Childhood and youth

On January 4, 1955, the deputy director of the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys, Valentin Kolesnikov, and his wife, enrichment engineer Maria, had a third son, who was named Sergei. Parents vigilantly ensured that each of the three children did not wander around and do something.

The head of the family, noticing that Seryozha was showing genuine interest in the illusory world of sounds, bought his beloved child a guitar for 7 rubles 50 kopecks. It is worth noting that guitars were an unaffordable luxury at that time. While local guys were constructing homemade instruments from scrap materials, which, as a rule, were impossible to play, Kolesnikov enjoyed all the delights of professionally tuned equipment.

After mastering a couple of chords, the active boy began to masterfully perform the melodies of popular compositions at that time, becoming the local “Minister of Culture.” Both adults and children loved to gather in the yard in the evenings and listen to how the talented Seryozha recited Mayakovsky's poems to the tunes of guitar.

Sergei Kolesnikov in his youth

During his school years, Kolesnikov was a typical slob who preferred walks through abandoned construction sites to studies and diligent study. The actor himself, in conversations with journalists, has repeatedly stated: if not for his desire for amateur performances and participation in all concerts and matinees, he would never have been able to obtain a certificate of secondary education. From the biography of the master of reincarnation it is known that Sergei also has a higher education. Kolesnikov graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School in 1978 (course of S. Pilyavskaya and V. Bogomolov), which he entered only on the second attempt.

In 2006, the management of Channel One invited the master of transformation to work on a new promising project. For six years, Kolesnikov hosted the “Hacienda” program, helping gardeners and summer residents equip their country houses. During this time, 250 issues with the actor’s participation were published. In 2012, Roman Budnikov became the new host of the program, and Sergei plunged headlong into filming series.

Career

After receiving his diploma, Sergei remained in his native Moscow Art Theater, where he made his debut as a student, playing a small role as a street musician in the play “The Life of Galileo.” The performance turned out to be successful, and they began to entrust him with more serious work. He was mainly involved in the classical repertoire of the theater.

He worked at the Moscow Art Theater until 2011. Since 1992 he has occasionally acted as a screenwriter and director. His debut work was the play “Unexpected Joy”, for which he wrote not only a play, but also poetry and music. The work was very warmly received by the audience and colleagues.

The reason for his dismissal from the theater was his rapidly growing career in television and cinema. Having noticed Sergei at one of the performances, the management of Channel One approached him with an unusual offer - to become the host of a television program for summer residents “Fazenda”. Sergei liked the idea, and he set to work with enthusiasm.

It is interesting that Sergei himself was so carried away by the process that he began to delve into all the details of the “dacha business” with genuine interest - from planting gardens to building houses. This was immediately noticed by the audience, and the program’s ratings began to grow rapidly.

And Sergei himself gained popularity and audience love. He was the permanent presenter of “Fazenda” for six years, during which he released 250 programs.

He made his film debut during his student years, and began immediately with the leading role. He played a principled newlywed who, together with his young wife, left to conquer the vastness of Siberia. The melodrama was mediocre, but Sergei’s work was appreciated by professionals, and he began to receive new offers.

Over the next few years, he regularly appears in small episodes, as he is busy in theatrical productions. But in 1985, in the film “The Man with the Accordion,” he again got one of the main roles - this time as the groom of the heroine, who again met her first love right at the wedding.

But Sergei’s real fame came from his leading role in the TV series “Little Things in Life,” where he found himself the hero of a love triangle. His wife, with whom they lived for almost 20 years and raised an adult daughter, met a famous couturier. He began to persistently court the young woman, and she was torn between her family and new feelings.

This was the first full-fledged Russian series, which was watched with no less interest than before - Brazilian soap operas. It featured popularly beloved actors Alexander Lazarev and Maria Zubareva. Work on the series took several years, during which 74 episodes were filmed.

Kolesnikov’s success was cemented by the role of an investigator in “St. Petersburg Mysteries,” which he played simply brilliantly and was very memorable to the audience. From this moment on, Kolesnikov begins to work closely in TV series, and sometimes manages to do several projects at the same time. It is not surprising that there was simply no time or energy left for theater rehearsals.

Now Kolesnikov is one of the most sought-after actors in Russian cinema. His filmography includes more than 30 films. Since 1996, he has also been actively involved in dubbing. The favorite characters of many foreign films speak in his voice, including the Martian from the science-fiction film of the same name.

Movies

Sergei began acting in films in 1976. Then the film directed by Georgy Mikhailovich Kuznetsov “Only Together” was released on the big screens. In the film, the plot of which was based on the story of the Soviet writer Anatoly Samuilovich Tobolyak “The Story of One Love,” Kolesnikov got the main role.

According to the actor himself, he planned to refuse the offer in favor of filming the “Hacienda” program. The artist was also embarrassed by the fact that he had not seen a single film from this series.

The world premiere of the film took place in 2013. This was followed by filming in the series “Secrets of the Institute of Noble Maidens.” The work immerses the viewer in the times of the most important historical events of the 19th century (the abolition of serfdom, the war between Russia and the Ottoman Empire), which in one way or another affected the fate of Russian noblewomen who studied at a privileged educational institution.

Unprepared for the routine realities of family life, the young people soon divorced. The actor met his second wife while a student at the Moscow Art Theater School. This marriage also did not stand the test of time.

Sergei Kolesnikov and wife Maria

Kolesnikov’s current wife, Maria Velikanova, is an artist who works in television and film. In 1981, the woman gave her husband a son, Alexander, and three years later gave birth to Ivan. At 62, the actor is already a grandfather twice over. The eminent artist has two granddaughters growing up - Avdotya (born in 2006) and Vera (born in 2013).

Childhood

This is now the once quiet and picturesque village of Moskvorechye, where Sergei was actually born, and has officially become part of the capital. And then it was the Moscow region, which still retained traces of provincial life, in which life flowed calmly and measuredly.

Sergei's parents were very simple people who worked hard, loved each other and dreamed of a daughter. But they had boys. And when the third, Sergei, was born, they decided to come to terms with the fact that they would not see their daughter, although they were upset about this.

In young age

However, they had no other reasons to be disappointed in their son. The boy grew up very lively, sociable and did well at school. And in the yard he was simply the life of the party. Moreover, even in elementary school he became interested in music. All day long he strummed homemade guitars with friends until his parents gave him a wonderful gift - they bought the cheapest but real instrument.

The boys nicknamed him “Minister of Culture,” since in their village having your own instrument was considered a great luxury. And he sang street songs to them, and in the evenings he recited poetry. Later, Sergei began performing at school parties and concerts, always with great success.

An English teacher noticed his artistic abilities. He called Sergei for a conversation and advised him to try to enter the theater. Sergei was surprised - he had never even thought about connecting his life with acting. But his parents also supported this idea and decided that he should try.

So after receiving his certificate, Sergei went straight to the Moscow Art Theater School, where most of his favorite actors graduated. But it turned out that he was completely unprepared for the creative competition. And the first attempt failed.

Sergei went to work and entered the preparatory department, but decided for himself that if he was not accepted again, then acting was not for him. But this time everything worked out well.
