in the trunk of a car, a hotel room or a separate room in a restaurant. It is one of the keys to peace of mind, because in it you can find everything that will help the bride out in an unforeseen situation.

Photo: Wedding planning agency “Extraordinary Stories” And many such situations can arise: a headache, a flounce on a dress has come off, lipstick has rubbed off, the wind has knocked a strand out of your hair, it has started to rain, your shoes have rubbed, it has become cool.
To the question “Who is to blame?” — it doesn’t even make sense to answer, but “What should I do?” we'll tell you. So, let’s complete the magic suitcase:

1. Phone charger.

You can’t go anywhere without it, and your wedding day is no exception.

2. First aid kit.

You should definitely have headache tablets, activated carbon, a sedative, and a bactericidal patch on a flesh-colored fabric base. If you are taking medications prescribed by a doctor at the time of your wedding, be sure to take them with you.

3. Cosmetic bag.

Don’t take your entire arsenal of brushes with you, but be sure to put a mirror, lipstick in the same tone as the one you will be wearing on your wedding day, and powder in your cosmetic bag, because you will have to “powder your nose” several times during the wedding day, especially if the weather is hot.

And not just one, but three types: wet, dry and mattifying for makeup that will certainly need to be touched up.

5. Deodorant.

Be sure to bring deodorant with you. It is best if it is a roll-on or dry antiperspirant without a strong odor.

6. Perfume.

Let your favorite scent be with you. It can be reapplied before the ceremony.

With the help of this duet, you can fix your hair yourself after a photo shoot or dancing. Plus, your fiancé may need to comb his hair after an outdoor excursion.

8. A bottle of water.

Don't forget about water. Let her be near. It doesn’t matter whether it’s hot outside or not, a sip of clean water will help you refresh, calm down, and you’ll have something to wash down your pill at any time.

9. Chewing gum, tick-tock or mouth freshener.

You may or may not have a snack at the photo shoot, but when you want to freshen your breath, keep menthol pads on hand.

10. Umbrella.

If the weather forecast is not good, take an umbrella with you in white, black, transparent, or in the color of the wedding.

Photo: Photographer Maria Stupina 11. Personal hygiene products.
If the wedding falls on critical days, do not forget to put tampons or pads in your suitcase.

12. Spare stockings or tights.

Lines in stockings are common. And although they may not be noticeable under a long dress, you should not get married in torn things. Be sure to put a spare pair of nude tights or stockings in your suitcase. You never know, maybe you won’t help yourself, but your mother.

13. Ballet shoes or other comfortable shoes.

Replaceable shoes with low speed are a real salvation during a photo shoot or in the midst of a festive evening. Ballet flats or moccasins are comfortable for long walks and dancing. In them, your feet can simply rest after wearing new pumps.

Photo: Kateshy 14. Nail scissors.
Has a thread come loose from a seam on a shirt or the hem of a dress, or has a nail broken? With the help of scissors this can be quickly fixed.

15. Thread and needle.

They will help you out if something minor happens to the groom’s dress or jacket - a wave or bead comes off, a button falls off.

16. French pin.

Let it be with you, if not on the inside of your dress, then definitely in your suitcase.

17. Stole or blouse.

If the weather is changeable and you know you might feel uncomfortable in an open dress, bring something to wear over your shoulders.

Photo: Photographer Sofia Shmigalskaya Here is a basic set of a magic suitcase for a wedding.
Its content, of course, can be adjusted. It’s not a fact that you will need all this at the holiday. It may very well be that the magic suitcase will be opened only for a bottle of water and powder, but it won’t hurt to have it with you. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Dear wedding industry specialists, if you want to share your professional experience and knowledge with Bride.info readers, send proposals marked “I want to become an author” to Thank you! ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
