What a luxurious and fun gypsy wedding it is?

In small Slovakia there are also gypsies. And the local people adhere to centuries-old customs, like their Russian brothers in the camp: if it’s a wedding, then it’s “expensive and rich.”

The wedding celebration of young Luka and Evka cost the relatives a fortune, and the bride’s dress cost almost 200 thousand dollars.

Gold-diamonds and white limousine

Hundreds of invited gypsies must make sure that both the 19-year-old bride - with a rich dowry, and the 20-year-old groom are a match for her, not a fool. Therefore, the best restaurant was booked in the small town of Michalovce to entertain the dear guests. And the video from the wedding ceremony immediately became mega popular among thousands of users. The suit of the thin groom and the breathtaking outfit of the plump bride were in harmony with each other: the festive vestments were made to order in white and gold precious decor.

The main decoration of the gypsy wedding was Evka’s chic dress, decorated on expensive white fabric with gold embroidery and real stones. To complete the look of the newlywed, they gave her a high hairstyle and adorned her with a truly royal tiara - made of pure gold with the image of lions' heads. Of course, it couldn’t be done without massive earrings, bracelets and impressive rings.

Happy Luka set off the beauty of his chosen one and was dressed to match her. A snow-white suit with a little less than that of a young gypsy, an abundance of gold embroidery and a stunning flower boutonniere. All with real gems and other indecent luxury. And, of course, a huge white limousine. It seems that the glorification of money and wealth at this wedding has already reached its climax. But here the gypsy scale and demonstration of superiority know no bounds.

Gypsy holidays: the richest wedding

A gypsy wedding traditionally symbolizes the merging of families and an increase in common wealth. It is at this holiday that there is both a reason and an opportunity to surprise others. Often gypsies prefer the European version - a white fluffy dress, and add a lot of decorations.

However, some parents try to dress up their children so that their fabulous wealth catches the eye. Here all methods and symbols are used - a golden crown, a dress and veil made of the same metal, huge jewelry on the bride (often incredibly young).

It has become a tradition among the richest gypsies to dress up their young wives in a dress made from banknotes. Very large banknotes, for example, with a denomination of 500 euros, are often used for decoration.

The richest Roma in Russia lead a more secular and Europeanized lifestyle. Often these respected families belong to the creative elite of the nation. However, they are usually no strangers to displays of wealth, and the holidays amaze with the abundance of gold and the scale of events.

Evka's fiery dance in banknotes

The second appearance of the newlyweds to the guests, according to tradition, should be in red vestments. Evka’s scarlet satin dress and the groom’s purple suit with the same tie completed the fashionable outfit of the “golden youth”. But what is this output in paper notes? Was the bride really adorned this time not with jewelry, but with dozens of euro bills, real and large ones at that? This is true! Let the newly made wife attract abundance into the family. Well, the fact that she looks like a walking ATM doesn’t bother anyone at a wedding, it’s just the way it is.

Celebration

It so happened that the gypsies, wandering and settling in any place for a long time, assimilated with the local population, adopting their traditions and even religion.

That is why among these people there are many followers of the Orthodox faith, therefore, a wedding ceremony is held between the young.
There are no more formalities for marriage. Parents bless the young with an icon and bread (of course, only among Christians).
The bride is sure to wear a new dress that the groom buys for her. It is believed that the main adornments of a girl are modesty and innocence. Therefore, the newlywed sits silently throughout the celebration, without raising her eyes, the newlyweds try not to even touch each other. The guests are having fun, singing, the tables are laden with treats.

Despite the outward “daring”, at such holidays there are very rarely fights or similar incidents associated with too much alcohol. In general, seeing a drunk gypsy is rare.

The first wedding night took place in a very peculiar way. Towards the end of the celebration, the newlyweds retired. Afterwards, the “carrying out of honor” took place - the guests were shown proof of the newly-made wife’s purity (a bedspread or sheet).

If the girl turned out to be “damaged,” then the festivities were interrupted, and her family was considered disgraced. It was almost impossible to get married later. This custom has not yet become obsolete.

If chastity was confirmed, the bride changed her clothes, put on a scarf, a red dress, this meant that she became a wife. Many people remember the mysterious, slightly frightening scene of the gypsy wedding from the old film “Yesenia”, when small incisions were made on the wrists of the young people.

Then they were placed next to each other, “mixing the blood,” as a sign that the bride and groom were becoming one in blood.

Such a ritual was actually carried out, and sometimes it still takes place today. Festive festivities last 3 days.

Due to the huge number of guests, the newlyweds receive the same number of gifts, which provides the newlyweds with everything necessary for living together. It is interesting that on the wedding day the newlyweds can be given alcohol (which is immediately placed on the table), although gypsies drink little.

The desired gift is gold jewelry; gold has long been considered a currency, a dowry, and property. When migrating, it was impossible to carry bulky things with you, or as much jewelry as you wanted.

Men and women sit separately, the newlyweds do not dance together. But otherwise, song and dance are constant companions of the wedding celebration.

Who did the money waterfall hit?

While Evka danced in a money dance, one of the relatives enthusiastically scattered euros among the guests, sprinkled five hundred and gold coins on the heads of the young people. A real financial rain fell not only on the gorgeous couple getting married, but also on all the invitees. No one was left offended. The generous gypsy many times presented each violinist and troubadour with cash, slipping large sums of money directly under the strings of the satisfied musicians. Interestingly, torn pieces of euros also fell on Evka’s head - all from the hands of the same hospitable relative. Now Luke’s life partner should certainly turn into a big magnet for cash flows.

By the way, when the holiday passions subsided, the husband and wife sat down at the table and started accounting. And with the most serious faces. They began to count how many crisp bills there were in those bundles that the generous uncle did not have time to scatter. And what directly went to the heroes of this enchanting holiday. Love is love, but there is no time for sentimentality. The main thing is to combine debit with credit.

Two skirts and an apron

Any gypsy woman must wear a pair of skirts and an apron, regardless of the circumstances. It's all about the woman's "uncleanness" in the area below the waist, which is transferred to the petticoat - under no circumstances should you touch it. Of all the attire, the cleanest is the apron, which covers both the upper and lower skirts, which are in contact with each other. It is on it that dishes and hands are constantly wiped, and children can also lean against it.

Internal court is not a fairy tale

Even in the modern world, there are cases when state justice is powerless, an example of this is the Roma court. If any dispute arises between representatives of the people, it is resolved within the framework of a congress of respected gypsies, whose duties include carefully listening to the arguments of both sides. This option for resolving relations is considered very important, and under no circumstances is it subject to publicity.

As for punishments, they can be very different. The most terrible species of macaw is considered to be the Dali 24. A person who is sentenced to this type of punishment is obliged to leave the camp within 24 hours.

Two jars of gold for the bride

It is customary for gypsies to buy a bride for themselves, in the literal sense of the word. The currency used is gold, which is measured either in banks or in kilograms. The price for the bride is set by the men who protect the girl (fathers or brothers). As practice shows, very often a nominal fee is assigned - two three-liter jars filled with gold (chains, earrings, bracelets, rings, etc.).

It is worth noting that gypsies from different countries cannot marry each other - this is tantamount to a wedding with a “non-gypsy.” This happens because gypsies from different countries are considered different peoples - they never maintain contact with each other.

A gypsy wedding is a very magnificent and beautiful event. It is customary for these people to organize a very rich table and the most colorful festivities in honor of this event. Even if a family lives very poorly, its members bend over backwards to surprise guests with the chic and scope of the celebration, which, as a rule, lasts more than one day. If the wedding is poorly performed, it is a great shame for the family.

Fraternization of husband and wife

Even among modern gypsies it is customary to carry out the fraternization procedure. As it turned out, it is carried out not only between men, but also between a newly made husband and wife.

To carry out this ritual, cuts are made on the palms of the boy and girl with a special knife, after which the hands are folded together so that blood exchange occurs. This ritual symbolizes the special bond between husband and wife, as well as their duty to share all the joys and hardships, as well as acquired goods, until the end of their days.

What’s most interesting is that the fraternization ceremony can only be performed on the second day of wedding festivities, after their first wedding night.
