Flowers are given as an addition to the main gift, and according to ancient tradition, a bouquet of flowers is thrown by the bride.
The wealth of shapes, colors and plants given to us by nature allows us to realize the craziest and most unusual ideas.
Handmade decorations for the wedding procession
In order for your cortege to look sophisticated and elegant, you should adhere to moderation. Just a few compositions of ribbons attached to the hood are enough. Organizing and holding a wedding celebration requires considerable financial costs. To save money, you can try making decorations for your car yourself. This will not only reduce the cost of the wedding, but also add uniqueness and originality to the decor. Coping with this task is quite simple.

To decorate your car you will need:
- double sided tape;
- satin and plastic ribbons;
- organza;
- flowers (can be fresh, but better made with your own hands from ribbons);
- wedding rings;
- balloons;
- dolls or figurines;
- original license plate;
- decorative mesh used in flower shops.
Remember that the wedding cortege should be in harmony with the color scheme of the celebration, the decor of the car should contrast with the car - we use bright and dark colors for light ones, and vice versa. Traditional dolls are already going out of fashion; motorcades are becoming more and more common, captivating the eyes of passers-by with their originality. Several examples in the photo.
Peculiarities
Most professionals recommend choosing a bridal bouquet before decorating the hall with fresh flowers. It is these flowers that will set the tone for all other elements of the floral decor. The shape, color, size, and components of a wedding bouquet are extremely important for creating a harmonious, unified floral style that will decorate the hall.
When decorating a room, florists use several options for placing compositions.
- Decorative – in this option, smooth, round shapes and neat cascades are welcomed. Flowers are placed in low containers or trays. They are located mainly on tables and walls;
- Parallel - flowers are displayed in clear rows. Only one type of plant is displayed in one row. The shades of flowers are strictly selected so that the entire row looks harmonious;
- Vegetative - in addition to flowers, it allows the use of all living things - berries, fruits, vegetables, tree branches, stones, grass, etc.;
- Form – arches, columns, and railings in the room are decorated with floral arrangements. If there are none, or not enough, artificial structures decorated with flowers are created;
- Linear - floor compositions are used with the obligatory emphasis on one central element.

Wedding origami made of paper
According to Japanese customs, decorations in the form of origami cranes signify prosperity and happiness for the newlyweds.
That is why many decide to use such decorations for decoration. In addition, origami will be able to impress guests. To create them you will not need large financial investments, since all the necessary materials are inexpensive.
The created origami can be combined into an oblong garland and hung in a photo zone for guests. If the ceremony will be held outdoors, then you can use paper products to decorate the tent or tree branches.
The decorations can also be used for a photo shoot.
The procedure for creating origami consists of the following steps:
A square base is made. A sheet of paper is placed with the colored side up, folded diagonally and then straightened back out.- The sheet is turned over and folded in half in two directions, after which it is straightened.
- Using the folds that formed during the straightening process, assembly is carried out. The three top points are brought together to the bottom corner, the sides are folded inward. The result is a square base.
- The right and left corners are folded towards the center and then straightened.
- A fold is also made for the top corner. Triangle lines should form in the center.
- The resulting valve opens. The right and left sides are bent inward along the lines, the top edge is bent.
- The figure is turned over and the procedure from point 6 is performed.
- The left and right corners are folded towards the center.
- The corners are also bent on the other side. The result should be a diamond-shaped figure.
- The left and right sides are slightly bent.
- Next, along the folds, the bent sides are folded inward.
- One of the sides is folded, resulting in a head, after which the leaves are folded. The origami crane is ready.
Decorating the room
Absolutely any room is suitable for decorating with fresh flowers; the main thing is to correctly calculate the required number of flower arrangements and distribute them correctly.
The combination of color design of the entire room and floral installations is also important.
To create all sorts of compositions, roses, calla lilies, chrysanthemums, gerberas, hydrangeas, lilies and a wide variety of greenery are most often used, emphasizing the delicate color of the inflorescences (ruscus, ivy, fern, etc.).
Where is it appropriate to use artificial flowers?
Wedding floristry from artificial plants provides an excellent opportunity to create long-lasting compositions and use them several times. The advantage of such decoration is saving money and time, since you do not need to spend precious hours before the wedding searching for fresh buds or worrying about their safety. It is better to decorate the banquet hall with artificial flowers a few days before the wedding celebration, and you can easily buy them in advance in any specialized online store.
The bride's double bouquet, which she will throw to her bridesmaids, is also best created from artificial flowers. This way, the girl who catches the symbol of imminent marriage will keep it for a long time. Some newlyweds choose to make both bridal bouquets artificial to achieve the perfect match with their dress or hairstyle, or to preserve the accessory for many years after the wedding.
What else to use
In addition to fresh flowers, wedding floristry uses many other “living” gifts from Mother Nature.
Sometimes the most unusual things are used: vines, cones, all kinds of berries, fruits and vegetables (very important for themed and village weddings), tree branches, spruce paws (why not an option for a winter wedding?), willow, straw, physalis and ikebana from autumn leaves.
During the harvest season, a variety of fruits are used. Not only decorations are cut out of them, but also interesting containers for placing flower arrangements; they are used instead of invitations and as one of the components of multi-level compositions.
Containers with sprouted grass and moss are used as decoration. Various decorations made from moss look great, for example, the initials of the newlyweds, or large letters for a photo shoot.
All these options will be especially relevant in the fall or winter, when a large number of flowers becomes an unaffordable pleasure. Proper decoration of the wedding hall with fresh flowers in combination with several of the above elements will not only save money, but also create an exclusive design.
Colored weddings
In modern weddings, it has become fashionable to decorate the event in one color scheme. A colorful wedding theme creates the individuality of the celebration and enhances its beauty. A wedding in green and emerald, in violet and lilac, a wedding in blue and light blue (you can find plant options for this style in the article “Blue flowers in a bouquet”), in coral and in fuchsia will be unique for each couple. Weddings in red will be incredibly bright and beautiful.

Let's take a closer look at some of the color schemes that wedding floristry includes. Photo examples of design are presented under each type.
Pink color
Youth, tenderness, lightness and sophistication are inherent in the color pink. This color is ideal for young girls' weddings. There are many shades of pink that can make your wedding event both romantic and creative.
Soft pink shades are chosen by modest natures; such a wedding becomes classic. Confident girls choose bright pink shades and fuchsia weddings; such an event becomes bohemian.
A pink wedding can be held both in the hall and outdoors. Decorative items and fresh flowers help decorate the room in pink. The main wedding compositions of flowers in pink shades are placed on the tables of the guests and the podium. Carnations, gerberas, hyacinths, lilies, peonies, roses and tulips are popular at weddings.
In nature, a banquet tent is decorated with fabrics and garlands of flowers. For a destination wedding, a flower arch is created. The passage to the wedding arch is decorated with flowerpots and rose petals.
And the bride’s festive look can be decorated with fresh flowers. You can wear an orchid in your hair or wear a floral wreath.
Marsala color
Marsala is the color of the Sicilian wine of the same name, having a noble burgundy-terracotta hue. This wine color is suitable for any wedding ceremony.
A Marsala wedding is a wedding filled with sophistication and luxury. This burgundy-brown color goes well with white, green, coral, blue and brown shades.
Marsala color is beautiful in the images of the bride and groom. The bouquet and boutonniere will look great in this color.
When decorating a wedding in the burgundy color of Marsala, florists use flowers such as astilbe, dahlias, orchids, peonies, ranunculus, roses, and tulips. Floral arrangements are combined with various wine-colored accessories.
This color is especially popular in autumn weddings. Berries in the shade of brown burgundy are added to the bouquets, which add a special zest to the composition.
Tiffany color
The delicate greenish-blue color of the famous jewelry company, which became popular thanks to the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” is often used by florists when decorating various celebrations. This soft color scheme creates a romantic mood that is typical for couples in love at a wedding.
A Tiffany wedding is an elegant, glamorous wedding in shades of mint and turquoise. The wedding is decorated with many accessories that emphasize the elegance of the celebration and the beauty of the bride.
In floristry, not many flowers repeat the light shade of turquoise. Blue bindweed, hydrangeas, and meconopsis are used for bouquets. Orchids, roses and chrysanthemums are given the necessary color.
A mint-turquoise wedding can also be decorated with white flowers. The white bouquet is decorated with elements such as beads, cameos, crystals, lace, and ribbons. Each composition reflects Tiffany's color and style.
Golden color
Luxury and wealth, confidence and well-being - all this is demonstrated by a wedding in gold. Golden shades have a rich palette, so it is important to combine them with other colors so that the glamor of the wedding does not turn into bad taste. In combination with white, beige, pink and chocolate, gold looks advantageous.
To decorate a wedding with fresh flowers, plants in white, cream, and peach colors are most often chosen, complementing them with gilded dried flowers, pine cones, berries and decorations. Bouquets are made in a round shape or in a cascade. Flowers look beautiful in golden baskets on tables.
Particular attention in floristry is paid to the bride's bouquet. If the bride's dress is white, then the bouquet is made gold, using gerberas, callas, roses, orchids, and chrysanthemums in the desired shades. If the bride's dress is champagne or ivory, then the floral arrangement is made up of white and beige flowers interspersed with gold in the form of leaves, berries and sparkles on the petals.
Adviсe
Carefully consider the placement of flower arrangements so that when finished they do not interfere with the communication of guests at the table and free movement around the room. In such a situation, making a plan helps a lot.
Try not to crowd tables with bouquets. Ideally, one composition for every 1.5-2 meters is enough. If the tables are set in the European style - separately for several people each, then one bouquet will be enough for such a table. Combine fresh flowers and textiles; together they look very impressive.
If you want a lot of flowers, but there is no way to decorate the room with fresh flowers, ask your guests to give you flowers of certain shades. Before the banquet, they can be placed in prepared containers and complemented with such compositions as the main decor.
Korean bouquet wrapping technique
The Korean style in the design of bouquets involves multi-level and multi-texture through the use of materials of different density and color. A bouquet packed using Asian technology looks more attractive and more expensive than the classic version. A video with florist Victoria Lavrentieva demonstrates step-by-step the Korean technique: choosing flowers, composing a composition, preparing and arranging materials. What flowers should I choose for my wedding? Live or artificial?
Undoubtedly, fresh flowers are a priority in wedding decor, but their use is not always rational. And here the question is not only about the budget for floral decoration of the wedding, but sometimes it also depends on weather conditions, because not all flowers are ready to survive the whole day under the scorching summer sun.
Therefore, today decorators very often offer to use artificial (decorative) luxury flowers in wedding decorations. Such flowers cannot be distinguished by appearance or touch by the common man at first sight.
And in this article we will take a closer look at the use of decorative flowers.
Here I would like to note that decorative flowers come in different qualities, which can affect the final cost of the finished composition. It is important to remember that when using artificial flowers, the quality of the flower and its price are directly proportional, because a cheap flower will not look good! For example, these can be the simplest fabric flowers, silk, silicone, and recently this type of decorative flowers, such as Real Touch, has been widely used.
