Red waiting room
Griboyedovsky registry office is the unofficial popular name of the department. In fact, such a registry office has never existed in Moscow. The official name of the establishment is Wedding Palace No. 1. The main Moscow registry office with a rich history, a recognizable historical place with beautiful interiors for a photo shoot.

Photographer's tip: Photo session before registration
- There are six beautiful areas for a photo shoot in the Griboedovsky registry office: the main ceremony hall, the red waiting room, the green, peach and mirrored rooms, and the main staircase. In order to be on time everywhere, it is advisable to shoot as soon as the room is cleared of guests from other weddings. A photo session before the ceremony helps to relax and slightly reduce the natural anxiety that most brides and grooms experience while in the registry office.

Tip #2: Watch your posture while painting
- One of the most important wedding shots is the moment of painting in the central registry office of Moscow. Practice maintaining good posture in advance; this can be done by sitting sideways at your desk. Facial expressions are important and should be happy and content.
Central staircase
The main moment of the solemn registration of marriage is that the newlyweds listen to the solemn speech and give their consent to the marriage.
Tip #3: Enjoy the moment
- Try to feel the moment of registration, be aware of it - then a happy expression on faces will decorate you better than any Photoshop. This is the best thing you can do for beautiful photos and videos. You will look at these photos many times in your future family life. First, together, then with the children, and then you will show it to your grandchildren. You can think about this, for example.

Helpful information
Wedding Palace 1 on Kharitonyevsky Lane in Moscow is a cult place where many newlyweds in the capital strive to hold their wedding. Due to the high popularity index, there are often queues here: despite pre-registration, you can spend several hours waiting. The location in the historical center of the city creates difficulties when parking visitors' vehicles.
On weekdays, entrance to the building is free for visitors wishing to view the historical monument. Casual visitors are not allowed into the registration halls. If there are official weddings on the schedule, attendance is limited.
The official website of the Moscow Civil Registry Office 1 is missing; the necessary information can be obtained by calling the phone number or on the mos.ru portal.
The advantages of the 1st Wedding Palace in Moscow include the unique historical atmosphere of the mansion. Interior interiors allow you to take interesting wedding photographs. Large windows combined with a beige finish give the images a peculiar warmth.
One of the disadvantages of the Wedding Palace of the 1st Moscow Civil Registry Office is the small area of the halls, which limits the number of guests at the official wedding process. In the summer season, inside the building, despite the air conditioning system, it can be hot and stuffy.

How to get there on your own
Walk no more than 10 minutes from several metro stations: 500 meters from the Krasnye Vorota metro station (last car from the center, exit to Boyarsky Lane) or 600 meters from the Chistye Prudy metro station, Turgenevskaya metro station (exit to the city on Myasnitskaya Street) .

Tip #4: Exchange rings
- Immediately after signing, you will be invited to exchange rings. Stand sideways to the guests and the photographer, do not turn away or cover your hands with the bouquet (this often happens). For convenience, the bouquet can be left at the registration table and taken back before the grand entrance.

Features of the ceremony
The ceremony hall in Griboedovsky Civil Registry Office No. 1 is designed to comfortably accommodate up to 20 people. However, it can accommodate a larger number of guests, but in this case, some guests will have to stand, since there are only 20 chairs for event participants. The Wedding Palace also has another spacious hall where you can take photos for memory and watch a video of the ceremony. According to the rules of the Griboyedovsky registry office, drinking champagne on its territory is prohibited. However, newlyweds can order a buffet in the patio tent for a fee.
Registration hall of the Griboyedovsky Civil Registry Office
The most important room of the Palace is the place where the sacrament of marriage takes place. A solemn, upbeat atmosphere reigns in the hall. This is facilitated by the color design of the walls, half covered with carved natural wood from below and painted white on top, and the very filling of the interior. Elegant and comfortable furniture is displayed in which guests can sit; a special atmosphere is created by exquisite stucco molding, curtains and crystal chandeliers illuminating the room.
The ceremonial registration hall is quite well lit with soft daylight from a large window located in front of the newlyweds (during the registration ceremony). Although I mostly photograph in rooms with additional lighting, in this area of the registry office I partially do without pulsed light.

Review
It was very easy and pleasant to work with Alexey from the first minutes of our meeting at the registry office. This is the main thing in order not to be squeezed and to feel as comfortable as possible. Our wedding photo shoot was easy and fun despite the cool weather. The photos were ready quite quickly. Also, on the recommendation of Alexey, she decided to use the services of hairdresser-stylist Regina. Special thanks to her! I recommend it to everyone! Alexey, I wish you creative growth and new inspirations! Thank you very much!…"

Hall of Mirrors
The Hall of Mirrors is unique in its kind. It is quite difficult to photograph in it, due to the inclusion of all people present in the room in the frame due to mirror reflections. Of course, there is a way out of this situation; guests, as a rule, are understanding and completely free this area for a little photography.
Along the walls there are mirrors the height of the entire room, interspersed with light orange panels decorated with an exquisite classic pattern. Crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling. Along the entire perimeter there are comfortable chairs with soft upholstery and carved legs made of expensive wood. There are also several small tables on display. The peculiarity of this hall is a completely unique play of reflections of the walls, light and people present inside. Here you get special, light-filled wedding photographs - you just need to choose the appropriate angle, use the play of mirrors and wonderful antique-style decoration.
Nearest places for a photo shoot
The Griboyedov Palace is located in the center of Moscow, so the choice of places for a wedding walk and photography is quite large.
In sunny weather:
After registration, newlyweds often go to places: Zaryadye Park, Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Moscow City - here you can get great photos in sunny weather with a blue sky. Plans for shooting: architecture and the park part, the view from the Patriarchal Bridge to the Kremlin and the embankment of the Moscow River - all these are different locations allowing you to take many diverse beautiful shots.
In cloudy weather:
Among park places, the walking route is often built through Neskuchny Garden or Gorky Park. You can also take a wide variety of photographs here. You can go here both in sunny weather and when the sky is overcast.
In the rain:
If the weather forecast for your wedding day predicts rain, then it is better to plan an indoor location for the photo shoot. For example, paid places: Turandot restaurant, National Hotel, Baltschug Kempinski Hotel and others. There are also free places, for example GUM. If the weather temporarily clears, you can go out from GUM to Red Square and take interesting pictures there.

Red Hall
Large hall with high ceilings and interior in a classic style. The room has comfortable soft sofas, armchairs and a small table. On the walls are hung canvases with images of old Moscow, in particular, the Kremlin and St. Basil's Cathedral. The floors are covered with noble carpets. The walls themselves are covered with deep red paint, decorated with stylizations of antique white columns and monograms in the style of imperial Russia of the 18th century. The hall has several exits to neighboring rooms.
Green Hall
Like other premises of the registry office, it is great for wedding photo shoots and for guests to relax. The walls of the living room are painted in a smooth and deep light green color, decorated with large mirrors, white columns in a classical style and large canvases depicting street scenes of old Moscow. Upholstered furniture of increased comfort is perfect for guests who would like to relax a little and share their impressions of the ongoing celebration. They are also suitable as an excellent backdrop for shooting.
