Childhood and youth
The future spouses met on the set of the drama “To the End of the World...”. According to one version, Vera Glagoleva, who accidentally ended up at Mosfilm with her friend, was noticed by the film’s cameraman. According to another, the director Rodion Nakhapetov himself saw in the buffet, who had been looking for a “spiritual, devoted, good provincial girl” for the main role for a long time.
A 17-year-old girl, who was making serious progress in sports and did not think of becoming an artist, agreed to play along with the actor who was pretending to play Volodya. Maria Nakhapetova and Anna Nakhapetova in childhood with their father Rodion Nakhapetov.
Two children were born in the marriage. Anya was born on October 14, 1978, Masha on June 28 of the 1980 Olympics. The father adored his daughters, but the mother was distinguished by severity and restraint in emotions.
“She never praised us. Moreover, she doesn’t praise us even now. And, probably, the time comes when you no longer expect it. A mother who comes up, hugs, kisses, and says: “How I love you!” “We’ve never had anything like this,” Anna said in 2016.
Maria then added that the parent was busy all the time and disappeared at work, so grandmother Galina Naumovna was responsible for raising her granddaughters. The actress herself called herself a “calm mother and grandmother”:
“I can’t say that I’m a crazy grandmother, just like my mother. I am a normal person and a realist, and I will not shout at every corner that my grandchildren are the best and most beautiful. I advised my daughters to read Benjamin Spock’s book more carefully, where they can find answers to any questions about raising a child.”
Despite the apparent idyll, the star couple broke up in the late 80s. The man, at the invitation of a friend, moved to the United States, where he met Natalya Shlyapnikoff, and remained for permanent residence. Soon the star of “Marry the Captain” settled down into a personal life with businessman Kirill Shubsky. On November 16, 1993, the couple welcomed the heiress Nastya, the current wife of hockey player Alexander Ovechkin.
Her three daughters came to the premiere of the film about Vera Glagoleva
How wonderful they are - beautiful, friendly, welcoming. Vera’s grandchildren came, her husband Kirill Shubsky, actor Alexander Baluev, Anna Terekhova, whose mother, Margarita Terekhova, starred in Glagoleva’s debut film “Broken Light.” It was filmed in 1990, at the same time it participated in several festivals, but did not reach the audience due to problems with the producer. Only ten years later he accidentally ended up with Vera. Even those who once criticized it admitted that now it is a unique document of time - or rather, timelessness, when hundreds of creative people turned out to be of no use to anyone. Sergei Kuryokhin, Andrei Sokolov, Svetlana Smirnova, Sergei Bekhterev and Viktor Sukhorukov, Vera herself in the title role along with Grigory Gladiy, who left for Canada long ago - they are all so young on the screen. In the foyer of Vera Glagoleva’s daughter, they organized an exhibition of photographs from different years - in life and on the site.
Anna Nakhapetova says: “We all came together to thank the audience for their love for our mother, for the memory of her. The place of our meeting was not accidental: it was at the House of Cinema that my mother often visited. Here were her premieres, here we said goodbye to her. When a person dies, he does not disappear without a trace. Everything he loved and touched becomes a continuation of his life. The soul is where it felt good on earth. Today we feel more than ever that our mother is next to us.”

That same evening, the premiere of the documentary film “Vera Glagoleva. Unbroken Light”, filmed for the anniversary by Egor Puzanov, who worked with her as an editing director. The film was created at the studio of Natalia Ivanova, Vera Glagoleva’s friend and producer.
“Vera and I made four paintings,” recalls Natalya. “All the films she made were about different women’s destinies. She succeeded in them because she was a very subtle and sensitive person. I miss Vera very much. She was original, original, unique, in tune with the times, which is why she often played contemporaries. At night I watched our film “No Strangers”. Memories immediately came flooding back. I couldn’t calm down until five in the morning. When we were filming the documentary, the main task was to make sure that there was as much Vera in it as possible, so that we would see enough of her and talk to her. “I am very grateful to Vera’s daughters, her husband Kirill, and Sasha Baluev, who became her mascot, for their participation in the film.”

In the documentary, Rodion Nakhapetov, who discovered Vera Glagoleva as an actress, became her husband, and the father of her two daughters, recalls how he first saw and then, like Pygmalion, sculpted his Galatea. At Mikhalkov’s “Slave of Love,” where he starred, he and Vera got married. Now he says about the breakup: “Not everything worked out the way we wanted.”
Kirill Shubsky first drew attention to his future wife in the film “Marrying a Captain” by Vitaly Melnikov, and they met in Odessa, at the “Golden Duke” festival. “Girl Summer” is what photographer Valery Plotnikov called Vera. And Alexander Baluev, before the show, told us what an amazing person she was, first of all, and her uniqueness in cinema was that she didn’t play anything, but seemed to enter the screen from life. He called her "the people's artist of our lives."
Vera Glagoleva lived in recent years as if she had no illness. The wedding of her youngest daughter Anastasia Shubskaya and the famous hockey player Alexander Ovechkin had just taken place, where Vera danced so passionately. But the disease progressed, the end was near.
No one really knew where Vera was, where she was treated. They said that in Germany, but a little earlier her brother died of cancer there, and she fought for life in Italy. In the spring, I filmed the Russian part of my latest film, “Not Strangers.” There was work to be done in Kazakhstan. During the break I wanted to take care of my health. But the dream of the film “Two Women” with Ralph Fiennes did not leave me. After the anniversary evening, relatives recalled how Vera went to the Ivanovo Film Festival to meet her favorite actor and persuade him to act in film. I was waiting for Fiennes to be free. And when he found a “window” in his busy schedule, she had to undergo examination in Italy. Shubsky convinced that life was more important than cinema, but she thought differently - and chose to film. She asked her colleague Nikolai Lebedev to finish “Two Women” if something suddenly happened to her, but he didn’t even understand why she started talking about it. For many, her illness was a mystery. Vera called herself the Phoenix bird because she knew how to rise from the ashes. After filming Two Women, she felt much better.

When she and her husband went to Italy, where their whole family was supposed to gather, Vera felt bad. Anastasia Shubskaya and Alexander Ovechkin drove up to the house and were surprised that the gates were open. At this time, an ambulance was already there. The Italian doctors, who do not allow anyone into the hospital to see their patients, retreated here - they allowed their daughters to be present in the ward, but strictly one at a time. So they replaced each other, like staunch soldiers.
When their mother passed away, they came up with a monument to her that resembled her favorite greenhouse, built for the filming of Two Women. This snow-white structure was erected at the Troekurovsky cemetery. There was also room in it for a chair - the same one in which Fiennes was sitting.
Personal life
For the first time, Maria married an American entrepreneur, a native of the Soviet Union, who owned his own photography studio. Unfortunately, the relationship between the spouses soon deteriorated and a divorce followed.
After an unsuccessful attempt to build a family, Nakhapetova returned to Russia, where in Moscow she became the wife of a businessman named Dzyura. On September 19, 2007, the couple accepted congratulations on the birth of their first child, Kirill, and on March 6, 2013, they rejoiced at the birth of their youngest son, Miron. Now the boys are studying at the Zhukovka gymnasium, delighting their father and mother with their success at school.

In 2020, again participating in the latest competitions, he demonstrated good knowledge in the field of history. His brother then distinguished himself in the category “His Majesty Space” at a creative review dedicated to Cosmonautics Day.
The parents made sure that the children had already visited Italy, Germany, Turkey, Mexico, the Maldives and Cuba. Adults try to instill in them a love of sports - horse riding and, thanks to Alexander Ovechkin, of course, hockey.
Creation
Each of Vera Glagoleva’s daughters, despite different interests, starred in films.

Model Anastasia Shubskaya, who studied to become a producer at VGIK, appeared in the melodrama “Ferris Wheel,” received the main role in “Ca-de-bo” and appeared in the series “A Woman Wants to Know...”.

Maria Nakhapetova with her sons
Maria only went on the set for the only time, reincarnating as Tatyana Mikhailovna Ogunova in her father’s thriller “Contagion.” But her main passion since childhood was fine art. From an early age, the girl diligently attended a special studio at the Pushkin Museum and an art school.
Subsequently, she graduated from the relevant department of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography named after Sergei Gerasimov. And at the Gnomon visual effects school in Hollywood, she acquired knowledge in the field of design, animation and computer graphics. For some time the woman was engaged in book design, and then took up painting.
Anastasia Shubskaya now
At the beginning of the summer of 2021, Anastasia stopped hiding her protruding belly, and when her husband’s team won the Stanley Cup, she “declassified” her pregnancy. This is the first child for both Nastya and the hockey player. Pregnant Anastasia Shubskaya On August 18, the couple became parents of a boy. Anastasia and her husband decided not to advertise their son’s name for now.
Vera Glagoleva was only 61 years old when she died of stomach cancer, despite the efforts of doctors who fought for her life. Two years have passed, but time does not heal, and everyone who knew the actress is as hard as on the fateful day of her death.
The beloved artist will forever live in the memory of her family, friends and fans, who watch her films with longing and admiration. And, of course, Vera Vitalievna is still alive on camera: in films and in photographs. StarHit collected 40 rare photographs of the departed star, reflecting her creative path.
Vera Glagoleva, who had just graduated from school, was engaged in archery and did not think about an acting career. By chance, the athlete ended up on the set of Mosfilm: the cameraman of the film “To the End of the World...” noticed her and asked her to play along with the candidate who came to audition. Glagoleva’s naturalness in the frame so impressed director Rodion Nakhapetov that he did not want to consider other candidates for the role of Sima. The girl’s fate took a sharp turn - she not only became a movie star, but also married Nakhapetov.
The young artist was talked about in creative circles, noting her incredible combination of fragility and amazing energy. It didn't take long for the directors to be invited. In the film “On Thursday and Never Again,” Glagoleva appeared in front of the camera completely different from the determined heroine of the debut film: blonde hair, a timid smile, a frozen expression of suffering from unrequited love. Such an actress will subsequently be remembered by loved ones whose lives she changed.
Before her death, Vera Glagoleva sent a letter to her friend
Each subsequent role revealed the facets of the actress’s talent in a new way. For the sake of the painting “About You,” Vera Vitalievna dyed her light brown hair blond. This was necessary to visually demonstrate the purity of the singing girl she played. The next character, Shura from the military drama “Torpedo Bombers,” was confidently called Glagoleva’s best work by critics.
She increasingly starred in melodramas. In the film “Forgive Us, First Love,” Vera played the role of Lena, who found herself in the center of a love triangle. And Glagoleva gained widespread popularity after participating in the film “Marry the Captain,” in which Viktor Proskurin became her partner. It was then that the Soviet Screen magazine recognized the leading actress as the best actress of 1986. The star’s success strengthened after the film “Sincerely Yours...” by Alla Surikova: the artist shone in a variety of images, changing hairstyles and outfits, and her colleagues were Vitaly Solomin, Leonid Kuravlev and Rolan Bykov.
A new chapter in the artist’s life began in 1989, when her husband went to work in the USA, and ended up staying there for permanent residence, having an affair with producer Natalya Shlyapnikoff. Vera Vitalievna hid how difficult the divorce was for her. For the sake of their common children, the former spouses managed to maintain friendly relations. “I have never heard my mother say anything nasty about my father,” Glagoleva’s daughter Anna shared in the documentary “Russian in the City of Angels.”
In the shared photographs, time stood still: the family was still together, not separated by kilometers or betrayal.
The ex-husband of Vera Glagoleva spoke about the divorce and the reasons for moving to the USA
After a difficult divorce, Vera Glagoleva continued to live. Plunging into creativity, she not only acted a lot, but also made her debut as a director. Her film “Broken Light” is dedicated to the fate of artists of past years. Soon everything worked out on the love front: at a film festival in Odessa, the artist met businessman Kirill Shubsky, who became her second husband and father of her youngest daughter Anastasia.
Despite the crisis in the country, in the 90s Vera Vitalievna did not remain without work; on the contrary, demand increased, she was offered leading roles: in the films “The Executor of the Sentence,” “Oysters from Lausanne,” “Night of Questions...”. She also played Glagoleva in the cult film of that time - “Poor Sasha”.
Over the years, Glagoleva’s role changed: she began to embody wise and strong women on the screen. Critics noted that there is diversity in the actress’s works: here is the assertive Nina in the film “Another Woman, Another Man,” and the responsible doctor Evgenia in the film “A Woman Wants to Know,” and the desperate Rina in “Tango for Two Voices.” Her last role was the role of Anna in the drama “The Ark”.
At the same time, not a single important event in the world of cinema took place without Glagoleva. She attended MIFF festivals, came to theater awards, and shone on red carpets with her daughters. Those around her admired the appearance of the actress, who remained youthful and fit until the end of her days. No one noticed the star’s deteriorating health until recently: she appeared so cheerful on the set of the film “Clay Pit,” which she never finished.
Vera Glagoleva's film was awarded after the actress's death
One of the last pictures of her mother was published on the microblog by Anastasia Shubskaya. Only a slight pallor hinted at the artist’s poor health, but otherwise she was still the same blooming woman, looking at whom it would be impossible to think that she had cancer.
Never again will Vera Glagoleva make a new film and hug her daughters. But as a consolation to loved ones, there will be photographs and footage that capture the actress’s talent. This is her story, her mark and her timeless contribution to art.
Vera Glagoleva, a famous actress, mother of three daughters, died on August 16, 2021. The star was diagnosed with stomach cancer, which became the cause of her death. Every year on this day, her daughters publish posts in memory of their mother, and 2020 was no exception.
Nastya recently became the mother of her second son, and now, more than ever, she wants her mother to be nearby and share her joy. She wrote about this very succinctly, but emotionally in her post: “3 years without you... I miss you very much, mommy! I love you” (the author’s spelling and punctuation are retained hereinafter. - Ed.)
Shubskaya-Ovechkina showed a photo of herself with her half-sisters Masha and Anna. They were born in the marriage of Vera Glagoleva and the famous actor and director Rodion Nakhapetov. Nastya herself was born when her mother was married to businessman Kirill Shubsky.

Despite the distance, all three Glagoleva daughters maintain a close connection. And they don’t forget about the famous mother - her grave, reminiscent of a gazebo from the era of romanticism, is beautiful and well-groomed.

There are bouquets of fresh flowers and chairs everywhere. The monument is also made in the form of a chair on which lies a book with a pencil - as if the actress went out for a minute and is about to return.

Anastasia also posted an everyday photo with her sisters, in contrast to the formal portrait with her mother. “My dearest,” Shubskaya commented on the photo. All three women are wearing ordinary clothes, there is no makeup on their faces, and their voluminous long hair is not styled or curled.

Anna Nakhapetova published the same shot, once again confirming the close connection with her sisters: “And there is no one closer, and there is no one dearer.” Also, yesterday an archival photo with a young mother appeared on Anna’s account: “Time doesn’t heal, it only makes you get used to it...” the ballerina sadly admits.
Almost all tabloid publications wrote about the feelings of the actress and businessman, assumptions about the transience of the marriage. Having denied the rumors, the couple legalized their relationship. After the birth of their common daughter, the passions of the spouses Kirill Shubsky and Vera Glagoleva gradually subsided.
After some time, Shubsky was approached with an offer to invest in Russian sports. Nastya was not yet four years old when the businessman went to Lausanne with a delegation from the Olympic Committee to discuss details.
In a fashionable Swiss restaurant, Khorkina’s friend Yulia Bordovskikh introduces the tycoon to the young gymnast. Kirill charmed Svetlana with his charm and gallantry.
After the evening, the couple spends the night in a hotel together, where in fact Shubsky first cheated on Vera Glagoleva. Later, Khorkina described the details of the development of her relationship with the millionaire on the pages of her autobiographical book “Somersaults in Heels.”
It can be added that from the moment they met, Shubsky attended all the important gymnast competitions. In essence, it was a civil marriage. The businessman not only often visited Khorkina and vacationed with her, but also lived with his passion. This went on for seven years.
Everything changed when Svetlana informed Shubsky about her pregnancy. The womanizer did not plan to divorce Vera Glagoleva.
To avoid a scandal, the millionaire promptly took Khorkina to the United States, where she gave birth under an assumed name. A legend was invented for the press about the love between the athlete and actor Levan Uchaneishvili, who gave birth to a son, Svyatoslav.
For playing the role of a caring father, the artist received a tidy sum from Shubsky, about $1 million. Afterwards, the actor safely departed for Israel.
Vera Glagoleva learned about her husband’s betrayal and double life only seven years later, when rumors spread that the actual father of the child was Shubsky.
In 2005, after the birth of a boy, the relationship between the businessman and the gymnast ended. Kirill managed to save his family. Vera Glagoleva, like a wise woman, forgave her husband.
At the insistence of the actress, a few years later Shubsky officially recognized his son and gave him his last name. The photo shows that Svyatoslav is very similar to his father.
