The future artist was born in 1946 on January 15. The girl’s hometown is Leningrad, and Tanya’s earliest childhood memories are associated with the post-war revival of the Northern capital. Bronzova has always been a responsible child, so after graduating from school, she decided to get a “serious” education: so, she became a student at the Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute (“Korabelki”).
In parallel with her studies, the girl managed to take an active part in student activities. Tatyana could be seen not only on stage in amateur performances, but also at auctions of the Soyuzpushniny trust (one could say that the girl was the face of this organization). In addition, Bronzova was an active Komsomol member and worked in the Komsomol Committee of the city of Leningrad.
Having received a diploma from the institute in 1968, the girl realized that she did not want to be an engineer at all. So, Tatyana radically changed her destiny: she went to Moscow, where she became a student at the Moscow Art Theater School. From that moment on, her life will be inextricably linked with acting.
Having received a diploma from the studio school in 1972, the actress joined the Moscow Art Theater troupe, where she served until 2001. When the Moscow Art Theater split in 1987, Bronzova remained to work at the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov, directed by Oleg Efremov.
In the early 90s, Tatyana Vasilievna was appointed head of the theater troupe. In addition, the woman began to write books and film scripts. For example, Bronzova is the screenwriter of the TV series “Detectives” and the film “Love Story or New Year’s Prank.”
Since the actress was mainly focused on the theater, she rarely acted in films. In total, Bronze has eleven film roles, mostly minor ones. One can note the artist’s work in such films as: “Much Ado About Nothing” (1973), “Day by Day” (1975), “Three Sisters” (1981), “The Prince and the Pauper” (1983) .).

Tatyana Bronzova with her husband
While a student at the studio school, the girl met her second husband, Boris Shcherbakov. The young man was also from Leningrad: women always liked him, knew how to impress and look after beautifully. Soon a romance began between Boris and Tatyana. Mutual feelings were not hindered even by the fact that Bronzova was a little older than her chosen one. Then Tanya filed for divorce from her first husband and in 1972 married Shcherbakov. An interesting fact is that by the time of the wedding, the actors had already been together for 3 years, but since only a married couple could be given a dorm room from the theater, Tatyana and Boris hastened to formalize the relationship.
In 1977, the couple had a son, Vasily. Having matured, the young man entered Moscow State University, choosing a legal specialty for himself. In addition, the guy studied French not only in Moscow, but also at the Sorbonne. In 2006, the heir to Bronze and Shcherbakova graduated from the directing department of VGIK.

A woman has always had the wisdom to forgive her husband’s numerous infidelities. For example, the romance between Boris Shcherbakov and actress Lyudmila Nikolskaya was high-profile. According to rumors, at that time Tatyana even had thoughts of committing suicide. The theater management and the artist’s colleagues intervened in the situation, and in the end, he returned to the family.
According to Tatyana Vasilievna herself, she always tried to hold on for the sake of her son Vasya. And although Shcherbakov had many affairs on the side, he always returned to his wife and son.
However, Bronzova herself was also credited with a romantic relationship with the artistic director of the Moscow Art Theater Oleg Efremov. The woman was considered the last muse of the famous artist and it was said that it was not without reason that he appointed Tatyana to manage the theater troupe. Tatyana Vasilievna herself treats this kind of gossip with understanding: after all, the fate of an actor requires increased attention to the personal lives of artists. Bronzova and Efremov were indeed friendly, but there could be no talk of any closer relationship.
In 2006, the woman was given a terrible diagnosis. Her husband, his care and support helped her cope with cancer.
Despite not all the difficulties they have experienced, Bronzova and Shcherbakov are still together. They continue to work on new projects: Boris acts in films, and Tatyana writes books (new for 2021 is her book “Two Olga Chekhovs. Two Fates”).
The couple also continues to support their beloved and only son, director Vasily Shcherbakov, in everything.
Personal life
Although Tatyana Bronzova and Boris Shcherbakov are connected by sincere mutual love, as evidenced by their joint photos, it is difficult to call this marriage ideal. The young actors got married in 1972, having been together for three years by that time. Oddly enough, one of the reasons for the wedding was the housing issue: the hostel was only available to family actors of the Moscow Art Theater.

It got to the point that the management and the entire theater staff intervened. There were various rumors, it was said that Tatyana almost committed suicide, although the actress herself categorically denies this.
