Design career

After the collapse of the USSR, Razumikhina’s career began to decline. At that time, many talented people found themselves unemployed, and Andrei Smolyakov’s wife was no exception. In search of income, she had to go to hot spots.

So, having visited one of these places, she met a journalist from Britain and married him. The couple went to London for permanent residence. The girl could not sit still, so she began to look for a new activity.

Note: Daria Razumikhina has a unique and special sense of style. She has always been drawn to the world of fashion, so it is not surprising that she decided to pursue a career at Saint Martins College.

Razumikhina had to go through a series of tests to enter the design institute. The girl was excellent at drawing sketches of outfits and coping with sewing. She had professional training that allowed her to become a sought-after designer.

Daria Razumikhina is considered the first Russian fashion designer to take part in shows at world fashion weeks in Paris, Tokyo and Milan

Developing in her chosen path, Daria ended up in an article in the popular Vogue magazine. Her contact information was published there, allowing customers to contact the designer. One of these calls changed the girl’s life.

A woman called Daria and said that she had a team of seamstresses who could sew Razumikhina’s creations and organize a fashion show. So in 1999, the first collection of fashion designer Daria Razumikhina was released. The auction room was rented from a friend's father.

As payment, he demanded only a box of champagne. Razumikhina's first work caused a sensation and many positive reviews from fashion designers, designers and critics. The order not only paid off, but also brought good income to the designer.

Daria's original style is very easy to recognize. She skillfully combines Russian and oriental images, creating romantic and unique items of clothing. Razumikhin was invited to work at the large Moscow factory “Red Rose”.

She took the position of chief artist at the company. The girl purchased fabrics and tried with all her might to bring the factory out of bankruptcy. Razumikhin was invited to work in Holland, France and Japan.

Daria's special style was noticed by Nadezhda Babkina, who really wanted the girl to design costumes for her performances. Recently, Razumikhina developed a new hobby. The girl bought a communal apartment, which she turned into a museum.

In the apartment-museum you can find many books, various fabrics, accessories and Russian spinning wheels.

Apartment of Daria Razumikhina

Several years ago, a significant expansion of the living space was required, and in order to avoid traveling to different places, it was decided to combine an apartment, a workshop and an exhibition space in one room. After looking through many offers, we settled on an old house. The area was not chosen by chance. Daria was born and raised on Staraya Basmannaya Street. Here she found a suitable building, bought the former apartment building and resettled all the residents. The pre-revolutionary building with a second passage and long corridors was ideally suited to the ethnic style of her works.

The owner is a supporter of inexpensive materials and furniture. The main thing is that the apartment has zest and individuality. Regular parquet was laid on the floor and wallpaper on the walls. Throughout the design of the apartment there is a lot of wood, natural and natural materials. There are no empty or boring places; every corner holds a piece of history.

Above the front door hangs an Indian cloth, which is used in marriage ceremonies in India. One of the walls in the living room is hung with all kinds of fabrics and decorated with shelves on which there are hats and other objects and decorations.

Another wall displays Kuna textiles and Mialu jewelry. All things are united according to a single geographical principle and often these exhibitions change depending on what part of the world the owners of the house are in. So, above the sofa in the living room hangs an embroidery brought by Andrei Smolyakov from Indonesia, where he starred in one of the films, and on the sofa itself lies ikat from the island of Sumba.

The TV sits on a red chest of drawers made by Anastasia Nemolyaeva, and next to it is an antique mirror with a wooden frame, designed by her. This setting goes perfectly with the sarees on the windows and the cowhide on the parquet floors. The hostess painted the chairs in different colors and decorated them with abacus, Chinese silk and original balls. The central part of the room is occupied by a coffee table, on which a considerable number of souvenirs, ritual knives and rarities found at a French flea market are collected.

There is a workshop and a library in the house, one of the walls of which is completely lined with bookshelves. There are colorful carpets on the floor, and costumes and antique household items are hung on the other side.

Even in the kitchen, where several washing machines are installed, we managed to create an original space. Wooden carved furniture looks perfect against the background of a log wall in the style of old huts. A small sofa was installed next to the kitchen table for relaxation.

Daria considers the entire interior to be beloved and alive, but Andrey considers the bedroom one of his favorite places. He likes the painted Indian carpets and the fact that she managed to organize a fairly spacious wardrobe compartment with a screen. The bathroom is decorated in Gaudí style: one wall is tiled with broken tiles in black, yellow, white and pink, and the other with solid tiles in the same tones.

According to CIAN, apartments on Staraya Basmannaya cost from 10 to 130 million rubles and more.
