Alexander Ivanov was born in Moscow in 1961, 5 days before International Women's Day. Her parents worked at a furniture factory, her mother was an artist, and her father was a cabinetmaker. Unlike his older brother, Sasha grew up sickly, and on the advice of a doctor, his father began to introduce him to physical education and hardening. In winter, the child was engaged in skiing, and in warmer seasons - football and running. In 2nd grade , Yuliy Ivanov took his son to the sambo section. After 1 year, the boy began to study judo and in this sport managed to receive a black belt , and was repeatedly a prize-winner and winner at city and regional championships.

Along with sports, music burst into the boy’s life. The parents took their 7th son to the Angara , and after the film they bought a record for the cartoon The Bremen Town Musicians . The song became one of my favorites and was often played on the player.
At the age of 15, he went to support a friend who went to an audition to sing in the rock opera Malchish-Kibalchish . But instead of S. Nagaitsev they accepted Sasha. With rehearsals and performances, a taste for the professional stage developed and a passion for rock music came. While his brother was in the army, Ivanov independently mastered the guitar.

At that time, the eldest son was 16 years old, and Ivanov tried to devote as much time as possible to communicating with the almost adult guy. The youngest daughter had just been born, and the musician wanted to experience all the main stages of her development with her.
Later, when the group resumed its creative activities, the couple decided to move to the USA. The reason is the desire to give her daughter an Anglo-Saxon education, because she is half American. In Russia, studying in Anglo-American schools costs a lot of money, which does not fit the family budget.
Now Aurora attends a free school, which the girl’s mother graduated from at one time. In general, the musician can be described as a caring and responsible father, which is quite a rarity today not only in show business, but also in the lives of ordinary people.

- 1979-1981 – In order not to move from Dynamo to CSKA, he hid his sports achievements at the military registration and enlistment office. He served in the tank forces in Germany, where he initiated the creation of a freelance regimental orchestra. The orchestra tried to recruit professional musicians and people with experience performing on stage. The team invariably became the winner of various festivals, and the musicians met colleagues from the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, and watched performances of Van Halen, Deep Purple, and the Beatles on music channels.
- 1981 “Having been demobilized and regaining fitness, he did not receive the promised job. In a hurry to leave the care of his parents and earn his own personal living, he agreed to an offer to work in the group of Muscovites “Rainbow”, founded at the Kzyl-Orda Philharmonic. A tour of Kazakhstan began on an old “Kuban” bus, which, due to its “whims,” more than once tried to stop the trip. Due to a conflict with the manager, the contract was not renewed.
- 1981-1984 – Worked in ensembles and groups “Airport”, “Hello”, “Monitor”, “Crater”. I tried to experiment, gathering different groups in order to create good songs.
- 1984-1986 – Worked in the youth studio of the “Kommuna” cultural center, which belongs to the cotton mill named after. Frunze. All kinds of groups were invited to discos, among which were “Aria”, “Bravo”, Presnyakov Jr.
- 1986 “I learned from the head of Bravo that the Rondo group needed a soloist. Ivanov was accepted. Together with the Mirror of the World and Zhanna Aguzarova, they gave 20 sold-out concerts on the stages of the St. Petersburg Yubileiny and Moscow Olympic. US viewers got acquainted with “Rondo”, which participated in the 1st teleconference between Moscow and New York. Despite the popularity of the team, a split was brewing within it. The leader M. Litvin was guided by a style inspired by David Bowie, “Roxy Music”, with combed and made-up guys. Ivanov and other participants were closer to glam rock.
- 1987 – M. Litvin was planning to leave for the USA due to deteriorating health. Before leaving, I sold the brand with L. Plavinsky and recruited a new line-up with him. For 2 years there were 2 groups of musicians with the same name, until Stas Namin and Pavel Slobodkin, who led the “Jolly Fellows,” helped to sue the name of the former musicians.
- 1987-1989 – Without a director, with a new repertoire and image, the guys began to travel abroad. At the festival in Finland, held on the Åland Islands, they were met with great success and contents of supermarkets and boutiques unimaginable for Soviet citizens. Upon returning to Moscow, the group came under the wing of the music center in the park named after. Gorky, where S. Namin “led”, producing about 40 groups. After Lapland, “Rondo” was invited to various rock festivals in many countries around the world.
- 1988 – The musicians released the album “Officer of Order”.

- 1989-1990 – “Rondo” toured Central Asia with A. Pugacheva. Then there were many joint trips with Presnyakov Jr., which gave birth to the hit “I Will Remember” based on words previously written by Sasha.
- 1991-1994 “Rondo” and its frontman Ivanov produced many excellent compositions, including “We Are Crowned by a Thunderstorm,” “White Bull Terrier,” “On the Same Land,” “I’ll Be Back.” After the USA and Japan, the musicians conquered Poland, Bulgaria, the Baltic countries, and visited the Maldives, Malaysia and Thailand. The stylish hard rock album “Welcome to Paradise” was recorded in the studio of the titled Alla Pugacheva. Fans remember him for the compositions “You Burn Bridges”, “I’m Returning to Myself”, “Sip of the Night”. Concert videos were filmed for some hits of this record.
- 1995 – He sang the lyrical works of S. Trofimov, of which “My unkind Rus'” and “I will lay the sky under your feet” became hits. At the suggestion of Bekar-Records, headed by A. Shulgin, Rondo released the anniversary disc “Best Ballads,” which included the songs “Well, let it be,” “Prisoner of the Night” (in memory of the soldiers who did not return from Afghanistan).
- 1997 – He made his debut with the solo album “The Sorrow of a Sinful Soul,” which became a bestseller in Russia and South Korea. The rock musician, who turned into a lyrical romantic, became a favorite among the organizers of pop projects. The arrangement that the singer made together with his longtime friend A. Belov for the composition “Angel on Duty” was included in the album “Surprise for Alla Pugacheva” prepared by F. Kirkorov.
- 1998 – Continuing to combine solo performances with work in a group, I recorded the disc “The Past-Living” with colleagues from Gorky Park. He took part in a show organized by Philips in 25 Russian cities a month after the default, striking the Dutch who were watching the “crazy Russians” with the phrase that the company is part of the Universe.
- 2000 – The famous brand supported the long-term regular participation in Philips promotions that began 2 years ago with help in the release of Alexander’s 2nd solo disc, called “When Wings Grow.” The album, imbued with the spirit of lyrical ballads, but with elements of rock and industrial style of advanced foreign performers, repeated the success of the previous one. Videos were shot for the tracks “Motive of the Last Song” and “My Unkind Rus'”.
- 2002 – “Rondo” disbanded due to the exhaustion of its integral potential; from its composition, S. Volodchenko, S. Kulikov, D. Rogozin remained in Ivanov’s team.
- 2005 – Became the host of the “In the Morning Early” program on the MTV Russia channel and collaborated with fashion brands.
- 2006 – Released the disc “Passenger”.
- 2011 – He published a solo album, “It Was Me,” for which the main hit, “Rain,” was released with an animated video.

Music and the development of his project pushed into the background all of Sasha’s other hobbies. A year after the creation of the group, the young Gomel band went to the rock festival “Mass Medium Fest” in St. Petersburg. “Brown Velvet” successfully passed the qualifying round and took 2nd place. The musicians, inspired by the recognition and warm welcome in the northern capital, decided to move to St. Petersburg.

The following year, 2011, “Brown Velvet” won 1st place at the festival and became a leader. Soon two more Ivanovs were added to the group - Alexander's father Viktor and brother Vladimir. The first took on the duties of a sound engineer, the second plays the guitar.

In 1987, Alexander married Elena Ivanova , who worked as a choreographer in the children's group "Barvinok". The following year, daughter Karina , who was "Miss Capital" in 2004, and then became a film actress. In 2007, the couple divorced.
