Vladimir Markin - biography of the singer

The singer's childhood and youth

Vladimir Nikolaevich Markin was born on May 8, 1959 in the village of Bolshevo , which is located in the Mytishchi district of the Moscow region.

Mom, Vera Georgievna , was a school teacher in the lower grades. In first grade, Volodya went to his own mother. Many guys in the class were jealous of him because of this. But in fact, the teacher was much more demanding of her son than of other students.

Father, Nikolai Markovich Markin , worked as a foreman in the technical department. There was another child in the family - Vladimir’s older brother, Anatoly . Anatoly attended music school, but Vladimir did not.

Soon the family moved to the city of Pushkino , where Vladimir went to high school. At school, the boy was an excellent student, and in his certificate he only had two “B’s”, the rest were “A’s”.

During the same period, the future singer began independent music studies . Volodya did not go to music school. It all started with a simple hobby of playing the guitar, but then it turned into a fiery love for music. When Vladimir was a teenager, he and the boys created a school ensemble, performing songs from the repertoire of the then popular “Time Machine”, Pugacheva and Antonov, and even compositions by Western rock stars “Deep Purple” and “Queen” .

Vladimir Malkin: “I don’t blame my son. But I can’t understand him either.”

The loss of Magnitogorsk Metallurg center forward Evgeni Malkin, who secretly left the team at the Helsinki airport, is reminiscent of an action-packed detective story. It involves “men in black”, a private plane to America, the bewilderment of fans and the promise of the management of Magnitogorsk to sue the Pittsburgh Penguins club for the fugitive. On Monday evening, Izvestia correspondent Boris Titov asked the father of hockey player Vladimir Malkin to comment on the situation.

question : Vladimir Anatolyevich, two days have passed since your son disappeared. Did Zhenya get in touch with the house?

answer : He hasn't called me yet. The wife says that she also did not receive a signal, although the answering machine is always on. We wait.

in : Fans of the Pittsburgh Penguins club claim that they saw Evgeniy in a restaurant with team owner Mario Lemieux and other hockey players.

A : I can confirm or refute this version only when I hear his voice. It is possible that he is already in America, as well as the fact that his son is still in Europe.

c : Restore the chain of events that preceded Zhenya’s escape.

A: Almost all summer he was tormented by a sore on his leg. After two operations, the wound did not heal. Because of this, my son was unable to begin full pre-season training with Metallurg. And then there are agents calling almost every half hour, describing how talented he is, persuading him to go to the States, saying that he is capable of becoming an NHL star. He flew to Toronto in June and signed a contract with the Penguins. If a week ago the club president and owner of MMK Viktor Rashnikov had not personally persuaded him to stay, he would not have entered into a new agreement with Metallurg.

Q: During the meeting, were you under any psychological pressure?

A: There was no pressure or threats. A man's conversation took place. Viktor Filippovich convincingly asked Evgeni to work for his native club, plant, city and Russian national team for one more season. He reminded that a new palace was being built especially for the club, that fans were expecting a championship season from Metallurg, and without it it would be difficult for the team to fight for first place. And Zhenya decided to stay.

Q: Why did he break his promise?

A: I myself still cannot understand his action. But I don’t want to judge either. His condition was expressed very accurately by agent Sergei Isakov, who said that Zhenya was as if under hypnosis in recent days. And in general, on the ice and in everyday life, our son is like two different people. In the game he is persistent and purposeful, but off the court he is an ordinary young guy of twenty years old, carefully listening to the advice of strangers. They advised us to escape, since it was not possible to do so legally.

Q: Aren’t you afraid that because of his actions, your family may have problems in your hometown?

A: I don’t think it will come to that. Most metallurgists are normal people. And no one is safe from chance and fools.

Q: To whom did Evgeniy leave his “VIP-zone” restaurant?

A: My wife and I manage this business. There are still visitors.

Q: When did you realize that a real diamond sparkled in your family?

A: Almost from the first steps of my son. I myself once played hockey and put Zhenya on skates at the age of three. He progressed quickly and already in his childhood and adolescence could single-handedly beat five opponents. Our eldest son Denis followed Evgeniy into hockey, but did not achieve success. And Evgeniy became a star.

Which other hockey players fled from Russia to the NHL?

Alexander Mogilny

How it was. During the golden 1989 World Cup for our team, which took place in Sweden, Mogilny escaped from the hotel where the Soviet delegation was located and asked for political asylum from the Americans, then leaving for the States.

What came up. The hockey player was first deprived of Soviet citizenship and declared a traitor, and a few years later he was allowed to receive a Russian passport and, after he became the first Russian legionnaire to become the top scorer in the NHL as part of the Buffalo Sabers club, he was considered a hero.

Sergey Fedorov

How it was. In 1990, he “lost” in Portland, where the USSR national team was playing an exhibition match before the Summer Goodwill Games. The 20-year-old hockey player had been communicating with the management of the NHL club Detroit Red Wings for a year and decided that it was time to try his hand overseas.

What came up. Fedorov made a brilliant debut for Detroit, becoming the winner of the prize for the best rookie in the league and scoring the most points among Russians - 79 (according to the “goal plus pass” system).

Nikolay Zherdev

How it was. In December 2003, 19-year-old forward of the CSKA hockey club Nikolai Zherdev, unexpectedly for many, requested an American visa in Ottawa to play for the local Columbus Blue Jackets club.

What came up. Having played several outstanding matches in the NHL, Zherdev essentially never became a star of the first magnitude there, having come to “stay” during the lockout in CSKA. Now the 21-year-old forward has returned to Russia, to Khimik near Moscow.

Personal life of Vladimir Markin

Vladimir met his only love, a girl named Irina, in the Crimean sports and recreation camp “Alushta”. It was thanks to her that the words “ready to kiss the sand you walked on” were born, and it was with her that he created a family – once and for all. In the mid-80s, Irina gave birth to a daughter, who was named with the unusual name Lelyana. It is known that their daughter graduated from the production department of the Moscow Art Theater School, works in her father’s company as a designer and photographer, and is also responsible for posters and booklets. Her works are published not only by Russian but also foreign publications. The musician admits that Lelyana helps develop the family business, and he is now trying to pass on all his talents and abilities to his granddaughter Agasha, whom he loves selflessly.

By the way, there, in Alushta, Markin met the now famous showman and performer Sergei Minaev. It so happened that Sergei fell in love with Irina’s sister, Alena. Now, according to Vladimir, they have one big Markin-Minaev family, where everyone is like-minded, relatives and partners. He treats his nephew Sergei Sergeevich as his own son, and Minaev, in turn, treats his daughter the same way.

Markin prefers to talk about his love in songs (according to him, Alexandra Pakhmutova suggested this principle to him) and does not share the details of his family life with journalists.
