Childhood and youth

Evgeniy Viktorovich Levchenko was born on January 2, 1978 in the village of Konstantinovka, Donetsk region, into an ordinary family. Already in childhood, the boy’s parents realized that playing sports was an opportunity for him to realize his vigorous energy. At school, Zhenya constantly received comments from teachers in his diary for restlessness.

The boy attended various sections, but his love arose specifically for football. Perhaps due to the fact that Evgeniy’s father is a fan of this game. It was dad who bought the first ball and brought it to the children’s training. A passion for football at a young age led Levchenko to a sports boarding school in Donetsk. At the end of the 1993/1994 season, he first appeared on the field as part of the Metallurg team from Konstantinovka.

Moving up the football ladder

But no matter how his football career developed, Evgeniy Levchenko never gave up and always strived upward. After some time, Utrecht and Heracles began to be interested in the young football player, but Zhenya gave his choice to the Sparta team. Despite the fact that the club played in the second line of the division, the team always strived for maximum results and took off in friendly matches. The management of Groningen liked Evgeniy’s confident play, and already in the summer of 2005 he was included in this team.

Football

In 1996 he was invited to Moscow, spent the first half of the season in the CSKA reserve team, and in the summer he went to the Netherlands. There he first plays for the Helmond team, then moves to the more famous Vitesse. The latter was one of the leaders of Dutch football in those years.

For some time, the player was loaned to the Kambur club, where Levchenko had constant playing practice. Frequent appearances on the field helped make his name recognizable. Evgeniy played as a midfielder; the athlete’s height was 188 cm and his weight was 85 kg.

His football career was not easy: the talented Levchenko was not recognized in his native country for a long time. But thanks to his strong character and patience, Evgeniy still achieved athletic growth. On November 20, 2002, the Ukrainian national team accepted him into its ranks: the footballer took the field in a match against the Slovak team.

In 2005, Evgeniy signed a contract with the Dutch club Groningen, where the midfielder demonstrated brilliant play for several years. In 2009, the contract expired, and Levchenko, as a free agent, signed a new one with Saturn near Moscow. Evgeniy’s transition to the team did not happen without a scandal.

The brother of the RFPL president, Andrei Pryadkin, volunteered to help the footballer arrange the signing of the contract. OJSC Saturn transferred $400 thousand for “services in searching for a football player” and signing an agreement with Levchenko. Evgeniy did not know about the payment; according to him, the salary at Saturn was less than this amount.

In December 2011, Evgeniy turned to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne with a request to consider a case of conflict of interest in the work of RFPL President Sergei Pryadkin. In January 2013, the RFU Ethics Committee, which was tasked with investigating the case, found no signs of a conflict of interest in the president’s activities. The case was closed.

Levchenko still considered the results of the trial a victory. According to him, Evgeniy helped make the football market more transparent, clubs stopped transferring agent money to the accounts of shell companies.

The last club for Levchenko was the Australian Adelaide United, whose contract lasted from 2011 to 2012. To date, Evgeniy has completed professional performances. During his career, the athlete participated in 303 official matches, 8 of which he played for the Ukrainian national team, and scored 40 goals in total.

Personal life

Evgeniy Levchenko is known not only as a football player. In 2013, he became the first hero of the show “The Bachelor” on TNT. He went to the project in search of a girl who would give him comfort, warmth and children. As a result, the famous athlete found his soul mate: in the final he chose creative producer Olesya Ermakova. Parents supported their son's choice.

The young man planned to take his chosen one to Holland, where he lived and worked. But the relationship did not last long; 9 months after the end of the show, Evgeniy Levchenko wrote on his Facebook page that they had broken up. The reason for the gap was distance and constant employment. The girl refused to move from Russia.

Even before the project, Levchenko dated the Dutch TV presenter and actress with Ukrainian roots Victoria Koblenko for five years. The couple lived together, information appeared in the media that Eugene offered to marry his beloved, but she chose a career in Hollywood over marriage. A long-distance relationship was the reason for breaking up with her.

Some time after the breakup with Olesya Ermakova, it became known that Evgeniy Levchenko and Victoria Koblenko were together again. In the summer of 2021, the hero of the first season of the show “The Bachelor” became a father. Evgeniy posted a joyful post on his Instagram account on behalf of the newborn, whom his parents named Kiy. Fans suggest that the boy was named in honor of the founder of Kyiv, the capital of the native country for the child’s mother and father.

Fashion plays an important role in his personal life: Evgeniy has good taste and is interested in trends. In 2009, Esquire recognized Levchenko as the most stylish football player in Holland. The athlete loves to participate in photo shoots; he appeared bare-chested on the cover of Men's Health.

Evgeniy Levchenko is known for his charitable activities in Ukraine and Holland. In 2012, he sponsored the book “Goleadors,” authored by sports journalist Viktor Khokhlyuk. The proceeds from sales were transferred to the Breath International Children's Fund.

In 2015, Eugene published a biographical book “LEV” in Dutch, the author of the work is Iris Koppe. The book is about the life path of a football player, about difficulties and fun moments. At the presentation, Levchenko said that he was proud of the release of the biography.

Today Evgeniy, Victoria and Kiy live in Amsterdam. They travel a lot, post photos from different countries on social networks. At the beginning of 2021, Evgeniy celebrated his 40th birthday in Israel: a beach holiday was planned, but the weather let him down.

Recently, Levchenko, in an interview, commented on the refusal of some Ukrainian journalists to watch the 2018 World Cup matches because of the location of the competition. The athlete said that he does not like hypocrites and a professional must be aware of all events, regardless of where they occur.

Unhappy ending

The romantic relationship between Ermakova and Levchenko was going well up to a certain point. When it came time to move in together, things slowed down a bit. The famous football player admitted to such events in an interview with Katya Osadchaya. “We tried to build a relationship, and at first everything was great. But there comes a moment when the realization comes that the distance still makes itself felt,” said Evgeniy Levchenko.

As it turned out, Olesya was comfortable living in Moscow, she had her own business there and she did not want to leave it. Zhenya was used to living abroad and had no intention of moving to the territory of the Russian Federation. Conversations about living together began almost immediately after the project, but everything was somehow postponed. And when the issue became an issue, the couple decided that it was better for them to separate. Information about the end of the relationship between the star couple appeared recently.

Scandals involving Savin

In the summer of 2021, Channel One invited Evgeniy as a correspondent to cover the World Cup matches. His work at the game between Russia and Uruguay raised a lot of questions among fans. His role as a commentator was, to put it mildly, not very professional: the man behaved too emotionally and demonstrated excessive patriotism.

In August of the same year, Savin took part in the filming of the scandalous program “Stars under Hypnosis” on Channel One. Many, not unreasonably, considered what was happening on the program to be staged. The show itself was often called a circus and obscurantism.

Eugene was allegedly first hypnotized and then plunged into an ice bath. Subsequently, he admitted that participation in the “Stars under Hypnosis” project was an extremely bad experience for him in terms of reputation.

In August 2021, Savin started a YouTube channel “KraSava”, dedicated to football, mainly Russian.

According to Evgeniy, Yuri Dud advised him to come to YouTube. Their acquaintance took place long before the story of the “Cult Tour” program. Dud interviewed Savin after Guus Hiddink called Evgeni to the national team. Then the journalist and the football player began to communicate and subsequently became friends.

As Savin said in an interview, the blog was born within nine months. At the same time, the channel quickly gained popularity. Today it has about 750 thousand subscribers. As a rule, Evgeniy’s videos receive more than a million views.

Victoria Koblenko, like Evgeniy, was born in Ukraine, in the city of Vinnitsa. Her childhood was like that of ordinary children. But when she was 12 years old, her family moved to Holland. She had to get used to a new life and new friends, and also had to overcome the language barrier. The girl coped with this perfectly.

Victoria has developed a kind of hobby. She began to study languages. First she mastered Dutch, and then took up English, German and French.

While still a schoolgirl, she attracted the attention of directors. Because of her spontaneity and relaxedness, the girl received many offers to appear in advertising. And that was just the beginning. Next came filming, including starring roles.
