Artem Dzyuba – “Russian Ibrahimovich”

Childhood and youth

Artyom Dzyuba is a native Muscovite, born on August 22, 1988. The boy chose the athlete’s biography on his own, because his parents, by their example, could instill respect for other professions. The father is from law enforcement agencies, and the mother is a grocery seller who managed to get the position of deputy director. The young man’s nationality is unusual: his father is Ukrainian, his mother is Chuvash. The football player has a younger sister.

Like 23 brothers

Every team has players on whom the result largely depends. At the current World Championship we have several such people. But I would like to separately mention Denis Cheryshev, Alexander Golovin and Artem Dzyuba.

Now it’s difficult to imagine the attack of the Russian team without these three. But Cheryshev and Dzyuba did not play at the Confederations Cup last year. And in general, in the two years that ours have been coached by Cherchesov, between them they played only three matches for the national team! Another thing is Golovin, who is being hunted by several leading European clubs. And who is rightfully considered one of the leaders of the team.

They are so different - Golovin, Dzyuba and Cheryshev. Both in character and in the way their careers developed. Golovin grew up in Siberia until scouts from CSKA Moscow noticed him in 2012.

Cheryshev, unlike Dzyuba and Golovin, moved to Spain with his family as a child. A graduate of Real Madrid, Denis never played for the Madrid superclub. There is nothing to blame him for: in the company of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale, it is difficult for anyone to prove themselves. Plus, the Russian is plagued by injuries. But he doesn't give up. And at the World Cup he received the prize for the best player of the match twice in a row.

Dzyuba went through a lot. Loans, problems at Spartak and a high-profile move to Zenit - only a person with character can cope with this. At the same time, despite all the difficulties, Artem has not changed much. There is no more sociable and humorous player in the national team now. It is not surprising that after the game Dzyuba gladly answered questions from journalists.

What are your emotions after such a match?

Artem Dzyuba:

Fantastic! Even after the first game we saw how we were supported throughout the country. People were sick and helped us psychologically. Today was a difficult, very dynamic match. There was a tough fight in every part of the field.

After the game, you went out onto the field with your child. Did he understand what was happening?

Artem Dzyuba:

I don't know. He is five years old. He is incredibly happy! I wanted to play football (smiles). And I told him: “Dad is a little tired.” But we'll play again.

What position does he play for you?

Artem Dzyuba:

Of course, the attackers!

Denis Cheryshev was again recognized as the best player of the match. Aren't you jealous?

Artem Dzyuba:

No. We are a team. Our team consists of 23 brothers. We are all happy for him. Any player on our team deserves such a prize. I'm so happy now! We are playing at home, with fantastic support, in such fantastic stadiums. It's just a fairy tale. And we don't want it to end.

Balance of power

The national teams of Russia and Uruguay have already guaranteed themselves participation in the playoffs, but in what order they will leave Group A will become clear in the head-to-head match on June 25. The teams have an equal number of points, but the Russians have a significant advantage in terms of goal difference. Thus, even a draw with the South Americans will be enough for Stanislav Cherchesov’s team to finish first in the quartet.

Career

Already at the age of eight, Artyom studied at the Spartak Academy. Alexander Yartsev immediately decided that the boy who came to him would have a stellar sports biography, and he was not mistaken. Soon the athlete began playing in a team with adults and performed in the second team of Spartak. A year later, Dzyuba played in the team at the Russian Cup match with rivals from the Yekaterinburg Ural. This was followed by the national championship and the Russian Cup. The footballer played 27 matches, scored 6 goals, becoming the top scorer.

Artem Dzyuba in his youthIn 2009, during the team's performance in Austria, a scandal occurred.
Vladimir Bystrov's money was stolen and it was found in the possession of a young promising player from Dziuba's team. There was an obvious setup, but the footballer was transferred to Tom. This club treated the player with respect. The young man appreciated this very much. In one season, the team's striker scored ten goals. Despite the well-deserved respect and authority, Artyom left the team for his native Spartak. In the next two seasons, the footballer scored two out of three goals and brought victory to his team over the Swiss Basel. Soon the forward played in a match with Zenit wearing the captain's armband. Spartak won and entered the Champions League.

On loan at FC Rostov
For a short time, Dzyuba showed low performance in the game. The footballer was replaced by Emmanuel Emenike. Valery Karpin was appointed coach of the team, who did not have any special affection for the football player; he was a reserve player for some time. It was necessary to act somehow, and Artem agreed to a loan at FC Rostov. He again managed to score winning goals in the game against the Terek team. It was with this team that the footballer became the best scorer and received the Russian Cup.

Dzyuba returned to his former club again, thanks to which Spartak beat Rubin and Dynamo. The footballer refused the proposed contracts with Spartak and moved to Zenit. He was offered more than 3 million euros. In this team, the Zenit player again proved himself to be a master at scoring decisive goals against someone else's goal. In one of the matches, as a result of the tough play of the Terek player, Artem was injured. Having recovered, the striker regained his former form and began scoring goals for his opponents.

Dzyuba in the Russian national team
Artem did not get into the national team right away. First, the forward was included in the youth team, and after 2 years Dzyuba was already playing in the second national team of the country, and then in the main team. The footballer lived up to the coach's expectations when, in conjunction with Roman Shirokov, he scored a penalty against the team from the USA.

Dzyuba's goals invariably brought the Russian national team victories in matches with the national teams of Sweden, Liechtenstein, and Moldova. Sometimes the media fuels the game of football players with various scandalous facts. All fans know that Artyom is a very well-mannered player. He tries not to go beyond the rules of the football game. There was a second moment in the striker’s football biography when the team entrusted him with becoming captain. This happened at Zenit too. The footballer is again taken on loan, this time to the Arsenal club from Tula. When Zenit and Arsenal met on the field, the footballer led the Tula team to a draw.

National team career

In 2009, he was called up to the Russian youth team. In total, he played 9 matches for her and scored 4 goals.

In 2011, he received a call to the created second Russian national team. In November of the same year, he was called up to the main Russian national team for a friendly match with Greece, where he made his debut in the national team, playing the first half.

After a successful start to the 2014/15 club season for Spartak (6 goals in 5 matches), Dzyuba was again called up to the national team, and on September 8, 2014, in a qualifying match for the 2021 European Championship against the Liechtenstein team, he scored his first goal for the national team. On October 12, in a qualifying match against the Moldavian national team, Artem earned a penalty and converted it himself, scoring four goals in that match.

On June 3, 2021, he was included in the final team application for the World Cup in Russia. On June 14, in the opening match of the championship, in which Russia played with the Saudi Arabian national team, he entered the field in the 70th minute, replacing Fedor Smolov, and scored a goal a minute later. The head coach of the Russian national team congratulated the forward with a unique gesture, performing a military salute. Later, the striker himself began to celebrate the goals he scored in a similar way. At this World Cup, he scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists.

Personal life

Artem Dzyuba is an exemplary family man.
I saw my future wife in Novgorod. A month was enough for them, which they spent on meetings. After that they signed. Christina has already managed to give her husband a son, Nikita. One day the press decided to catch a football player having a relationship with a married woman. TV presenter Maria Orzul was chosen as the subject. My wife understands such cheap attacks from journalists. Now the couple has their second child. The boy's name is Maxim. Most recently (May 15, 2021), the couple had a third son, who was named Alexandroi.

It is difficult to find out details from Artyom’s family life. It is known that the eldest son is also interested in football. The youngest is inclined to choose hockey. The happy father of two charming boys enjoys reading books and playing computer games related to his professional activities. Of the works that Dzyuba calls his favorites, several can be named: “The Count of Monte Cristo”, “Ivanhoe”.

Artem Dzyuba at Zenit

In July 2015, the management of the St. Petersburg club officially introduced the striker as a new Zenit player. Already in the first round of the RFPL season 2015/16, he made his debut for the new team. It is worth noting that football player Artem Dzyuba was recognized as the best player in this game. "Zenith"

became a club in which the striker began to demonstrate his best football, while showing high performance. Dziuba's pairing with the Brazilian Hulk became the best at the end of the season in Russia, recording 32 goals and 22 assists. After leaving Spartak, Dzyuba won a trophy in his first season, winning the Russian Cup with Zenit.

Artem Dzyuba now

Artem receives a decent salary and does not complain about his financial situation. He was accepted into the Russian national team for the World Championships, which took place in Russia. The team coach S. Cherchesov never regretted that he included the football player in the national team. The player scored goals after coming on as a substitute and in the last minutes of matches. Dzyuba is a very emotional, open young man, his tears spoke about this during an interview with Channel 1.
